Photoshop Starter 3.2 repeatedly having to register!!!

I was soooo stuck and angry so I used this info to help and it worked!!!!
Go to your PROGRAM FILES and find the photoshop.exe file RIGHT click and go to PROPERTIES. Click on COMPATIBILITY tab and select Run as administrator.
I then did the following even after my photoshop wouldn't open.
I am using Windows Vista and had the same problem as you.
I managed to get around it as follows :
1 Right Click on the desktop shortcut for Photoshop and then select the 'Run as Administrator' option.
2 Photoshop will launch and I found that I could then enter my unlock code.

Okay, that is not a good sign. What this actually means is that someone
MIGHT have deleted the image from your computer. You see the software
doesn't actually store the images for you, it just catalogs them.
Here is what we need to do to see if we can get those images. We are
going to try to find them the old fashioned way in Windows Explorer. If
we find a couple of them, we know that they are on your computer and we
can then reconnect them to the thumbnails (icons) that you see in PSA.
Open of Windows Explorer and start the seach function. Type a partial
name of the image you are looking for. Make sure that the search is set
to look through the entire computer. If you do not find it, then you
need to look in the recycle bin.

How toTransfer photos from Photoshop Starter 3.2 edition to Photoshop Family

I have been using Photoshop Album Starter trial Edition 3.2 for a few years, then recently I have been getting an Adobe registering form pop up which i completed so I could unlock and access my photos. An email was sent only to say that the version Photoshop Starter 3.2 was no long in use and that I should try the Photoshop Family edition.
My problem now is how do I check and then copy/transfer all my pictures from one version to another.
Can someone enlighten me as we are trying to retrieve the photos of our 1st children 1st year.

Hi Bill, after a long rest I'm having another go! I first want to say thank you for your 2010 explanation about audio tracks (mono and stereo and so I understand the odd behaviour now!)I also much appreciate your non judgmental attitude with your help. (If we were all very smart we would not need such forum! But I understand some of us can be rather frustrating to others!) I hope it won't be too big a sin to ask here (the lounge) why my time line exported as a media that ends up an Avi file will not play the video part on MS Windows Player but is ok when re imported in PP(cs4). I tried to ask the question in different ways to the community but it returns nothing. It's not a big deal but would be better if it did play. Thanks again MM

Adobe Photoshop Starter Edition 3

I keep getting asked to register my Adobe Photoshop Starter Edition 3. I did this years ago. I tried an old unlock code but this doesn't work. Can you help me as I cannot access photos etc.

Many thanks. But, yes, I have done all that several times. Worse still when I load the Photoshop to my laptop all works just fine. Yet both are on up to date XP. I have a Dell p.c. and a Toshiba laptop. Maybe all this is hardware related? Or else I have some Windows corruption on my p.c. But I don't think so as other people are reporting the same problem as I have.
Do you know if there is a way I can ask Adobe directly?

PhotoShop Starter Ed 3.2

I am trying to remove Photoshop Starter Edition 3.2, and just use Elements. I have tried to remove it in Add/remove Programs. It tells me This action is only valid for products that are currently installed. I then registered the eddition that I have, got the unlock code from adobe, and entered it. I still cannot delete it.
I don’t\’t mind keeping it, it just asks every time that I open a photo to accept the licence agreement. This is getting some what old. How can I remove it, or disable the program? Thank you inadvance,

Hey,
You cannot recover from deleted files. In case they are anywhere in your hard disk, you can easily recover them, but as what you see is just the thumbnail, it wont be of any help, trying recovering them from the catalog, which in any case is not in a readable format.

If you decide on Photoshop CC then you won't save any money trying to stay with your standalone version of Lightroom 5. Photoshop CC and Lightroom are offered together as a creative cloud package. There isn't a package that just offers Photoshop. So I'm not sure what you will accomplish by subscribing to Photoshop CC and then staying with your registered version of Lightroom. I don't know what complications you might run into. When I switched to the creative cloud subscription plan I replaced Lightroom 5 that I had been using. The programs are exactly the same. It's just a difference in licensing.
Photoshop CC has some nice features that you will not be able to get if you purchase Photoshop CS6. In the long run, it might seem that you will be saving money by purchasing standalone licenses. But eventually those versions will be obsolete, no longer supported by Adobe, and you will have no ability to update them other than to purchase upgrade versions. I decided it was easier to spend $10/month because I'm retired and it's easier to budget that amount than to come up with the money to purchase upgrades when they are needed. But that is something you will have to decide for yourself.

Lost pictures in Adobe Photoshop Starter 3.0

I have not used my Adobe Photoshop Starter 3.0 in years. H doqwn loaded pictures from my didital camera, and they downloaded to Adobe. I try to open Adobe on my desktop, and a cover registeration form popped up.So I registered, and was sent an email saying that it had been dixcontinued. And that I could get them by em\ntering Photoshop.com I did, and Got a ID, and passwort to enter. when I entered, There were not pictures there???? How do I get my pictures back??? I am using my PC with Windows 2000 Professionsl!!

The path for windows xp should get you somewhere in right area: (the My Computer shortcut on your desktop)
C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\My Documents\My Pictures\Adobe\Digital Camera Photos
Or look in the My Documents folder on your desktop if you never removed the shortcut.

Downloaded my digital camera photos to photoshop starter 3.2 which was on my computer from way back - when I saw that the download was completed I deleted the pictures from the camera - photoshop then asked me to register their product for a free access code - and refuses to let me use, edit or see my pictures without it - sent off the registration form for the code - laborious process - e-mail back that I thought would have the code needed just tells me the product is discontinued and invites me to buy other photoshop stuff - does anyone know the codes they use? If you used the same product the same code you got might unlock them for me - alternative ways to liberate my pictures appreciated.

Accessing photos from hard drive using photoshop starter edition 3.2

Hi, I have recently bought an external hard drive and have now copied all my photos from my c drive to my external hard drive. I would now like to access my photos directly from the external hard drive as well as download photos from my camera directly onto the external hard drive, can someone please help? I am currently using Adobe Photoshop Starter Edition 3.2 and running Microsoft XP. I read somewhere that I will need to change something in the Organizer, is this possible for Adobe Starter Edition 3.2?

Hi Christina,
The only thing you will encounter in doing is you might have to repeat
the process of bringing the images back into PSA SE because unlike the
Elements Family, it does not have the ability to move things.
I would suggest trying two things:
1. Begin by moving the images and then (AFTER YOU MOVE THE IMAGES) click
on File>Reconnect all files. The problem with this method is you have
reconnect EACH file separately. Not a very pleasant option.
2. (Recommended) If you are not worried about tagging as much, then
simply click on Get Photos>From Folder and then pick the External Drive.
It might force you to pick a certain folder, so I do recommend keeping
them in something like My Picture Ext so that it is easier for you, but
it will do it.

I have had photoshop starter edition 3.0 on my computer and I have downloaded all my pictures to save them. However, my computer had crashed and I now, can not retreive them because photoshop starter edition is asking for an unlock code which I do not have. However, I can see the photos on the programme but can not access them. Please can you help??

Same happened to me a few days ago. Uploaded all of my son's 3rd birthday photos. Then I was prompted to register. When I registered I was told to get the unlock code in the e-mail they sent. The e-mail only said "Sorry! Photoshop Starter is discontinued. Suggested I buy their software for $70.00. Will buying the software allow me to retrieve my photos? Is that my only option? I am awaiting an answer with you.

You need to sign in when using Photoshop Elements 12 as it is the method of activation. If you sign out it deactivates that installation.

When i select a picture in Bridge that i want to open in Photoshop, photoshop starts but does not work, Raw does not start. Worked before. Mac osx 10.9.5 Nikon D800.

I need HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had the Adobe Photoshop Starter Edition 3.0 as a free trial, for how long I don't know.
Last week it asked me to register to continue to be able to use it, which I did. It said it would send me an unblocking code, and I received it the next day. I opened the program and the registration screen came up, I clicked the button the enter the code, this is where it goes wrong.
When I enter the code, there is a button on the bottom of the window that says unblock now. This button never "comes to life so to say" I can't actually press it. I have tried everything I can think of and things I found here as well. It annoying me cos every single time I open the program the reistration window comes up and I can't actually access any of the tools on the Photoshop cos I can't get rid of registration.
I have had a baby a few months ago and all her photos are in this program and I am getting upset as I can't access the photos.
PLEASE CAN ANYONE HELP ME WITH THIS PROBLEM, I DON'T WANT TO LOOSE THE POTOS OF BABY

Hi Bob, Thanks for the help. Here goes then......I open the programme OPSE3.0 and my collection of photos appears, this is quickly followed by the Product Registration screen, if I then click on 'I already have an unlock code' another screen appears with a white box with the curser blinking in it, there is a button in the bottom left hand corner of this screen which says 'Unlock Now' but this is greyed out and remains so even when I put the unlock code into the white box. After I have entered the code I press 'enter' and all that I get is a beep from the pc. I then press the button in the bottom right hand corner which says 'exit without unlocking' and the programme closes. I have always had the same email address so I don't think that this is the problem. Thanks again for your efforts. regards, Geoff.
