Photoshop how to sheets for students - recreate artists work

Hello,
I have been asked to make 3 photoshop guides for students to recreate their own versions of three artists work on photoshop. I am struggling to work it out myself as my background is photo editing. I would be extremely grateful of some help, the three examples are below:
David Hockney Grid - using one image, breaking it up into a grid and the squares are all slightly jumbled.
Jiri Kolar strips - Two photographs that are cut into strips and alternately laid out to make one image
Jelle Martins triangles -many photographs combined with blocks of colour

Sorry I didn't see that! Thanks again, just one more question if you don't mind. With the triangles, I have gotten to this stage:
I can duplicate the layers but I can't seem to flip the whole section horizontally. What am I doing wrong? I did it by converting it to a smart object but then obviously I can't edit it at all and a small white line appears between the two sections as below, which I can't see on yours!

Hi, I'm after some info which I just can't seem to find on the web! Exactly what kind of student do you need to be to qualify for a Student Edition in the UK? Do you need to be doing a degree or can you just enroll on a part time course at a local college of higher education (say an 18 week, part time course in Web Design which I am very interested in doing). I read somewhere that you had to be doing a degree of at least 2 years in length, but then somewhere else I came across someone who activated their Photoshop software by just doing a short course (in nursing - their full time occupation!). Please can anyone clarify how long/what type of course is the bare minimum in order to enable you to qualify as a student? Thanks!

My Photoshop Elements 6.0 for windows just quite working 4 days ago.

I have tried unistalling it and now i am trying to reinstalling it but it is saying needs disc one but i only have one disc? I called the support for adobe and she said they aren't allowed to help me cause 6.0 is out of date. Can anyone help me. I am running vista and can't get it installed now.

When you try that, make sure you right-click the program icon or Start menu item and select Run As Administrator. Running a program in an account that is a member of Administrators is not the same thing (as it was on XP).
If that doesn't work, you could be encountering one of the many reasons why PSE might crash or freeze, most of which are independent of the version of Windows. Unfortunately, these can be hard to diagnose quickly, and the best approach is to work methodically through all the known troubleshooting steps:

I suggest starting with the "Fix the licensing" step, whose symptoms can be similar to what you're seeing.

Serial number for student license not working.

My serial code doesn't work. I sent an application on the 16th October 2013 and i still have the same problem. I don't know what is the problem but the issue is still there and i have the same message saying ''We cannot confirm the serial number for Adobe Illustrator CC.'' during my activation. I don't know what to do as it have been 4 days since i bought the program from my university.

KarimS first I would recommend checking your account at http://www.adobe.com/ you have opened three separate cases with our support team and all three are pending your response.
It also looks as if you are in North America and did not purchase your education software from Adobe directly. Please see http://forums.adobe.com/message/4634728#4634728 for information on how to submit your proof of eligibility. Once you have submitted your proof of eligibility, and it is approved, you will then be given access to your subscription.
I would also recommend that your education e-mail address when submitting your proof of eligibility. This will help expedite the process of you being made eligible.

Note these also work in the perpetual CS6 Windows version not the Subscription CS6 version. Some may work on the Mac however Picture Package(Contact sheet II) will not work on the MAC for Mac CS6 is 64Bit only and there was only a 32Bit plug-in for Mac CS6. There are 32bit and 64bit versions for windows. I install these manually....

Sol 1. Please try sign out from Creative cloud Desktop App and quit it.
1. Launch Creative Cloud application manager.
2. Click the gear icon in the upper-right corner and select Preferences.
3. In the Preferences menu, under General, click the Account tab.
4. Click Sign Out from Creative Cloud.
Then re-sign in and launch Photoshop CC 2014 and check.
Sol 2. Check your Hosts file.
Windows
1. Choose Start > Run, type %systemroot% \system32\drivers\etc, and then press Enter.
2. Locate Hosts file and move it to Desktop
3. Right-click the hosts file and select Open. Select Notepad for the application to open the hosts file.
4. Back up the hosts file: Choose File > Save As, save the file as hosts.backup, and then click OK.
5. Search the hosts file for entries that reference activate.adobe.com (for example, 127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com) and delete these entries.
6. Save and close the file and move it back to Etc folder.
Mac OS
1. Log in as an administrator to edit the hosts file in Mac OS.

If prompt for License this software, please click on it and sign in with the Adobe ID and Password which you have used to purchase the subscription and check if you can activate and use the products.

How to scan an Excel Page/sheet for specific value in cells?

I want to be able to scan an excel sheet for a specific value and return it.
My goal is to be able to scan the excel file which it compares to another value:
I.E : reads item 1 which gives it a value of A it will then search for this A at location X it will then return a value that matchs it or return a pop up message saying no such item exists in area excel page G.

I did not understand your explanation since I don't know what "item 1" is supposed to be to read. Skipping that, the easiest way to do this is to do the searching in LabVIEW. Simply read the Excel sheet into an array and search the array in LabVIEW. You can try to use ActiveX to execute the "Find" method, but that's up to you. You can research MSDN on how to call the "Find" method. The attached example is one that I created a while ago as an example to read an Excel range into an array. It's in 8.0.
