Photoshop Installation and update

Having trouble installing Photoshop CC. It wanted to imediatly update, which initially failed, so I had to tell it to try again after installing LIghtroom. But now I'm getting an error message. It says to retry or to contact customer support (49). Says this every time I try to retry.

you could try uninstalling and cleaning per, http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html
or contact adobe support, http://www.adobe.com/support/chat/ivrchat.html

  • Please run the Photoshop installer and re-install Photoshop

    Hi!
I just upgraded to PS CS% from PS CS3 Extended. Download went well as well as installation.
After, i deactivate CS3 then i uninstall it using Adobe installer.
Each time, i opened CS5, i have the following message:
"One or more files in the Adobe Application Support folder, necessary for running Photoshop, are missing.  Please run the Photoshop installer and re-install Photoshop."
I reinstalled it but i'm still having the same message. I didn't play much with it but it seems to work properly...
    What could it be?
    Regards!

The problem most likely is uninstalling an older version after installing the new one.
The Uninstaller removes certain support files which it can't tell are the new ones.
The solution in your case is to uninstall CS5 first, then uninstall CS3, run the Adobe CSClean Script, Repair Permissions with Apple's Disk Utility, only then install CS5, and the Repair Permissions with Apple's Disk Utility again.
All Adobe upgrades are full installers and do not need to find a previous version of the software installed.  When they don't find a previous version of the software installed, they'll just prompt you for the old serial number.
It's not mandatory to uninstall older versions, but if you don't want to keep the older versions, uninstall them first, before installing a newer version.  I have all versions of Photoshop from 7.0.1 through 11.0.2 ("CS4") happily coexisting on my machine.  I can even run two versions of Photoshop simultaneously, just by launching the older version first and assigning separate scratch disk volumes to each.

  • CS5 Installation and Update issues

I am trying to re-install Photoshop CS5 onto my Win 7 Ultimate System. I know from previously installing it several years ago that there was an issue with installing it with Adobe Raeder on a system. Something to do with folder location issues. I have tried re-installing CS5 and it does install (apparently Reader issue solved(?)). Both 32bit and 64bit seem to install ok. I can open Photoshop and access the program.
Problem:  When I try to do updates for the software, that are available, they download and then hang on install. The Adobe installer stops responding and nothing installs.
Could someone pleas assist me with this issue.
    Thank You

  • Flash Player installation and update questions and answers

How do I verify that I have the latest version of Flash Player?
If you receive a message that tells you that Flash Player is out of date or a new version of Flash Player is available, you can verify this by visiting the Flash Player Help page with your browser.
Simply click the "Check Now" button and you'll be presented with a short message and detailed information regarding your Flash Player installation.
Where should I download the latest version of Flash Player?
Because malware authors will often employ misleading tactics to make malware look like something you should trust, it's important to get your Flash Player updates directly from Adobe.
Please verify that your Flash Player downloads and updates come from only the adobe.com or macromedia.com domains.  You can always download the latest version of Flash Player directly from https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer
I've selected the automatic update option in Flash Player, why do I continue to get update notifications?
Periodically, users are presented with the Flash Player update dialog notifying them that a new version of Flash Player is available for download from adobe.com.
The automatic update mechanism is used for some updates, security patches that address zero-day vulnerabilities and when users, who have selected to be updated automatically, have not updated within 45 days after a regularly scheduled update release of Flash Player.
What should I expect when I receive notification that Flash Player has an update available?
When a major update to Flash Player becomes available you will be presented with a Flash Player update dialog
After reviewing new features, pressing the Download button will open your default browser and load the Install Adobe Flash Player page.
Clicking the "Update now" or "Install Now" button will then take you to the next page which will start the download process and give instructions for completing the Flash Player install.
Finally, once the installation is complete your browser will display a page confirming a successful installation.
If you encounter installation problems, we recommend you review our Windows and Mac OS installation help documents. Further questions and information can be found on the Flash Player installation forums.
Why does Adobe Flash Player installer include the option to download additional software?
Adobe offsets the ongoing development costs of Flash Player, which is made available for free, by offering users the option to download select software from Adobe partners.
What options do I have when installing or updating Flash Player?
You have a few different options available when updating Flash Player. We recommend that you choose "Allow Adobe to install updates (recommended)" when initially setting up Flash Player
or by going into the Flash Player control panel and choosing this option in the Advanced tab.
Once selected, most updates will occur in the background without requiring any interaction. For those regularly scheduled major update releases, you will be presented with an update notification dialog
If you decide not to update, you will receive an automatic update within 45 days if you have the "Allow Adobe to install updates" option selected. Please note that when this update occurs, only Flash Player will be installed.
If you want to be notified about every Flash Player update, select "Notify me to install updates" when initially installing Flash Player or from the Advanced tab in the Flash Player control panel.
Finally, if you'd prefer not to receive any updates, select "Never check for updates (not recommended)". We do not recommend this option as we believe keeping your system up to date improves both security and stability when using Flash Player.
For network Administrators we offer additional update options, including the ability to host your own internal Flash Player update server. Please see our Flash Player distribution page and Flash Player Administrator guide for details.

Sunil, I just want to verify you are pointing me to the link under "Progress bar hangs during download / Unable to connect to server / Unable to download metafile."
If yes, then that is the file I originally downloaded based on a March post I saw here.
I just tried it again, and it (by "it" I mean the Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers from download.macromedia.com) installed 11.6.
After the installation process completed, the dialog box notified me it was version 11.6, and when I went back to, the "find version" page, 11.6 was confirmed.
I did not download the exe for Internet Explorer, as I almost never use that browser.

  • How do you get iMovie '08 to load properly after installation and updates?

I loaded iMovie '08 and updated and at first it was smooth. Then, I tried to follow instructions on how to send a (copy or duplicate) of a project to my external hardrive. When I tried to pull the "original" up on my iMac; it would only pull up temporarily. Once it started loading the "thumbnails"--then it would simply say that iMovie had encountered a problem ad ask me to either; REPORT, RETRY or CLOSE (the project). For the few moments it was loading up--I could see my video footage--but then it would flash to the "REPORT", RETRY or CLOSE" screen. HELP!

    maillarry wrote:
.. I'm not sure what you are referring to in terms of the "Finder" level operation?
if you want to delete events or projects, you have to do that in the app iM08 itself; if you erase any files in 'Finder' (when no app is running, MacOs shows you the 'Finder', read the manual.....) for sure iM will complain and show a weird behavior..
... Now, EVERY TIME I "trash" the iMOVIE'08--and "re-install it--and follow with the "update"--it does the same thing.
re-installing an app is a habitual behavior on inferior systems ... as we like to say here ..
for sure, a reinstall of the app doesn't fix your Events and Projects Folders.. if you mis-manage any content by doing so on Finder level, the app will keep 'complaining'..
sorry, no fix from here (=I'm afraid, you totally misconfigured the file management 'manually'), if you try to be smarter than the guys at Cupertino, you HAVE to be smarter than them..

  • C6-00 Installations and Updates don't work at all

    Hi all,
I've got obvious issue as described in many threads here - I'm not able to install new apps or update installed apps either directly or through Ovi Suite. My firmware is v40.0.021.
When I try to update apps through Ovi Suite, it fails after download with a message that something went wrong. Even though I tried to re-install both Ovi Suite and phone firmware, the problem remains unresolved.
I tried also to use Ovi Store and install new apps/themes, the installation fails everytime.
As posted in other threads I also tried to reset phone to factory settings - this didn't help.
Could anybody of you help me resolve this annoying issue? Is it caused but buggy FW v40.0.021? What should I do to fix this issue?
    Thanks,
    Jan
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi all,
I finally resolved the issue. It was quite complicated but it worked...
    1. Backup of the phone through Ovi Suite
    2. Switch-off the phone
    3. Press "Left Shift + Space + Back Space + Red button" and wait until Nokia logo appears
    4. Release buttons and let it boot up
    5. Update apps as you wish
    6. Restore config from backup
    7. Enjoy as me if everything passed
    Hopefully it helps.

  • 10.6.8 Server: Spotlight stops working for clients after fresh installation and updates

    Problem:
On 2013-02-22, I reinstalled my Xserve with fresh 10.6.3 and upgraded it to 10.6.8 OS X Server. Spotlight used to be working perfectly for clients to search over the network but now it is not working. Administrators doing local spotlight search on Xserve server side is searchable. Clients with less privileges searching files across the network to the server will receive null result. Administrators searching files across the network is still working.
I believe it has something to do with the update packages and some security improvement bugs introduced in late 2012 or early 2013.
All my clients Macs are in either 10.7.5 and 10.8.2.
Can anyone confirm this? All my staff members in the company cannot do the spotlight search to the server now!

    Hi, maracujana,
the problem can be solved if you allow the permssion of parental folder of your share points to have at least Read Only permission for User and Group:
    permission: 644
    User: Read&Write
    Group: Read Only
Others: Read Only (or No Access)
In my case, it is strange that PCs can still do the search to the Snow Leopard Server by SMB protocol while Mac using AFP cannot even when the parental folder had permission 600. This could be a secure issue in Snow Leopard's SMB1.0 protocol. Note that SMB in Snow Leopard is SMB1.0, which is less secure and hence deprecated after Snow Leopard. From Lion onwards, all OS X uses SMB2.0 and/or SMB X.
Oh, yes, there is one more thing:
you may find your scanner using SMB protocol stopped functioning properly if you use (Mountain) Lion client and (Mountain) Lion server. It boils down to Apple's silent change of SMB protocol from SMB1.0 to SMB2.0. Solution? Use FTP protocol for now. Don't blame Apple too much because Apple had to follow the rules of GPLv3. The SMB issue will go on as Microsoft introduces its own SMB 3.0 protocol in Windows 8 while Apple introduces its SMB verison dubbed SMB X.
    Hope this helps.

  • Installation and updating of Adobe Reader 11 on completely offline, air gapped PCs?

Is it possible to install Adobe Reader 11 on a PC that does not have Internet access (and never will have Internet access, even for a brief moment, for security reasons)?  I understand that Adobe no longer sells software on media such as DVDs, so I would expect to download it on a computer with Internet access, then transfer it via sneakernet to the computer without Internet access, and install it there.
If it is possible to install Reader on an air gapped PC, is it possible to perform a minor (bug fix or security) update of Reader (say from 11.0.07 to 11.0.08) by downloading the update on a different PC, transferring it to the PC without Internet access, and then installing the update there?
After having successfully installed Reader on an air gapped PC, will it run indefinitely without ever having an Internet connection?  (In other words, will it need to check in with an Adobe server once every 60 days, and if it can't, will it stop working, or anything like that?)
Can someone point me to official, documented answers to these questions on the Adobe website to make sure there's no misunderstandings or subtle gotchas?
    Thanks!

Here you can get the links to the update patches: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=10&platform=Windows
I suggest that you disable update checking completely on the offline computer.

  • Allow application installations and updates for standard user account

Good Afternoon. Is there a way to configure/allow standard, non-admin user accounts to have access to only install applications or update applications? Is there a group those user accounts can be added to via dscl or some other method? Appreciate any help/input. Ideally I would like to grant users this access/option without giving them full administrative rights. Thank you.

When you're prompted for the administrator password, take note of the requested right in the dialog box, download TextWrangler from the developer's website(not the Mac App Store), and use it to edit the /private/etc/authorization file so that those accounts have that right.

If it is possible to install Acrobat on an air gapped PC, is it possible to perform a minor (bug fix or security) update of Acrobat (say from 11.0.07 to 11.0.08) by downloading the update on a different PC, transferring it to the PC without Internet access, and then installing the update there?

  • Just updated CC 2014, Photoshop launches with message to run Photoshop Installer: where is this?

On updating Photoshop CC 2014 and launching I get a dialog, "One or more files in the Adobe Application Support folder, necessary for sunning Photoshop, are missing. Please run the Photoshop installer and reinstall Photoshop."
    Where is Photoshop Installer?
This update also wiped all my extensions without warning, not so cool Adobe.

Sometimes uninstalling old versions can take out common files. I uninstalled CS4 only to get errors with CS6. I had to reinstall CS6 to get rid of the errors.
In any case you may want to keep/install CC for a while. The extensions technology has changed and what ran in CC, won't in CC 2014.
If you depend on your legacy extensions, at least you want to hold on to CC until they are updated. And of course if any glitches show up in 2014.2 and future updates, you may want CC as a backup until it's corrected.
I may have missed some details, so these links should help you.

In my organization, we restrict internet access to a specific list of approved applications by user agent string; however, it seems the user agent string for Office 365 (2013) applications has changed over time causing installs and updates of Office 365

Is there a repository of user agent strings used by Office 365 applications?

  • How can I repackage Adobe Air and updates to it in PKG format for deployment to Macs?

We have about 200 Macs in our organization and do push deployments to them using JAMF Casper (which requires that installers be in PKG format).  I am periodically asked by our security department to apply updates to Adobe Air for security reasons.  So my question is  - how can I repackage the AIR installer and updates to PKG format so I can deploy them from Casper?
I've looked at Adobe Application Manager Enterprise Edition - and it doesn't even recognize the AIR installer as an Adobe installer.
Any info you can provide would be much appreciated.

You might be able to do this by creating a bootstrapping application to launch the installer.  Here's some documentation on distributing AIR in enterprise environments along with a link to our distribution agreement.
