Photoshop Installation Issue

I am trying to install PS on my laptop (Windows 8.1). Creative Cloud shows an install button associated with Photoshop, but when I click on it, Creative Cloud does nothing, all I get is the white window with no options showing.  I was able to download Lightroom and Bridge, so I don't have issues with my internet connection or firewall.  Can anyone offer any suggestions? Thanks.

I tried renaming both the opm file and the OOBE file. And, I tried downloading by clicking on More Information (under Photoshop 2014) and then clicking on Download from the Adobe Photoshop CC product page. When I do this, the page says Photoshop is downloading now ... and it opens the Create Cloud window, again blank and nothing downloads.
I can't install Photoshop from Creative Cloud. On the Apps page, I can see the Photoshop 2014 icon and the Install button; however when I click on Install all I get is a blank page and nothing happens. I successfully installed Lightroom and Bridge from this page.

    Greetings,
when running a silent installation of Adobe Photoshop elements 6.0 the user receives this error prompt during installation:
"System Restore is turned off. If you continue Setup, you will be unable to use System Restore to restore the version of Windows Media Player that was included with the Windows operating system that your computer is running. It is recommended that you click Cancel, turn on System Restore, and then upgrade to Windows Media Player 10. For more information about System Restore, see Help and Support. However like in most deployment situations it is not an option to enable System Restore as this is a function that shall be deactivated on client machines.
Does anyone know what the photoshop installation does to invoke this and how it can be bypassed?
Why does Adobe invoke the Windows Media Format 9.5 installer if this is the case?
We have deployed dozens of apps on the to the same client machines without seeing this happen before, including other Adobe products (CS2, CS3 etc).

  • Lightroom 4.2 Installation Issue

Leaving this around in case anyone else has the same problem -- Solution found -- Windows installer issues / registry issues -- used the Microsoft Fix it tool (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2438651#reso3) to correct.  4.2 install ran fine.
I've read through the posts in the Lightroom forum regarding  LR 4.2 install issues. I will list here the things I've done to try to get the install to work:
    1) Downloaded the installation software twice.
    2) Ran the setup program in admin user mode.
    3) Ran the install in admin user mode.
    4) Get the following error in a Windows Installer window:
The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.
Click ok to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'Adobe_Lightroom_x64.msi' in the box below.
    Use source:
    c:\Users\RMJF\AppData\Local\Temp\{...}
What I have found (after displaying hidden AppData folder):
The location where the .msi file resides is different from the one defaulting in the above window.
I select this alternate path, but still cannot complete the installation.
Furthermore, when I cancel the install, I get this error:
Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.2 64-bit Installer Info
Error 1714. The older version of Adobe Photoshop Lightoom 4.2 64-bit cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group
I have been running LR since the beginning of time and most recently LR 4.1, so there is no 4.2 installed.
Also, I tried to fix the install of 4.1 via the programs in Control Panel. I cannot repair it and get this error:
The installation source for this product is not available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access it.
All versions (except the 1.0 version) were downloaded and installed from the Adobe LR site.
    So, looking for suggestions.
Seems like there are some missing files from the 4.1 version that are hindering the install of 4.2???
All quite frustrating.  Hope you can get me to a speedy solution.
(System info:  Windows Vista 64-bit Home, SP 2, 20 GB of disk space to spare!  Also, I have set the install program to be allowed by the anti-virus program. I have run a registry clean-up, as well.  No other apps are running during the install.)

  • CS5.1 overrides CS5 registry entries, how do I get the photoshop installation location safely?

    Hi there,
I'm creating a installer for my Photoshop plugins, so I need to find out Photoshop installation directory. I did this by looking for registry 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Photoshop\', but I found that CS5.1 will override the CS5 registry entries - they are both in ’HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Photoshop\12.0‘
So how can I distinguish CS5 and CS5.1 in the registry? Or how can I get the correct installation direcotry for both CS5.1 and CS5?
    Thanks,
    Daniel

You can't on Windows. On Mac they did the right thing and made a seperate .paths files. On Windows they just tromped on the CS5 registry entries with the CS5.1 entries, even though it's a completely seperate application installation with its own plugin path. Not too cool.
Although, it only matters if you encounter the probably rare corner case where a user has both CS5 and CS5.1 installed AND wants to put the plugins into the CS5 plugin path. We just punted and can only install into CS5.1 in that case, unless the user manually selects the installation location. It hasn't generated any significant support issues for us that I know of.

  • Photoshop installation affects MS Access bitmap handling

I have a problem, after installation of Photoshop CS5 in Windows, MS Access (I tried on Windows 7 and XP) does not longer show embedded bitmaps in database forms. Access can show only BMP files, so Photoshop installation somehow interferes with MS Office handling of this format. After deinstallation, everything returns to normal behaviour. The only workaround I came up is to backup Windows registry before Photoshop installation, then install it, and restore registry from backup afterwards. However, it removes all Photoshop's associations and stuff which is in registry. I wonder if anyone had the same problem, and if there are any solutions?

    Welcome to the forum.
I wonder if this in not just a simple file association issue. As PS can handle BMP's, it might change the File Type Association (Control Panel>Folder Options>File Type), and if one goes there, and re-assigns the File Type Association back to MS Access, whether it would work, as before?
I'd reinstall PS, and then change the BMP File Type Association to MS Access, and test.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • MAJOR Creative Cloud installation issues - any advice?

I purchased Adobe Photoshop a few weeks ago on an older computer and now want to install a second copy on a new computer (Mac Mini, brand new with plenty of memory and disk space)... I started by downloading Creative Cloud to install. On both Firefox and Safari, the link to install comes up as an 'address not understood...' Looks almost like a bogus link. If I skip this step and jump directly to Photoshop installation, it takes me to a page that asks me to click on the link to install Creative Cloud... and now I'm in a circle.  If I switch over and install Adobe Applications Manager, I get a message saying that the "Installer failed to initialize, please see Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem." When I click on the link in that box, the site tells me that the product is no longer available. I've been working on this problem for about three hours now, and every link I can find online to the Creative Cloud download goes to a bad address. I've also empties the browser cache, zapped the PRAM... all kinds of things. Still, no luck.  Anyone got an idea of what might be causing this? Install was so easy a few weeks back on my older Mac (both are running Mavericks most recent OpSystem....).
Any ideas or suggestions greatly appreciated!

  • CS4 Photoshop Installer Hangs

When I try installing Adobe Photoshop, the installer will pop the setup for a second or two, close it and continue system checking at 80%. Ive tried all the things the said on the Knowledge Base, and still cant get it to work ( This page to be precise http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/407/kb407428.html ) It Shows in Add/Remove that Photoshop is installed, yet if I hit the button to remove it, it Crashes the setup. I Have also tried Multiple Downloads, which futilely changed nothing.

The Photoshop installer has always been garbage. You didn't post your operating system so try this:
Turn off any anti-virus and windows defender.
If you have Adobe reader installed remove it.
Defrag the hard drive before install. I would run defrag again after install.
If you DON'T have Vista SP2 installed or Windows 7: Download and install the windows installer 4.5 as it fixed many software install issues.
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=5a58b56f-60b6-4412-95b9-54d056d6f 9f4&displaylang=en
Now is CS4 a trial downloaded from the Adobe site? If so then there is nothing you can do.
If you have downloaded the paid version off the adobe website put the whole folder on the desktop and run the .exe file, in the folder, as Admin.
If you have purchased a PS CS4 CD put the disk in the DVD drive and let it start but don't run the software. Close out of it. what you want to try is go to your computer and find the DVD drive and open or explore. Look for the .exe file, right click on that and choose run as administrator.
When you get it installed remember to run the software as Admin too. also remember to update the software to 11.0.1
If the software is installed messed up you need to run the CS4 cleaner. don't run it as 1 or 2 level, type in level 3.
also search your hard drive for any remaining adobe folders and remove them.
Also run the MS installer cleanup utility:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
You can run a free software program called CCleaner. I use it all the time to clean out left over crapola.

  • Creative Cloud Creative Cloud Photoshop installs but will not launch

Hi, my Creative Cloud Photoshop latest version installs but will not launch. When I try it opens a page with a long error code report. I uninstalled and reinstalled Photoshop several times with the same result. I downloaded and tried the Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool, as I found as a solution in the help forum, but since I uninstalled Photoshop before I ran the Cleaner Tool there are installed applications, and AdobeCreativeCloudDriver. Should I hit the clean all CS6 button at the bottom of the window. There is nothing including Photoshop in this list.
--Creative Cloud Creative Cloud Photoshop installs but will not launch

You will have to provide system info and the exact errors. Nobody can help based on vague "This doesn't work" posts.

Sorry I've been away and just got back.  Presently I'm working from jrun4 and would like to use blazeds instead.  Once my projects get going I would need the ability to use my customers already made linux/tomcat boxes and just plug in blaze.
I look forward to your answer.

Are you just trying to install and run BlazeDS? Why do you need to build from source?

  • Forms 10g Installation issue on windows 7 Professional service pack 1

    hi
I am trying to install oracle forms 10g  64 bit windows 7 Professional service pack 1 ..
Below are 2 files that i am using ..
    ds_windows_x86_101202_disk1.zip (626,122,752 bytes)
    ds_windows_x86_101202_disk2.zip (236,880,881 bytes)
But it failed but the error is ..
Checking operating system version: must be 4.0, 5.0, 5.1 or 5.2.    Actual 6.1     Failed <<<<
just wondering if there are any workaround ..

Christian is right - Forms 10g R2 (version 10.1.2.0.2) is not certified for installation on Windows 7.  You must apply a Forms 10g R2 patch to bring the version to 10.1.2.3.0 for it to be certified.  You must have a My Oracle Support account to obtain the patch.
Now, to your question - is there a workaround; the answer is yes.  There are known issues with this installer.  I'll list them and their workaround.
    1.  The Oracle installer checks for a specific set of Windows versions rather than check for a minimum Windows version.
Workaround:  Right-click the Installer and select Properties.  Click the Compatibility tab and click the checkbox: Run this program in compatibility mode for:  Windows XP SP3).
    2.  The Oracle Installer can't detect Windows Managed Virtual Memory (VM).
Workaround:  You must temporarily change the Virtual Memory settings and specify specific Initial and Maximum sizes.  See this Microsoft article for more information on changing VM settings.  http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/change-the-size-of-virtual-memory
This change will require you to restart your computer.  After you have successfully installed Oracle Forms 10g, you can restore the original VM settings.
    3.  The Oracle installer MUST be installed as an "Administrator".
Workaround:  Windows 7 uses "Least privileged user" so you must right-click the Installer and select the Compatibility tab.  Click the "Run this program as an administrator" checkbox.
    4.  Not a Oracle installer issue, but you will have to install the 32-bit version of the Oracle Java Runtime Environment (JRE) (1.6.0 - not 1.7.0) because Oracle Forms is a 32-bit application so it will not be able to use the 64-bit JRE.
Run the Oracle installer and it should now install succesfully.

Images appear fine in Photoshop cs6 and cc, but print too dark, and also show too dark in Windows picture viewer. How can I correct this? Is this a Photoshop setting issue or what?

Ok, look at your files in Photoshop. What is the profile assigned to them? You can find this out by going to the Status bar at the bottom, clicking on the right-pointing triangle and choosing document Profile from the list.
Then in Windows, go to your Control Panel > Color Management and add sRGB (if it isn't there) and select it as your default profile.
    I hope that will work.

  • NWDS installation issue - "Please wait... completing the install"

    Hi all,
I got the same "Problem" each time I update my NWDS.
[Re: NWDS installation issue.|Re: NWDS installation issue.]
After the installation, when I start the NWDS I get always the message:
    "Please wait... completing the install"
If I create a new Workspace this really solves the problem but I don't like to create every time a new workspace after an update and copy all my projects back to this new workspace.
Is there no other solution around? I think I'm not the only one who has this troubles, am I?
    Regards,
    Stefan

    Hi all,
I solved this problem by myself. So for everyone who is interested in how to solve this problem:
Just delete the folder .config in
    \workspace\.metadata\
During the next start of NWDS this folder will be created and everything will work as excpected!
