Photoshop workspace window too large

How do I decrease the size of my photoshop work space window?  When photo shop is open the workspace area goes to the top of my screen and all the way past the bottom of my screen.  This causes a problem because I can not grab the bottom corner to make smaller.  I als can not see the enotre workspace.  When I'm in motion mode the timeline bar at the bottom only show a tiny bit so I can't see what I'm working on.  Any suggestions?

What version of photoshop and operating system are you using?
If your on a mac, have you tried clicking on the Green Maximize button to fit photoshop to your screen size?
Or set your screen resolution down to the smallest size i.e. 800 x 600 and then go back to the max screen size.

running 10.4.11 finder window too large need to get lbak to default.

    Hi again BDA...
I'm not certain if it will work on other windows. I am more concerned with it working with the Firefox interface and did not try it on an alternate window.
On Sep 4, 2012 2:47 PM    (in response to Alexander_Apple) you said:
"Firefox uses it own settings & Method for that"
That does make sense which is why I asked if any of the Mac gurus know where in Firefox I go to change the setting. I wasn't really keen on adding another 3rd-party app to my machine. There must be a simpler route to take. Maybe change a preference in Firefox 3.6.28 or in the Displays Preferences? My display is a Samsung LED monitor Model NO. SMBX2235. My Displays Preferences are: "1920 x 1080 @ 60 HZ (NTSC) Millions" but, having not changed them since first setting up the monitor, I'm fairly certain it's not the Displays Preferences. Is there a chance I hit a Function key plus a letter or number one day when typing? I don't recall doing so.
Thanks for all  your suggestions BDA. I find  it's a bit confusing when you type the word "Windows" with an uppercase "W". Windows to me is something used on an IBM compatible computer. I, personally, do not consider one computer to be better than another. They each have their own advantages and disadvantages and  each type of machine can handle certain apps better than the other machine.
Thanks again BDA. I hope you have a great day!

  • How do I resize Photoshop - it's too large for my Macbook Pro screen and I can't get to the resize corners?

Photoshop is too large for my Macbook Pro screen.  I cannot access the resize handles - they're off the screen and I can't drag it.  Any solution?

Do you see the red, yellow, and red window buttons? If so click on the green one.
If you don't see them then you are possibly in full screen mode, and pressing the "F" key once or twice allow you to get back to normal mode.

  • Finder window too large

I am running 10.4.11.  Somehow my finder window became too lagre.  How do I make it smaller?

Is it just one Window, all of them, or is it the Desktop that is too large?
Did you accidentally hit Zoom, CMD+Option+8, do it again, or open System Preferencess>Universal Access>Seeing & turn Zoom OFF.

  • FF window too large when using extended desktop. Must reboot to return to correct size when I return it to the main screen.

I watch on-line videos on my HDTV by using "extended desktop" and sliding the FF window to the HDTV. The window becomes too large to access the controls to size it, or the top bar, to move it.
I can move FF window back to my pc by minimizing it on the pc toolbar, but when I "restore" it, it restores to the HDTV. I can not move it back to the pc, I also cannot re-size the screen

Hello.  Thank you all for giving my some advise but I do not understand any of it.
I'm a bit of a technophobe when it comes to computers.
It is a Sony Vaio and there is a model number on the base of the laptop PCG-71911M.  I have tried to look in the Control Panel to see if I can find its specifications but these days the system is too complicated for me to understand.
I did try seek out the information on the internet but just get a French site. Doh!!!
I use Nikon View NX software when I am viewing my images and again if I go to full screen for viewing the image the taskbar 'occludes' the little arrows I use to view the next image. When this happens I just click the little box in the far right edge of the taskbar and ViewNX 'disappears'.  When I go back in and click on 'show desktop' it clears the taskbar. I can then easily access the buttons to move forward.  Also when I am using PSE8 I have the same problem with accessing the buttons after I have completed my raw adjustments in the ACR window but it allows me to press the buttons with great difficulty if I can 'catch' the edge of the button and the ACR goes into PSE8 properly.  I'm sorry that I have not explained myself well. At the present it looks as if the ACR window is too 'large' for the PSC5 window it 'sits upon'. It seems that it does not want to 'sit over' the taskbar. I have eventually fathomed that I can use Cntl and O to open the image (Open Image button) but this is not the least bit satisfactory.  I don't know how I am going to access the other options eg 'done' and 'cancel' and 'save image'.
Thank you all once again and any help - but idiots' language please - would be gratefully accepted.
    Jacqueline.

  • Photoshop cs6 window too big for screen, lost the drag facility?

I have lost the corner of the photoshop window below the dock so don't have access to the drag facility in the window corner. I have tried resizing the screen but this hasn't helped, any ideas welcome!!

What OS are you running?  I would think it would have some function to allow you move windows that are larger then your display so you can move the windows so part of the window frame is on screen so you can then re-size the window.
For example I just move my Chrome browser window sot the top of the window is behind the task bar.  I now can not move it necause I can mot position the mouse int the window header bar.  However I can position the mouse over the running Chrome icon in the task bar. Windows will show a preview of the running Chrome window or windows. If I right click on a preview window Window's will open a right click menu  I can click on the move item and them move the off screen window on to the display using the arrow keys or the mouse.

  • Find Change window too large and I cannot make it smaller

In Indesign CC the find/change window is continually resizing. This happens when I place a larger block of text into the find or replace field. After a few such changes I end up with a window as wide as my screen. I am able to get rid of it by restarting Indesign and resetting the preferences at restart. This is not a solution. How can this window be reduced in size or better yet set to remain at a fixed size.
I am operating on a Mac with system: 10.10.2
    Thanks

  • Browser upload window too large

After downloading Yosemite, the drop down window that comes open when uploading files for emails or imessage is now so large that I can't see the Open or Cancel buttons.  How do I resize this?

Hold down the option key>Finder>Go>Library.  Trash the com.apple.finder.plist file.  Repair permissions and restart your computer afterwards.  See if that helps.

  • Photoshop files savings too large (650mb, regularly 21mb) - HELP!

    hello.
i've got a mac book pro with 4 gb and have been using cs3 for the past 3 years.
i normally work in 8 x 10 formats for my designs. those files that are saved are all currently at about 21 - 22mb.
my current projects i've been working on have been saving at 650mb's and the computer isn't responding well. every time i execute a command i get the spinning color wheel. i am also unable to save files because it is giving me the error message of not being able to save files larger than 2 gb.
i took my computer into mac this morning to see if my hard drive was failing due to the spinning color wheel, computer is fine.
technician thought it could be photoshop or a 3rd party plug in?
any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

Most likely you've just added a lot of layers, or mistakenly resized the image to something larger than you need.
We don't know of any bugs or third party bugs that would cause the file to save larger than it really is.

  • Program windows too large after using migration assistant

This seems like a silly question. I just got my MacBook for Christmas and I used Migration Assistant to transfer everything from my iMac to the MacBook. It worked great except that the sizes of the program windows remained the same as well, and they are too big on this 13" screen for me to access things that are way down on the bottom of the window. I can't get a hold of the corner tab that allows you to resize the window manually because it is off the bottom of the screen. I did try minimizing/moving the task bar from the bottom of the screen, but the windows are still too big. I discovered the problem in iTunes, but I suspect it is universal. I'd appreciate any help you can offer! Thanks.

I was having problems with my photo booth, when i'd open it up i could only see half of the pics that I had already taken. I couldn't delete them or anything. After reading what you wrote it had dawned on me, maybe it could have been the screen resolution. I followed your steps and now I can delete the pics I didn't want & I can also see the full photo booth thingy [:
even thou I didn't ask a question, you answered mine & thank you very much [:

  • Rule window too large

    I have a new MacBook 13".
When opening preferences and the window for rules I have problems. The window is too long and hides the buttons for OK and Back.
This means that i am stuck and cannot continue with Mail without forcing it to quit.
    Any solutions?

I had this same problem with one of my rules. The reason it had so many conditions was because I am moving emails from 15-20 different senders to a specific folder. Each sender is a line item of the rule which is what made it so big. I have a 15" MacBook Pro. I can edit and see the entire rule when on an external monitor, but not when using the laptop screen.
So if you attach an external monitor, you should be able to get to the buttons on the bottom. Then what I did was break out this rule to two different rules so each rule is half as big as the original and both can be edited, etc. on the MacBook Pro screen. But if your rule is such that you can't break it into two separate rules to make each smaller than the original rule and/or you don't have access to an external monitor so you can get to the editing buttons in order to split out the rule, my solution here won't work for ya.

  • Photoshop comes in too large and is dysfunctional

when I opened PS today it came in very large and does not fit on the screen any more. Using ctrl + - does nothing, resetting essentials or photography does nothing either, When I open a file it comes in as a white background..... there is no picture. I un-installed PS and then re-installed it but the problem remains.

  • Finder windows too large

Every time I open a new finder window in 10.2.8, the bottom of the window extends past the bottom of the screen. I have to press the green button to be able to adjust the bottom slide on the new window. Does anyone know how to fix this?
    Thanks,
    Bill

    Bill,
You can also reposition the finder window (by grabbing it at the top of the window after you have used the green button and pushing its bottom right corner to size). Close this finder window, and now, new finder windows should open where you last positioned this window. It should remember its postition on opening a new finder window.

  • Itunes window too large after upgrade!

After upgrading to itunes 8.2, the the itunes window opens so that the bottom of it is below the bottom of my display. I can't get to the "handle" on the bottom corner to make it smaller, and I can't get to any commands on the bottom of the screen (can't add playlists!!) Any suggestions?

Go to System Prefs and change your screen resolution. Resize the window, then change the resolution back.
