Photoshop not recognizing Bridge rotated images

I updated to CS5 from CS4.  In CS4 I could rotate an image in Bridge and it would be recognized when I opened the file in Photoshop.  This no longer works, I think it is a bug in CS5 Photoshop but do not see where to report it to Adobe.  Does anyone else have any ideas on this?

So far I can’t recreate the behaviour, Bridge-rotations are honored in Photoshop CS5 on my station.
If it is about a Preference-setting I haven’t been able to locate it yet.

  • Photoshop not recognizing PSD files

My PSD files are not being recognized.  When I go to Properties and then Open With, and browse to the Photoshop application as usual, I am unable to select Photoshop as the program to open my file.  I am completely baffled.
It looks like the Open With function is not recognizing PhotoShop, and I do not know if this is a Photoshop error or a Windows error.
Other Adobe programs are working and are recognized just fine.  I am using Windows 7 and Photoshop CS4.  I am running up-to-date Norton 360 so it is extremnely unliklely to be a virus.
    Help please!

Sounds like a basic system problem, not a problem with Photoshop per se...
First, Photoshop should have installed itself so that it would automatically be in the list of programs available to open that file type.
Second, if it's not there by default, browsing to the Photoshop.exe file should make it work as you expect.
I've just opened a file from my desktop using Right Click, then Open With, and choosing Photoshop.exe as you have described.  However, in my case Photoshop is already in the list of Recommended Programs.
Out of curiosity, do you see it in the list of "Other Programs" toward the bottom of the Open With dialog?  You'll have to click on the little arrow to the right to see them.

  • Photoshop not recognizing graphics driver

I have a brand new Sony Vaio i7 core, 8 gig's of ram and 1Tb hd, and I get this message whenever I fire up Phontoshop: "Display driver has stopped responding and has recovered. Say's I need 512Meg of Ram, but I have 8Gig's of Ram. The the message is followed by a pop-up that says the video driver may need to be updated, but I checked and it doesn't. It says it can't do 3d, I don't need it too, but it's annoying that it's not recognizing a driver on a brand new computer. Any ideas if there is a way to get this working properly? Thanks!

    There is no "Photoshop online".
What version of Photoshop are you using?
And the display driver message refers to bugs in your display driver, plus the requirements to have 512 Meg of VRAM (not RAM) on your video card to use the 3D features.
You need to update your video card driver from the GPU maker's website to pick up all the latest bug fixes. Updates from Microsoft are years out of date.

  • Photoshop and Bridge rotating images automatically, unwanted behavior

We have a large batch of identically sized images (although obviously some are portrait and some landscape) and when previewed in bridge or opened in photoshop, the images that are portrait are being automatically rotated 90 degrees counter-clockwise. In bridge, the extracted preview displays correctly but when the higher-res image preview is generated, it rotates the images counter-clockwise.
This is happening on more than one of our machines, which makes me think it has something to do with the images themselves. The only thing I've found so far is that maybe the images contain meta-data that is telling the two programs to rotate the images, but this is unwanted behavior and if this is indeed what's going on, then I'd like to either tell photoshop/bridge to ignore this data or clear it out of the image files altogether.
    Any thoughts/ideas/solutions?

Right, which is what I thought. If by "a conflict to the way you want it see it" you mean there are people are now standing on the wall, then yes, it is a conflict.
So any help on how to clear this particular bit of meta data on a few thousand photos? Or do we just have to work around it?

  • How do I start the script for Photoshop CS6 in Bridge CS6 image processor ?

I am new to Bridge and I am lookiing for a way to batch process images. I opened 'preferences' and did not find Photoshop CS6 under the script list. How do I open and run the image processor? Thanks for any help!!

I have clicked on 'tools' within Bridge but there is no 'Photoshop' in the drop-down menu.
Misread your post a bit and see you want the image processor, however, this should be in the same location as the Batch option. If you don't have Photoshop in that list it means the start up script is not active or not installed properly.
First check Bridge preferences / Start up scripts and see if Photoshop is listed inhere and has a checkmark in front. If no checkmark then set it to on, restart Bridge and try again. If no Start upScript at all first try restart Bridge holding down option key (Mac) or ctrl (Win) and choose reset preferences.
If still no luck try a reinstall of PSCS6 to also reinstall Bridge again. (you first have to uninstall PSCS6, be sure to have a back up of custom settings etc).

  • Why does Photoshop not show PSD file image tile in 'Open File' when Facebook can?

When selecting a PSD file in Photoshop the image tile just says "PSD" so visually you cannot select it knowing which version it is.  Why can't Photoshop show the image tile like Facebook can instead of having to use Bridge?  Bridge is a huge memory hog and to have to jump back and forth is a pain.  If I choose a file to upload to Facebook, I can see the standard file icons and also the PSD versions.
Any ideas or should this be a request in the next update?

That's happened a more than a couple of times where I spend 20 minutes carefully preparing a post and then find out some else got it.
Anyway, psd icons in the Explorer is a sure sign of the Windows OS. They could work with Adobe to render thumbnails, but seems something I'm not privy to in their internal policies prevents that.
Chris Cox did offer some insights. The OS vendors expect their rules to be followed, so if the OS does not respond properly, it's not Adobe's job to work around that. I do wonder how third party codec vendors do it. I'll have to ask.
Btw, John Ellis has a quicklook plugin for the Mac that renders PSB thumbnails should you be interested.

  • Premiere and Photoshop not recognizing GTX 470

Something happened and neither Photoshop nor Premiere are recognizing my GTX 470. I updated the drivers with a clean install. And did a stress test on the card. It is working perfectly. It is not hot.
What should my next step be?
    Thanks!

Fixed. For some reason I had to turn on GPU acceleration again. Works fine now.

  • NetBoot not recognizing the Intel Image, says it is PowerPC

    All,
Was running 7 G4 PPC workstations with 10.4.7, and using one machine, make a net boot image and NetInstall set with NetRestore Helper. Worked great and imaged over to all G4 machines OK.
We then bought 2 new Mac Pros, and installed all apps and settings from scratch. No migration helper, no clone, nada. Once done, I made a net boot image and netinstall set with NetRestore Helper, and placed it up in the server. The 2nd Mac Pro would not NetBoot, so I cloned it via Firewire and Carbon Copy Cloner, and all is good, but still no NetBoot. Under System Prefs>Startup Disk, there is no restore image showing like the G4 machines would show.
But using Server Tools 10.4.7, Server Admin, on a client, under netBoot, it saw the image, and recognized it as a Intel Architecture. I thought Great!!
When I went to the server (10.4.2), Under NetBoot, there was no Architecuure column, so I thought it needed to be updated to 10.4.7. So backed up and updated, and now both the client and the server recognize the Intel boot image as a PowerPC image.
Before I go clone and upload again, I want to see if anyone out there has a thought as to why the change. I have not done the firmware upgrade.
    Thanks for any info.
    EDIT:
I see now from the Bombich forums, that Mac Pros shipped with a special build of 10.4.7. Is that what is hanging me up form netbooting?

    Follow up,
Re-immaged my machine and uploaded it to the server, now it shows as intel,
    Odd.

  • Camera not recognized!  Green image only.

Here's a mystery for ya... I've got a brand new Powerbook G4, 1.67GHz, 2GB of RAM with a 120G harddrive. A few of the applications I can hook up my DV camera to via firewire freeze up, freak out or just plain don't work. On my older Powerbook (1GHz, 1G RAM) - no issues.
The camera is a Sony TRV-11
    The firewire cable works.
    The firewire port works.
    I am running Quicktime 7.03
Applications such as iMovie HD, iStopMotion and FrameThief, all of which work on the older Powerbook do not work.
I can, however, successfully capture and record back to the camera from Adobe Premiere.
I have tried deleting the Quicktime Receipts from the Library folder. I have tried downgrading to Quicktime 7.01. I have tried the magical GarageBand fix where you open it up, play a few notes and start up iMovie again. Nuthin. All I see in iMovie is a green screen. Neither iStopMotion or FrameThief recognize the camera... although, interestingly enough, the first time I ran FrameThief after downloading it, it recognized my camera. Restarting the machine with the camera on did not work.
    I'm at a loss. Help!

    everything is identical.

  • Bridge Rotations not Recognized in Photoshop CS5

So i've rotated the images in Bridge...and according to Bridge's metadata the files are being rotated...but when I open them in Photoshop they aren't rotated. Seems as though photoshop isn't recognizing the EXIF data. I'm running it on an iMac and they are both CS5.1. So yeah...if anybody has any suggestions that would be amazing. Thanks!

Worse that being screwed, is not knowing what is wrong so you can't fix it without guessing any maybe not guessing right.  Use a new CF card use a card-reader and maybe the situation won't happen, again, is the best you can do going forward.
As far as what to do for the photos from this set, if the card has not been reused completely, again, then you can try recovering the photos off the card, to see if any photos from the batch that doesn't work, remain, and see if they copy off any better the second time.  If they do copy off ok, then there is likely something wrong with the transfer process and less likely that it is the CF card.
The software I've used when I've accidentally deleted photos off the card when I shouldn't have, is PhotoRescue from www.DataRescue.com  I have one of the older versions so I'm not sure what it corresponds to with the newer set.  It costs money, but you can run a scan of the card, first, to see if it finds thumbnails of the images it is going to recover, but you have to pay before you can actually save off the photos it has found.
If you haven't used the card at all since you discovered the problem, meaning you've merely moved the photos off of it and it is now empty, perhaps even formatted, but no low-level formatted, then you have a good chance of being able to recover most of the photos--basically undelete them.  If you've shoot more photos over the top of the deleted ones or low-level formatted the card, the chance is lower than you'll be able to get the photos back.

    WHERE Dcaaccountallocation.dcaid = 41
    AND Dcaaccountallocation.status = 2
