Photoshop und Windows ME

Nach einem Kursus in digitaler Bildbearbeitung plane ich dei Anschaffung von Photoshop Elements. Leider musste ich feststellen, dass die neue Version 3 nicht auf Windows ME läuft. Welche Versionen von Photoshop und Photoshop Elements laufen noch auf ME?

Photoshop Elements 2 läuft wohl noch unter ME, aber wo es die noch zu kaufen gibt? Vielleicht auf ebay oder Amazon marketplace ...
Ich würde ein Betriebssystemupdate vorschlagen.

Photoshop und Illustrator macht Probleme

Ich habe die Adobe Design Standard CS5 auf meinem vernünftig ausgestatteten Dienstrechner installiert.
Xeon Prozessor, 4 GB Ram, Windows XP, genügend freier Festplattenplatz
Schon immer habe ich hier Probleme gleichzeitig in Illustrator und Photoshop und InDesign zu arbeiten. Ich muss immer die anderen CS-Anwendungen schließen um vernünftig in einer zu arbeiten. Sind mehrere CS-Anwendungen gleichzeitig geöffnet und ich möchte Datein öffnen und bearbeiten, so fehlen diverse Fenster z.B. in Illustrator bzw. ich kann Dateien garnicht öffnen oder geöffnete nicht bearbeiten. Hin und wieder kommen Fehlermeldungen über ungenügend Speicher. Der Taskmanager zeigt allerdings nichts kritisches an. Das Problem hatte ich davor auch schon in der CS3, ich hatte gehofft, das Update auf CS5 behebt diese Probleme. Leider nicht. Auch eine komplette Neuinstallation der CS5 hat nicht geholfen. Unsere EDV hat auch keinen Plan und würde den rechner plattmachen und neu aufsetzen, das möchte ich aber möglichst vermeiden. Wer kann hilfreiche Tipps geben?

Öhm, neuen Rechner kaufen? Nix für ungut, aber das klingt nach Modell Gurke. "Vernünftig ausgestattet" ist heutzutage was anderes. Wenn die Probleme schon seit CS3 bestehen, wird auch das Plattmachen und Neuaufsetzen des Rechners zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt nix bringen - aus einem 5 oder 6 Jahre alten Toaster wird nun mal keine Rakete, um so mehr, als all diese Probleme doch sehr stark dafür Sprechen, dass schlichtweg die Grafikkarte oder, Gott mög's verhindern, der Onboard-Grafikchip einfach schon immer nicht wirklich so toll waren. Da bringt auch Treiberfummelei nix. Davon abgesehen, auf einem 32bit Betriebssystem mit nur 4GB mehrere speicherintensive Applikationen gleichzeitig laufen haben zu wollen (womöglich noch mit gigantischen Bildern für Printpublikationen) und zu erwarten, dass diese das ohne Verzögerungen und Einschränkungen tun, ist reines Wunschdenken. Allein schon wenn die Festplatten langsam sind, haspelt sich Windoof mit seiner Auslagerungsdatei hier zu Tode, nicht zu sprechen von Photoshops eigenen Auslagerunsdateien...

Photoshop cs3 + windows vista + intuos 3

I am working with "photoshop cs3" "windows ultimate vista" and an "wacom intuos 3" tablet and I experience heavy lags while drawing like the brush-strokes don't quite follow my moves, and I have to wait for them to catch up.
When I open a large file and I try to apply the first brush stroke on my drawing the cursor screen disappears for a while and photoshop is not responding.
Then Photoshop comes back so the cursor and I can start to work. But as soon as I drag the page using the little Hand tool photoshop stops responding again for few more seconds and when it restarts I can hardly control the direction of my new brush strokes.
Apparently in order to restart the only remedy I found (by chance) is by toggling the layer visibility status (change a layer from visible to not and back to visible again). After this exercise I can draw in photoshop again! But of course same problems again as soon as I will use the hand tool and move on the screen again!!!
Any idea about what could be behind my problems!?
What should I check?
(These problems started after last week immediately after re installation of vista on my machine, I never had this problem with vista photoshop and intuos on that same machine before!)

I have CS3, Vista Ultimate and an Intuos3 tablet. No lags or delays now. But I used to have them and many were reported on the Wacom Users Forum when Vista first came out. I can't remember now what the fix was - have a look on the Wacom Users' Forum. If you had it running ok on your previous Vista installation some software setting must have changed in the new installation. Things that may help are:
get latest Nvidia vga card drivers (if you have an Nvidia card); get the latest Wacom driver; Logitech Setpoint software conflicting - the latest is ok for me; disable/switch off the Vista Pen and Input device.
Sorry, I can't remember the fixes but they should be available if you dig around in the Wacom Users' Forum.

What can be done so that I can either open and see the layers or how can the sender save it in a way that it doesn't "merge" the layers in some way to just one?

Could try saving as tiff provided layers and transparency are chosen at the time of saving. But it's hard to give a definitive answer as it depends on the final usage. For example PSD's tend to work better in applications like In Design in comparison with tiff.

Loading updates fails at the end of the loading. Tried it yesterday and today same errors. Are the files corrupted at server or how to fix this ?

Photoshop CS4 Window Stays In Background

When I drag an image file into Photoshop CS4, the file opens but Photoshop remains in the background – i.e., in the window behind the one that I dragged the file from.
For example - I open Photoshop, then open Bridge, with the Bridge window mostly covering Photoshop’s window. Drag a file from Bridge to PS. The file opens in PS, but the PS window is still behind Bridge’s window. I have to either ALT-Tab or click on the PS Window to bring it to the front.
On prior editions of PS, it would come to the front automatically when a new file was opened. I still have CS3 on my computer, and verified this.
This happens whether the file is dragged from Bridge, Windows Explorer, or Thumbs Plus. It happens in both the 64 and 32 bit versions of CS4. I looked through the preferences and don’t see anything that seems to relate to this behavior. Is this how CS4 is meant to work? Is there any setting I can tweak to change this?

It doesn't happen here.
Sometimes I have to use the Arrange Documents menu to float the image.
However, I normally jut "Open" them from Bridge with a double click or right-click, rather than dragging.

Invalid Serial Number Photoshop Elements (Windows) download

Can you help out? I have received an invalid serial number when installing the Photoshop Elements (Windows) 12. I have the serial number from the Adobe website for this product. What can be done to complete the installation?

If the serial number is from Adobe website then all you need to do is to copy and paste it in your PSE so that there isn't any error in copying the serial number and inserting it manually in PSE.

The closest I know is assigning "Move focus to the menu bar" in the Preferences a keyboard shortcut and then navigating with the arrow keys (letters may also work to highlight, but not to expand in and of themselves once the focus is on the menu bar).

Issue with AMD/ATI 11-3 driver and Photoshop on Windows.

The latest AMD/ATI drivers for Radeon HD cards (4xxx, 5xxx, and 6xxx series), 11-3, breaks Normal and Advanced OpenGL modes in Photoshop on Windows.
Note that this does not occur with 11-1 or 11-2 drivers on the same system. We recommend you stick with 11-1 or 11-2 until this problem is addressed.
We're working with AMD on the issue and there should be a driver update very soon.

Colour matching problems photoshop to windows picture viewer.

Hi, Im having trouble colour matching photoshop to windows picture/fax viewer. The colours in windows (as many people have said before) are a lot more saturated.
Im using an EIZO CG222W and Photoshop CS2, colour balanced with an Eye-One Display.
The prints returns from photographic labs match what is displayed in photoshop perfectly though obviously not in windows.
I know windows is not colour balanced but I thought there would be little difference as we are also using another EIZO monitor and a IIYAMA monitor and these have no problems switching between photoshop and windows though they are both also colour balanced with the eye-one.
This applies to ALL windows applications... all colours in Internet explorer etc are over saturated as well.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I did think of that as the reason, although I was a bit confused as like i said, we are also using another EIZO monitor which has a perfect balance between photoshop and windows yet I've checked all the setting between the two monitors which are the same.
It's an older eizo so it may just be this new one has a wider gamut.
Thanks for your help. I'll look into sRGB restrictions on windows and see if that works.
