Photoshop Installation Stalled: Another Installer Is Currently Running

Upon attempting to install Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended edition, a pop up box appears which gives the message at the foot of the post, however no other installers are running. I've tried rebooting the PC and all my current software is up-to-date but this message appears every time I insert the disc and attempt to install the programme.
I’m currently running the Windows 8 operating system but as far as I’m aware this shouldn’t affect the install.
Any help would be very much appreciated as this is becoming increasingly frustrating.
THE POP UP BOX SAYS…
Adobe Installer
We've encountered the following issues
Another installer is currently running, which must be closed before installing this product. Please close other installers.

Firstly, thank you for your help and suggestions.
It seems the cause of the fault was nothing to do with Photoshop at all, but rather something to do with a recently installed version of Microsoft Office 2010.
Ultimately, shortly after my failed attempts to install Photoshop, Microsoft Office 2010 caused a computer crash, which corrupted a number of Office files and in order to avoid further complications, Windows elected to revert to an earlier back-up of the system (pre Office installation).
When I attempted to install Photoshop, following this system revert, it installed first time with absolutely NO COMPLICATIONS AT ALL.
To anyone else who receives the error message displayed at the top of this post, I urge you to check whether Microsoft Office is hampering the install.

  • How do I resolve the error "Another installer is currently running, which must be closed before updating" when updating CC on MacOS 10.9.4?

    Creative Cloud keeps alerting me to an available update but whenever I try to install it it tells me there is another installer running which must be shut down first.
    I've now shut down and restarted the Mac completely and nothing else is running but it still gives me the same error (Error code: 81). See screen shot below.
    I'm running Mavericks (OSX 10.9.4). How do I resolve this?

    Please try the mentioned steps:
    1. Navigate to Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installer and look for CC desktop, if present run the uninstaller to uninstall it.
    2. Navigate to Applications/Utilities and look for Adobe Application Manager folder and Creative cloud folder. If present move to trash and empty it.
    3. Navigate to Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE and rename to OOBE.old
    4. Download CC desktop from: https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud and try to install again.

  • While reinstalling Cloud desktop app, its stopped by message that says another installer is running

    First thing that happend was that my CC said that there was an update waiting, but I couldnt download it because a pop up window said that another installer is currently running and that I need to close it before installing the product, but there is literally nothing else running, Restarted and closed everytthing I could think of, uninstalled Cloud desktop, and when I went to download it, the same message popped up.
    Nothing is installing or updating, nothing us open. Im on a Mac, and literally nothing is open besides finder. Why can I not download the CC app? I cant download any other apps now because there is not CC app.

    Hi thrasher1992,
    Please launch Activity Monitor and close every Adobe process and then try installing CC Desktop apps. It should fix the issue.
    Please let us know if it helps.
    Regards,

  • HT1926 Trying to update the latest version of iTunes. Get message that the network I am trying to access is unavailable. That there is no installation package on the computer. I tried to uninstall and received the same message?? I am currently running Win

    When attempting to download the latest version of iTunes I receive a message that there is no installation package found (iTunes.msi).  Searching my computer, I cannot locate a file with the msi designation. Tried to use the .exe file unsuccessfully.  I am unable to remove the current version for the same reason. I have a large library of music that I cannot download on my iPhone4 for the same reason.
    Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • CS6 Design and Web Premium - Install Error "You are already running another installer,"

    Hi
    I have just downloaded CS6 Design and Web Premium and I have been having problems running the Adobe Installer on a Windows 8 HP laptop. The Adobe installer gets 75% way through the setup process and then stops with error message "Installerfailed to initialise".
    I have run Adobe Support Advisor and the error message is "cpsid_82829s6: "You are already running another installer," bootstrapper error has occurred."
    I have looked at the FAQ's and have done the following
    I have checked System Resources -> Process and I can't see any other setup programmes running
    I have run CS5 Cleaner tool and cleared out any older versions of adobe products
    Rebooted the laptop
    Tried running the Adobe Installer and the same error messages appear.
    Submitted/packaged the Adobe Support Adviser - 40-85436-165301042013
    I did prevousily have CS6 Cloud Trial running on the Laptop but all of the porgramms have been uninstalled and the CS5 Cleaner Toll appears to have cleared any remaining elements.
    I would be grateful for some help and advice in sorting this out.
    Kind regards
    Steve

    Hi
    I have hopfully attached a PDF with screen shots of the process.
    Hopefully will be of some help in resolving the problem.
    Kind regards

  • On a certain website, it says to click here to download plugin (Java). When executing the download, it says 'the installer cannot proceed with the current Internet Connection settings. I'm running 4.01. It was fine before the upgrade.

    On a certain website, it says to click here to download plugin Java Runtime Environment. I receive the message installer cannot proceed with the current Internet Connection settings. It was fine before the upgrade to 4.01. I have another PC that has IE on it and it works fine and again it worked fine until the upgrade to 4.01. I've done the off-line download but in Firefox it still says I need the plugin and still results in the installer cannot proceed with the current Internet Connection settings.

    You can install Java from here: http://www.java.com/en/<br><br>
    You also need to update your Flash installation since the one you have at the moment exposes your system to attack. It's a similar story for Adobe Reader.

    Trying to download update Itunes to 10.5, but installation interupted with error stating another installation is in progress. No other preocesses are running. Can you help?

    We can sometimes get past this particular message by reregistering the Windows Installer Service.
    First, launch a command prompt as an administrator. In your Start search, type cmd then right-click on the cmd that comes up and select "Run as administrator".
    If you have a 32 bit system
    At the command prompt:
    Type %windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /unregister and hit enter.
    Type %windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /regserver and hit enter.
    Restart the PC and try another install.
    If you have a 64-bit system
    At the command prompt:
    Type %windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /unregister and hit enter.
    Type %windir%\syswow64\msiexec.exe /unregister and hit enter.
    Type %windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /regserver and hit enter.
    Type %windir%\syswow64\msiexec.exe /regserver and hit enter.
    Restart the PC and try another install.

  • Run another installer at the end of a LabVIEW installer

    Since the DIAdem installer is not an optional installer to include with a LabVIEW built installer, I have decided to copy the files to the destination PC and run the DIAdem installer at the conclusion of my program's installer.  This does not work because there is another installer, i.e. my built installer, that is still in progress and it results in the following error.  Does anyone know of a way around this?
    Note:  I have tried it through a batch file and in another executable VI to perform the same action.

    Sounds like you've already seen this:
    Running another MSI installer Using Batch Files
    I got this working for one of my projects but I think it involved some batch file wizardry that I've since forgotten.

  • "Another installer is running" is the error message I get when trying to download

    I bought Creative Cloud but can't download the apps. I have been trying for days. It says Another installer is running and won'rt go further - but I have no other installer running.

    Which operating system are you using?  Have you tried rebooting your computer and trying again?

  • Another installer already running

    When I originally downloaded PS Elements 13 and tried to run the installer, it would always crash - telling me that another installer was already running.  I had to download the files manually.  Now the software is trying to apply an update to version 13.1 and I am having the same problem - the installer tells me that another installer is already running.
    I have rebooted my machine (running Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 x64) in case another process was hanging around from a previous software update but this makes no difference.  Anyone got any suggestions?
    Thanks!

    check your running processes in task manager.

  • The adobe application manager cannot install updates since it says that another installer is running

    The adobe application manager cannot install updates since it says that another installer is running?? Another installer is not running, any way to fix this?

    We can't know. You are not providing any system information or other details. Restart your system, make sure to sign in as admin, then try again.

  • Find the installation Path of the current running VM on Windows

    Hello,
    I have a java class started by webstart.
    In this class I would like to find the absolute path of the current running vm? This is important to me because I need to start an exe file (using ProcessBuilder) and hand it the path of the java VM,
    For example I could try something like this:
    private static File findJDK() throws Exception {
    String s = System.getProperty("java.home");
    File myJRE = new File(s);
    if (new File(myJRE, "bin/javac.exe").isFile()) {
    return myJRE;
    File parent = myJRE.getParentFile();
    if (new File(parent, "bin/javac.exe").isFile()) {
    return parent;
    for (String pathel : System.getenv("PATH").split(File.pathSeparator)) {
    File bindir = new File(pathel);
    if (new File(bindir, "javac.exe").isFile()) {
    return bindir.getParentFile();
    return myJRE;
    But I would like the above code to be more fool proof!
    For example the "java.home" could be wrongly set.
    Since java is allready running I would have hopped that I could query the Runtime. But there seems to be no method providing the running java VM path?
    I also tried looking at the jnlp services API but no luck.
    I would be also interested find the lastest java VM on the client Windows machine....
    Many greetings
