Photoshop unable to load maximum quality 3D LUT files.
Hey all, revently I have been experimenting with exporting "looks" as 3D Lookup tables, however, have been running into an error where photoshop is unable to open 3D LUTs exported at maximum quality (256 grid points). When I export at 128 it works just fine but as I close in on that maximum quality (which I'd ideally want to use) I get the following error when trying to load the LUT back into photoshop after export:
I have tried both exporting and importing with multiple different computers to confirm that it wasn't something local to just one machine. All machines were Macs running the latest version of OSX and the latest version of Photoshop CC 2014.
Is this just a case where Photoshop is unable to load complex LUT files? Or could there be something wrong with how I am exporting my LUTs? Here is a screenshot of my export settings:
Any help would be great and I'd love to gain a greater understanding of what is happening, thanks!!
Ah ok, thanks, ya I find things seems to look fine at 64 or 128 but the perfectionist in me always wants to maximize quality as much as possible.

I have two Major issues with our Infinity Project computers,
We have one entire lab that is getting this error... "Unable to load
block component C:\Program Files\Hyperception\VABINF\KeyRcv.dll.
Please verify that the component exists and any dependencies it may
have are satisfied." It is also producing this error with
NumEntry.dll. Both files exist. I am not sure what
dependencies these files may have. Ideas?
We have several systems that are giving the following error on one of
our labs... "You have exceeded the number of block functions allowed by
VAB for Infinity; contact Hyperception regarding upgrades." From
what The professor here at UTA told me when I first took on this
project, this was a problem that we had on the previous boards and that
someone at Hyperception was able to help us resolve this problem.
Can you help out with these issues? The first one I need an answer today if possible.
Thanks,We have seen this type of problem on some computers (we do not know why as of yet).The problem with missing blocks is very likely being caused by file permissions, and can be seen when non-administrators are using VAB software. To resolve this: 1. login as ADMINISTRATOR 2. run the command line script from a DOS prompt as shown below: cacls "C:\Program FIles\Hyperception\VABINF" /T /E /G Everyone:F It will scroll through the name of every file in the provided directory, and all subdirectories. This should reset every file, and allow the USER to access all files in VAB software. This should correct the problem. Regards,Steve

Unable to load new information from configuration file /var/ldap/ldap_clien
Hi all,
When I run the command "ldapclient init", I got the error message:
# ldapclient init -a proxyDN=cn=proxyagent,ou=profile,dc=example,dc=ca -a domainName=example.ca -a profileName=UserProfile -a proxyPassword=pwd 10.1.10.50
Unable to load new information from configuration file '/var/ldap/ldap_client_file' ('Unable to open filename '/var/ldap/ldap_client_file' for reading (errno=2).').
Any idea?
Thanks a lot for your help!Does the profile UserProfile exist on your LDAP server?
Do the logs on your LDAP server show access problems?

Running CS2 on a Windows XP machine. I loaded the software and tried running it. I received multiple error messages saying, "Could not load default brushes because the file could not be found". I received errors for swatches, gradients, contours, patterns, styles, system shapes, and the tool presets. I then received the error message "Could not initiate Photoshop because a required text resources file is missing".
I removed and reinstalled Photoshop and am still receiving the error message. Any ideas on how to correct the problem?Ah ok, thanks, ya I find things seems to look fine at 64 or 128 but the perfectionist in me always wants to maximize quality as much as possible.

Creating Pdf in Photoshop CS6 - blurry at maximum quality setting
Hi,
I just tried to create Pdf.
I used high quality jpegs and chose a 100% quality setting and at 300 dpi.
I also chose the same pixel dimensions as the original documents.
But the outcome is blurry - as if the original had been highly compressed. The sum of the sizes of all files is about 40% larger than the final pdf file.
How can I get rid of this compression and create a pdf document whose pages are as sharp and high quality as the original?> pdf inflated the orginal file size by the factor 10
I should have warned you about that, Uncheck "Preserve Photoshop editing capabilities"
this extra step should look pretty good and make the doc even smaller:
Do not Downsample
Compression: JPG
Image Quality: High or Max -
Minimum size/maximum quality MP3 sound file balance
My first objective when creating MP3 files is to compress the sound file as much as possible, and I don't want any file to exceed 1MB, if possible. (One exception was compressing a 30 minute poetry recitation into a 1.8 MB file.) That turned out okay, but music is another story. So, I'd like to know more about how to strike a satisfactory balance between size and quality. For the iTunes MP3 import settings,this means choosing between (1) STEREO BIT RATES (16kbps to 320 kbps), (2) QUALITY (Low to Highest), and (3) CHANNEL (mono or stereo)
In the past, I have always chosen mono, but it now occurs to me that the quality enhancement of stereo might justify the larger files caused by slightly higher kbps settings. That's just one example. Anyway, I'd like to read an article on the trade-offs between the variables that iTunes provides. Any
suggestions?Stereo Bit Rate is what people are talking about when they say that a song is XXX kbps. (kbps is a measure of bit-rate, a measure of kilobytes per second).
Stereo v. Mono really depends on what type of song you are sampling, and what you are listening to it on. For virtually all music recorded after 1970, though, you'd probably want to use Stereo.
Also, you might get some mileage by making sure that you are importing the music at 41.100 kHz rather than using Auto or 48.000. (This is basically the "speed" at which the music is sampled. The faster its sampled, the more information it contains. It makes it higher quality, but also higher file size. You probably won't notice too much difference between 41.1 and 48.)
Finally, you should also check the Variable Bit Rate box. This will help reduce the file size, as the bit rate will be reduced during silences and other times where the song doesn't need more information.
As for the overall Bit Rate, its really subjective. Your best bet is to just try it at a few different levels and decide which is best for you. -

Illustrator won't run: "unable to set maximum number of files to be opened"
I have an intel macbook pro (core duo with 2GB ram) and a copy of purchased adobe creative suite 2. Other applications in the suite like photoshop, acrobat, etc can run on my mac without any problem. But when I try to run illustrator, it just shows an error message "Unable to set maximum number of files to be opened" and quits. I also installed a trial version of illustrator cs3 and got the same problem. Can anyone help? Thanks.
CCHi, I realize this is an old thread but it was unanswered and the issue has come up again in a newer thread:

If the original poster sees this, can you reply tin the new thread and let us know if you were ever to solve this problem?

[Solved] Problem with Xorg, unable to load the right keymap
Hi, people,
I recently installed arch on a desktop, but there is a problem installing X: for whatever reason, Xorg seems unable to load the correct keymap (fr-latin9) and instead, loads the default one.
I can see what seems to be the problem in the Xorg logs, but I actually absolutely don't know how to solve it. Here my /var/log/Xorg.0.log
root@kgentoo keikoz # cat /mnt/tmp/var/log/Xorg.0.log

[ 14.076] (EE) Error loading keymap /var/lib/xkb/server-0.xkm
[ 14.076] (EE) XKB: Failed to load keymap. Loading default keymap instead.
This file (server-0.xkm) actually does not exist on the system, BUT: it also does not exist on my others Arch installations and it works fine, without errors.
By the way: here is the keyboard-entry in the /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-evdev.conf
Section "InputClass"
Identifier "evdev keyboard catchall"
MatchIsKeyboard "on"
MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*"
Driver "evdev"
Option "XkbLayout" "fr"
Option "XkbVariant" "latin-9"
EndSection
Et voilà. Can somebody help ?
Last edited by kero (2012-09-27 17:39:38)Probably because "latin-9" doesn't exist?
# nano /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/fr
xkb_symbols "latin9" {
include "latin"
include "nbsp(level3)"
name[Group1]="French (legacy, alternative)";
key <TLDE> { [ oe, OE, leftdoublequotemark, rightdoublequotemark ] };
key <AE01> { [ ampersand, 1, dead_acute, periodcentered ] };
key <AE02> { [ eacute, 2, asciitilde, Eacute ] };
Try it without the dash (without the "-").
And don't forget to mark it as solved (by editing the first post). -
Unable to load movie playlist?
I'm really starting to regret Upgrading to Director 11. I
didn't have any of these issues going from MX to MX 2004. All I'm
trying to do is make a simple projector work on a Mac and it's one
issue after another. Not to mention all this after updating a whole
boat load of Xtras 11 requires.
The new one is this;
Unable to load movie playlist. Does the INI file exsist? It
must contain a section '(Movies)' with an entry
'Movies01=pathname.dir'.
I've already read a couple of other forum post with the same
error message going on with others but can't find certain files
required to make the fix like the 'Projec32.skl',
and I don't know how to read, let alone make an .INI file.
I'll mention I got this error after updating to Shockwave 11
EVEN though I was not publishing a Shockwave movie.
I know I just need to include a certain file on my CD when I
burn one because all works great on the desk top, but I'm throwing
darts trying to figure out what the CD burn is missing.
So to make a long story short does anyone know what I might
be missing?
I'm new to making director movies for the Mac, and even using
a Mac so I might need it spelled out a little more for being a
novice.
Thanks in advance. :o)>
PS I tried making a Mac Projector from my PC with no good
results either.This is a very frustrating problem. I have run into it as well, but can't tell you exactly how I solved it, its been a while since I've seen it. It does have something to do with the length of the path to your projector when its published. I would suggest moving your movie as close as possible to the root of the drive, you may even want to restart to ensure all the internal variables have been reset and then republish the movie.
If you publish the movie from your authoring location and then copy the projector to a cd or the desktop the path length seems to be built into the projector at publishing. So that does not solve the problem. It is fairly easy to get a long path name - c:/mylocaldrive/documents and settings/yourusername/yourprojectsfolder/yourprojectname.dir has a path name length of 100 characters! I realize you are on a mac, but the same rules apply.
I also might be mistaken with the maximum path length. Perhaps its 128 characters?
Has anyone else run into this error?

Ravi ShankerHi Ravi,
it is generally recommended that all new classes support POF in this or that way. This or that means either implementing PortableObject or to provide a PofSerializer implementation to be able to optimally serialize their state. Obviously it is not always possible but you should try to achieve that.
If it is not possible, then you can still convert them to byte[] or String by some other means. If that other means is Java serialization, then Coherence provides a different PofContext implementation (SafeConfigurablePofContext) which you can use instead of ConfigurablePofContext and which is able to fall back to Java serialization for Serializable classes (and also for types not registered in POF configuration but which implement PortableObject). However it is recommended that SafeConfigurablePofContext is not used in production, typically because Java serialization is generally inferior to POF serialization when looking at performance and serialized size, and SafeConfigurablePofContext does not force you to do the right thing, and finally because Java serialization is not platform-independent whereas POF is.

Unable to load external swf which has runtime sharing with another swf.
Hi,
I am getting issues on loading external swf say "importer.swf" file into another swf file say "loader.swf" for second time like
ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable testSymbol is not defined. VerifyError: Error #1014: Class testClass could not be found.
at global$init()
In the external swf "importer.swf", i am trying to import the symbol "testSymbol" from another swf file say "exporter.swf", which exports through runtime sharing option for the symbols.
I am having some buttons in loader.swf file and on each button click i am loading different swf files into the loader.swf after unloading the previous one.
I am able to load and unload different swf files but unable to load the importer.swf file which is sharing symbols from external swf and that too for the second time i.e., when i click the button twice.
When trying to debug with flash debugger, all the other swf files are being unloaded before loading of another swf but the swf which is sharing symbols/classes with another swf is not getting unloaded.
Output when i am trying to load two files example and importer files into loader.swf file on two different button clicks. On first button click example.swf is loaded. On second button click , example.swf is unloaded and importer.swf is loaded which is successful. On first button click again importer.swf is unloaded and example.swf is loaded. On second button click again, example.swf is unloaded and importer.swf is loaded, here i am getting issues shown above.
Attemping to launch and connect to Player using URL D:\runtime issue\loader.swf
[SWF] D:\runtime issue\ loader.swf - 8181 bytes after decompression
[SWF] D:\runtime issue\example.swf - 441708 bytes after decompression
[UnloadSWF] D:\runtime issue\example.swf
[SWF] D:\runtime issue\importer.swf - 1920 bytes after decompression
[SWF] D:\runtime issue\importer.swf - 441708 bytes after decompression
[SWF] D:\runtime issue\ example.swf - 441708 bytes after decompression
[UnloadSWF] D:\runtime issue\ example.swf
[SWF] D:\runtime issue\importer.swf - 1920 bytes after decompression
ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable xxxxxx is not defined.
Debug session terminated.
Code i am using
b1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, b1Clicked);
b2.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, b2Clicked);
var ldr:Loader;
function b2Clicked(e:MouseEvent)
if(ldr != null)
ldr.unloadAndStop(true);
ldr = new Loader();
ldr.load(new URLRequest("importer.swf"));
addChild(ldr);
function b1Clicked(e:MouseEvent)
if(ldr != null)
ldr.unloadAndStop(true);
ldr = new Loader();
ldr.load(new URLRequest("example.swf"));
addChild(ldr);
If i try to open the swf using IE, i am not getting any issues at all. But i need to open this loader.swf in a air application. Also when i use loaderContext for the loader instance i am able to get rid of this issue but i cant use it in my application.
So, please help me in resolving this issue.
ThanksI got my answer. I had to append the photo url to the 'movie' value of the javascript embed method. Like this:

'src', 'lesson2',
'quality', 'high',
'pluginspage', 'http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer',
'align', 'middle',
'play', 'true',
'loop', 'true',
'scale', 'showall',
'wmode', 'window',
'devicefont', 'false',
'id', 'lesson2',

Unable to load CS5.5 on my 10.9.5 iMac
Unable to load CS5.5 on my 10.9.5 iMac window pops when I try to open 'Could not initialize Photoshop because the disk is not available'. This is a Student and Teacher copy. Can someone help me with this?
It is not clear if you understand what that message is indicating. It is telling you that you need to identify the older version of whatever CS5.5 upgrade you are installing to prove that you qualify for the upgrade. This could be CS5, CS4, etc.
