Photoshop Layer Effects not recognized

Since it's so easy in photoshop to apply a layer effect, shadow, lighting, etc, i thought we could get it while creating a button, but i had no success.
Do we really have to flatten the effects of the photoshop file ?

Photoshop CS5 extended not recognizing all of my system memory

I reinstalled photoshop CS5 and prior to that the 3D repousse tool was not working properly but the performance section recognized all 16 GB of memory I have. After the reinstall, it only recognizes 3.5. This is very strange and I am at a loss of how to solve this issue. My system is dual quad core AMD opertons with 2.01 GHz of speed. 16GB of DDR2 RAM and a Nvidia GTX 285 Graphics card. OS is Windows 7 premium. All drivers have been updated as of today. Please let me know if you had the same problem and let me know how you fixed it.

Are you running Windows 32 bit? That prevents 64 bit apps from running.
If you are running a 64 bit version of Windows, and the 64 bit version of Photoshop -- then Photoshop should see most of your installed RAM (can use all of it because of OS overhead and the size of the binaries).

Photoshop CS6 is not recognizing my Epson Photo 1400 printer...how to fix?

I cannot print anything from Photoshop CS6. When i try to print any / all types of files from Photoshop CS6 to my Epson Photo 1400 printer, I get the following error message:
"There was an error opening your printer. Printing functions will not be available until you have selected a printer and reopened any documents."
I can print all / anything (.pdf .tif.png, etc.) from ALL other applications-except from Photoshop.
I only have one printer and it is recognized in my System Prefs.
I have OS X 10.9.2 (13C64) and Photoshop 13.0 x64
What to do....?

I have the current version of PS and the most current printer driver. I deleted the Adobe CS6 Prefs.psp file and relaunched PS. I actually got closer this time, it looked like i could print but then i got this error message: ColorSync color matching may produce different results than printer color management. Either Photoshop color management or printer color management is recommended. I clicked Ok , the print preview window no longer showed my document and when I went to hit the print button, the original error message came up again. I go to File / Print and Print is no disabled (grayed out).

Photoshop layer names not appearing in DVDSP

DVDSP 4.0.3, Photoshop 7.0, MacBook 2GHz, OS 10.4.10
Once I've brought my .psd file in to SP and added it to a layered menu, the layers appear, but their names do not, and I can't turn them off and on either. For example, in the inspector, under the 'General' tab of a layered menu I am unable to select which layer I want to show. The odd thing is that the correct number of layers appear- I made 9 layers in Photoshop, and 9 layers appear in the inspector, but under their name is just a '-' and I can't select the check-box under 'show.' Likewise when I create a button- can't select any individual layers. I've experienced this problem with three different psd files. Anybody seen this before?

I have just found the same issue.
For me, I believe it is because the domains are only used in matching rules, which the SSIS task does not support. Therefore they are not in the drop down as the SSIS DQS task cannot use them. Only map domains for data correction and you should be ok.

Spry effects not recognizing classes

When adding a spry effect to an <img> element, it will pick up on ID's but not classes.

In the spry effect dialogue, it will let me select the current img tag, but if i were to specify a second class

then it wouldnt work because it can only recognize the current selection instead of the individual styles like i can do with an ID (which wont work for multiple styles as there can be only one id per element).

It makes it very hard for us to know what you are trying to achieve without seeing some code hence I shall give you some code to work with

Just copy and paste the above code into a new document, make sure that you do have SpryEffects.js in the SpryAssets folder and try it out.

Photoshop Elements 11 not recognizing my CR2 file

I've previously updated Elements 11 so it would recognize my CR2 files from my Canon 6D. But now I get the message when I try to open a file that "the file could not be opened because it appears to be from a model that is not supported by the installed version of Camera Raw." Now what do I do

Thanks for the update.
A while back, with a Windows 7 64 bit laptop, I ran into that "The update server is not responding. The server might be offline temporarily, or the internet settings may be correct. Please try again later." when I was trying to update Camera Raw in Photoshop Elements with its Full Editor/Help Menu/Update.
A friend suggested the fix that worked for her and then subsequently worked for me. I do not recall all the details but it was based on disabling the laptop's Window 7 64 bit's "Microsoft Virtual Wifi Miniport Adapter". I believe that she said the path to it was:
Control Panel
Network and Internet Sharing Center
Change Adapter Settings
followed by a right click on "Microsoft Virtual Wifi Miniport Adapter" and selection of disable. Are you having the same download problem trying to download from Help Menu/Update from any other version of Photoshop Elements?
She also suggested that a Bluetooth interference was possible. That did not apply in my case.
No guarantees on this one, just a fuzzy recollection for what worked for me on one particular laptop. Proceed with caution if you do find the Microsoft Virtual Wifi Miniport Adapter included on the computer that you have.

Photoshop Elements 10 not recognizing .NEF files from Nikon D3200 camera

I've been using Photoshop Elements 10 to edit raw .NEF files from my Nikon D3000 with no problems. Recently I purchased a Nikon D3200 and I shoot in raw .NEF files using that also but Photoshop Elements 10 will not recognize those .NEF files to edit. The error I'm getting is saying the file type is not correct. Any way to correct this?

For the D3200 you have two alternatives:
(1) Upgrade to PSE 11. (2) Download and install the free Adobe DNG converter to convert your NEF files to the Adobe universal Raw format and the files will open in all versions of PSE (keep your original NEF’s as backups and for use in Nikon software)

Photoshop Elements 12 not recognizing my Canon 60D on an iMac

Hello,
My Photoshop Elements 12 Organizer will not recognize my Canon 60D device on my iMac. I will only sporadically recognize and download photos from my cameras (a Canon 60D, a Canon Rebel xti, and a Canon Elph). I NEVER had this problem with my PC. I know it is not the AV cord since the iMac photo download program recognizes them just fine when it is plugged in, so it has to be the softward. Any ideas?

I have never had any issues with Premiere (Pro, or Elements) seeing my Canon ZR60.
A couple of things to think about:
Though Windows seems to be seeing your camera (you get the Bing-Bong, when you turn it on, right?), if you have Win7-64, you might want to check out this ARTICLE.
When you launch the Capture module in PrE, is the camera connected, turned on, and in playback mode? Though I have never had an issue with Capture, I have a slightly different model. Some users have found that the order that they do things can be important, depending on the camera. For some, connecting the camera, turning it on, and setting the playback mode, BEFORE either launching Premiere, and then launching the Capture module works best. For others, they have found that the program and Capture module need to be launched, before the connected camera is turned on, and placed into playback mode. The order can affect how things work.

Reinstall Photoshop CS6, serial # not recognized

Please help. Had to reformat pc. Trying to reinstall photoshop cs6 but installer says my serial no. is not valid. It was an upgrade so went back and tried previous serial no., that didn't work. Tried, original serial no. of cs2 and that didn't work. Help.....

If its an update you will need two serials. Your upgrade serial and one of your prior upgrade serial or you original product serial. You should be able to get these serials by logging on to Adobe.com with your Adobe user ID and Password. Then go to My Adobe then My Producrs and click on your CS6 and Prior products to see your serial numbers.

After Effects not recognizing Red Rocket?

Hi everyone,
I'm having serious troubles with a Red Rocket in AE CS6. Nothing I have done will get AE to recognize the rocket. Premiere seems to recognize it and use it just fine.
The card is clearly installed correctly; it works in Red Cine X and Premiere, giving realtime performance with 4k footage @ 29.97 fps, with minimal processor load (~7%). If I force AE to try to use the card with Interpret Footage > Main > More Options... > Use Rocket, the system slows to a crawl and fails to perform at all. (It may take 10-30 seconds to update when the cursor is moved in the timeline.)
It does not appear to be simply that the red rocket card is not being released by another program -- at least, when I restart the system and open After Effects first, the symptoms are identical.
The rocket is on the latest firmware -- 1.4.27, I believe. I have done everything possible to confirm that the card is not the problem, including opening a support ticket with Red and sending the physical unit back to them for testing.
I have tried replacing the ImporterREDServer.exe and ImporterRED.prm with the Adobe Labs version from May/June 2012, that appears to have no effect.
I'm running Windows 7 on a dual 8-core Xeon system with 128 GB of RAM. There are also two GTX 680 graphics cards, one on each processor bus, installed in the system. I'm running the latest, updated versions of Creative Suite CS6, and there is no antivirus or firewall installed or running.
Thoughts? Directions? Things to test? Or should I junk the card or the workflow? I'm pretty committed to Adobe After Effects at the moment, though this experience has me strongly considering Smoke, Nuke, or something else for the future (the switching costs are high).

In case anyone else ends up here:
It appears the best performance I can get in AE CS6 is about 6 fps at full quality. I think this qualifies as 'working' -- it's only 4 fps when I'm not using the card, and processor load is higher. At least it's stable now.
The fix was: reinstalling AE, reinstalling all Nvidia drivers, and shuffling the cards into different PCI slots. Not sure which made a difference. Also, moderating my expectations about what a red rocket could do in AE -- I've read that recent machines only see a performance gain while rendering, and everyone is turning them off during compositing work.

Audacity effects not recognized by iTunes?

I imported some CD music into iTunes, and opened up the music into Audacity. So far so good. I did some editing of the music, including some fade-ins and fade-outs. But when I play back the finished product through iTunes, the fading effects do not work! The music is still heard, but the fade effects are not. I went back and checked the file in Audacity, and it's fine--when I play it through Audacity, the fades are there.
All the other editing (cutting and pasting) works fine. Can anyone help? Thanks.

And then you added this version to iTunes, yes?
You should have at least 2 versions of the song in iTunes. The original plus the edited.
Works here.
Open a song with Audacity.
Edit it and save it.
Add it to iTunes.
Select the edited version, not the original, and it plays the edits just fine.
Since I was only testing, I delete the edited version from iTunes and the original stays.

Photoshop CS2 is not recognizing my install

Vector layer effects not showing up in comp

I'm working on my first After Effects project and would really appreciate any help.
Everything was working fine and now none of the transformations or effects I add to the layers of newly added vector files want to work.
They are visible when I open up the comp for the vector file, but they aren't rendering in the main comp.
Any ideas on what could be wrong? I probably disabled something by accident

Nobody can tell you anything without proper system info or other technical details like what version of AE or for that matter what kind of "vector layers", comp details and so on. you are throwing around a lot of vague statements.
