Photoshop not found

I've just installed LR, and am doing basic setup. In Preferences/External Editor, it says "Edit in Adobe Photoshop(not found)". We have a registered version of CS2 installed in the default location. We're running XP with fast user switching - could that be the problem?

When i right-click on a photo in Lightroom, the "Edit In Adobe Photoshop" command in the context menu is grayed out. Also, the same command under the Photo menu is grayed out, and in the External Editor tab of the Preferences the upper box is labeled "Edit in Photoshop (Not Found)".
The Adobe Technote was not very helpfull. Both Solutions did not work.

I removed the com.adobe.PhotoshopElements.plist file.
I reinstalled Photoshop Elements.
Has anybody else this Problem?
Is there another Workarround?

Thank you for your reply. Yes there is another Menue-Entry in the context-Menue "open in other Application..." but its also grayed out, even if i have installed PSE or not. That makes no Sense for me.
Hmm... Elements isnt PS, but adobe says that i can use PhotoshopElements and PS with Lightroom in similar manner:

EDIT: I have also removed lightrooms plist file, with no effect.

CS6 photoshop not found after downloading and putting in serial number

CS6 photoshop not found after downloading and putting in valid serial number. Only extended version shows up as available. How do I just download CS6 photoshop only??

Nowhere during the installation does it give me the option to select the previous version I purchased! This is a new install on a new computer because my other computer no longer works. There is no option for me to select CS6 PS (NON EXTENDED) on the download from Adobe! When I install it only installs the extended version and tells me my serial number is valid but not for the extended. When you provided the link to the page that has the downloads, all that loads is the extended version. Can you please give me a link to the CS6 (not extended) so I can get back to work? I also was able to get the hard drive out of my computer that no longer works and put it on my new computer I'm trying to install CS6 on and the installer gave me NO OPTIONS to enter my old serial#.
This is beyond frustrating!!!! I have a computer go out on me, and have to buy a new computer, then when I try to install CS6 PS it will not install. In the meantime I'm trying to keep my small business going to stay in business. I can't call any one from adobe. All I can do is send emails to get this resolved and wait.

Edit in Photoshop not found

LR 2.7. I've upgraded to PS CS5 and "edit in Photoshop" is grayed out. If I go into preferences it says edit in PS not found. I was able to change other external editor to PS, but would like to use the standard ctrl-e edit in PS. Thanks

Master Collection Photoshop not found in program menu

All other programs are there except photoshop although the installer says its been installed. When I locate an icon for it it is for the trial version.

Signing into your account through the trial version, authorizes it (so it is no longer a "trial version").
If you are referring to the beta version pre-release, then uninstall Photoshop and the download the new one via the application manager.

LR External Editor - Photoshop not found

After installing LR 1.0 and ACR 3.7 I removed CS3. Now when I enter The LR Preferences for External Editors LR cannot find Photoshop. LR is obviously looking for CS3 and ignores the installed CS2 completely. Even reinstalling LR doesn't help in this case.
Does anyone have a clue which registry entry or whatever I have to change that LR realizes that CS3 is gone but CS2 is still there?

First make a new txt-dokument.
Copy this text into the document:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

Make shure that "path" points to your photoshop cs2 folder and that @= points to the photoshop.exe file in your computer.
Then rename the file to something like "ps_cs2_path_registry.reg".
Make shure to use the .reg extention.
Then double click the .reg-file and klick okej to enter the registry information.
Maby you have to restart the computer to make it work...

File not found error when opening .JPG files in Photoshop CC

uninstalled and reinstalled photoshop CC and cannot resolve this issue.
any time i open a .jpg file in photoshop, I get a "Could not complete your request because the file was not found."
the file is obviously there, so i'm assuming its missing some sort of plugin, which i thought would be resolved when reinstalling photoshop.
very frustrated and not sure how to fix this.
running OSX mavericks

used bridge, didn't work.
tried right-click, double click..open in program.
same error.
files work in other adobe products.....
only way to get a jpg in there is to "paste" it in.

Hey guys, new to the board here and pretty much at the end of my rope.
Starting maybe 2 days ago I began getting quite a strange message when I tried to open Photoshop CS3.
I'd send a jpeg of the window but with photoshop down i'll settle for just typing this crap out:

Now, that's a mouthful! Fortunately i'm at least computer literate enough to dig around on google.
After doing that, I came up with nothing. I found a replacement for the DLL that it's having trouble with, but that did nothing.
I then tried out a program called Registrybooster, which found quite a few problems with my registry but failed to correct whatever is causing this problem.
So I tried to backtrack a little bit and see if anything I had done since the last time the program worked (wednesday the prior week) had broken it. I had shut off some startup programs so i figured maybe that had something to do with it. Unfortunately undoing those changes had absolutely no effect at all.
I then tried out doing a repair install, which did nothing. After this, I did an uninstall and reinstall and... nothing.
Some extra info: I run windows xp home edition on this PC and have it updated to SP3.
I've had photoshop on it for about a year with no problems.
Hopefully someone can help me here. Almost every thread I located with similar problems via google either went unanswered or the answers given didn't actually help me out.

Hi Chris, thanks for chiming in on my problem.
I'm doubtful of it being TWAIN/WIA caused, but will look into it. I have a wacom tablet and a canon scanner so who knows. What would you suggest I do to see if those two are causing anything in particular? (Not sure why they would as I haven't made any changes to the programs or hardware involved recently.)

Please follow the below mentioned steps let me know if they work:
1. Uninstall current Ps CC app, If there are any issues with CC uninstall then run the Cleaner tool to remove Ps CC :http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html .
2. Restart your system
2. Install Ps CC app from Creative Cloud
3. Do not launch Ps
4. Update to 14.1.2 via the Creative Cloud desktop application
5. Once the updates are successfully applied, Launch Ps CC to verify.

Error Message "ElementsAutoAnalyzer.exe unable to locate. This application failed to start because ExtendedScript.dll was not found". This error message is seen when first starting Windows Vista, prior to starting Photoshop Elements 12.

It does not seem to interfere with the normal operation of Photoshop Elements, but it is a constant annoyance.

Photoshop CC (64 bit): Entry Point not found

Hi,
Just updated the Photoshop CC (64 bit) and after update the whole thing does not work anymore. When you try to start Photoshop CC you get an ugly message stating:

Any ideas? I really need the P CC so any help is valuable! The platform is Windows 8 / 64 bit and the P CC used to work..
Update:
The 32-bit version of P CC works. So it is only the 64 bit version that does not start.
