How do I print from my iPad2 on the 6510 printer

There will be color ink used during printing to keep the nozzles clear.  Color ink is also used for graphics unless you have selected "black ink only".  If you print with photo media color ink will be used exclusively, the black ink is not compatible with photo paper.  Color and black inks are also used if you ever tell the printer to perform a cleaning cycle (seldom needed).
The document here has information on how ink is used, the Photosmart 6510 is an IIC printer in the terminology of that page.

    The HP 364 XL Black ink cartridge been updated in September 2010.
    Take a look in the following document:

    If your ink cartridge is the older ink cartridge you shoulf contact the retailer to replace it.

    You are correct, gksurgeon, the 5510 does not have a removable printhead. If you followed the steps in the document above, then the printer will need to be replaced.
    If you are still in warranty, HP may replace the printer at no cost to you. I'll link the information to get in touch with them below. The link will take you to a form to fill out. Once you fill it out and it is processed, it will give you the printers warranty information, a case number, and the phone number to call.

  • Black ink not printing on my hp photosmart 6510 printer

    I have a HPphotosmart 6510 printer that all of a sudden doesn't print in black ink anmore. I have done everything that I read to do. Even replaced black ink a couple times. I don't want to replace my printer its not that old and I reall like it.

    I'm sorry to hear you've had issues printing black with your Photosmart 6510 printer, but I will absolutely do my best to lend a helping hand
    I will suggest that you try the steps within this Printer Does Not Print Black Ink or Color Ink, or Prints Blank Pages document first. If that doesn't resolve the issue can you please let me know whether it's in or out of warranty and what country you reside in? Thanks!

  • Photosmart 6510 Printer error/Blue screen on printer display Code:B864F472

    Hello
    I'm having a reoccurring problem with my HP Photosmart 6510 all-in-one. The printer will stay on for about five minutes, give or take, and proceed to flash a blue screen (on printer display) with error code B864F472
    Next the screen displays a "Printer Error" message followed by "Please turn printer off and then on" with all lights on the printer flashing.
    It will display this until I cycle the power and it repeats the same behavior after about five minutes.
    I've searched extensively for a solution and have tried multiple things. Such as:
    -Unplugging from back of printer and wall, 30 sec wait then plug back in.
    -Clean cartridge and print header contacts.
    -Set static IP.
    -Printed various reports from service mode, No errors, Excellent signal strength.
    -Connected to laptop through USB.
    -Partial reset, Semi-Full reset.
    -Reinstalled drivers on all computers.
    -Updated firmware/software on printer itself.
    -Ran HP Print and Scan Doctor.
    -Reset Router
    I'm at a loss now. The unit is just over a year old. I have two laptops and a desktop on the same network. Two computers running Windows 8.1 64-bit and the other Windows 7 64-bit.
    Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • Hp photosmart 6510 printing and photocopying blank pages even after putting in new ink cardridges

    Hi there, can anyone help?
    My photosmart 6510 has recently started printing and photocopying blank pages.  The ink cardridges were low and I have replaced them with new ones. I have cleaned the printer head and the test comes out in colour.
    I have no idea what to do other than buy a new one !
    Any advice appreciated.

    I'd like to help. Please begin with the steps in the following document; Printer Prints a Blank Page or Does Not Print Black or Color Ink for the HP Deskjet Ink Advantage an...  < this applies to the 6510, and 6515 too.
    If you complete, or have already completed all of the steps in the document above and the issue continues, my own personal recommendation, not one of HPs, is to use the solution offered in the following video.  I only suggest doing this if the printer is out of warranty; How to fix a HP Printer, not printing black ink and missing colours

    this printer does not have a wired LAN card. Well you have to use wireless or USB.

    With windows 7, I can print when using Word but if I want to print emails or from the internet I can only do so on my ophotosmart 6510 by first saving to the desktop. The save option is available but there is no response from the print option which is in light grey. These are the only 2 options on offer

    I see that when you try to print from the Internet or Email, you are only able to save. I would like you to try running the HP Print and Scan Doctor. This should clear up the issues, let me know the results.

    I see that you have tried cleaning printhead and the issue still exists.
    You may Power Off the printer for 20 minutes and then power it ON and then try printing. 
    If the issue still persists, then call HP Tech Support  for further assistance.
    If you are in US , the toll free # is 1-800-474-6836 .
    If you are not in US , then log on to www.hp.com , at bottom-left corner there is a world map icon, click on it and then select the region you belong to, which would then provide support options for you for that region.

    There is no statement to click on "Convert a USB connected printer to wireless" setting.  Therefore I cannot switch the connection to wireless without this setting.

  • Photosmart 6510 not printing photo in colour

    I have a Mac OS X 10.8.4 and I am new to it.  I have a photosmart 6510 wireless printer, and I am trying to print off a colour photo.  Each time I print, the printer goes through the motions of printing and it sounds as though, it is printing - quite slowly, which is the norm for photo's.  However, when the machine has finished, the photo paper is completely blank, can any one tell me what I am doing wrong?   have checked my ink levels and each cartridge is almost half full.  Thanks for any help you can give me

    I am having the same problem... I have a Mac OS X 10.7.5 and a photosmart 6510 printer, and I am trying to print a color photo on 4x6 photo paper -- I have done this before with no problem from various applications.  But now, each time I print, the printer goes through the motions of printing and it sounds as though it is printing, but when it's finished, the photo paper has come out completely blank. The ink levels  are each over half full.  I would really appreciate an answer - I have used all manner of troubleshooting using the standard HP Photosmart printing guidelines and nothing has worked.

    I understand your Photosmart 6510 is not printing or copying correctly. I will do my best to assist you! Just to clarify, are you unable to print or copy black or color ink?
    Make sure you have followed this entire HP document on Fixing Ink Streaks, Faded Prints, and Other Common Print Quality Problems. Please make sure this printer is plugged into a direct wall, not a surge protector. I just want to see if this makes a difference. I will be looking forward to hearing from you. Have a great night!
