Photoshop merged my layers for me, can I recover

I exported a project as a pdf by clicking Save As under the file menu, then I saved the original psd by choosing Save As again and selecting PSD this time. When I came back to the project today all the layers had been merged into one. I _never_ merged them myself. Is there any way I can recover all that work or have I been hosed by this "feature"?

Hi and welcome to the forum. The answer to your question depends on whether you have closed the image file in Photosho since you di the Save as. if not you can step back through History. If that is the case, then open the History panel from the Window menu. If you have closed the file between the save as, and noticing the problem, you are out of luck. It is a good idea to use a different name when saving a PSD file as a JPG or PDF, because there is always the chance you will do a reflex Ctrl/Cmd s later on, and overwrite the PSD file. I have done it myself more than once.

Wanting Photoshop CS2 or 3 for Mac can no longer trade my version thru Adobe

I called Adobe and they can no longer send me a Mac version in place of my windows since it is an older version. They said check on here and hopefully someone would be kind enough to upload to me or send me the Mac version.

You miss understood they meant perhaps you could find someone here who had an extra license they would be willing to sell you, even if they did not use those exact words.
If your iMac supports CS4 it would cost you the same thing more then likely.
BTW legal or illegal if you used someone else's cross grade install it would be a waste of time as your windows serial number will not work on the Mac version. The $20 fee for the cross grade is for the Mac serial number which you can only get from Adobe but they do not sell it anymore.
Illegal or not it would not work, the support meant perhaps you could buy a Mac license for CS2 or 3 if someone wanted to part with their license for some reason.
Do yourself a favor upgrade to CS 4 if your iMac supports it and if not upgrade your iMac as well. You will be much happier, much more productive and it will prove more profitable.

Lost 2 of 3 Control Files for 8i - Can I recover?

I had a hard drive crash and lost 2 of my 3 CONTROL files for my 8.1.6 database. I do have a backup, but I also have a 9i database on this machine and am afraid I will have to reinstall both of them. Is there a way that I will be able to restore my database (aka rebuild the control files) from just ONE Control File?

That's the reason you have 3 control files - so that you can recover from losing one of them. In theory (and also in practice) all 3 control files are exact copies of each other. Just copy the remaining one to the location(s) where Oracle is expecting to see the other 2 controlfiles.

Nothing personal to you or Rajshee, but this is exactly why I absolutely despise these "community forums" (not just Adobe but any company). I called the Tech Support phone line today after digging and digging for a phone number, and they told me the exact opposite, and they did it a lot faster than it was possible to get a forum response. (That's really not personal, because you can't control that, but it's a fact.)
Their answer: As long as I'm signed in with the same ID, I can try, say, Photoshop CC on my iMac at home and also try Acrobat Pro CC on my Windows 7 machine at work. Same account, same login, one trial.
This makes complete sense to me as I'm financially on the hook (potentially) for the same package. If I give away my login to someone else, which I wouldn't do, I'm still on the hook. This is why the cloud approach to software is such genius and I applaud it.
BTW, 99% of the "community forum" wrong answers come on Microsoft sites, so don't feel bad.

Theoretically you can use the itunes version to qualify for adobe's upgrade discount, but that's it. All download versions are single platform. And in many countries the street price of the full version of PSE is less than adobe's upgrade price, so it's usually not worth pursuing that. However, if you wish to, I'm told you use your apple ID as your serial number when asked. I don't know anyone who's done this, so I don't know how well it really works.

I exported a map to PDF on ESRI ArcGIS Engine and found that there were more layers than I had expected.
And so I want to delete or merge some of the layers.
I found the way in Acrobat Pro Application, but cannot found the way in Acrbat SDK.
Could you let me know how to delete or merge the layers with Acrobat SDK (C#).

I understand what you've done now. You used the "Set Layer Visibility" command which sets the on/off state of all the layers at once. What you need is a more subtle approach, one that will only change the state of the specific layer associated with the button, not the rest of them (so that you could have multiple layers enabled at the same time). The way to do that is by using a script.
I wrote the script for you and applied it to the top-left counties (WILLIAMS and FULTON), in the attached file. You can now copy the actions I associated with those buttons to the rest of them, and it should work as you want it to.

UPDATE: Here's the answer! You must download and install the "Creative Cloud" application with your existing Adobe ID. There you will find all of the "Try" buttons for the new CC applications, but also an actual "Install" button for the "Touch App Plugin" application!

You can try re-installing Reflow, the plugin gets automatically installed as long as Photoshop is already installed. You can also download it from this link:
