Photoshop Layer Styles do not come over to FCP

I have a .psd file. It's a logo on one layer with a blank (alpha channel) as the background. I want to put a stroke on the logo. In photoshop, I use blending options to add my stroke.
When I import the file into FCP, it does not have the stroke. I tried other effects (drop shadow, bevel, etc) and none of those come over to FCP either.
So is it known that photoshop does not recognize the photoshop layer styles? Or am I doing something wrong?

Wonder what I'm doing wrong...
Even if I can somehow do this, why can't FCP just understand these layer styles... It works so well with photoshop, but there's this one issue. And if I rasterize it, I'm not going to be able to make it bigger later. Kind of defeats the purpose of wanting to go back and edit it later on..

Which version of Acrobat are you using?
Which signature style are you talking about?
You can go ahead and try uninstalling and reinstalling it and see if that works for you .
Use the cleaner tool to uninstall it .Here is the link.

Glass and Metal Photoshop layer styles

Just wanted to share some of my Photoshop layer styles with my fellow Apple users I've been working on these for a while now, building up a huge collection of textures (from my own photography) and turning them into styles. Hope you like them.
These are some of my metal styles for Photoshop, from a set called MetalWorks Professional. All in all, there are 140 different metal styles in the set, including gold, silver, aluminum, copper, and steel.
And these are a few of my glass Photoshop styles, from a set called GlassWorks Professional. This set includes 320 transparent styles, in red, green, blue, and clear glass. They're excellent for creating glass text effects, or decorative designs.

Banner does not come over in correct size from AI

I have an AI document that's 24"x60". When I bring into PS cs5 it does not come over in the same size. It show it's 48"x19".
When I increase the image and camvas things are not in the correct place.

I would double check to make sure that you have selected the options for syncing. Look over the article below to make sure you have the items that you want selected to sync over.

Photosmart and Photo imaging had on old printer did not come over on new computer.

Hi, I had a HP photosmart poto imaging on my old computer but it did not come over onto my new computer. I really like this program because when I was copying home pictures for my family it allowed me to choose size of film, size of image and several at one time. I have tried to find something compatible and so far no luck. I tried copying it from old to new and that didn't work. I am hoping that there is a new program with the same abilities. Print shop and Publisher does not do what I want even though Stables said it would. These programs allows me to bring it over to Works but when I do that and I want to ajust size of image for several or to reduce size of a larger picture it can become distorted.Any suggestions about getting a new software program. I think they program originally came over when I had a camera and was transfering the images from it.so help

I had to restore my iPad recently and in opening Pages again found that even though I synced my iPad and backed it up my files did not come over to the restored iPad. Is there any way of recouperating them? Thanks!

working files aare not backed up as far as I know. You must either 1)"copy to itunes", then use itunes to save as... to your desktop machine. Or 2) use iCloud to keep the docs.
I also learned this the hard way. No way i know of to get the working docs back.

Imported video but audio did not come over

I imported a .flv file - the video came over but the audio did not. I can see the mouse movement on the video but no sound. Any ideas?

Your keywords (tags) are by stored by default in the catalog. You can also 'Write metadata to files' if you wish, but an Organizer restore does restore the tags of the files in the restored catalog; that is only necessary if you re-import the pictures in a new catalog or if you use another backup software.

Photoshop layer style in Flash?

I know about the import> stage etc. but using that just
brings in it as picture and normal text which won't have the layer
style. I don't want to delete the text I already have there because
it has an effect on it which I don't really remember how to get
again lol
I'm also not sure which layer the effect is... Why can't they
just add a copy and paste layer style between programs...

Thanks for your reply!! I'm glad somebody finally answered my lsst post.
After a few days of waiting for a reply, I gave up tried on my own.
Again I unintalled, turned off my antivirus (Avast)and reinstalled. Again no change. After doing this three times, on my fourth try I thought, what the heck, what harm can I do disabling my firewall also. Bingo!!!. I guess I always thought my Antivirus Program and Firewall were two different securities. That should be pointed out when told to disable your antivirus. Don't you think? I'm not a newbie by any means. It just goes to show you, you learn something new everyday.
Anyway I'm glad the problem is solved.

Photoshop Layer Styles and Encore Help

I've made a background in PS CS3 with buttons, the buttons have an outer glow layer style applied to them, when I import the (background & buttons) as a menu into Encore CS3 the buttons show up with a stoke effect and not the glow effect that was applied in PS CS3.
This is my first Encore project so is there something I'm doing wrong!!

My guess is that you have applied the "glow" to the highlight (subpicture) layer of the button. A subpicture can consist of max 3 pure colors which isn't nearly enough to render a glow effect in.
The only way to simulate the glow effect as button highlight is by using this workaround technique:

(This is not a recommendation. I would rather suggest to rework your menu design so that it doesn't need workarounds.)

PS CS: Why is 'Layer Styles' suddenly not working?

I have a brand new Imac with OSX 10.6.2 and runing PS CS although I cannot recall which version it is it was purchased around 2003.
I got the new imac 2 months ago and was happily using PS when suddenly when I double click on any layer to get to the layer palette most of photoshop becomes inaccessbile with menu selections being grey and the palette not responding. Its almost as though it has opened the layers style window but I cannot see it (although I cannot recall if doing that when it did work meant most things were inaccessible).
I have to force quit and if I don't I get an error message anyway and ps closes down.
I trashed the version of ps I was using and then installed it again but the problem continues. Actually now I remember it before this started happening I was opening PS and I suddenly got a box telling me various extensions were not accessible but it quickly disappeared and I haven't seen that box again.
Also around the point this issue started occuring I downloaded a Microsoft file for operating a pc remotely (for work purposes). I have deleted that file in case that was the issue but the issue remains.
I have googled this problem and came across something similar which suggested the user with the problem reset the preferences to factory as deleting and reinstalling doesn't erase preference settings which may be causing the problem.
Is this a known issue? I have been a photoshop user for 10 years now and never had a problem before that wasn't clearly a result of my mac being old and I was asking too much of it.

Restting your preferences is a possible fix, since preferences files
do get corrupted every so often.
I don't think it's really a known issue, but it happens for whatever reason.

Why will siri maps not come over car radio?

I cannot get siri to talk over my car radio for the maps feature. The only way I can hear her is if I have the auxiliary (mp3 or iPod) selected. Is there a setting on the phone or maybe on my car that I don't know about. I have a 2012 Hyundai Tucson.
