Photosmart 7520 General printer error 0x610000f6

i am attempting to print and turn on the printer...it goes through a warm up and then the cartridge holder slides back and forth, making mechanical noise slike it is mis aligned and then  it gives me a General Printer error 0x610000f6 , Refer to printer documentation, Touch OK to continue.  I have tried removing the cartridges (before this...when I opened the top, the cartridge holder would move to the center, that no longer happens and i have to do it manually). it goes through the same process after i push ok...it will nto print and will nto correct itself.  i have tried unplugging it and waiting 60 seconds as well.  Nothing is working.  there is no paper jam.

Welcome to the HP Community , I saw your post about your Photosmart 7520 making noises and how the carriage will no longer slide properly, and wanted to reach out. By your description it seems like there could be a carriage jam in the unit. Please try the steps from the guide I posted for you below to see if they can help resolve the jam. Hi,
Here is an all encompassing 0x error document that contains several of the documents for 0x depending on your error message along with it.  Look within the first 3 bullets in the document.
    0x error on front panel
I suspect it is the 3rd bulleted section

  • General printer error ox61011beb on HP Photosmart HP C309n

I have an HP PHotosmart C309n connected to a pc running Windows 7.  It's also used on a Windows XP system through a wireless network.
Error Message: General Printer Error - Ox61011beb - refer to printer documentation
No changes made to the system - just got through printing 3 pictures.  Opened the media tray to insert more paper and got this error message.
I tried the reset (via HP support) - tried uninstalling and reinstalling cartridges - still getting error

    Hi there,
I understand you're getting an error code on your Photosmart C309n printer. I'm sorry to hear this has been happening but I will certainly do my best to assist you!
I am assuming that you have a Photosmart C309n with the error of 0x61011beb as you did not change the title, so if you have a different printer or a different error please post back with that.
I would recommend that you follow this Carriage Jam document as that is what the error code you're receiving is indicating. If that doesn't resolve the issue, please also plug the printer directly to a wall outlet to ensure the printer is getting all the power it needs to function properly.
Hope this helps, have a great day!

I cannot print from my HP Photosmart Premium C410 printer.  I continually find the error message:  General Printer Error
0x6100004c and it says to refer to Printer Documentation.
THIS error message is NOT in my Printer Documentation.
I cannot figure out WHAT is wrong, WHY it won't print, and NO information regarding this error message.
This is a NEW printer -- what is wrong???

  • General Printer Error 0x61011bec

    Hi,
I suddenly got an error  yesterday on my printer as a fax was coming in. The first error message I got was 0x610000e, and then the error message changed to 0x61011bec and has been the same since yesterday afternoon. I've tried troubleshooting, and did the following:
    http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docLocale=en_US&docId=emr_na-c00489814
to no avail. I cannot try the next option to update firmware -- even if I hit ok on the control panel, the message automatically reappears and I cannot get into the setup options to check the firmware. I did download a patch onto my computer this morning; I don't think it did anything. I can't even try the option to remove the printhead and ink cartridges again  -- the printhead is now stuck all the way to the right so I can't get to it. Does anyone have any suggestions? I've tried going to this option:
    My printer uses ink cartridges 564, 655, 364, 178, 862, or 920.
Click here to resolve the '0x...' and 'Ink System Failure' error message for your cartridges
however, once I click on the link, none of the options include the Error message that I'm getting.
    My Mac OS is 10.9.5.
I  shut down the power from the power button and waited about a minute to start the printer back up, and have also taken the power cord out from the back. Neither of those have produced any results either.  My printer is connected to my computer via the wireless network.  I've checked for paper jams and haven't found any.
    Thanks in advance.

  • General printer error 61000f6 message

HP Office Jet 6500 Model E709a. Received "general printer error 61000f6" message which continued after I cleared paper jam. Printer will not operate.

    0070HMSS:
Thanks so much for the response back, however, I have one additional problem to accomplish the solution to my problem and reset the product:  I can't remove the ink cartridges because the cartridge mechanism wants to go left to right, but does not. It makes a double clicking noise and then nothing.  I've also went through the steps to move the ink cartridge mechanism, left to right, to check for any paper jammed/stuck, there wasn't any and manually the cartridge does move with ease. I made sure to follow all the steps outlined on the HP help site to accomplish that.  One additional point:  when I did move the ink cartridge mechanism to the left, I noticed on the right side of the slide bar the ink cartridge mechanism slides on, there is a lot of ink that appears to have leaked out.  Could the connections be gunked up to the degree that the printer software is compromised?  This is what the readout says:
General Printer Error (Not ink error)
    0x610000f6
    Refer to Printer Documentation
    Press OK to continue
When I press OK the readout is "Now printing", it wants to go through the motions (ink cartridge mechanism sounds like it wants to go left to right), but nothing happens but the double clicking sound.  Then the screen goes back to General Error message.  Should I try reseting the printer as outlined on the page you gave but without removing the cartridges?
    Again, thank you so much!!

  • General Printer Error 0x6101bef

So I'm trying to print on a CD which I've done dozens of times before.  I've got an HP Photosmart C309a.  When I stick the CD into the right printer slot in the carrier (yes, the correct side of the carrier) I get "General Printer Error 0x6101bef".  Does anyone know what this means? I've searched using Bing and Google and I've searched through the printer manual but no joy.
Note to HP and software developers everywhere: Numerical error messages suck.  Undocumented numerical error messages suck harder.

After rebooting the computer and power cycling the printer, the problem seems to have gone away for me.  There still doesn't seem to be information about what that particular error means.

  • GENERAL PRINTER ERROR 0X6100000E

Hi.  I am using an HP Photosmart Premium C309g-m wirelessly on 32-bit windows 7 home premium.  I am constantly getting the following error and am unable to print or anything.
    !General Printer Error
    0x6100000e
    Refer to Printer Documentation
    Touch OK to Continue
This error is on the printer lcd.  My computer also shows an error from HP Solution Center similar to this when trying to print.
I have searched and searched for an answer but can not find one here or on the internet.  I have troubleshooted by removing all printer cartridges and reinstalling.  I have "reset" the printer by unplugging it for several hours.  Nothing seems to work.  Only a minute or two after I try whatever troubleshooting method, the error re-appears.
    Any ideas at all?

Hi try this link if these steps fails the printer needs to be replaced

  • How to fix general printer error OX6100004a

I tried everthing I still come up with general printer error OX6100004a on printer hp photosmart premium 309a

First, try a printer reset - turn off, unplug power from the back of the printer, wait 30 seconds, plug in and turn on.
Next, try to re-seat the printheads.  Take out the ink tanks.  Using the gray lever on the right side of the carriage, re-seat the printhead assembly.  Re-assemble and test again.

  • Hp 6500 (all-in-one) "General Printing Error (Ox610000f6)" displayed after first use!

I unpacked my new hp 6500 All-in-One (wireless) today. I was receiving my first fax on the hp 6500 when it stopped printing midway and started to display "ERROR. General Printer Error (Ox610000f6). Refer to printer documentation." I have turned it off and unplugged it many times. It does not work at all. Error message has been displayed all day. This is ridiculous. If I can't resolve this tomorrow it's going back to the store and I'm getting another brand.
There is also NO reference for the error code. Weak.
Message Edited by marie14 on 07-12-2009 10:37 PM

The original poster just acquired their printer.  In this case, the solution was to simply replace it as it was still under warranty.
The error code indicates an internal detected logic fault.  These fall into two classes:  transient events and faults do to failed HW.  Transient events are often solved by simply power cycling the printer after disconnecting all I/O.  Permanent faults are typically not repairable by the user.
I understand your frustration.  If the printer is still under warranty, then simply ask H-P to replace it.
Other solutions are to reset the printer's NVRAM.  For those with an Officejet 6500, the reset method is to press and hold the * and 6 keys while plugging in power and then continue to hold for another 10 seconds.

  • Photosmart 7520 not printing

My Photosmart 7520 is printing blanks after just getting its ink changed and also printed its ink report right after perfectly fine. What is going on? I need help ASAP. I have a final due in two days!

    Hello @bambiklaire001,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I would like to assist you today with resolving the blank pages printing issue that you're experiencing on your HP Photosmart 7520 e-All-in-One Printer since replacing the ink cartridges. At this point this issue may be due to defective cartridges or a Printhead issue within your Photosmart printer. The Printhead is the mechanism that the cartridges fit into. It controls 'reading' the cartridges and putting ink on the page. If the Printhead is defective than the print system within your product is a defective and a replacement Printhead may be needed. With that being said, I am going to run you through some troubleshooting steps to see if we can get this printer functioning properly again for you. I am going to have you start troubleshooting by printing a Print Quality Report from your printer to verify if all cartridges are experiencing this printing issue or if the issue is being caused by one specific cartridge.
How to print a Quality Report:
Load plain white U.S. letter or A4 size paper in the input tray.
On the printer control panel, touch the Settings icon ().
Touch Tools, and then touch Print Quality Report. The printer prints the test page.
If this report prints perfectly: than the printing issue that you're experiencing is not being caused by your printer. Rather, it would appear that something on your computer is causing the blank pages to print. If you're using a Windows computer can I please have you click here to download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor Tool. This Tool will run on your computer and 'fix printing' issues for you. Should any driver, software, or connection conflicts be found than the HP Print and Scan Doctor Tool will attempt to resolve those conflicts for you.
If this report prints with quality issues, or missing colours/black: than the printing issue that you're experiencing is being caused by your printer. To resolve this issue can I please have you click here. Once the support document opens please run through Solution one, Solution three, and Solution six. This includes any sub-steps under the listed Solutions.
If your printer is failing to print one colour or black, please replace that cartridge. If the issue persists after replacing the cartridge than this it is most likely the Printhead causing the issue. If your printer is Out of Warranty you may want to check out the helpful post by @Bob_Headrick  Black Ink Not Working. The steps will walk you through manually soaking and cleaning the Printhead mechanism. Only run these steps if your printer is Out of Warranty as the troubleshooting steps will void your Printhead warranty.
Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. Best of luck!
