    Hello!

    I have Bridge and PS (CS6, CC and CC 2014) x64.
    Had to do a manual install to each folder.
    In Bridge I get the error
    ReferenceError: photoshop is undefined? Trying to use Dr. Brown Image Processor Pro.
    I tried both the CC and CS6 bridge same result.
    I have about 100 1GB plus files I want to size down. and need Image processor.
    Any Advice?
    I tried Dr. Brown's JUST FIX IT, bit it just brought me to the script editor. I'm not a programmer.
    Any advice will be appreciated.

    I wonder if this PDF Processor script would work better for you:

  • Script error - "photoshop is undefined"

    I have been having problems working from Bridge CC to Photoshop CC and also Lightroom to Photoshop CC on my Mac 10.9.2.
    These are the scripting errors I have been getting:
    1. Trying to open a DNG file from Lightroom into Photoshop
    SCRIPT EXECUTION ERROR Sat Apr 19 14:54:28 2014
    Error in Line 92: photoshop.openFromLightroom ( file, /* required. path to file to open */ photoshop is undefined
    2. Trying to open images from Bridge into Photoshop
    SCRIPT EXECUTION ERROR Sat May 10 15:13:48 2014
    Error in Line 1: photoshop.loadFilesIntoStack ([new File ("~/Pictures/2014.05.10_001/img_001.jpg"), new File ("~/Pictures/2014.05.10_001/img_002.jpg"), new File ("~/Pictures/2014.05.10_001/img_003.jpg")]); photoshop is undefined
    I can open a DNG file from Lightroom to Photoshop as a smart object, but it will not do a simple file transfer.
    I have also flattened my Mac, reinstalled the operating system, reinstalled the Adobe CC tools and it still does not work.
    I have also checked permissions on appropriate folders and files. It is like my old Windows days where an application path of a program is not correctly defined in the Windows registry.
    Help would be appreciated. Right now I have three Adobe products that have little integration between them.
    Thanks
    Randy

    OK, I found the solution to my problem. This is weird.
    I have struggled getting the Adobe products to work together. I have flattened my Mac system twice, reinstalled Adobe products and it never fixed my problem. I was a rare instance in the Adobe Forum where Adobe products would not work together.
    To solve the problem, I decided to flatten my hard drive again and reinstall Adobe products again. Lightroom CC, Photoshop CC and Bridge CC. Finally this time the Adobe products all of a sudden started working together.
    Next, when I plugged my main external hard drive back in, the Adobe products quit working again. I tried plugging another external hard drive in and Adobe products worked OK. So I figured that the one hard drive was causing the problem.
    Here is why it was causing the problem:
    Apple Mac OS X has a folder called LIBRARY at the system level that contains all the support files needed for the operating system.
    Apple Mac OS X also has a folder called LIBRARY at the user level that contains all of the support files needed for user installed applications.
    I has an external USB drive that I named LIBRARY. Whenever I plugged that in, Adobe saw it and for some reason thought it was an official LIBRARY drive that had information that Adobe needed. Needless to say, there was no data Adobe could use. Adobe was faked out by the name of an attached USB drive and crapped out when Adobe products needed to integrate.
    So I renamed the USB drive to LIBRARY MAIN and all the Adobe products started working together.
    So the moral of the story is that either users need to quit naming external drives to LIBRARY or Adobe needs to quit looking at external hard drives for needed runtime information.
    I hope this helps.

  • Cannot open : Error 2  Photoshop is Undefined

    When I try to open Bridge from Photoshop CS5, I get the message:
    Error 2 Photoshop is undefined
    Line: 1
    ->  photoshop.invokeBridge (false, false, '');

    Guess a little sleepy when I posted.  You need to hold down the ctrl key and start
    Bridge.  Some users have to click on Bridge
    icon and then IMMEDIATELY hold down the Crtl key.  Should get a
    reset window.
    The icon I am talking about is the desktop shortcut icon to open Bridge.

  • Error 2 photoshop is undefined

    I am having an error 2 problem when I am using Lightroom 5.5 (updated a couple of days ago) to open as smart object in Photoshop CC (also updated a couple of days ago) and do some editing using NIK plugins. (I use the Photographers Plan for CC.) This is NOT the CC 2014 which I uninstalled yesterday because I didn't see the need to download all my 3rd party plugins again and not using all the perks of new version anyways! But that is another issue. I use a desktop with Windows 7, 64-bit OS.
    My error reads as follows:
    Error 2: photoshop is undefined
    Line: 1
    - photoshop.notifyLightroomDocClosed (`lightroom-2.0`, `A4E67B5D-9602-4368-BA38-3FD9BDC84243`,")
    Does anyone know what and why this is happening? Thanks for your help.

    Please check Photoshop (2014) Extensions greyed out, extension manager not recognizing photoshop 2014
    Hope it helps you,
    Regards

  • Error 2 Photoshop is undefined   Line: 1 -   photoshop.invokeBridge(false,false, ");

    Error 2 Photoshop is undefined
    Line: 1
    ->  photoshop.invokeBridge (false, false, '');
    I always get this error whenever I would try to open my bridge. And for some reason I can't even find bridge icon, I probably accedentally deleted it. But is there anything I can do to fix this problem? I tried to download and install CS 5 Bridge update wouldn't help at all. PLZ HELP!!!!!!!

    Bridge is not a seperate product.  It is part of Photoshop or a Photoshop suite, so can not be downloaded.
    If you type in Bridge.exe in the windows search box does it find the file?
    If not you will have to reinstall Photoshop or what suite you bought.  If that is the case I would uninstal them first and then reinstall.  If you deleted Bridge you probable fouled up file associations.

  • Error Message:  "Error 2: photoshop is undefined" ????

    I've looked both on the Adobe site & in this Forum to see if this error message is addressed, and I do not find it anywhere. Here's what I get every time I open CS2:
    Error 2: photoshop is undefined
    Line:1
    -> photoshop launchBridgeInBackground ();
    I click OK & PS opens.
    Doing this on my Intel Duo iMac, OS 10.4.11, 2GB
    Is there a Fix for this issue?
    What does it mean & what effect, if any, does this have?
    Do I need to do anything about this?
    Thank you.

    Nevertheless, the suggested solutions apply.
    For instance:
    Solution 2: Re-create Photoshop and Bridge preferences.
    Solution 3: Delete the Adobe StartupScripts folder, and then remove and reinstall all Adobe Creative Suite 2.0 applications.
    etc

    Adobe has a fix for this if using Tiger, but it doesn't correct the problem in 10.3.9. Thought I'd try here... TIA

  • RE: Error Message "photoshop is undefined"

    Hello Everyone.
    Few weeks ago I had to Uninstall the whole Creative Cloud, and I then I Installed the Premiere Pro CS6, and Encore CS6, and Other CC Applications such as Photoshop CC.
    I did not Installed the Photoshop CS6, since I have the CC Version.
    I have this Menu In the Encore, and I want to do some Editing and Modify to that Menu. When I click on Photoshop I  get this Error Message..  I think It is because I don't have the Photoshop CS6 Installed in my computer.
    Is there a way I  can go to the setting and change it so It work with Photoshop CC, or do I have to Install Photoshop CS6 ?
    Thanks.

    Dear Mr. Stan.
    About few weeks ago My Creative Clouds were not running. I was told from the Creative Clouds Forum, to Uninstall and Reinstall all the Adobe applications, and Reinstall the whole thing.
    After Installing PS CC, and other Adobe CC Programs. I found out there Is no Encore CC. So I had to Download the Premiere Pro CS6, to get the Encore CS6.
    Under Premiere Pro CC Downloads there was More Information, and When I clicked there, I had a choice of Downloading Premiere Pro CS6. But now I don't see any way I can Download PS CS6. I wonder some-where Inside the preferences, If I can change the setting, so It would look for Photoshop CS6, or Even Photoshop CS5.
    If I cant get the Photoshop working, with Encore,  I would not be able to Edit any Menu's...
    That's where I am standing.
    Any Help Please.
    Thanks

  • I can't get Dr Browns Image Processor Pro to work from Bridge with Photoshop CC 2014

    We use the wonderful DR Browns Image Processor Pro script a lot, but cannot get it to work from Bridge with PS CC 2014. When I select files in Bridge CC and then go to Tools> Dr Browns Services 2.3.1 > Image Processor Pro it just pops up an error message that says ReferenceError: photoshop is undefined.
    The actual script works fine if I launch it from Photoshop CC 2014 - just not if I load it from Bridge CC.
    I have unistalled it and re installed a few times, both manually and through the Extension Manager CC.
    I am using a Win 7 64bit computer.
    I assume there is some change in the scripting part that loads Photoshop from bridge but not sure. It worked fine in CC. Just not CC 2014.
    I opened the Dr Browns Services .jsx file but don't see anything obvious. This is the section related to the Image Processor Pro part:
      // This routine takes an array of files. If called by Photoshop,
      // it will invoke Dr. Brown's Process 1-2-3 with the files. If called by
      // any other app, it will send a BridgeTalk message to Photoshop
      // to invoke this routine with the same arguments.
    drbrownserv.process123 = function (files) {
    // Bring Photoshop to the foreground.
      BridgeTalk.bringToFront ("photoshop");
      // Create a new BridgeTalk message for Photoshop to invoke
      // Image Processor with the selected files
      var btMessage = new BridgeTalk;
    btMessage.target = "photoshop";
      btMessage.body = "drbrownserv.process123 (" + files.toSource () + ");";
      btMessage.send ();
      } else {
    photoshop.runActionCommand ('611736f0-9c46-11e0-aa82-0800200c9a66', files);
      catch (error) {
      if (error.number != 8007) // Don't report user cancelled errors.
      drbrownserv.alert (error);

    I copied that .jsx file to a new name "Xbytor Image Processor Pro.jsx" edit that file changed the string Dr Browns services to "Xbytor Image Processor Pro" then commented out all the code that added tools menu items but "Image Processor Pro" and I put that file into
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Startup Scripts CC\Adobe Bridge" even though Bridge CC is 64Bit seems to use theat location.
    Bridge CC was updated by the creative clouds update and opens Photoshop CC 2014 now

  • Error message when trying to edit a menu in Photoshop.

    Hi,
    Having a horrible time with Encore. The latest niggle is with a menu I want to edit in Photoshop.
    It's a simple four button menu with a single highlight created inside Encore. It has an animated background created in the usual way. When I try to select "Edit Menu in Photoshop" I get the following error message:
    "Unable to execute script at line 0. photoshop is undefined"
    I've searched the internet, found no refernce. Updated all my CS6 apps, problem remains.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello,
    That is quite unusual.  Usually both programs connect to each other accurately.  I was even able to use and older version of photoshop (i.e. cs5) and have encore cs6 link up to it.
    Is your photoshop installation in the same directory as encore?  Like "Program Files > Adobe > Encore / Photoshop"  Are you using the 32bit version of photoshop or 64bit version?  And what about Encore?
    And can you also provide a screenshot of the error?
    Thanks

  • I don't have Mini Bridge in my Photoshop

    So I was making a GIF project and found out that I needed to use Mini Bridge but I don't have it in the tabs on the right side of Photoshop.
    I tried going to Windows to open it through Extentions but it was greyed out. And I also went to Edit>Preferences to go open up startup scripts but the only things there was Interface, File Handling, Performance, Cursors, Transparency & Gamut, Units & Rulers, Guides Grid & Slices, Plug-in, and Type.
    Can anyone please help me? It would be much appreciated

    When I use Browse in Bridge it says

    And my Browse in Mini Bridge is Grayed out

  • Bridge to Photoshop Automate lost

    I just got a new iMac with OS 10.5.7.  Photoshop and Bridge were working beautifully for the first couple of days.  This morning I cannot access Photoshop through the Bridge Tools menu to use Image Processor and other items.  I have some Russell Brown scripts in this menu, but when I try to use them I get the message, "Reference error:  Photoshop is undefined."  What does this mean?  How can I fix it?
    I have re-created my Preferences to no avail.  I have reinstalled and updated Photoshop to no avail.
    I am desperate with a deadline crashing in on me.
    Thank you.

    Do you mean refresh when you say recreated?
    To be sure, restart Bridge holding down option key and choose refresh
    preferences. After this reset the prefs to your wishes and doublecheck if
    the Photoshop Start up script in bridge Pref's is selected.
    Also see if the batch and Russel Brown script will work in Photoshop itself
    using the automate menu.
    If still no luck try to refresh the preferences for PS itself by restarting
    PS with holding down shift + Option(alt) + Cmd key together and choose to
    delete the current preferences. (also reset them to your wishes (some
    settings need a restart for PS to be affected.
    If still no luck quit both apps and delete the plist files for both Bridge
    and PS from your preferences folder in the user library and try again.
    I have re-created my Preferences to no avail.  I have reinstalled and updated
    Photoshop to no avail.

  • Lr 5.5 edit in Photoshop  CC 2014 - Images do not open

    Selecting Edit in Photoshop 2014 on an image in Lr opens Photoshop CC 2014 but the image is not displayed.
    If I select an image and select Open as Smart Object in Photoshop the image does open as as Smart Object but editing and then saving brings this error;

    Pulling my hair out as PS is now unusable with Lr and cannot see a way of going back and reinstalling Photoshop CC - is there a known cure for this?!

    Went to the link and looked at the Install section and followed this;
    Open the Creative Cloud app, and go to the Apps panel.
    Filter the apps by Previous Versions.
    Choose a version from the Install menu.
    I installed Photoshop CC and set this up as my alternative edit program in Lr and it works!!

  • Illustrator script to open file in Photoshop

    The Bridge SDK has a script to open a selected file in Photoshop.
    Can this  be done from Illustrator instead?
    It seems that the cross-dom function open() should work in either an illustrator or bridge script, yet the following does NOT work in Illustrator.
    Fresh from the Bridge 5.1 SDK, it doesn't work in Bridge either, but that's for a different forum.
    var t = app.activeDocument.fullName;
    Photoshop.open(new File(t));
    It provides me with Error 2: Photoshop is undefined.
    So, any ideas on how to make this work?
    This is all leading up to the real problem, which is to create a 150dpi jpg file, which Illustrator won't do.
    Thanks All.
    --Alex

    There are several ways in which you could get you output *jpeg to 72 dpi at a given set of dimensions… On way would be to scale the whole art in AI before exporting it… Up to you if you save this change or not… You can have PS open the image and alter the resolution after exporting… Or on the mac you could use some utility like the shell SIPS which you also have AppleScript access to via Image Events scripting… Anyhows here is a very basic example of how th pass a file object to PS using the bridgetalk messaging system… The Adobe way of doing it so to speak… I included a filp just so's you could see the changes made… Have fun…
    #target illustrator
    var aiFile = File( '~/Desktop/zdfb.jpg' );
    var psScript = 'app.displayDialogs = DialogModes.NO;';
    psScript += 'app.open(' + aiFile.toSource() + ');';
    psScript += 'app.activeDocument.resizeImage( undefined,undefined,72,ResampleMethod.NONE);';
    psScript += 'app.activeDocument.flipCanvas( Direction.HORIZONTAL );';
    psScript += 'app.activeDocument.close( SaveOptions.SAVECHANGES );';
    psScript += 'app.displayDialogs = DialogModes.ALL;';
    //$.writeln( psScript );
    btMessaging( 'photoshop',psScript );
    function btMessaging( targetApp, script ) {
              var bt = new BridgeTalk();
              bt.target = targetApp;
              bt.body = script;
              bt.onResult = function( inBT ) { alert( 'Done…' ) };
              bt.onError = function( inBT ) { alert( 'NOT Done…' ) };
              bt.send( 20 );
    There are numerous ways in which you can construct the script 'string' contents on the fly but you get the general idea…
