Photoshop not finding scanner

photoshop recognizes my printer, but not the scanner part. When I choose File-Import, it is not listed, but if I choose to print, that part is ok.I scan a lot. I am also working with a new computer,with WIN 8.1, which is complicating everything

You need scanning software installed on your Mac. Unfortunately, it appears your scanner does not have any HP drivers for Macs. It's a Windows-only scanner. There is a third-party product you can try that is supposed to support your scanner - VueScan.

I just bought a HP Officejet 150 Mobile All-in-One. I installed the complete software package (downloaded from HP Site) with bluetooth on a windows 7 Acer Aspire S5 laptop. Printing seems to work fine, but when starting HP Scan, i get the following error message:
Saing that the software can not find the scanner with suggestions to solve it.
Is it possible to scan with a buetooth connection? Any other suggestions what is going wrong?

Scanning is not supported through a Bluetooth connection, only printing is available for such connectivity, You will need a USB in order to scan:

NOTEcan functions are not available through a Bluetooth connection. Scan functions are supported only through a USB connection.

I see by your post that you can't scan over the wireless network. I can help you with this.
What operating system are you using? Mac OS X: How Do I Find Which Mac OS X Version Is on My Computer?
Check to make sure the correct driver is installed.
Click the Apple menu and then click System Preferences. Click Printers & Scanners, highlight the printer name on the left side and on the right side of the screen should show the name.
If the proper name isn't listed, delete it and add the printer name back in from the list.
Click the - sign to delete the driver and then click the + sign to add the driver, might have to click the drop down to select the printer's name to add it in.
From the Printers and Scanners window, highlight the printer, you should have a Scan tab, then select Open Scanner. If it isn't listed, let me know. Here is a screen shot, but it is a different model.
What is the printer name listed as?
If the issue persists, connect the printer to the Mac by a USB connection and try and scan. Just to rule this out.

HP Laserjet 4500 desktop drivers not finding scanner after install.

First I have installed the
HP Officejet 4500 Desktop All-in-One Printer - G510a HP Officejet Full Feature Software and Driver
for a HP Laserjet 4500 Desktop
however after the installation has been completed and the section to where you can connect as a USB or wireless is given. I have selected to connect with a USB and the scanner will not show as connected when the installed of drivers have been checked and ready.
I have checked the device manager to see if the were installed drivers for the scanner but still not shown. I have checked to see if the scanner was in the view scanners and cameras menu and still none is connected.
I have powered off the HP and reconnected to another USB and reboot still not being recognized.
I am installing the wrong driver? Is there a step that I am missing? Can you help with a link to the correct software and or driver?

Windows 10 Does Not Find Scanner

Hello SideSaddle,  Welcome to the HP Forums.  I see that you are having an issue with the scanning function on the printer. I suggest that you do an uninstall of the software and drivers and then run the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows. If anything was missed in the initial installation, the Install Wizard will recognize the operation system and the printer and get all the drivers and software needed on its own.  If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest contacting HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. , : click here.  Thanks for your time.

Well, as I always say... If I want things done right, I have to do them myself.
I found the solution on the Internet... One must place your pointer on the icon that is presently showing and then press the letter "o" key to toggle between the Burn, Dodge, and Sponge tools.

Photoshop Bridge can not find Iphoto files

When I open Bridge in Photoshop to open pictures It can not find my Iphoto files. There is an Iphoto icon with the other folders but when I click on it it opens Iphoto it does not show the files.

Bridge and iPhoto do pretty much the same thing in different ways and can not be used together - choose one or the other
PS can be used with iPhoto directly without bridge - set it as the external editor in the iPhoto preferences

Adobe photoshop extended CS6 not complete command could not find Javascript Plugin

When I open Photoshop Extended I get the error could not complete command could not find javascript, I have update the Java program, Reloaded the photoshop program, I still get the error message.

Java and Javascript are not really related to one another at all (except that they have 4 letters in common :-)
When Photoshop starts on Windows it looks for and tries to run this:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Startup Scripts CS6\Adobe Photoshop\photoshop.jsx
Which is the "startup script". It's possible you've deleted yours or it has become corrupt. Reinstall is your best bet.
It's also possible that your Photoshop instance was configured to run something on application start using File -> Scripts -> Event Manager and Photoshop Event "Start Application". For example I set my CS5 to use "Welcome" at startup, then renamed welcome and got this message:
Which provides a big clue what is wrong. If you're seeing the above (or something similar) make note of the file listed and select "Yes".
On a 64-bit version, you can look here:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit)\Presets\Scripts but there doesn't seem to be the equivalent.
Not sure where to look on the Mac.

Lightroom Does not Find Photoshop

I just installed Lightroom and have been toying with it.
I have Photoshop CS2 installed in the default location, but in Lightroom, under Edit > Preferences, in the External Editors Tab, it states "Edit in Adobe Photoshop (not found)." The option to Edit in Photoshop under Photo is greyed out.
Is there any way I can tell Lightroom where Photoshop is located?
As it is now, I have set up my Additional External Editor as Photoshop, but I am unsure if it is maxamizing compatibility when I save the file, and I'd really rather know why it did not find Photoshop on the install or first run?
Any help greatly appreciated.

Persistence pays off: so initially, CS5 was not recognizing my Epson Perfection Photo V700. I reloaded the Epson software twice and using the mac menu for printers and scanners tried to get it to operate. no dice. Finally, on the third try, I went to Finder to look under applications software, found the epson software and clicked on that, and finally got the Epson scan window to open. So now, even tho i can't open it from inside CS5, i can still get the image into CS5 easily by clicking on "open" and going to finder. (Still good to know about Vuescan tho.)

- You indicate the folder name for the TWAIN plug-ins to be moved.
-- The name corresponds to PhotoShop Elements 9.
-- I am working presently with PhotoShop Elements 10. And the name seams not to correspond.

When exporting to Photoshop can not find files

I have a drive that when I export an image to Photoshop it can not find the files. Any suggestions on getting them to read?

I'm using MAC OS 10.49 the latest. I have 9 external hard drives. I can bring in all thumb nail images from all drives and as I update meta data it changes on all drives. But when I go to edit a specific image in Photoshop any image from this one drive and only this one drive I get error message "can not find file". If go out of Lightroom and into Bridge I can see the image and launch it in photoshop. It only happens so far with this one drive. I have several of the same manufacture drives. Does this help!

Computer can not find 6310 scanner on network

6310 all in one working fine both printing and scanning then all of a sudden Photo smart can not find the scanner on the network. The printer continues to work fine. How can I get both of my network computers to fing the scanner ?

Sorry for not getting back. I tried all the suggestions and could not see the server. It was not showing up in the ipconfig /all except when I queried at the server. I could not get a successful ping from the client either.
However, a little digging, and some conversations with prior admins of the domain, I have determined there was no real domain. The 2003 server was there in name only, the client pc's were just doing their own thing and just using shared folders in the server.
The domain controller was a Qwest (telephone company internet) modem and still is because the guy who programed it will not give me the password until we can meet and he can see what I am trying to do -- go figure that one.
However, all that being said I was able to change one client pc's hosts file and add the server static ip and name and then like magic the "//server2012/connect" worked just as advertised. So I connect that pc, a user for it and the server
is acting just as it should for that pc, the old server and itself under the right domain name.
I still can not get to the outside world with remote web connect as the Qwest Modem is blocking the connection; my guess is the right ports are not forwarded. My solution seems to be getting access to the modem and transferring the DNS, and probably the
DHCP, control from it to the server 2012.
So I appreciate the help so far, but I feel I can not really ask for more help until I get control of the whole network and perform some more diagnostics. Should I close this question and open a new one in the future when I have one?
