Photoshop - Optional plugins

I miss the Automate "Web Photo Gallery" and "Picture Package" tools. I know that these need to be downloaded and installed in CS4.
I now have CS5 and found I still need to download them so found them at http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/thankyou.jsp?ftpID=4687&fileID=4377
However, upon installation, I still don't have these options! Is there a bug in their extension software??
Thanks.

Jeffrey - why would Adobe remove the contact sheet option altogether?  Many people, myself included, like to use the contact sheets in Photoshop before they're saved as a PDF.
Also, why is the cursor a finger, yet you click and it zooms in.  Then, the usual command-click doesn't zoom out, it's SHIFT click.
And why remove the function that tells you how many PDF pages will be generated?  It's useful to know when you're creating a multi-page document and are trying to get the images to lay out nicely.

  • Photoshop CS5 Optional Plugins downloaded file issue

I am trying to download the Photoshop CS5 Optional Plugins from the following Adobe website http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4688.
I'm using IE9 as my browser and opting to save the file to my desktop.
The downloaded file appears as follows on my desktop - PSCS5OptionalPlugins_Win_en_US.zip.av6ac0u  - whiich I'm unable to unzip and use.  I am able to download other plug ins from the Adobe site.  Is there an alternate page for downloading these files or some "trick" to downloading these particular plugins?
    Thank you.

I'm a huge fan of the mouse myself, Noel.  As a matter of fact that's what instantly drew me to the Lisa and the Mac initially, at a time when PCs were still at the command-line stage of MS-DOS and PC users were mocking and deriding menus and the mouse.
To this day I much prefer to do anything that can be done with the mouse and/or menus without having to clutter what's left of my withered brain with the learning of commands and key combos, and my considerably handicapped hands make me a lousy typist on account of arthritis and neuropathy anyway.
But aliases ("shortcuts") on the desktop are not necessary to launch applications or open documents.  That's what The Dock is for on the Mac, which, as you can see in my screen shot above, I keep hidden below the bottom of the screen with all its icons until I bring my cursor down to hover over that area when I need it.
And I have double the logos you do.
Hehehe…   I have plenty of those in reserve.    We don't want to clutter this thread with more images than necessary.

  • Optional plugins for Photoshop CS6 - installation advice?

Where should I / how should I install the Lighting Styles folder and the 8bf, 8bi and 8ba files included in the optional plugins for Photoshop CS6? (Win 32)
Thank you in advance for your help.
    Heather

    Hi Heather,
If you  have the 64-bit version of either of these OSes, then:
Windows 7 and Vista (32 bit): Program Files (x86)/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS6/Plug-ins folder
If you have the 32-bit OS version, then: Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS6/Plug-ins folder
The Lighting Styles folder just needs to be in the same directory as the LightingEffects plug-in.
Secondarily, why are you wanting to use the legacy plug-in? Is it because you don't a video card that can enable OpenGL drawing?

  • CS4 About installing the `Optional Plugins' 64 or 32 bit

Can anyone tell me from experience if when installing the `Optional Plugins' found in the `goodies' directory of install discs or from online sources by adobe, does it matter which  photoshop `plugins' directory you use, or do you need to drop them in both?
(I'm particularly interested in the contact sheet II plugin)
On 64 bit systems (Using CS4) you have one 64 bit version of PS and one 32 bit version.  Both have the dirctorires mentioned in the instructions found in:
`Photoshop CS4 and Photoshop Extended CS4 Read Me for Optional Plug-Ins, Extensions and Presets' *.pdf instructions.
But I don't see any mention of 64 or 32 bit in relation to placement of the `optional plugins'.

Hey Harry, I think he knows (Chris wrote part of the program).
I believe what Chris is saying is that:
    1.  Only 32 bit plug-ins work with 32 bit Photoshop, and only 64 bit plug-ins work with 64 bit Photoshop.
    2.  There are plug-ins in the package for each of the variants, 32 bit and 64 bit.
    3.  The 32 bit plug-in(s) need to go under the install area for the 32 bit Photoshop, which is rooted at (on a 64 bit system):
         C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5\Plug-ins
    4.  The 64 bit plug-in(s) need to go under the install area for the 64 bit Photoshop:
         C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5 (64 Bit)\Plug-ins
If you look in the PSCS5OptionalPlugins_Win_en_US.zip file it's pretty obvious which of these are in what subfolder (look for Win32 and Win64 subfolder names).
Note also that the ReadMeCS5_OptionalPlugin.pdf file in the base folder inside the zip file does give instructions.

  • [CS4] About the Optional plugins for CS4

Once the optional plugins are installed as discussed in the pdfs that come with them.  In this case, the contact sheet plugin, into Photoshop plugins directory.
How is it then accessed inside photopshop?
I see a little note in the pdf saying that it is `optional' to add the plugin to the bridge scripts directory, but if not, then it must be possible to access that plugin from photshop, but I don't see it anywhere.
I put the contact sheet plugin at:
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS4 (64 Bit)\Plug-ins\Automate\ContactSheetII.8LI
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS4\Plug-ins\Automate\
Putting the 64 and 32 bit plugins in the appropriate directories.
Where should I be looking inside PS?  Nothing appears under Filters

If the plugins are installed right, then they should be under File>Automate in photoshop.

  • CS5 Optional Plugin Loading

I would like to make a contact sheet of images and noticed I need to download the optional plugins for CS5.
I did this, read through the instructions though I was following along but when I have placed the files into the areas specificed and then open photoshop the option for a contact sheet does appear under automate.
Can someone walk me through and tell me what to do to get this to work?
    Thanks.

Do you have a 64 bit system?  I ask because you have to make sure the 64 bit optional components go under the 64 bit installation area, and the 32 bit components under the 32 bit installation area.
Photoshop 64 bit is based here:
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5 (64 Bit)
Photoshop 32 bit is based here:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5
Also, make sure you stop and restart Photoshop after installing the optional components.

  • In Bridge CS6, the "Tools" tab is missing the "Photoshop" option to batch process image

    Hello!
Does anyone know why in Bridge cs6 under the "Tools" tab, my "Photoshop" option is missing?  That is how I have always batch processed images.  In Bridge, I choose the images to process, go to the "Tools" tab, down to the "Photoshop" option then to "Image Processor" and process.  Now when I go into my "Tools" tab it only has the options: Batch Rename, 4 kinds of Metadata related options and Cache.  Can someone tell me why this has happened and how to fix it?  Thank you!!!
    Eric

    Hello Omke,
This problem lasted for two days.  I tried many suggestions but nothing worked immediately.  Suddenly I turned my computer on last night and it was fixed...inexplicably.  Not sure what worked but something did.  I appreciate you taking the time to offer advice.
    Best,

  • Missing "Photoshop" option in the Drop-down Menu Toolbar

So today, I hear about "Syncing" my settings in Photoshop CC. In asking how to do that, I am told to go to the "Photoshop" option of the Dropdown Menu Toolbar. I don't have such an option -- my choices are File, Edit, Image, Layer, Type, Select, Filter, 3D, View, Window, and Help.
When I go to Edit/Preferences/Sync Settings, I am not signed in and was never Synced. I have logged in to my Adobe Account online with Internet Explorer. And under the /Help dropdown menu is "Sign Out (my Adobe user name)"
    What am I missing?
    Update:
I see. The “Photoshop” option is a Mac thing. I have a PC. In any event, going to “Edit > [your Adobe ID] > Sync Settings Now” does not work because I lack the “[your Adobe ID] ” option. “Sync Settings Now” option is visible but only takes me to the “Preferences” area as described above.

  • Photoshop CS4 plugins exists multiple times

    Hello Everybody
I'm running a iMac 27 inch (End 2009) with the newest operating system (OSX 10.10.3) and the adobe creative suite 4 (Version 1102).
Since a few days, my photoshop (and only PS, all others like ID, BR and AI work fine) takes about 10 minutes to load. It always hangs at the "scanning for plugins" point on the splash screen.
I have now spent around 6 hrs to get rid of this issue but nothing helped. I searched through hundreds of discussions and youtube for solutions. I found out that the plugins should be in the /application/Adobe PS version XX/Plugins  folder, where they are located. I tried to reinstall the whole suite several times, with and without the cleanout script from adobe. I tried applications like appcleaner, I tried to find the files on my own through the whole mac os (also searching with the parameter to show all hidden folders) etc. (By the way: I'm working as an IT guy, so I know a little what I'm doing). But I could not manage to get rid of those crazy plugins (I only use the standard plugins which come with the installation of PS).
So I see that it takes about 10 minutes to go through that scanning plugins point on the splash screen. Also when I choose to save a file and I click on the dropdown for the file type, I have now every possibility listed multiple times. Same in the main menu "photoshop -> about plugins".
Does anybody have any idea what I could do to fix this? I'm kinda stuck.
Below you'll find the screenshots of the error messages and so on (of course, I'm using it in German).
Every hint is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • PHOTOSHOP CS6 PLUGIN PROBLEM; I have PS CS6

PHOTOSHOP CS6 PLUGIN PROBLEM; I have PS CS6 & a mac osx 10.7.5  I have downloaded the pluginhttps://sourceforge.net/projects/panotools/  I drag it to the applications folder  (applications/photoshop/plugins) and it shows up there, but it does not show up when I reopen photoshop, can anyone tell me if this is a valid plugin or what I am doing wrong?

Thank you for the link, I don't see where the licensing is listed at all, I also don't see where it says it is for existing CS2 users only & the line install a special version that does not require activation -
doesn't scream it'd be a problem to load it especially since I already own a later version that I can't use the plugin on - …I don't find the site all that informative.  I appreciate all the answers & responses to my use of CS2 but I'd really just like to receive an answer to the original question of if the plugin works with it or not…if anyone has that answer I'd appreciate it.
Is there a place I can purchase it?  I will gladly do so if I can get the plugin to work-that is my goal.

  • Why my tools in Bridge CS5 don't have Photoshop option

I was following a Bridge CS5 tutorial (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8C3AwQTBAA&feature=ytfce) and when I clicked the "Tools" tab to choose "Photoshop" and then "Load Files into Photoshop Layers" I was surprised for not having the "Photoshop" option in the "Tools" tab.
    How can I fix it?
    Thanks.

Two things to check.  Do you have CS5 or CS5.1?  There seems to be some difference in the programs.
Then open edit/preferences/scripts, you should have a check mark for at least Bridge and Photoshop.

  • Where to download 2.3.4's optional plugins?

    Hi,
My company's finance department have purchased the licences for standard
edition and plugins for caching. Where do I download the 2.3.4's optional
    plugins?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Makas,
On October 24, these were sent to the individual in your firm who has the
    licenses associated with them.
Also, in the near future, we will be upgrading our license key systems to
better handle optional add on modules.

  • Optional plugins not supported

i d/l'd and installed the optional plugins for ps cs5, but they do not show in the filters list.
i have been told by someone who has used ps for a number of years that ps cs5 does not support them.
i d/l'd them from adobe, so why don't they work?

it is possible i installed the wrong plugins, but i did
get them from adobe. they are the same that were removed after cs3
when cs4 came out. they are both available from adobe's download page
as optional, one version for cs4 the other for cs5. i'll check to see if the correct
version is installed as i have both 32 and 64 bit capabilities on my win 7 ultimate 64 bit os.
i'll let you know the result as soon as i can. hopefully the version installed for my 64 bit is
    incorrect, not unsupported.
i have just visited the d/l page here
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/thankyou.jsp?ftpID=4688&fileID=4376
but there is nothing to indicate any 32 or 64 bit version for the plugins. it only has a single d/l link
as you can see on the page. i have already added some demo and other plugins without any problem
but i am unable to find where or how to resolve this problem with them not being available for use
    in ps cs5 extended.
i currently have literally hunderds of filters, freeware and paid, that are all ps compatible but am leary
of installing into ps for use there. they are installed for use in other applications.
