Photoshop request for missing font 'HeiseiMaruGo-W4-83pv-RKSJ-H'

Hi,
I recently purchased the iMac Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz, and have installed Adobe CS 3 Design Standard.
When I manually import an llustrator EPS file into Photoshop (drag the EPS file into Photoshop) with the fonts outlined or not I receive the following message after i set the resolution:
Photoshop needs the font named 'HeiseiMaruGo-W4-83pv-RKSJ-H'
Have I deleted a system font in my font management program? (Linotype Font Explorer X)

Hi Buko,
When I open the file photoshop crashes, but i'll try the process of creating an eps file again and see how it goes.
Thanks

  • InDesign CS6 Middle East : default font substituted for missing font

    Hello,
Message error from Indesign : Default font substituted for missing font
I am currently using version "InDesign CS6 Middle East," which normally supports the Arabic language ...
The problem is that the characters display correctly and others not! Especially this "font" called "MunaPlain", this version was created in 1996. (on the Internet, I could not find a new version!)
According to research, test... i have found that Mac OS X Lion that causes this error!
    My question is:
Can I uninstall Mac OS X Lion and install an old OS version in my computer, for example MAC OS X Leopard ? Any solution please ?
Is there an update or plugin indesign for Arabic? (except ScribDoor, because in this case, it is useless)
    Thank you!

For questions regarding Adobe apps, it is probably really best to ask Adobe or use their forums:
    http://forums.adobe.com/index.jspa
I am amazed that an arabic font from 1996 would work correct anywhere today given the changes in technology that have occurred.  Is it really not possible for you to use a modern Unicode Arabic font for your work?  There are lots of them -- Apple gives you a half-dozen or so.  And there is a list at
    http://www.wazu.jp/gallery/Fonts_Arabic.html
Whether you can downgrade your os depends on your hardware.  If it came new with 10.7 installed, then it is not possible.

  • Firefox request for a font

Every few days I get this panel:
    http://grab.by/3QvI
in which Firefox wants to use the Bradley Hand font which is on a backup clone on my external hard drive. But I have that font installed on my iMac user's library, as you can see in the screen cap. I have clicked on Allow several times.
Why does it keep asking this? What can I do to make it find the font on my iMac instead of looking for it on the ext. drive, and how do I make it understand "allow."
    Thanks!

  • Missing fonts warning when adding pages to a book

I have a book with 13 documents added and 105 total pages. I have 10 master pages set up, and each time I add (or delete) pages to a document, I get warning: "The document <doc>.indd needs to be updated but has missing fonts. It may recompose with a default substitute font and result in inacurate page numbers. Do you want to continue updating numbering?"  If I click OK to continue updating the numbering, sometimes an extra page gets added somewhere else in the document. Preflight Book is not showing any errors and I also tried looking at the preflight panel in each of the 13 documents. Neither says anything about a missing font. How else can I find it? Thanks!

It could be in overset text (though preflight should see that) or in a style not currently in use. Are you sure the priflight profile is looking for missing fonts, bucasue is really does sound like there is substitution ocurring. Also, have you looked in Type > Find Font.
If none of that is fruitful, I'd try exporting each of the documents to .inx or .idml, then opening those and saving as new .indd docs. Add the new docs to a new book and see if you still get errors.

  • Error message Missing Font

    Hello there,
I am working on manuals that sb else wrote and I'm about to crazy here. FM11 keeps telling me that one of the chapters uses a font that I don't have on my machine. I checked both the character and the paragraph catalogues and can't find any entry that uses said font. Is there anywhere else I need to look?
    Thanks in advance

Use the Ask A Question feature of this forum to search for
    missing font
It's an extremely common issue. The causes are legion. The fixes and workarounds vary with Frame version.
The missing font is often not even used or declared in the Frame document. You can verify that by searching the MIF.

  • Muse "Missing fonts" warning?

Like the InDesign and Illustrator warning (see pic).

  • Change missing fonts in multiple files CS4

I am using InDesign CS4 and I have several dozen files that are missing fonts because of going from a Mac to Windows. I have approximately 20 documents open, so there are 20 "Missing Fonts" dialog boxes open. If I want to replace the missing fonts, which are pretty much the same in every document, is there a way to replace all the missing "Arial Black"s at once instead of having to replace each font in each document one at a time?
    I hope that makes sense?
    Thanks,
    Lloyd

No prob, Lloyd. I meant to include some Handy Illustrative Screenshots but the work I'm actually getting paid to do kept getting in the way  Glad you were able to figure it out.
Unfortunately, this method doesn't have the "Redefine Style When Changing All" checkbox that you get when you use the Find Font dialog. I usually wind up using this techinque with files I've not styled - e.g. when a designer sends me a package from a Mac with no styles and a bunch of 0k fonts that wouldn't support my target languages even if I did have a license for the font in the first place. In those rare occasions when I have to do this to my own well-styled docs, I made a key combo control-alt-shift-R "Redefine Style" so I could step through the doc and redefine all of the styles to the new font.
Peter & Uwe, do either of you remember when using find/change for missing fonts started working? Was it new in CS4, or am I remembering PageMaker? Quark? I can't tell. I do remember a time a decade or so ago when I was manually stepping through a massive document made of thousands of individual frames, cursing my inability to search for missing fonts.

  • CS4 - Missing Fonts Loader Plug-in?

I apologize if this has already been asked, but I am having difficulty with the missing fonts loader plug-in.
Q:  Can some please give me a detailed (step-by-step) instructions for installing this plug in for CS4?
Q:  What is this Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package required for CS 4?
    I need some assistance, please.
Thank you very much for any help!

I meant to add this as well.
Missing Fonts Loader Plug-in for Adobe InDesign CS4
The plug-in for Adobe InDesign CS4 is available on the Proxima Software Web site. This plug-in can automatically
activate missing fonts in Adobe InDesign documents.
    Missing Fonts Loader Plug In
Product Adobe InDesign CS4 version 6.0
Description Automatic Activation of Missing Fonts
    Operating System Microsoft Windows
Requirements Your missing fonts must be located in FontExpert
Groups (visible in the Groups view).
    FontExpert 2009 version 10.0.
The plug-in may also work with FontExpert of earlier
versions 9 and 8, but FontExpert 2009 version 10.0 is
    recommended.
    File Name MissingFontsLoader.pln
    How to Install the Plug-in
    NOTE
The plug-in for InDesign CS4 requires Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package
(available on the Proxima Software Web site, http://www.proximasoftware.com/download.htm ).
Copy the MissingFontsLoader.pln file to the Adobe InDesign plug-ins folder:
    c:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe InDesign CS4\Plug-Ins\MissingFontsLoader\MissingFontsLoader.pln
    and RESTART Adobe InDesign.
(Where "c:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe InDesign CS4\" is the folder where Adobe InDesign is installed.)
Using the Missing Fonts Loader Plug-in
This plug-in has an activation option: automatic (recommended) or manual.
    Automatic Activation
The Missing Fonts Loader Plug-in loads missing fonts automatically when you open an Adobe InDesign document.
The plug-in searches for fonts in font groups defined in FontExpert. If a missing font is not found in the FontExpert
Groups view, it will not be activated, and the font will be marked by InDesign as a missing font (for the current
    document).
    3
Missing Fonts Loader Plug-In for Adobe InDesign CS4
In the picture below, the Missing Fonts Loader window shows an empty list of missing fonts for the current
document, because all fonts were activated automatically:
    4
Missing Fonts Loader Plug-In for Adobe InDesign CS4
When InDesign opens the document, it may still mark fonts as missing, even though they were actually activated
by the plug-in during the opening of the document. In this case, you may be required to reopen document to let
InDesign know that all missing fonts are now activated.
The font information xml file helps solve this problem. It is recommended to select the Use font information xml
files option. Every time you save the .indd document, the Missing Fonts Loader plug-in will create a small xml file.
This xml file will include the list of fonts used in the corresponding .indd document. When this xml file is present,
the plugin can activate fonts just before the InDesign actually opens the document and searches it for missing
fonts. (You will find the xml file near the Adobe InDesign .indd document on your computer.)
    Manual Activation
When the Activate Missing Fonts Automatically checkbox is cleared, the plug-in
does not activate missing fonts when you open the document. You can open the plug-in
    window and activate fonts manually.
The Missing Fonts Loader window shows the list of missing fonts in current document:
    5
Missing Fonts Loader Plug-In for Adobe InDesign CS4
Click the Activate All button to activate missing fonts.
    Important Note
Unfortunately, when missing fonts are activated manually, you are usually required to close the InDesign
document and open it again to let the document "know" that new fonts became available. This is the
    disadvantage of manual activation.

  • Missing fonts highlighted in pink

Is there any way to change the color to be more visible?

Check Find Font under Type menu. In case of doubt, that'll tell you what fonts are missing and where -- you can even replace it directly with another font, if needed.
Apparently, you are not using CS4. Its live preflight options includes checks for 'Missing Fonts', and
    i finally
    'Missing Glyphs' as well!
    OTOH,
    >in this case, it's the font Symbol, which doesn't show up at all once I've applied a style
    should not happen.

  • DeComplier and missing fonts

    Hello
I don't have the original source files so I had to resort to
    a de-complier. I purchased So-think. When I de-complied the swf it
prompts me for missing fonts. Once I replace the fonts some of the
text in the fla displays and some does not. A majority of the
images are jumped and look nothing like the orginal SWF. Has anyone
experienced this? Also, I think the SWF might be pulling in text or
    images from another file?
    Thanks for any support,

Do you really mean that they are in "/System/Fonts"? That folder is not part of the proper OS X system file hierarchy, which would be "/System/Library/Fonts" -- if a font is in the place you indicated, it will not be recognized.
You should be able to add the fonts in the proper location by using Font Book -- under the Font Book File menu, choose "Add Fonts...", then navigate to them on your hard drive and follow the directions. This should make the OS (and Font Book) aware of them. (Alternatively, you could simply move the font files and into /Library/Fonts.)

  • Photoshop CC: Missing Fonts on Startup, only a few fonts are displayed as replacement options

I have a Photoshop document which uses some Fonts that I don't have on my Windows PC. When I open the document, I get a Dialog Box called "Missing Fonts", which states:
"Some fonts used in this document are missing. You can sync matching fonts from Typekit, or replace missing fonts with a default or different font used in this document"
This text suggests that I can only replace missing fonts with other fonts already being used in this document. However, I want to replace a missing font with a font that is not yet used in this document. Why can I only replace a missing font with another font already used in the document? For example, I want to replace "Helvetica Neue" with "Liberation Sans", however Liberation Sans is not offered in the Dropdown box, even though it is installed, as it is not yet used in the document. What is the point of only allowing to replace a missing font with a font that is already used in the document, and not with any font installed on the system??
    Thanks,
    best regards,
    Chris

I'm a windows user so I do not know  the Adobe Photoshop environment on the Mac or the versions of Mac OS.  The only suggestion I could make would then be try using Adobe Cleaner to clean off Photoshop then  install Photoshop  Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6

  • Missing Fonts in Photoshop CS4

I opened an existing CS2 photoshop file in CS4 and I get a missing font error. The font that it can't find is on my system.
How do I "add" this font so PS can see it?
    Thanks.

Yeah, I hear ya. But this seems to be a big complaint with 64 bit systems. And since all fonts show up and work fine in all other programs... seems like another adobe bug to me.
If you want to be a bit specific, Arial has 10 types. Only two show up. Regular and bold. And I'm not alone with this problem.
This was a bug (from what I read) in office 2007. But I never used 2007. However it wasn't a problem in office 2003 nor is it with my current version of 2010. As I said, no problems whatsoever with anything except... photoshop cs4 64. (works fine in 32 bit vista)
Now, FWIW, I haven't played much with font directories in the past, but it seems win7 is putting them into their own... kind of "folder". (could be wrong)
That is, in arials case, for instance, they aren't spread out. As... arial normal, black, bold, etc. They seem to be all lumped in to one. Click on it and they all open for display and are all there but I don't remember them that way in older windows progs.
But as I said, everything is fine in notepad, wordpad, excel, word, etc. etc. etc. A corrupt font is one thing, but I can't see a corrupt font working in everything but one program. And they DO work in dreamweaver.
Ok... update. As I said, tried putting them (the arials) in the adobe font directory (which I said was empty). Nothing. Tried again and it duplicated them. Still nothing. Went in and dumped the duplicates... seems to be working.
So, problem kinda solved. Just no clue why.
I need a drink and a few excedrins.

  • Missing fonts - Installed now asking for (T1) versions

My office has a huge library of fonts, but most I believe are used by our designer who uses InDesign CS6 on her Mac. I am using a PC with Windows XP (with SP3). When I first opened one of our .indd files to make edits,  I received a message that the following fonts were missing:
    Adobe Garamond
    Adobe Garamond Semi Bold
    Adobe Garamond Bold
    Adobe Garamond Expert
I was able to download TrueType versions of the first three (not Expert) and install them. When I reopened the same .indd file I received the same message, only this time each font had (T1) after the name. This seems strange, as I did not install any version of the Garamond Expert, and yet InDesign is still requesting a (T1) version. Would downloading OpenType versions be the solution to this, or is there a workaround in InDesign to use the TrueType Versions? I tried replacing the missing fonts, but was unable to replace each with their respective  Bold / Semi Bold etc. TrueType equivalent.
Thanks in advance for your time.

Your Mac user has a VERY old collection of Mac-format T1 fonts. There is no way they can be used on Windows, so they are always going to show up as missing. You can substitute the TT versions, and install those onthe Mac as well, but there may be text reflow. A better solution would be to upgrade to OpenType versions (which would eliminate the need for the Expert set at the same time). I beleive ID ships with several weights of Adobe Garamond Pro.
