Photosmart 7460 clips part of picture

When I print on a borderless 4x6, what appears on the screen is different than what is printed. The printed picture has about 1/8" or more cropped all around the picture. How can I fix this do I can print exactly what is on the screen?

The printer prints slightly oversized to ensure full borderless coverage of the paper. There amy be an option in the advanced section of some of the drivers to to adjust the overspray.
If you want an exact 4x6 image on the paper exactly cropped as in your application I would suggest three 4x6 on an 8.5x11 page and then trimming to size.

The clips are from a Canon 7D.
Some have a picture and the most not.
In the 32 bit version I did not have that problem.
Now I installd a new Compurer with 64bit and it does not work.
What can I do?

Loss of text and part of pictures when burned on DVD

I have made a documentation and transferred it to DVD. When watching the DVDs I find that the pictures are cropped. Most of the time it does not matter, it matters however, when part of the text or important parts of pictures are missing. And this is very annoying as I have spent a lot of time in creating this documentation.
When watching the project on the computer or via AppleTV everything is fine.
Is there a way of finding out or calculating how much will be lost prior to burning the DVD or while making the project in iMovie?
An answer and hopefully a solution to this is much appreciated.

This let me assume that all was OK in iMovie.      YES
So You do a 16x9 project
• What version of iMovie do You use ?        iMovie '11 9.0.4 (1634)
• Did You set up iDVD as a 16x9 project    YES
• the 16x9 size has to be set at two places in iDVD    Have done that
first when starting a brand new project
then under Project/Project info [Shift+cmd+I] - here too set 16x9
So if You can describe from what Camera was used (Video Codec) to the final DVD - step by step - we can see where the work flow differs.
Camera: LUMIX TZ7
Download material to iPhoto and/or iMovie - rework the pics in iPhoto but also in Adobe photoshop. It is usually the pics I have reworked in Adobe photoshop that are cut.
Then I start a new project in iMovie and add the pics and videos. When I have pics which I do not want to be cropped or with Ken Burns effect I use the setting "fit the frame" (mine is in German and says "anpassen").
I do not share to iDVD, but finalize the project in iMovie, which - after many hours - provides all sizes.
Then I open a new project in iDVD in 16:9 and insert the rendered film which is then available in medium, large, 720p and 1080p. I chose the 1080p.
Then I make an Image Copy and burn the DVD.

Split clip of a picture in picture

Question,
When using picture and picture or a cutaway, I would like to split the top part into sections. Using the split clip command on it splits the lower main video, but not the one on top.
I am attempting to edit video from 2 cameras of the same event into one movie. I also would like to keep the sync intact through the entire thing and not have to resync each camera change by hand. I know Final Cut Express and pro can do this sort of thing, but everything costs money...
There is a neat trick with a cutaway or picture in picture- you can open the clip editor and adjust the opacity from 0% (invisible so you see what is underneath) to 100% (so you see only the top video). So the idea is to use the cutaway to paste the camera 2 ontop of camera 1, sync them once, then split the top video and delete sections or it (or reduce it opacity to 0%), thereby showing the video underneath...
any ideas?

Provide the full path to the picture file. Or if you're going to use a relative path, make sure it's relative to your current working directory.
I don't know what you mean by a "local" file or by "my workspace".

Printer only prints part of picture on paper

I have a HP Photosmart C4780 printer. I've tried printing pictures on it, but only part of the picture gets printed. I'm using 4 X 6 paper, and that what I have selected on the computer. Any ideas?

I understand that you are having a problem printing a 4 x 6 photo. I will try my best to help you with this issue.
I recommend Resetting the Printer as this may resolve the issue.
In the HP Photosmart C4700 series user guide on page 22 are the steps for printing photo's. Follow the steps in the print settings for printing 4 x 6 photo's.

Photosmart 475 cuts top of picture off when printing

I have a Photosmart 475 and have not used it very much until now. Whenever I choose a picture(s) to print, on the screen they look fine but when they print the top of the picture is cut off. This has resulted with many heads cut off in the photos. I have it set to borderless printing and am using HP Premium photo paper size 4 x 6; one picture per sheet. I am not zooming in on the picture either. Also, I load the paper as shown in the diagram in the book. Does anybody have any suggestions as to why? Thank you.

I have seen this happen with Avery labels. Are your Margins off when you print from other programs?

You have to do in 2 steps:
Save the scanned image/picture to your computer,
Use a photo editing software to cut or crop the image/picture.
There are a lot of photo editors around, many are free, some are online .....or even Paint (in Windows) can do this for you. This is one of many free software:

After Update ATV Displays Only Part of Picture

After the new update- 12/2/2010 when I try to sync photos over Home Sharing and show them as a slideshow it shows only some of the picture- the rest of the image is grey like in the old days when you would only get part of an image on a slow modem.

Yes- I've tried deleting the itunes cache in the folder, moving photos to a new folder, tried 2 different computers, and toasted the ATV and it still happens.
Inputing a static IP and your apple ID just to view photos is a huge pain. Am I the only one who feels herded when using Apple products?

Part of picture missing when printing

I have Quark Xpress, which I export into Adobe so it's easier to transport to the printer, etc.
Everything transfers fine and all the pictures show up entirely. When I print it, however, one picture has a "block" missing. It is only the one picture, all the other pictures on that page and the other 40 pages print perfectly.
Anyone have any ideas?
I tried re-exporting it from Quark, checking in Quark for any problems with the picture. The page prints fine in Quark -- Just when I try to print from Adobe, it removes a chunk. Please help!

Similar to Mikey's response… If the logo has a spot color in it and it overlaps any raster image (or vice versa), then the overlapping part will appear white if "Overprint Preview" is turned off in Acrobat. This is really a bug. One possible fix is to export the PDF as an PDF/X-4:2010 in the "Standard" drop down—this preserves all transparency layering without flattening.
This issue causes frequent headaches and confusion in my workplace, especially since a lot of people want/need to hold on to the PDF/X-1a standard, which flattens the artwork.

More green color in parts of picture - how ?

I need help with my picture, where there is a branch with green moss. I would like to give the green moss more green color without affecting the rest of the image.
Have tried with maskelayer and miscellaneous filters, but can't find the right solution.

There's a couple of ways of doing this, here's one approach:
0. Add a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer.
1. Select the finger button and then click on the moss. This will tell Hue/Saturation what colour you want to change. Drag the Saturation slider to the right (or just drag on the image using the finger), this will increase the saturation of the moss but also other parts of the image. Make sure you exaggerate the effect, so it will be easier for you to fine-tune it.
2. You can drag the dark grey bit around to fine tune what colours of the spectrum your are adjusting. You can also move the falloff sliders to the left and right of the grey bit and fine-tune how the adjustment fades. Play around with this till you are reasonably happy with the result.
3. You can now use the mask on the adjustment layer to fine tune exactly where the adjustment is applied. Left click the mask on the layer so it gets selected. Now use the Paintbrush and paint with black to remove the effect where you don't want it.
You might have to play around with this for a bit until you are happy with the result..

HP Photosmart C4599 - Only part of document scanned

When I scan a document, sometimes only part of the page has been scanned when the HP Digital Scanning software displays the result of the scan. Other times the document scans ok and we can't work out why sometimes it works and other times it doesn't. We make sure that the A4 document is always in the correct position on the printer. Any help appreciated!

Been battling with this for months since i purchased an HP 6520: works if driven from my laptop, but scans in peices if driven from the HP scanner itself. HP replaced the printer- same problem. Been ongoing and no solution forthcoming. HP finally advised turning of the "auto selection" option, but i had already done the scan settings on my laptop show "combine into a single document".
Eventually i was referred to on-line support for one-on-one intervention and was advised this is a new problem related to OSX10.8 (But seeing the problems being reported for some while this doesn't appear to be correct) and that I'm one of three customers reporting this problem.
The problem, they tell me, has been escalated and should be fixed in future software updates, but i wouldnt hold my breath...!

Problem with Adjustment Brush enhancing parts of picture it shouldn't

Working on some pictures I encountered the following problem today. I did my major adjustments to the picture (e.g. Exposure -0,95) and then wanted to add some minor touches with the Adjustment Brush. As soon as I placed one click with the brush tool anywhere in the picture the highlights of the whole picture becamer over exposed.
This first screenshot shows the picture after the first adjustments:
Now you can see that I added an Adjustment Brush (Size:11, Feather: 25, Flow: 50, Density: 100) far away from the face and still the highlights in face are blown out. Nothing else has been changed:
Does anyone have an idea what the problem is and how to avoid ACR doing this? It does not make a difference if the adjustment brush is set to a plus or minus value.

1. The behaviour is occuring no matter if viewed in 100%, 24% or any other magnification.
2. No, I haven't tried ACR 6.6. Judging from this thread the problem seems to exist for quite a few versions now.
3. The brush stroke seen on the screenshot was a "new" one. It was the first brush action done to the picture.
I tried reducing the size of the adjustment brush to 2 and place this tiny brush stroke in the outmost corner of the picture. Still the highlights went up. Opening the picture as a Smart Object before using the brush everything is fine in PS. Reopening the Smart Object in ACR and using the size 2 brush far away from the higlights causes the same unwanted beheaviour.
At first I thought it had something to do with having done some adjustment to the exposure before but testing showed that this phenomena happens even when nothing was done the picture prior to using the adjustment brush.

Photosmart 6520 printing small format pictures

I am having trouble printing 5x7 and 4x6 prints on my HP Photosmart 6520 printer. I can print full page but no other size works. What am I doing wrong?

Where do you put photo paper for smaller sizes ? The printer needs photo paper for smaller sizes to be loaded properly on the photo paper tray otherwise it won't know where to find the right format.

Starcam Clip II lost picture

This camera was working fin. but now I get no picture. I reinstalled all but that did not solve the problem.
Symptoms: Both blue lights are on but no picture is transmitted.
Software does not identify any problems.

1) The camera was working.
2) When I use the camera with an application I get
1) Black screen when I use it with Skype
2) White screen when I use it with the AMcapture
3) When the capture starts, both blue lights on the camera go on. The physical capture button (left blue) does not do anything.

Losing Part of Picture inserting into book

I'm using my new Panasonic Lumix that takes extra wide panoramic photos to create a book in iphoto. After dragging and dropping the photos into the book, I lose the extra width of the photos. What is the easiest way to solve this problem for over 1500 photos?

It should work on each photo - with four on a page you would have to do it four times
There may be some frames that do not support the fit to frame - I think I have seen that (I use almost exclusively 4:3 photos so do not "fit to frame" very often - try different layouts in the book and see which ones work and which ones do not
iPhoto '09 has different layouts and different themes but I suspect that you would find similar issues - Liz Castro has a great web page - http://www.lizcastro.com/iphotobookthemes/ - showing all of the iPhoto '09 layouts for each theme and in some cases note on things that are unusual - like frames that do not automatically switch from landscape to portrait (those may be he ones that do not support fit to frame)
