Photosmart 6510e cannot print a "screen shot" onto plain A4 paper ?

hi all, my lap top has broken down, using an iPad2 i can print with airprint perfectly ok onto a4 paper. i select a file from my iPads photo stream, it is obviously a photo, but it is a screen shot and i want it printed onto a4 plain paper, my 6510 insists on me putting a photo sized glossy paper in, so it wont print anything on a4 plain paper ! perhaps i should add the printer is brand new and i have just taken it out of the box later i have tried to print the same picture using eprint, same result, why cant i print a picture onto A4 size paper ? Hi TIMMYTOAD,
AirPrint does not have any formatting capability and ePrint is very limited. I would download and install the HP ePrint Home & Biz app from the App Store. It will allow you to select paper size, image size, paper type and paper source.

After checking out the printer specifications for your Photosmart c309a model, the size of card stock you are trying to print on is not supported.

Not correctly printing cropped screen shots in Word documents

I have a C4480 All-in-one that works fine except for one really annoying thing. I create documents using Microsoft Word that use PC screen shots inserted into the document. I paste the screen shot into the document then use the Word cropping tool to crop the view of the screen shot.
Looking at the print preview of the document, everything looks great - but when I print it, the cropping of the screen shot has changed!
Anyone have any ideas on what's happening?

The distortion was slightly visible in the JPG images in the
WYSIWYG but the SnagIt images looked fine. Both types were present
in the Word doc prior to importing and have always printed out fine
in Word. The images were not added after the import.
I know the original screen capture is fine. When I captured
the same screen in RoboScreenCapture, inserted it into my Word
document before importing - it printed out without any distortion.
SnagIt saves as a .png whereas the RH version saved it as a .gif. I
did resolve the JPG issue by saving those as GIFs. That's why I
thought maybe RH has a problem converting from one format to the
other.

Printing imported screen shots

I imported some Word documents into RH 7 which included some
general .jpg images and a screen shot taken in Snag It. When
printed output was created (doc & pdf formats), both the images
and the screen capture were a little distorted and did not print
out as clearly as in the original Word document. When I used the RH
Screen Capture utility to capture the images and the screen shot,
there was no distortion when printed. Is there a setting that can
be configured to prevent this distortion or idoes RH not play nice
when converting other file types?

I am running Yosemite 10.10.1 and I cannot find my screen shots. They used to save to my desktop.

Please could you tell me where my screen shots are stored. when i use cmd+ctrl+shift+3 i hear the capture sound, but cannot find the picture. where is it stored?

The default location is your Desktop. If they're not going there, you can choose any other location by running this command in the Terminal and restarting.
defaults write com.apple.screencapture location <path to the new location>
E.g., if you want them put into a subfolder named ScrnShts inside your user's Documents folder, the path (w/o brackets) would be:
/Users/"username"/Documents/ScrnShts
You have to substitute username for the actual username, w/o quotes, If the user's name was wootts, then the command would be:
defaults write com.apple.screencapture location /Users/wootts/Documents/ScrnShts

Printing GUI (screen shot) programatically

Hi,
I have a GUI with some maps and graphs and time lines, that I would like the user to be able to Print. How can I go about doing this? They are running this application in the Windows environment, but what I was hoping was merely to add a "Print..." option to the "File" menu and have the standard print dialog pop up that could give them a screen shot. Any insight as to how to go about this?

Photosmart C6180 cannot print black

Hi
I have tried to clean the printer head and do the different adjustments but nothing helps. Haved tried with two different black colors but nothing helps.
I saw the other thread about removing the printer head and wash it but first of all I am not sure this is correct to do for this model and second.... I really cannot figure out how to do it :-) no easy way to get into the printerhead as far as I have been able to figure out.
So if anyone could help it would be great :-)

For the C7280 - have you checked the ink levels are ok? Have you run the clean print cartridge utility? More details in the link below; also check out the section titled Missing Colors

HP Photosmart B209a: Cannot print 4 x 6ins photographs

When I attempt to print photographs using the upper photograph paper tray, the tray draws back and forth as though the paper will be drawn in to print but then I am always given the message to reinsert and lower the paper tray. I cannot see any way to have the paper tray inserted other than it is. Other printing using the lower tray is performed as it should.

HP Photosmart 6510 cannot print in Parallels for Mac using Windows 7

I currently use the above model of printer with my Macbook (OSX Mountain Lion) and have no problems printing with the MAC.
The problem is when I am in virtual machine mode (Parallels Desktop 8) and trying to print from Windows 7.
Although it seems to be recognising the printer, it is telling me the printer is 'offline: 1 document waiting'.
The Parallels support pages say that printers should work automatically.
Can anyone help?

Sounds like a bit of a mixed setup here, where you are using a Macintosh with Windows loaded onto the system. My first question is on the profile you are working with have you loaded the appropriate drivers from the website for the Windows machine? Here is a link for that :

hold down command and shift together,keep holding 'em down, then press 3 or 4. check to see if your function keys are active. also, turn up your sound, you hear a 'click' or 'kachunk' like someone took a picture when it's successful, otherwise, try something called "Grab".....

HP Photosmart premium not printing correct colors or contrast on photo paper.

My HP Photosmart Premium does not print correct colors or contrast level on photographs using photo paper. This happens with using most any application and setting the paper type to one of the photo papers... By using MS PhotoAlbum and selecting the photo tray then forcing "regular paper", I can get a somewhat decent print (this trick only works with MS PhotoAlbum). When I setup to any of the "photo paper" types, I do not get correct colors or contrast levels (even if the print preview looks good).
I have the same issue with 8.5 x 11 inch photopaper. Unless I select "regular paper" as the paper type, I get incorrect color and contrast (even if the preview looks good). The ICC "Color Profiles" look to be OK (at least the titles are correct).
Anyone have any ideas?

Try the troubleshooting steps in this page. My bet would be the Photo cartridge (the black with the bow tie symbol) is out of ink. This is only used when photo paper is selected, for plain paper printing the regular black cartridge is used.

Hi,
If you are using AirPrint, the default setting is to use the photo tray for photos and the main tray for all other printing. AirPrint allows very little flexability in this respect.
In order to increase flexability around papaer and tray selection, you'll need to download the HPe-Print app from the app store and use this.
