Photosmart 2710 need to change region for printer cartridges

Hi:
I am an international resident currently residing in Brazil. My printer is programmed for Asian print cartridges and the region needs to be changed so I can purchase cartridges locally.
When I changed from Europe to Asia, HP support in Singapore was very helpful and English speaking. Support in Brazil only speaks Portuguese and I need the instructions in English.
Who can I contact for this, as I am out of warranty and the HP Website is a maze of unhelpfulness, if you are out of warranty.

You will need to Contact HP to request a "Regionalization Reset". There should not be any charge for this, it is covered as part of the cartridge warranty. You will need to have access to your computer and printer while on the line with HP. You will also need to have a set of cartridges for the new region, once the reset is complete cartridges from the original region will no longer work. HP's web page on the subject is here.

Needed() and changed() region function

Hello,
I'm studying the basicBoxBlur code that comes as sample in
PBToolkit. As I'm a beginner in code writing, I have some troubles
understanding properly the use of needed() and changed() region
function: are they supposed to simplify the PB calculations, since
the filter runs even commenting those lines?
Could you gently provide some more info about their role
specifically in the basicBoxBlur code?
I'm sorry if this appears as dummy question, but the my
personal learning curve is quite steep... (my actual goal is to be
able to rewrite some sort of Gaussian Blur, Maximum, Minimum and
Median Photoshop filters, so this is only a initial step toward
them - I'll be fighting with sorting algorithms later on :)

Hi Davide,
I'm really glad you've asked this question. It's a very good
question. Region functions would be considered one of the more
confusing, topics with respect to Pixel Bender. Unfortunately, this
makes it difficult to explain in words, but we'll try anyway.
The region functions are the mechanism by which you indicate
to the product your running in (whether it's the toolkit,
Photoshop, or After Effects) how your filter affects the size of
the image. Currently, Flash does not support these functions in the
Pixel Bender source, but you do need to implement the same thing in
the supporting ActionScript code.
If you think about a blur or any other convolution type
filter, you end up sampling a certain window around the pixel in
order to get the output color. For instance, if you have a blur on
the X axis that's one pixel in radius, you end up sampling 3 pixels
for every output: one to the left, the pixel that's at the same
coordinate as the output pixel, and one to the right of that.
Simple. If you consider what happens at the edge of the image,
though, things get more complicated. If you processing the result
for the very left edge of the output image, say at coordinate
(0,0), you'll need to sample three pixels, (-1, 0), (0, 0), (1, 0).
You need to account for the negative values when sampling. There is
a similar problem on the other edge where you will be sampling at a
location greater than the output window on the right. This means
that to produce an output of size 512, you actually need an input
of size 514 (one extra pixel for the left, and one extra pixel for
the right). This is what the needed function is calculating. The
function answers the question: "For an output of size X, what size
input do I need?" In most cases this will be exactly the same as
the output, but in some examples, like BoxBlur, this is not the
case.
The same thing happens on the output as well. Consider the
one dimensional box blur with a radius of 1 again. In this case,
you provide it an input of size X. If we were interested in
displaying any pixels that had any color at all, we would get an
output of size X + 2. This is because the edge pixel contribute to
the coloring of pixels outside of the input dimensions. In other
words, we would get a non-black pixel at location (-1, 0) because
the pixel at (0, 0) would be within the radius. This is what gives
you a smearing of the image outside of its boundaries when you
apply a blur to it. This is what the changed function is
calculating. In other words, it asks the question: "If I give the
filter an input of size X, what sized output would it produce?"
Again, for most cases, this would be the same as the input
size. Filters that fall into this category are color corrections.
Additionally, for convolutions and blurs, the needed function would
be the same as the changed function. For warps and other
transformations, this is not the case. The best example of this is
scaling the image by two.
When you commented out the region functions, the output image
became smaller by the blur radius. This was probably not very
noticeable, but if you made the radius large, you would see the
difference. Additionally, you are probably asking why we need this
level of detail in the filter. In most simple examples, no one
would ever notice this since we often have a single input image and
execute a single filter on it. However, because these filters can
be used as a small part of the workflow for professional graphics
and effects applications, getting these details right is very
important for the filter to render the correct results in all
cases.
Since you asked specifically about the basicBoxBlur sample,
here's a breakdown. Note that the functions are exactly the same
code because it's a convolution.

This is getting the pixel aspect ratio. One thing I didn't
mention is the notion of the pixel aspect ratio and the need to
account for this when calculating the regions (this is the subject
of another post entirely).

ceil(blurRadius), singlePixel.y * ceil(blurRadius)));
The next line is increasing the requested region by the size
of the blur window radius (conceptually expand the single radius
out to a radius of size blurRadius). We take the ceiling of the
blur radius in case the radius is a non-integral value.
I hope that helps clear up any confusion. Please let me know

My itunes account is a russian one, but I'd like to buy a movie from another itunes store (Germany), what will be if I will change region for my itunes account? Will I loose all my purchases I've already done in russian itunes store?

You cannot buy from another country. You need a valid credit card issue in Germany and have a valid address.

Of course You can also add your iPhone telephone # as a trusted device.
This way when you insert your SIM card into any phone, Apple will automatically recognize your cell phone # as a
trusted device (may be handy if iphone breaks but you insert SIM card into another phone).
HOWEVER:
Having also your iPhone as a trusted device, is convenient if you travel and use a different SIM card
at destination. This way you can still use the iphone for verification, even though you are using a different
phone #.

i need to change region on itunes and i got a message that i have rented yet to expire. i need to know what was rented and how to move forward in the region changing

I have the same problem. I moved back to Finland after 3 years in the US. Now I am trying to change the region settings on my iTunes and I get the message saying that I am not able to change the region because I have rentals that have not yet expired. As a matter in fact they have expired already several days ago. They do not even show on the iTunes when I connect my iPad (iOS 5.1.1)

I really need help to change region for app store

I have browsed through this forum followed everything instructed, i still cant change the region for my apple ID. I have tried below for several times.
- I have tried going to settings / itunes & appstore.
- I clicked on apple ID account.
- I clicked on view apple ID
- entered my password
- clicked on country/region
- selected my country
- entered the payment details (card detail used same as country selected)
- entered the the address (card billing address)
- put in phone number
- clicked 'next'
- it goes to the "itunes & app store" page on settings
- tried downloading an app it says "Your account is mot valid for use in Malaysian store. You must switch to the U.S store before purchasing"
Did the above steps seeral times. It goes back to the US region. Please help!

It makes no sense to me that her ID works in the iTunes Store but it will not work on the App Store. The same ID should work on both stores - as long as she bought the apps with the ID that she uses in iTunes.
See what account is showing on the iPad in Settings>Store>Apple ID. If it is the wrong ID in there, tap - sign out and then sign in with the correct account.

Desperately need a regionalise reset for printer purchased in middle east

Hi,
I have a HP Photosmart C6283 All-in-One printer that i purchased 2 years back when I was in the middle east. We have now moved to the UK and I find I cannot get the same cartridges here (No. 177). After checking on this forum, I was told that I would have to get a regionalisation reset for my printer to reset it to this region.
I have called HP Customer Support and Technical support many many times. I'm either told that they do not support Photosmart printers at the number i have called or I get a recorded message to check on their website. Alternatively,if I need to speak to a person, I'll have to purchase a care pack starting from 15.99, which is outrageous. I've checked online, and it tells me that my product is not available in this region and I should search in the region where I have purchased it. That is my WHOLE problem !!!
Can somebody please help ? Will I have to pay somebody just to use my own printer ?

Need a Graphic Object for printing

Hi,
I generate a report with data from a database.
At the moment I have an object that implements printable.
Everytime the print method is called the report has
to be created new.
Now I want a seperate Graphics2D object in which teh report
is created for once. And when a print
job is started I want to copy it to the Graphics object
in the printmethod.
How can I create a Graphics2D Object for my own ?

ITunes crashes when changing properties for Printer in Windows XP

I know this has similarly been posted already, but since the post I read had been ARCHIVED, I could not respond to it. (In my experience) Its not the fact that the properties button was pressed on the Print window of iTunes, but that an option in the properties dialog was pressed. Several options ARE available. I have a Dell Photo Printer 720 installed. The software included has several options for printing. The main page has 3 tabs: Quality/Copies, Paper Setup, Print Layout. All of the options work on all of the tabs. The problem comes in when you use the drop down menus from the top of the properties window. (of wich there is a save properties dialog) The drop down windows are basically Wizards to better help you complete your task, by asking you what you want to do. If you can refrain from using thoes drop downs, whatever changes you make to the rest of that window will be allowed. This is definutly something for the design team to look into, even if (for me that is) I can still alter printer properties, from what i understand most people can't access the properties at ALL! Side note, I also have an older HP DeskJet 722c installed on another computer with no problems accesing the properties window. Im sure it has something to do with the fancy drop down windows in the Dell version, as they STAY open until you click the close button.

Is there a way to upgrade my Photosmart 2710 all-in-one to e-print or air print from my iPad 2?

I just purchased an iPad 2 running iOS 5.2 and want to find a way to print to my Photosmart 2710. Any Chance? I guess I could transfer documents to my PC via iTunes and then print, but its an obvious hassle.

Change Font for Printing

I have message fonts set large (14pt) for screen viewing, which is too large for printing. Is there a way to specify a font to use for screen viewing and another to use for printing? I don't see any way to do this in either Mail Preferences or in the extremely-limited options available in settings when in the Print dialog.
Given the separation-of-function philosophy evident in OS X, I would expect this to be controlled in printer settings for mail. If it is there, it's hiding.

I've never seen font size settings in any print dialogue, this is something you need to set in the app you are using.
Print dialogues normally let you set a % reduction for anything you are printing in a Scale menu. If you do not see that, hit the triangle button to the right of the printer name to expand the choices.

Logon image needs to change automatically for corresponding month

ok, then you have to change login module, try using scheduler servlet, which will create time interval. Also you have to copy all images in one folder location in server, but check with image name because it might affect.

Photosmart C4580 All-In-One - Error Message: Print Cartridge(s) missing or not detected

I have recently encountered a problem with my printer.
I went to print a document and the following error message was displayed on the printer "Print Cartridge(s) missing or not detected", and the document would not print.
I am unsure as to why this message was displayed as I had not changed anything to do with the printer.
The cartridges that were in the printer had been in the printer since October so I thought that it could be due to the cartridges needing to be replaced, therefore, I changed the black ink cartridge. Once the cartridge had been replaced the error message disappeared and the document printed.
However, I went to print another document shortly after and the error message reappeared and the document would not print.
Due to the fact that changing the black cartridge cleared the error message, I replaced the colour cartridge, however, this did not cure the error message this time.
I have followed all of the advice on the HP support pages about cleaning the contacts etc, however, it has not worked. I have also contacted the support team by Email, but have had no reply.
Does anyone know how to cure the problem, or if in fact it can be cured. I am a university student and desperately need the use of my printer, so any help would be appreciated.

Yes it did get resolved in the end.
It seems that the fault came from using remanufactured or re-filled cartridges.
I had to replace both of the cartridges so that they were genuine HP cartridges.
Originally I only replaced the one that was causing the problem, but in the end I had to replace both of them. This then resolved the problem immediately.

If not, I would advise contacting the HP support team as when they finally replied to my email they were very helpful and quick to reply to queries and offer advice and suggestions.

Print and even print preview comes out unreadable. Do i need to change any internal print options. My printer works with the old firefox and windows internet explorer for the SAME document. I only have a problem printing while in firefox 4.0.

My printouts from web pages using the previous firefox and internet explorer products work.

There's a bug in 4.0b12, which is fixed in 4.0RC.
Open '''Help > About Firefox''' and it should check for and install the update. If it doesn't, use the '''Check for Update''' button in that "About" dialog.

Changing images for print version

Is there a way to change an image for a print version?
My background is dark blue and my image is white, however if
I print this nothing will show because its white on white.
I want to use a different image that is dark blue for the
print version so that you can see it.
