- Could I use a serial number to use photoshop?!! is it legal for learning, working in my job ( as you see for personal use)... and I'll not sell it because I know that is illegal?!!!!!

Each legitimate Photoshop must be activated by Adobe when installed, so the Adobe mother ship will be checking.
It sounds like you're contemplating buying a hacked, pirated version or a cracked number. That is totally illegal, a prosecutable crime, even for your "personal use". It's software theft, pure and simple.

Using mobileme for personal, using outlook for business??

The company I work for got me an iPhone. I set up my mobileme account on it, so I have my personal contacts, calendar etc. synced to it now. All my stuff on my macbook or mobileme is basically personal info.
At the office, we do not have the exchange server yet, so I have a pop3 account set up. I need to sync my business contacts and outlook calendar etc. to my iphone as well. When I look at the INFO tab in itunes under iphone, it says "Your contacts are being synced with your iphone over the air from MobileMe". So I guess I can't sync both my contacts to my iphone???
Also it would be nice to sync my music etc from my personal itunes at the house to the iphone, but i havent tried plugging the iphone to my macbook yet. I saw couple of threads on the forum about multiple computer syncing etc., and it appears that there is not a good solution, am I wrong?
So if someone can suggest a good sync strategy for me that would allow me to see my business contacts, calendars as well as mobileme info, that would be great.

Yes and no. If you install the newest iTunes on your work computer you can have it sync to the mobile me cloud. All 4 areas (MB, Outlook, iPhone, MM) will have all your contacts, both personal and business. From there you can divide your personal and business contacts into two different groups to keep them organized.
Same thing with calendars.
If this is not a viable option then there is nothing you can do. You will have to choose between MM syncing and outlook syncing.
As for multiple machine syncing, the iPhone can only sync music/videos/pics with one machine at a time. You can sync contacts/calendars/bookmarks with multiple machines.
It takes a little bit to get it set up properly but I was doing this between my home MBP and work Dell with the 1st gen phone.

Syncing your phones to the same iCloud account won't cause them to both ring all the time, it only puts the same contacts, calendars, and other synced data on the phone. The phones will only ring with someone calls the number associated with the phone.
If you want to stop using iCloud on one or both of the phones, go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then choose Keep On My iPhone when prompted. This will disconnect them from iCloud and keep a copy of the synced data on the phone.

Financial software for personal use?

I just bought my blackberry bold yesterday and I'm not sure which financial software to use.
Has anyone used Ascendo or any of the other money management programs? Which ones do you prefer?
I'm looking for something that's more for personal use than business expenses etc.

You mean Quicken '07, I assume? There is no Mac version of Quicken '08. I use both Quicken '07 and MoneyDance. The latter is still rough around the edges, but I support it since I'd like to see some real competition in the field given Intuit's legendary second-class treatment of Mac users and the Mac platform (charging more for less features and almost never fixing bugs).
Plus I think it's slimy to intentionally BREAK online features after a version is three years old like Quicken does. I fully understand desupporting an old version, but intentionally disabling functionality (in the consumer software world) is just crummy on another level. I've also used the beta of the replacement for Quicken '07, and it's pretty lousy so far.

With the Nanos, you should have no problem lending them loaded with audiobooks from Librivox, etc.
As for the iPod Touches, I'm not sure the question is whether you should allow patrons to set up the device for personal accounts, but whether you can prevent them from doing so. Prepare to to a factory restore every time one is returned.

What does "Personal Use Only" for small business owners mean?

For small businesses or Sole-Proprietors, computers they use for business are also the machines being used for personal use. If I understand the new Mac App Store license correctly, you cannot ethically purchase an app on the App Store that will be used for business use. If that is the case, the greatest oxymoron is that they have a "Business" section in the App Store.
I truly LOVE how easy the App Store makes managing one's apps, but if I have to now deal with seperating all purchases based on it's overall use, they have just complicated the small business scene for small business owners.
I fully understand them wanting to discourage a large business from purchasing, for example, Aperture, once and installing it on 100+ machines. But if that is what they're trying to avoid, why not be more specific in the terms of the updated App Store license info. Instead, they are shooting down any and all use of anything purchased in the App Store for business.
Any other small business owners facing the same situation?

It seems that as long as you abide by these guidelines, you can use App Store apps for business.

Is it legal to 'stream' from iTunes radio stations for personal use?

I have tried to search references to this issue on this forum. Apologies if I have missed them.
Is it legal for me to stream songs from iTunes radio stations ( using for example Streamripper) and to subsequently transfer them to my iPod for personal use?
Am I infringing copyright if I do or have the radio stations already paid copyright?
I am sorry to have to ask this very basic question but I can't get clear guidance elsewhere and it bothers me.

I'm not a lawyer and this isn't legal advice, but I would use the analogy of video taping your favorite show on TV to watch later (or using a DVR). This, I believe is considered "fair use" of the product via what is called "time-shifting." This was the conclusion from the U.S. Supreme Court in the Betamax decision.
As long as you don't offer the show for sale, I think you're okay.

Macromedia Studio 8 for Personal Use

How do I find out if I can continue to use Dreamweaver 8 (and Studio 8 suite) for personal use?
I was given authorization to use Studio 8 on a home computer as part of the Macromedia licensing which allowed home use if the software was licensed for work. I still have the work license but almost never use it at work anymore except on rare occasion.
Am I allowed to continue to use it at home? I don't think Adobe has the same policy as Macromedia did for home use of software purchased for work, but I'm not sure.
I appreciate any guidance on how I might be able to get the definitive answer so I can continue using it as in the past if appropriate.
For the time being, all I want to do is use it for editing a template for my site.
I'm not ready to purchase a personal license of the latest version of Dreamweaver.

If it's a licensed copy of Studio 8, you can use it - work or home doesn't matter. But if you want to be absolutely sure, contact Adobe and ask them. We are not Adobe here - just other users.

There were Express editions of Solaris 10 back in 2004, before the initial Solaris 10 release, just as there are now of Solaris 11 before the official Solaris 11 release - for Solaris, "Express" denotes that it's a pre-release version, not some sort of "light" release.

I just purchases MS Office Professional 2013 and it came with Lync software. I'm familiar with the Lync program, but don't know how to create a Lync account for personal use using yahoo email account. Can you advise at your earliest opportunity?

Lync Online is a business user-oriented solution, you need to purchase it before you can use it.

When can we create Digital Magazines for Personal use?

I would really like to create the same content you can create with the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite, but for personal use and not for publishing to an audience (i.e. personal family magazines). The problem is there is no mechanism for that, will you ever add that functionality, you give us the tools to create the content, but not a way to publish it without paying a huge price.

Premiere Elements is applicable to personal use or company use.
The program and its required QuickTime need to be run with Administrative permissions which typically involved running the program from a User Account with Administrative Privileges and sometimes also with Run As Administrator applied.
Volume licensing, your company security demands, and your company network matters should be directed to Adobe Sales and the Adobe Volume licensing groups.
Definitely go the free 30 day tryout from Adobe before purchase.
