if you can't mount the image, you probably have a corrupt download.

Have deleted (secure delete) and reinstalled several times. Got it to open once right after download... Usually crashes/hangs upon attempted start-up, then shows as "Application unresponsive".   Must be forced to quit.
No other audio interfaces or drivers installed that I am aware of. Playback through onboard audio interfaces, sometimes routed to Apple TV via Cat 5 cable, out to receiver via fiber optic SPDIF, or to Panasonic HDTV via HDMI cable through Thunderbolt port.

  • Crossgrade, universal version will NOT open on Macbook Pro

I just got my crossgrade in the mail, and installed everything. I can open and use every studio app EXCEPT Final Cut Pro.
I checked each app, and they all claim to be universal. Here is the funny part: when i click "open with rosetta" for FCP it opens perfectly (albiet very slowly)
The other programs do not require rosetta as they seem to be running natively on my much vaunted intel chips.
Anyone have any idea what gives here?

Tried that, updating OSX etc. Nothing.
However, console spits out this when I try to run it:
dyld: Library not loaded: @executable_path/../Frameworks/AVCVideoServices.framework/Versions/A/AVCVideoSe rvices

  • Safari will not open on macbook pro

Safari was working fine last night. Tonight I try to open it but nothing happens.
Have tried restarting but now Safari won't quit properly to let me do this again.
    Any advice?

but now Safari won't quit properly to let me do this again.
You can "force quit" the Safari application. Go to your Apple menu top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click "Force Quit". Or Command + Option + Esc on your keyboard.
You can also force quit apps using Activity Monitor located in /Applications/Utilities
Select My Processes from the pop up menu then select Safari then click the red force quit button.
BTW... when you post for help, please tell us which Mac OS X you have installed.  Thanks!

  • CD will not eject and MacBook Pro won't restart

CD will not eject and MacBook Pro won't restart.

Do a SMC reset, that hopefully should get you booting and while booting, hold the option/alt and trackpad button down at the same time. Once a row of icons appears and if the disk hasn't ejected via the trackpad method, then press the eject key on the keyboard until it does.
Click the arrow to boot up OS X.

If this doesn't work, then take the machine in for service.

  • Photoshop CS6 will not launch on MacBook Pro. Adobe icon appears then disappears.

On a macbook pro.photoshop will not open. i've tried everything all that happens is an adobe icon appears and then quickly disappears. i have photoshop cs6 suite for a little over a year now. no problems until today. please help - i have a project due tomorrow.

    Hello:
I am sorry but I am a Windows user and so I am not sure I can help you. I do not know if you have enough time before your project is due but if you do not get an answer here you may want to just call Adobe. They have techs that can walk you through everything. They can take over your computer and fix it for you. They have done this for me many times when I have had problems and I have always been helped.
I do not know if Mac is the same but have you tried going to your Program Files? Like... your C drive > whatever > whatever > program files? and then right + click to open it from there ...?? does Mac have something similar??
I totally wish that I could help you more than this!! Best of luck and I really do hope you can get your project done or an extension!!

  • Itunes will not open on macbook.  says requires quicktime 7.5.5 or later.

Have a macbook and when I try to open itunes it says that itunes requires quicktime 7.5.5 or later.  I try to download quicktime as i have 7.5 and it tells me to manage software through the software update function.  The software update function will not find an update for quicktime.  Help!  Not sure how to get itunes set up

    Hi there,
I have also just updated my computer via the system updates. I am running OS Snow Leopard 10.5.8, and my iTunes won't open and then prompts me for a Quicktime update 7.5.5.
Now, I have gone through the Apple support and downloaded the Quicktime update 7.5.5 for OS 10.5 or later (or whatever it was - the second from the top?). Anyways, it says it installed properly and that I need to restart my laptop. Once I have restarted, iTunes still will not open and it still says I need to update Quicktime.
I have tried a few other solutions and nothing seems to work. Do you have any further suggestions on what I have to do to make this work? I'd really not like to have to use another media player to play music. And I don't really want to have to go out and buy a new laptop.. Although I'm starting to get really frustrated with the apparent lack of support for older versions.
Any thing you can suggest will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

  • AOL mail will not work on MacBook Pro, but works on iMac

My wife has attempted to check her aol mail account online, through Safari, and every message that she opens appears as "garbage." I recently installed Snow Leopard on both of our computers. AOL mail works on my iMac, but not her Macbook Pro. Honestly, among other issues, I'm a little disappointed with Snow Leopard. Leopard was released without problems for either of us.

Did you ever find out what the problem is???

  • Iphone 4s will not mount on MacBook Pro (Via USB)

My iphone (6.1.3) won't connect to computer (Macbook pro (10.7.5). I rarely do this, so perhaps have inadvertantly turned off an important setting? But typically iphone is accessible from desktop, itunes and iphoto. Not visible anywhere currently. I performed a restart on iphone (apple logo visible) but still won't mount. I am using an Apple USB cable as always, and have also tried the backup cable -both of which will charge the phone pefectly. I did hear the connection sound when cable was attached.
I have wifi & phone works perfectly on that, but I typically use cable connection for computer access.
I have not "upgraded" to ios 7 as I'm not to fond of its current UI. But perhaps this is the problem? Until now this phone was fully compatible w the laptop & 10.7.5 OS.
    Suggestions? Thanks

    Hello JazzJunkie,
I would be concerned as well if my iPhone was not recognized by iTunes.  Thank you for providing all the information with the steps you took in regards to this issue.  I recommend continuing with these steps:
Follow these steps to resolve your issue:
Ensure that your Mac meets the minimum system requirements for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
Install software updates on your Mac.
Note: If an iTunes update is available, apply the update.http://apple.com/itunes/download
Check USB connections. iOS devices require USB 2.0 to function properly. If you're not sure your Mac has USB 2.0 ports, refer to the computer's specifications.
Disconnect other USB devices and connect your device directly to a USB port on your Mac.
    Restart your Mac.
    Additional Information
In rare circumstances, your device may be recognized after reinstalling iTunes, but after you restart your Mac, the device may not be recognized again. If this happens and you're using Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard, please follow these steps.

  • IMove all of a sudden will not open on Mac Pro

iMovie will not run on my MacPro. It has in the past. The window I get says that it requires a graphics card that is compatible with Quartz Extreme. One or more of your graphics cards does not support Quartz Extreme. What? It runs fine on my Mac Book Pro and even my old imac. Any ideas? I am stumped. I have not changed my graphics cards in my MacPro so why won't it run? Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Tom

Having the same problem with it either not opening, freezing on opening, or opening and then half of the clips are missing, won't display, projects are missing, etc. Tried all of the fixes listed here to no avail. I've been searching all over the iMovie 08 forum and this problem is posted in several different threads. It appears to be a growing problem for users of 10.5.3. One post had you throw out a preference file, I tried that too but nothing in any of these posts is working. Any other ideas?

  • App store does not open on Macbook pro

For the last couple of months App Store has been inaccessible from my MacBook Pro. The App Intro Screen with the large A just sits there and does nothing. I still get notices of upgrades and am able to do these. But there is no access to the App Store from my own screen.
I have tried trashing the preferences apple appstore plist files but that made no difference.
What do I do to get the App Store app working again?
