Photoshop ran fine at first

I use Photoshop on my MBP for the most basic photo editing from my olympus. The photos are no bigger than 2000x2000 pixels. Photoshop ran fine at first, but now it slows everything down, opens up multiple photos very slow, etc.
I am a recent switcher and I have used a previous version of PS on a PC with less memory. It never ran this slow.
MBP 2.16 GHz 1 GB RAM Mac OS X (10.4.9) 1 GB RAM, 93 GB HD

The current retail version of Photoshop is not a Universal application. This means it will have to be run through a program called Rosetta. Rosetta allows you to run a powerpc application on an intel machine. It also slows down the system.
Adobe is currently working on a Universal version of Photoshop, but I think it is still in beta. Once Adobe releases the retail version of the Universal version, Photoshop should run a lot quicker on the intel macs.

This computer recently was replaced with a Dell running Windows 8.I reloaded my CS2 on this computer & it ran fine with a few exceptions as follows;
when the software comes up initially I get a message that says “could not complete your request because of program error”. Hitting OK allows me to continue using the software .
When I try to activate a function using CTLR or ALT keys I get this message “required application failed to load and the product cannot continue. Please reinstall the application”. This causes the application to abort.
Reloading my CS2 continues to generate the same messages when I depress the CTLR or ALT keys.

Your original copy is obsolete and Adobe is offering a free replacement you are entitled to. Download and use that and that should clear it up for you.

Colors not showing up in Photoshop. Worked fine the first day, now when I click on a color it comes out in gray tones. Pop up about RAM storage?

Just downloaded Photoshop and there was a pop up box that mentioned my RAM and something about not enough RAM left for certain 3D features, filters, and image/color graphics(?). I continued. Everything was working fine the first time I went to use it, but the next day I opened the program and could not get any colors to show up. How can I fix this?

Go to Image>Mode and make sure you color is RGB, not gray scale. Also, a preference reset might help: Ctrl/Cmd+Alt/Opt+Shift as you initiate Photoshop startup.

Scheduled tasks run fine at first then stop running

This has been an ongoing issue with every Server 2012 machine that we have running tasks (a buddy of mine has the same issue with 2008 R2). At first the task will run fine as it should but then out of the blue it will simply stop running. The
last run time could be months ago and the next run time will be the normal scheduled time to run. Last run result is always 0x0. There is also nothing in the history tab as I assume it's been too long ago since the last time it ran.
I can't figure out what's keeping these tasks from properly triggering and running. Now before anyone starts going down a list of settings I should check that I might have goofed up, remember, these run fine at first and which jobs stop running properly
are completely random. Also, some of these tasks are Microsoft generated tasks like Windows Backup:
This happens on MS tasks as well as my own tasks that run fine at first but then just stop. The only fix on a per task basis that I've been able to come up with is to delete the job and create it from scratch where it will then work forever or get
stuck. It's completely random.
I would greatly appreciate any help on this matter as it's driving me absolutely nuts.

You should really read the manual.
"How do you restore from backup? "
Restore. When given the choice, choose to use backup.
"And how can I check to see if the pics and videos are on my computer somewhere first??"
They would only be where you put them. What program did you use to import them? Pics/vids taken with ipod are not part of the sync process at all. You should be importing them just as you would with any digital camera.
If you did not import them, then they are not on your computer.

The speed may have been ok at that time and is too inconsistent/too slow overall. interference may have proven to be more of an issue since as well. If using public DNS that will provide Intermittant results
I'm sure using a hotspot would be fine but it depends on your viewing habits. An HD movie is around 4-5GB. It would also be subject to speed. requirements so best to test to see how it compares.
You would have to check with your Carrier if hotspot it's enabled then just to into your settings and toggle it ON

When jailbroken, you cannot update the iOS on your device. The only way to fix it is to do a full restore through iTunes. Before you do this make sure you backup your device and everything on it.

Apply Photoshop filter effect to first frame of video

In editing a video sequence, I would like to apply one of the Photoshop filters to the first frame of the video, have that filtered image play back for about four or five seconds, then have it transition to the actual first frame image over about another four or five seconds, and then have the rest of the video play as normal.

Yes, I remember "WWW" well, and recall the stylized still image - it was a very neat effect. Hope that you get what you are looking for. PS is a great creative tool and PrPro will let one do all sorts of animation with still images. I also use Painter (Corel now) for some similar effects. PS makes it easier with Layer Comps, so you can generate incremental versions of effects and get them ready for Import into PrPro. Painter is still a bit "old-school" in that respect, but it only means a few more stylus-clicks. Also, with the newer versions, Painter handles Layered PSD files more like PS does. I think of it as PS Filters on heavy steroids.

CS5 InDesign and Illustrator keeps Crashing upon startup while Photoshop works fine

I installed CS5 on my iMac running Mavericks. Photoshop works fine, but InDesign and Illustrator keep crashing upon starting the program. InDesign specifically crashes when it "registers 224 plug-ins". Illustrator crashes almost instantly. Adobe phone tech support is not available because this is not a creative cloud subscription. Has anybody else encountered this issue?

Sorry it has been a busy few days in the office - but I still would like to get this program running...
Tried replacing the entire Adobe Folder - still not the answer...
I've replaced all these folders too that are appeared after successfully launching InDesign in the Guest Account (see images)
My preferences and cache folders in my main user account have a ton of files and folders compared to my guest account. Could that be the source of the problem? I can post screen shots if you think that they may be the source?

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

Illustrator CS6 16.0.4 ran fine before installing OS X 10.10 (Yosemite)... after installing, it doesn't... help!

Illustrator CS6 ran fine before I installed OS X 10.10 Yosemite on my MacBook Pro. But it never ran once afterwards. When I launch AI CS6, it says it needs me to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime. Did anyone else encounter this? I don't want to install the older version of java without knowing if it'll fix the problem, or what the impact will be to other programs which all seem to run fine after my upgrade to Yosemite. Any guidance out there?
