Photoshop, Indesign and Illustrator changing random fonts

Ever since I installed (and yes reinstalled) PS, ID and AI CC it seems to change several seemingly random fonts into another font.
For instance Arial regular, narrow, black all work normal, but when I set it to Arial bold it changes to M6 bold.Sometimes even without actually changing the name of the font, just how it displays.
Besides removing the "replacement" font from the windows folder I can't seem to find a way to get it to work.
I've tried using the font-test script which found no corrupted fonts.
PS, ID and AI all seem to change different fonts and only a specific font style.
System specs:
Adobe CC (all updated)
i7-4790 (3.6GHz)
16GB RAM
ATI HD7950
Windows 7 professional (SP1) 64bit
Is this a common bug since I can't seem to find a related thread?
If not, how can I fix this?

DeLisiArt, Which OS do you have? Just make sure you have followed the below article completely. http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/configuration-error-cs5.html
Also, Yes, it is for sure a permission issue. So, i would recommend you to try the below suggestions depending on your OS:
For Windows:
Turn off User Account Control - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/disable-user-account-control-uac.html
Enable the hidden admin account and check if the applications launch fine there - http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/3040.enable-disable-the-local-h idden-built-in-administrator-account-in-windows-7.aspx
For Mac:
Repair Disk Permissions : http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=DiskUtility/11.5/en/7070.html
Enable Root user and check if the applications launch fine there : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1528

  • Adobe Creative Suite Design CS6 - PhotoShop, InDesign and Illustrator immediately shuts down after startup

I'm troubleshooting for a customer who have Adobe Creative Suite Design CS6.
His programs suddenly wont start, they launches and starts to read plug-ins and open up a workspace, but then without warning/error it shuts down. no log, error message or anything...
It's the same for PhotoShop, InDesign and Illustrator both in 32 bit and 64.
He is running the suit on a Hp EliteBook 8560p with Windows 7 Pro x64 sp1.
He also have had a Wacom Bamboo CTE 650 penpad installed before.
This is what I've done so far:
    * Uninstall the whole suit and reinstalled it again (Done this 3-4 times, manually deleted regestry-files, used CClean and other cleaning tools)
    * Deleted the wacom-drivers with controlpanel tool, Windows driver Clean tool, CClean and manually deleted registry-keys and files.
    * Uninstall Anti-Virus software and replaced it with another, inactivated AV and Windows Firewall.
    * Deleted register-files for the suits and "reregister" them again.
    * Full patch both for windows and adobe softwares.
    * Reboot between each step
    Any suggestions?
I have to add that adobe support for this $2000 software really sucks...
    Thanks!

    Problem solved!
I went through all the folders associated with adobe cs6 and renamed them (one by one) so they would be recreated.
I did this before but seems like I missed this specific one.
Anyway, when I renamed the folder "SLCache" in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\ and then ran the applications one by one as administrator I was prompted to enter a serial-key again and log in to my Adobe-ID.

  • If I have the creative cloud package which has Photoshop, Indesign and Illustrator CS6, do I have to pay to again to get the CC 2014 version?

It really depends on which subscription plan you are signed up to.  Normally whichever programs are available thru your subscription are listed for you to install in the CC desktop manager application.  If you do not see certain programs listed it might be because your machine does not meet the system requirements for them... that is normally what happens with the manager.

I had 4 installation disk but the last installation disk is missing. I still allow to keep the Photoshop , Indesign and illustrator software in the computer but i can only keep that on a trial of 30 days. In order to use it permanently, I have to activate the Suite. As the phone activation service is no longer available. I try the online activation as mention in the phone message when I tried to call, but is not successful@ as it didn't bring to an activation page. What should I do to activate it or solve the problem?

There should be an option tro activate when you run any of the installed programs.

  • Newbie: I need to get 3 copies of Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator, what licenses do I need?

I have three users that each wanting a copy of  Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.
I of course want to do this in the most administratively and financially efficient way.
    What licenses do I need?
I though at first it would be one cc4t for the company and then three single licences for each user (nine in total)
My reseller is just making me more confused!

The links to adobe site just made the confusion worse. :-(
Thankfully I found Wikipedia much clearer.
It looks like the three apps they want are included in cc4t so all I need is three cc4t licences and as an (un-creative) admin there is no charge for me having a "control panel"
    Thanks though for trying.

  • I need to purchase Photoshop, Indesign and Illustrator. Which plan should I choose?

I need to purchase Photoshop, Indesign and Illustrator. Which plan should I choose? Does the 'Individual Complete plan at A$49 p/m include Indesign?? Their description of this plan only states "Latest Photoshop, Illustrator, and more, plus cloud features"...what i "and more'!!! Thank you

Their description of this plan only states "Latest Photoshop, Illustrator, and more, plus cloud features"...what i "and more'!!! Thank you
Many people seem to be confused by that incomplete, brief wording on the Cloud plan page.
Creative Cloud free trial & plans : Adobe Creative Cloud
The full Cloud inclusions are listed elsewhere on the Adobe website
Explore Adobe desktop apps | Adobe Creative Cloud
If you need 3 or more apps then the full Cloud membership (Individual Complete plan) is the way to go.

Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't work. Been on the phone with Adobe 5 times since this happened on June 18. Probalby spent 5 hours on the phone with 4 different tech people. I'm waiting for a callback, but the Adobe guy tells me it will be 2 days. Others muct have this same problem....any fixes? HELP!

We can't help with subscription issues on the forums. You'll need to contact customer support.

  • Micro company, designers want photoshop, indesign and illustrator; what's the best option? is it possible to buy just these 3 applications?

Best option for designers in a micro company? Software installed in computers?

click the link in message 1 to see all those subscription options.
if you only need one (non-photoshop, non-lightroom) app, it's less expensive to subscribe to a single app.  if you need more than 1 (non-photoshop, non-lightroom), consider the package.
if you need photoshop and/or lightroom, the photographers package is the least expensive.

  • A good viewer for photoshop, indesign and illustrator files.

    Hello everyone.
I work at an designers firm, and we are avid users of the Adobe Creative Suite. However, it's expensive software, and certain people at the company only have to view the files we create. It's a bit of a hassle to create PDFs for them, and it's expensive to get full CS6 licenses for people who just view the software.
So my question is: is there any good software to view these file types simultaneously?
    Thanks!

Any bog standard image viewer like IrfanView can display PSDs - if they are saved with maximum compatibility. Of course without any color management, so colors may be off and CMYK files look whacky. Other than that your chances are slim. Without the proprietary Adobe libraries in place there is simply no way to "understand" ID and AI files beyond the occasional icon thumbnail based on the PDF-compatible data in the file...

  • CS5 InDesign and Illustrator keeps Crashing upon startup while Photoshop works fine

I installed CS5 on my iMac running Mavericks. Photoshop works fine, but InDesign and Illustrator keep crashing upon starting the program. InDesign specifically crashes when it "registers 224 plug-ins". Illustrator crashes almost instantly. Adobe phone tech support is not available because this is not a creative cloud subscription. Has anybody else encountered this issue?

Sorry it has been a busy few days in the office - but I still would like to get this program running...
Tried replacing the entire Adobe Folder - still not the answer...
I've replaced all these folders too that are appeared after successfully launching InDesign in the Guest Account (see images)
My preferences and cache folders in my main user account have a ton of files and folders compared to my guest account. Could that be the source of the problem? I can post screen shots if you think that they may be the source?
    Thanks,

  • Indesign and Illustrator CS6 crash upon opening. Photoshop is fine.

    Hi,
Everytime I launch CS6 indesign and illustrator i keep getting the classic "indesign quit unexpectedly..." message. I have already run the Adobe Application Manager and updated everything and uninstalled, reinstalled both items again and yes I have restarted.
Falling drastically behind on work and looking for solutions fast! Any ideas anyone? Very gratefully received!
    Thanks

    did you clear the caches?
and onthe off-chance that ID got far enough to leave something behind, find the InDesign Recovery folder (a hidden folder, I think, since Snow Leopard or Lion) and empty it if there's anything there.

  • Indesign and Illustrator CS5.5 crash on launch?

Hi, since few days my Indesign and Illustrator (CS5.5 on OSX Lion) keep on crashing while launching. I de-installed and re-installed the entire CS5 Suite on my iMac already couple of times, but nothing changes. First I thought it might be a font problem, so I deleted all user fonts, but sadly this also didnt help. I already rang the Adobe tech support line but they are not very helpful at all... very frustrating. Anybody an idea what else I can do?

Everytime I try to launch Indesign or Illustrator CS5.5 they start launching but then crash during launch with the comment "Programme quit unexpectedly". Strange thing is that Photoshop and all other CS5.5 Design Premium components are launching and working fine. I am working on the iMac 2.5GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 with 6MB with OSX Lion.

  • CS4 InDesign (and Illustrator) not printing in Lion OS environment

I have had no trouble installing CS4 in a Lion environment on my Mac.  However, while I can open and edit files, I cannot print anything.  Nor can I edit or change the print presents or anything at all related to printing.  InDesign (and Illustrator) just drop out.  Bang.  Just like that.  No error reporting at all.  Photoshop, however, prints just fine.  I get crash report dialog boxes for both Adobe and Apple but have so far had no answers.  PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN
BTW I have called Adobe several times, waited literallly for hours, and once paid for support but the line dropped out.  Next call, another wait of between 30 minutes and 1.5 hours, and the call dropped out again.  I am so cross.

Unfortunately, this is a user to user forum, and rarely does anyone from Adobe cross path here with the users, nor do the customer care staff. Sorry you had issues with them though, I personally have never dealt with them.
Considering both programs are acting "wonky", perhaps you could try to install your printer again. Or perhaps get an updated Driver for the printer?
I'm not a Mac user. But when I was, peripherals on my Mac went wonky with new installs of software regularly. It was always worth unplugging the peripheral, restarting the computer and see if the issue persists.
I'd try rebooting the the computer without the printer plugged in. Then once booted, install the printer again. And see if it helps.
