  • Photosmart 7520 Scan software access disappeared when Windows 10 was installed.

Under Win 8.1 I would click in the printer desktop icon to select the connect  7520 printer. Three optins would be displayed and I would selec the middle one for scanning.  Now that icon wants to setup the printer for WiFi  usage, install printer to a USB port or come back later - no scan options. What do I needed to do?

  • Photosmart 7520 scan to email problem. Unable to connect to web services

I have a Photosmart 7520 working perfectly and suddenly since a week ago when I try to scan to email problem I get the error Unable to connect to web services
I followed all the forum instructions. Removed power for over a minute from the router and printer and connected the router first.
I checked that the apps in the printer main screen work ok,
I followed the suggested steps below
    1. Obtain your printer's IP address
    a. This can be done by pressing the wireless icon on printer.
    2. Enter the printer's IP address in a browser.
    3. Select the network tab at the top of the page.
    4. On the left select networking.
    5. Select Network Address (IP)
    6. Select Manual DNS Server
    a. Manual Preferred DNS should read 8.8.8.8
    b. Alternate DNS Server should read. 8.8.4.4
    7. Select apply you might get a warning just select okay.
    And nothing works.
    Any help please??

  • HP Photosmart 7520 scan to email not working / working only once in a while

I have read through all of the answers that I can find as to how to fix the scan to email function on my printer.  The printer is only a couple of months old.  I am using a Mac.  I need this to work.  The problem is that while I always receive the emails, they don't always have the scan attached to them.  Sometimes, but not always.
When I scan one page, it works.  When I scan 10 pages, it works about half the time.  When I scan 25 pages, as I sometimes do, it doesnt' work.
HP, please fix this !  It worked just fine a couple of weeks ago!
    Machta

    Hi Machta,
Welcome to the HP Support forums.  I see that your scan to email feature of your Photosmart 7520 seems to be inconsistent when attaching the scanned documents to the email.
Please start by assigning a manual IP address and manual DNS servers to your printer.  If you are unsure how to do this please click here.  It will take you to another post I’ve done that has the steps with screen shots.  Don’t fret that the screen shots are for a Photosmart  7510 printer, the steps are the same.
If you have already set the manual IP address and manual DNS servers, then please call HP’s Cloud Services at 1-855-785-2777 if you live in the USA/Canada region. If you live outside the USA/Canada region please click here to find the Technical Support number for your country/region.

  • Photosmart 7520 Cartridge Problem

Hello.I am having trouble installing replacement cartridges for the Photosmart 7520.  I place them in, locking them in place as I should and keep getting the error "One or more cartridges appear to be missing or damaged".  They are HP cartriges so that is not the problem.  I have taken them out, cleaned the sensors as it says in my troubleshooting guide.  Sometimes when I close the access door it will tell me another cartridge is not working too.  Any help would be appreciated.ThanksTK

I despair of this problem.  My siimple HP3420 was a model of reliability. I bought the PhotoSmart 7520 in March 2013 and it has been a constant nightmare. I have wasted hours when I should be productive, removing and refitting cartridges, cleaning contacts, wiggling cartridges and surfing the 'net looking for a solution. If I breath near the cartridges they are prone to showing up as 'missing or damaged'. It makes no difference whether I use cripplingly expensive HP cartridges, HP refills or third party cartridges. There is clearly a MAJOR problem with this model and the manner in which it is constructed. Meanwhile my daughter's printer (which I won't name in deference to this being a HP forum) operates smoothly without any problems of this type. It also has a better design allowing straight through paper runs, which makes a big difference when she prints images on thick paper/card, while the HP invariably scuffs the leading edge. I doubt that I will ever buy a HP again after this. For what it is worth I usually get the printer to work again, but can never figure out what did the trick. As I write this magenta is not recognised, I have cleaned contacts, unpligged the cable, removed the print head cradle, and tried several genuine cartridges. On and Off the photo black comes up with the same message, and then it is okay again.  It could be any of them - this seems to be a problem across the machine, not specific to a single cartridge bay, which would suggest a local problem. Meanwhile the machine is totally useless as there is no workaround to allow me to carry on (say with black only printing. Simply dreadful. I greatly resent the time I have wasted over the last two years with this problem.

  • Photosmart 7520 Scanning Window To Small!

Why is there no Scan widow size option with the Photosmart 7520 series?
It's about 1/3 the size of my older C6100 series software.
You can not crop detail very easy with this?
Totally unacceptableand I hope i don't have to return it for this reason.

    Hello,
Well, the SW isn't broken it just changed. The customer is using two different generations of SW, one from '06 and one from '12. And, yes, the new version uses a smaller scanning window. The new SW will not get an update.
I'll share the feedback with the developement team. And, you could always have the customer try some 3rd party scan applications that may have a larger scanning window.
    Sorry I didn't have a better answer.
    Be well,

  • Photosmart 7520 print problem

Printer will either not print from my Mac computer at all or prints very slowly and only partial job.  Owned printer 1-1 1/2 years. First time problem.

    Hi fishbum,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums.  I see that you are having issues printing your Photosmart 7520 printer from your Mac.
Please follow the steps in the Print Jobs are Stuck in the Print Queue document. There is a section for each operating system.  Please click on your version of Mac to find the steps.  If that doesn’t help you would you please provide some further information:
How is the printer connected (USB cable or wireless)?
What version of Mac OS X are you using? Mac OS X: How Do I Find Which Mac OS X Version Is on My Computer?
Have you gotten any error messages? If yes, what did the error message say and where was it displayed (printer or computer)?

  • PhotoSmart 7520 software problem

I have loaded, unloaded and reloaded the All-in-one software for my PS 7520e and I continually get an error message that I need the original set up CD...unfortunately i have lost it and according to the website I shoul;d not need it.How can I reinstall the software to work properly?

Hi , Have you tried the HP Printer Install Wizard? What was the result? Did you download the Full Feature Software Drivers or are you using the Basic Drivers or the Windows Update to install the Printer? By what I see, it looks like it's trying to install the Windows Update to install the Driver, as apposed to the HP Software. If not, here's the download for the HP Photosmart 7520 e-All-in-One Printer Full Feature Software and Drivers. Please try the following: Unlock the Hidden Administrator Account and install the printer on this account.Go to your Start menu and under the 'search programs and files' box type CMD.CMD will populate as a search option above, just right click on it and 'run as administrator'.Once CMD (Command Prompt) opens, type net user administrator /active:yes and hit enter.Next, close CMD and restart your computer. When your computer comes on log into the new account that should show. It will be called Administrator and will not have a password on it.If your computer automatically logs into your account after restart than go to your start menu click the arrow beside 'shutdown' and choose 'switch user'. Now log into the Administrator account we just unlocked.Under the Administrator account, install the printer software.Test the printer. To turn off the Admin account start back at step 1 and type in net user administrator /active:no.Please let me know the results. Thank You.

  • Follow-up to HP Photosmart C6180 Scan Problem

I posted the below a few days ago and since then have spoken with a few people who have experienced the same difficulty. We came to the conclusion this problem began after a recent driver update from Apple (sorry we can't remember exactly which one-about a month or so ago we think). Again any comments/suggestions would be very helpful. Thanks!
Until recently I have been able to scan wirelessly to my iMac G5 using my HP Photosmart C6180 which is equipped with a wireless card. (wireless network being run on Belkin router) However, about 3 weeks ago, every time I try to scan I get an error message saving the scanner cannot be initialized. If I desire to scan, I must connect directly using USB cable and initiate scan from the HP. Any assistance/suggestions will be most welcomed.

I have been working on this for months and tripped over the solution today - it works on all models * OS's and is network related.
    Fix as follows:
    1. Open HP Device manager program
    2. Select maintain printer form info & settings drop down - this open printer utility
    3. Click open embedded web server
    4. Select Networking tab - from connections menu select wireless
    5. Click advanced button
    6. Go to bottom of page and check ALL "compatibility" check boxes
I just scanned a 50 page document and so did a friend with same problem with a new all-in-one and windows XP pro - same problem - same fix.

  • Photosmart C4795 Scanning Problem

When I try to scan with my C4795 I get an error message. I am sure the problem is with the all-in-one device. I have tried reinstalling the driver and still get the error. Before I return the all-in-one I want to make sure I am uninstalling the old driver properly. I have removed the USB & dragged the driver from the applications folder & then reattaching USB & install new driver. Is this the proper method? By the way, print & copy work fine.

    jamschwab,
    . . . I get an error message.
What is the text of the error message?
Before I return the all-in-one I want to make sure I am uninstalling the old driver properly.
If you installed HP software from the printer's CD, PrintDoc provides instructions for removing it in this thread:
    http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Mac-printing-and-scanning/Photosmart-C4795-quot-Dev ice-Not-Reachable-quot-When-Configuring/m-p/137425
As an aside, the HP Photosmart C4700 Series is listed in Mac OS X v10.6: Printer and scanner software for both Print and Scan:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3669
As the item in that article includes an asterisk, you might run Software Update and see if anything from the vendor has been updated.
    Imac Mac OS X (10.4.11)
Is your operating system listed correctly?

  • Color scanning problem with Photosmart 7520

I can not get my new Photosmart 7520 to scan in color.
The device scans to PDF, sending the file directly to my Mac computer but when I open the file the document is in b/w.
Everything else about the process works fine.
What should I do to capture color?
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Hi Magnusho,
Im suspecting that the default mode for the PDF is Grayscale/Black and White. To verify this, follow steps below:
    1. Double click /Applications/Hewlett-Packard/HP Utility
    2. Click "Scan to computer"
    3. Click "Edit Scan Task..." button
    4. Hp Scan wil launch and will open Preferences window
    5. Select "Document (PDF)" or shortcuts that contains PDF
    6. Click "Edit" button.
    7. Click "Show Details" button. Scan Presets will display.
    8.Check the Mode?
If the mode is in "Grayscale/Black and White" then thats the reason why the scan output is not color. If you want colored scan output, change the mode to Color. Then click "OK" button.
    Try scanning again.

  • Photosmart 7520 error. there is a problem with the printer. turn printer off then on.

I have a photosmart 7520 experiencing the following issues.
Problem #1:   Randomly all the lights start to blink off and on and the display reads the following :
Error . There is a problem with the printer. Turn printer off then on.
I cannot find any one action that triggers this to happen.
Problem #2:  When the printer is turned on and idle,  also at RANDOM times, the printer will "Ding" followed by the  wireless light blinking. Then what sounds like the cartridges being cleaned, then a sound like the feeder spinning or the print head running full track from side to side, then ending with a "Ding" and then returning to normal.
When this occurs, the wireless connection is disconnected then reconnected. Also this Disables the "Scan to computer" function to all the computers on the network and requires manually re-enabling all .
From what I can tell the printer is restarting itself.
It is plugged directly into the wall outlet, no surge protector.
Tech support has already run me through the clean the print head steps, escalated me up the chain, and ultimately replaced the printer with a brand new one.
THE NEW PRINTER IS DOING ALL THE SAME THINGS AS THE PREVIOUS ONE.
This printer is connected wirelessly to a Netgear N900 router. My computers all running Windows 7, all are on the same network and workgroup and all are running Mcafee Total Protection.
If anyone is or has experienced the same or similar problems, I could sure use some help.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    How did you fix this?
I replaced an HP printer recently for a new Photosmart 7520 after a complete ink container emptied into the printer.
The old printer sometimes had difficulties switching it on and the new printer has the same problem.
Also the wireless connection regulary drops and can only be reenabled by switching of the printer and switching it back on, only this sometimes takes more than ten minutes before a simple push on the power button is translated in a power on of the printer.
Since the previous printer also suffered from these "power" issues, I think the problems are power related, but I have to check this first before I can say anything more about this.
