Cordialement,
--Jean-François.

Download trouble today Got the message for new updates for Lightroom and Photoshop CC.   Download fails, under learn more ,, corupt files  Fist time this hapened in a year Whats the remedy?

There's a number of potential problems here, and they may not necessarily be at your end.
First of all, it should be clear that CMYK is not so much a generic "image mode" as it is a description of specific press conditions. If you produce final CMYK, you must have the right profile. Don't use Image > Mode, use Convert to Profile.
Given that, I would question anyone who doesn't accept Adobe RGB photographs for a magazine article, because it implies a process that isn't properly color managed and generally not up to date. A standard workflow today would use InDesign, where images are normally placed in their original RGB space whatever that is. Then the conversion to final output CMYK is done as the last step, when producing a press-ready PDF from InDesign.
It helps tremendously if you know that final CMYK, because then you can proof to that so your file survives the CMYK conversion with the least possible damage (we're talking gamut clipping here; not general color shifts). But it's not absolutely required, which is why this workflow is relaitively safe.
Third, CMYK jpeg is in itself risky, because many jpeg decoders (in some software) don't have proper CMYK support. The result can be weird colors. This could well be the problem here, because it sounds as if your client uses a non-standard workflow.
So what to do? I would send two files. One sRGB as reference, which is guaranteed to come through correctly. Then find a way to send TIFF for the CMYK version if they insist, or ask them to try opening it in different software. Of course you should have a calibrated and profiled display, but I agree that's probably not the immediate problem here. There's no particular reason a CMYK file should come back with twisted colors if it's opened and processed in properly color managed software.

  • Photoshop CC fails to download

I have just purchased a one year subscription to PhotoshopCC and Lightroom.  Lightroom downloaded like a dream.  Photoshop will download to 84% and then it fails.  The message I am getting states:

  • Switching to the monthly plan for photographers. Trying to downloading the Photoshop CC. What are the steps? Where do I find the app on my desktop?

I have the free Creative Cloud, which ends Sept. 5, 2014. I have switched to the monthly plan. Do I just update the Creative Cloud for just PhotoshopCC and Lightroom 5 or do I have to download PhotoshopCC again?
I tried to download Photoshop, but it asks my to choose the place on my hard drive (C). I can't seem to find it to open it up. I need help.  Can someone please guide me through this?
I also have Lightroom 5 under the Creative Cloud that I have to switch.

Geez, don't mix up everything! The free CC access may or may not include full access to all apps. Now, with the monthly subscription for photographers, you will only have access to PS, LR and BR. So it seems, you already have all the apps installed, so no need to download anything again. With the beginning of your new subscription, you change the account details in your CC account manager and then either it deletes the apps which are not licenced or you just won't be able to start them anymore.

  • The desktop on which I had Lightroom and PhotoshopCC installed failed and I no longer have access to it. How do I deactivate the software on those machines so that I can reinstall it on my new Mac?

Question: The desktop on which I had Lightroom and PhotoshopCC installed failed and I no longer have access to it. How do I deactivate the software on those machines so that I can reinstall it on my new Mac?

Absolutely - but I had no idea there were two versions. When I got my new laptop I just went to the Adobe site to download and install LR5. It never asked if I had a license; it just directed me to install CC to start a trial which I thought I could license after downloading. Several sessions and many hours of looking through the forums and Google for an answer I never ran across anything that made this distinction. I still haven't found a path from www.adobe.com that would get me to the standalone download page (it's probably there, wasn't obvious to me) and looking at the download page it doesn't make any CC/standalone distinction.
There are many places I could have gotten a hint - for instance the license could be tagged "stand alone edition", the CC-version could recognize the stand-alone key and either accept it or produce a more meaningful error message, or the download site or the CC app could ask if I had previously purchased a key, etc.
It was my error to assume this was a deactivation problem, but it looked the same as a previous deactivation problem with Photoshop.
In any event, thank you for your help.

  • Using lightroom smart objects in photoshopcc

To save space on my laptop, I use smart objects(photos stored in port drive), I can edit from lightroom into PSCC only if I connect my portable drive. I have scoured through many articles without success. Is there a trick to this ? Lightroom synchs well with my photos on my portable drive, I would think PSCC can do the same without having to be connected. Does anyone know about this ? Thank you !

Photoshop does not need to as it is not connected to any drive or folder. It relies on your operating system, that can easily access your external drives, once they are connected. You could try setting your external drive's image folder as a favorite. (Both windows and Mac support favorites in explorer and finder) Then it would be easy to access the next time it is connected.

  • When I commenced subscriptions for PhotoshopCC i was billed $19.99 per month.  The advertised fee is now $9.99 per month for a single product.  How do I change to the lower payment plan.?

Where are you seeing that? I still see Single App membership at US$19.99/month.
Creative Cloud free trial & plans : Adobe Creative Cloud
The only US$9.99/month offering is Photoshop+Lightroom.
So I guess you're asking to swap from the Photoshop Single App Plan to the Photography Plan (PS+LR)?

  • How do I update to photoshop camera raw 8.6 in PhotoshopCC

When I try to edit a lightroom file in PhotoshopCC I get a message This version of lightroom may requiire the photoshop camera Raw plugin version 8.6 for full compatibility. Please update using Photoshop help menu.
When I use photoshop help and click on check for updates it says all apps are up to date. I know my PhotoshopCC version is out of date as is my camera raw version. I spent an hour being run around in circles by Adobe Chat help with no solution. Does anyone have an idea of how to update Camera Raw plug-in in PhotoshopCC?

It is Correct for your Current OS = Leopard = 10.5.8
The first step in Upgrading... is to Snow Leopard = OS X 10.6.x
It is Not available as a download...
    Do this first...
Check that your Mac meets the System Requirements for Snow Leopard...
    Snow Leopard Tech Specs
    http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
If so Contact Apple in your Country to Purchase a Snow Leopard Disc...
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
    In the US...
    1-800-MY-APPLE or 1-800-676-2775
After the Successful Install, run Software Update to get the latest updates for Snow Leopard.
Be sure to make a Backup of your Current System Before Upgrading...

  • Editing photos in Photoshop CC via Lightroom 5

In Lightrroom, using Photo>Edit in>PhotoshopCC, I make a few adjustments, then want to go back to LR. I hit the close button on Photoshop CC, it asks if I want to save the photo, it comes back with options where I choose TIFF and some associated parameters, the program closes and puts the file back in the folder where the original folder is, but when I go back into LR the edited photo is not there, just a copy wiithout the changes I made in CC. If I go to the folder with the file explorer in Winddows 8, it show the file there. For some reason LR is not recognizing the new edited TIFF and displaying it.

Has the behavior changed compared to how it used to open ? If so, do you refer to the Camera RAW window similar to this: http://screenshots.en.sftcdn.net/en/scrn/78000/78026/adobe-camera-raw-22.jpg
What is the file extension of your photos ?
In Lightroom, there is no special way of opening a RAW file vs. JPEG. They all open the same. What is the Lightroom behavior ? Can you post a screenshot ?

  • I can't edit in PhotoshopCC 2014; the file won't open.

Since upgrading to PhotoshopCC 2014, I can't open files to edit from Lightroom in it. Anyone else having this issue, and how do we fix it?
    http://www.pinterest.com/pin/create/extension/

The solution is usually to reinstall PS-CC-2014, but now that PS-CC-2014.1 has been released, just install that.  Do Help / Updates in PS, and if that doesn’t give you the update, again, then also log out of the CC Desktop app using Gear / Preferences / Account / Signout, then sign back in, and maybe do Help / Updates, again.  At some point it’ll tell you there is an update and you can just download and install it.
