HP Utility - Photosmart 7520 series > Scan to Computer > "Scan to Computer Cannot Be Enabled"

Hi @sarahxtemp,
Looks like we may need to try a different uninstall approach and see if this gives us the Scan to Computer option.
Move the files and/or folders to the trash, drag and drop
Macintosh HD/Applications//Hewlett-Packard folder
Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/ - delete all files and folders regarding HP/Hewlett Packard
In Macintosh HD/Library/Caches - delete all files and folders regarding HP/Hewlett Packard

In Macintosh HD/Library/Preferences - delete all files and folders regarding HP/Hewlett Packard
Move Macintosh HD/Library/Preferences/loginwindow.plist to the desktop. NOTE: Not removing the file loginwindow.plist during the manual uninstall could cause the uninstall to be unsuccessful.
In Macintosh HD/Library/Printer/hp - delete folder
In Macintosh HD/Library/StartupItems, drag the following folders to the trash, HP IO and HP Trap Monitor
In Macintosh HD/Users/USERNAME (this should have a symbol of a house next to it)/Library/Preferences, drag the following folders to the trash: *Any files beginning with com.apple.print, *Any files beginning with com.hp, *Any files beginning with Hewlett-Packard, *Any files beginning with HP or hp

George, you helped me solve the problem I had with my printer. After I download the software from your website, not from the CD, it took some time to download the software and when I tried to reach you, you were gone. Anyhow, I really appreciate your patience and help that solve the problem and I was able to connect wirelessly with my desktop and laptop.
    Thank you very much,

  • Photosmart 3210 All in One - can't scan

I have uninstalled and reinstalled my Photosmart 3210 All in One printer a few times in the last month and a half.  It hasn't solved not being able to scan.  I have to use Microsoft Paint to do that.  It keeps telling me the Digital Imaging monitor has been deleted or moved.  It also can't find HP Twain Scan.  I need help.  the process listed earlier did not work.  When I right clicked on HP Digital Imaging Monitor and Run as administrator, it said it was no longer in that location.

    Hi  ruthmarq,
I have done some research and I have located a document that deals with when Scanning Stops at the Preview Screen when the Printer is Connected to the Windows Computer with a US....  This document also has the link to the HP Print and Scan Doctor.
If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. If you are calling within North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, click here: click here.
    Thanks for your time.

  • Brother all in one unable to scan

I have a new Macbook Pro running 10.8.1 and a 3 year old Brother MFC 7840W. I can print wirelessly without problems, but I am now unable to scan (I was able to previously with my older Mac running 10.7 using Preview). The Mac recognizes the scanner and proceeds to scan the document, but the scanned image is not saved to the desktop (where I told it to save), or anywhere else.
I've tried using Preview, then Image Capture to scan, and tried downloading the most recent drivers from Brother's website, to no avail.
    Any thoughts?

Yes kieveb but have you tried using  the "Image Capture" application that came with your computer?
I have an Epson all-in-one but the "Image Capture" application does a better job on scanning.
Make sure your AIO is turned on, then fire up the "Image Capture" application. It should be able to "see" your scanner.
Also make sure that you have set Image Capture to save your scanned images to somewhere where you can see them (I use the Desktop)
    Then take it from there.

  • HP Photosmart C3180 All-In-One will not scan

I did a clean install of Snow Leopard on my iMac. At the end, it prompted me to download updated drivers for my printer/scanner/copier. I clicked "OK" and let it run.
I can print without any problems. But the machine will no longer scan. My computer doesn't recognize there being any scanner installed, either. I have tried running other updates, including the HP drivers/software update released on Apple's site on Sept 21.
I have also tried running the drivers installation from HP's site for Snow Leopard.
Apple's and HP's support both say that the drivers are all built in to Snow Leopard, and to use Image Capture or Preview instead of the HP programs to do a scan.
In short, nothing's solving my problem.
Has anyone found any solutions to get your machine to scan again?

I think I found a solution, or a workaround at best.
I used OmniDisk Sweeper to remove ALL printer drivers/software from my machine. I then ran Software Update in OS X 10.6.1. It downloaded and installed the drivers for Snow Leopard.
I can now scan in Image Capture, and saves the file as a JPEG. I still cannot scan via Adobe Acrobat Pro without it crashing Acrobat. I suppose I can bring files in as JPGs into Photoshop and save them out as PDFs until HP comes up with a real set of drivers and software suite that restores functionality to what it was before Snow Leopard came along.
Hope this helps other people struggling with HP and Snow Leopard for the time being.

  • HP Photosmart 7525 all-in-one, using Mac desktop OSX 10.9.2

My printer will not respond to desktop or otehr commands to print. This is a new problem. The "wireless summary" on the printer says " IP Address: not conected", and SSID: N/A, Wireless Direct: On.
The computer identifies the printer as 192.168.2.12.
The printer referred to 192.168.2.72 or something equally distant.
When I ask the printer to find a wireless router, it identifies mine as it should. I have no idea what the password is or if i ever established one.
This thing was printing several days ago, before I transitionied my ISP from TWC to att.net.
Thsi looks like a ton of frustration for me.
    please help.

    Hi helped,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I read your post and since changing the ISP from TWC to AT&,T the printer isn't connecting to the new network.
I will be happy to help you.
Don't worry, this won't be too painful.
On the printer restore the network defaults.
Go to setup, wireless menu, restore network defaults, select yes.
Now we need to find out what encryption you have on your new network. Please write these down.
To check the encryption type, go to the Apple/system preferences/network/click the advanced button/
    double click the network name.
    (shows WEP or WPA)
To check the network password follow these steps:
On the Apple menu bar, click Go, select applications, utilities, keychain access, double click the network name,
check the box to show the password, type in your Mac password to view it.
Now on the printer you can run the wireless setup.
Go to setup, wireless menu, wireless setup wizard.
Put in your encryption type and password when prompted if you have one.
To add the printer on the Mac, click on the Apple.
Click system preferences, click on printers and scanners, click the + sign at the bottom and select Add Printers and Scanners.
Select the printer from the list, beside Use: click the drop down and select your printer and click add.
    Test the printer.
    Hope this helps.

  • Photosmart 2610 all-in-one Scan preview does not display

Recovering from a hard-disk crash, I've just reinstalled my Photosmart 2610 all-in-one using the driver and software package for Windows XP : rub_W01_Americas_Euro1_NB.exe. downloaded from the HP support site. All seems to be running well, except for a glitch when I try to scan: the document Preview does not display.  I have made certain that the Preview checkbox is duly selected, but nothing seems to help. It is the same whether I'm scanning a picture or a document. It also makes no difference whether I launch the scan from HP Director or from within another application.
Note that if I click Accept, the document (or picture) will indeed be scanned and saved. But I won't see it until I open it with some other application.
    Thoughts, anybody?
    Thanks!
    James

  • HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-one problem printing. Ink System Failure has failed unable to copy--

I'm having a problem printing on my HP Photosmart C7280 All-In-One. The following message is what came up on the printer screen: Ink System Failure has failed unable to copy, receive faxes or print. Refer to printer documentation Error O.cl9a0007.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

Hey Spider! First off welcome to the forum.
I would recommend removing all the ink cartridges, unplugging the USB cable from the computer that connects to the printer, and then shutting the printer off completely by removing the power cord. Then restart your computer. Turn the printer back on but leave it disconnected from the computer. After it has finished its power on cycle go ahead and insert the ink cartridges back into the printer and be sure to seat them properly.
After you have all the cartridges back in the printer properly then connect it to the computer. See if this resolves the issue. If not post back with any findings.
    Thanks,
    SeanS

  • I am unable to print. HP Photosmart 3210xi All in One

I am unable to print on my HP Photosmart 3210xi All in One.  I installed some of HP's downloads this morning, and now I can't print.

    Hi ronalds173,
I see that you are having some login issues with the Photosmart 7520 and have been locked out as result. I believe I know the area you are trying to access, but to make sure, are you taking the I.P address that is assigned to the printer and entering that into the address bar in your web browser?
If so, this login would not be the SSID & password for your router, unless you made it that. This password can be reset by restoring the network defaults on the printer.
To do that, touch Wrench icon in right upper corner and then Wireless Menu. Touch Restore Network Defaults and then confirm. Once restored, you will need to run the Wireless Setup Wizard on the printer.
Try accessing the page again. Let me know if this resolved your issue.
    Cheers,

  • How do I get my HP Photosmart C6280 All-In-One to scan?

I have updated to Mac OS 10.9 the driver for my HP Photosmart C6280 All-In-One, but the scanner function no longer works.  The Apple update list shows the update was performed on October 30.
The printer does not show up in the list of printers as a "Bonjour"  printer, as the instructions from HP's website indicate it should.

    Hi there,
I understand you're having issues printing/scanning with your Photosmart C6280 since upgrading the 10.9 on your Mac. I would like to help you with this as best I can.
The reason your having issues is because the HP software you're using is not designed for the 10.9 operating system. The last full software package HP released for the Photosmart C6280 was for 10.6, so the best option at this point would be to use the in operating system drivers.
To get everything to work properly again, I'm going to link you to how to completely remove the HP software so you can use the Apple software as Sunshyn2005 has described in her post. Once you follow those steps to begin using the Apple software you may not know how to scan using the Apple software and you can learn 3 different ways to do so.
I hope this helps, have a great weekend!
