Photosmart C309g-m, contrast & brightness on printed images

How does one adjust brightness and contrast on printed images?
(Std. settings produce very dark images.)
(I have, in other situations, been disatisfied with gamma adjustment compared to "canned" brightness and contrast control.)
Thanks,
Jim

I have a wireless HP photosmart C309g installed and worked great for 2 years.  Now all of a sudden there is a printer error, with no details.  I have tried everything..reinstalling the  driver, running diagnotics, etx.  Nothing has recently changed with my computer (toshiba laptop), and all the test pages from the printer work.  It is not jammed.  there is some sort of connectivity problem I think but I am not sure how to  correct it.  I have Windows 7 32-bit.  I would appreciate any help out there....Thanks so much!

    noellery,
Try downloading and running the print and scan doctor located here:
    http://goo.gl/Ujpib
It can fix a lot on its own and if not give a better idea of what is going on.

  • Photosmart C309g printer. how do i install it on a second computer. i have a belkin wireless router

my printer has stopped working from a second computer.
it is a photosmart C309g and i have a belkin wireless router. the main computer is XP and the second one is Windows 7.
it use to work before. i have forgotten how i set it up in the first place.

    Hi dan-fran,
Just need to download the driver from the link below, and then when you get to the connectivity screen of the installer select network/wireless. If the printer is already on your network the software will find the printer, and you can complete the installation of the software and driver.

  • Trouble setting up my out of warranty all in one hp photosmart c309g-m printer

    Hi,
I have an hp laptop with windows 7 and an hp photosmart premium c309g-m all in one printer that I have had for over 4 years.  It is now out of warranty and so I cannot get help with getting it to scan and print wirelessly (which it has never really done without giving me trouble) and so i tried to uninstall and reinstall the drivers and I keep getting a network diagnostic report that I have to verift that certain TCP and UDP ports are unblocked from PC to printer.  I don't know how to do this and will not pay $25 for someone to figure out something since I have already paid for the printer, shouldn't a good company provide free trouble-shooting and assistance??

    Hello,
Please try the below mentioned steps..
The Wireless Setup Wizard, which you run from the printer's control panel.
Make sure you know your network name and your security password (WEP or WPA).
On the printer's control panel, press the Setup button and then select the Network menu. The Wireless Setup Wizard displays a list of wireless networks in the area.
Note: The Setup button may appear as a wrench icon. There are differences between product models.
Select your wireless network's name from the list.
If you don't see your wireless network listed, you can enter your network name manually by scrolling to the bottom of the list. If you enter the name manually it must be exact, including upper and lower case characters.
Enter your WEP key or WPA passphrase. You must enter the key or passphrase exactly, including upper and lower case characters. Your printer should connect to your wireless network. If it does not connect, you are given the opportunity to print a Wireless Network Test report that will help you find out what may be wrong.

Is the first page blank of just missing entirely?
What program are you printing from?  Does the same thing happen if you print from Notepad or Wordpad?  (If not then check the settings in your program to make sure you are sepcifying then entire page range desired for printing).

  • Brightness/Contrast of an indexed image

    Hi all,
Is it possible to change the Brightness/Contrast of an indexed image?
I've tried that with the following code:
// Brighten the image by 30%
    float scaleFactor = 1.3f;
    RescaleOp op = new RescaleOp(scaleFactor, 0, null);

  • Can't connect my HP Photosmart c309g-m printer to my Linksys WRT54GC router. "No filtering = FAIL"

I'm having trouble connecting my HP Photosmart c309g-m to my Linksys WRT54GC router.  The diagnostics report states "No filtering = FAIL" in all my attempts.
First I had set up the wireless security of the router with a WPA2 Personal passphrase.
Because that didn't work, I downgraded my security to WPA, since the diagnostics report suggests that that's what it's actually using for encryption. This didn't work either.
I double and triple checked the MAC address of the printer in my Wireless MAC filter settings. It was correct. However, it still didn't connect.
Grudgingly, I turned MAC filtering off. However, the printer still wouldn't connect.
Now I'm out of options. Any possible ideas for this problem?
    This question was solved.

    Here are a few ideas:
    1. Make sure the SSID is being broadcast.
    2. Make sure that DHCP is active.
    3. Do not use MAC filtering (it is not a good security measure, anyway).
    4. Change the router channel to 11.

  • I have an hp photosmart c7280 all-in-one series printer won't print. error message, system problem

I have an HP Photosmart All-in-One C7280 series printer/fax/copier/scanner. I have been having issues with printing for the past few weeks. It is a wireless printer, with a jack into the wall (for fax) and it is plugged into a power source. I never used to have issues with it before, but recently, it won't print when I send a document to it to print. It will print its configuration pages, reports, etc if I select them from the Printer's menu but not when I send a doc to it to print. First it was saying it was offline, but I figured out how to override that by operating as an administrator and selecting "Use Printer Online" from the dropdown menu when I right clicked on the printer from the control panel. But now it says "Error: Printer failed to print document. System error".
Noooo clue what to do now. This is the only color printer we have so we kind of need it to work. We bought this printer off the shelf at a office store (before I started working here) and so we don't have any designated technichians to work on it. I asked the guy who services our Image Runner Copier to look at it but he had no clue what was wrong with it. Hopefully someone can help?

  • Hp Photosmart 1215 color cartridge will not print.

    I have a photosmart 1215.
The color quit printing so I purchased a new print cartridge
    hp c6578d
and that cartridge would not print.
I performed all the cleaning procedures as set forth on this site.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Did you remove the protective tape from the cartridge?
Is there any trace of color on the printed page?  If not try gently blotting the nozzles on a damp tissue.  Does this leave a strong stripe of cyan, magenta and yellow on the tissue?  If not then you have a defective cartridge.  If there are no stripes of color on the tissue then the cartridge is defective.  If there are stripes of color on the tissue but no color prints on the test page or cleaning pages then the printer will likely require service.

  • Print image shifted?

I own an HP Photosmart A524 photo printer. Before you tell me that HP has no info on this printer on their website, let me explain that I bought it as a kit (called HP Photosmart Compact Photo Studio) with a camera (HP Photosmart M447) from WalMart. HP has no info on this printer on their website that I could find, but there are similar models like the A525.
The problem I am having is that when I print via USB, the image is shifted. Printing via uploading a pic to the SD card and using the onboard card reader prints perfectly fine, but uploading the image, putting the card in the printer, and finding each image (which is buried deep among other pictures from my camera) is a hassle. When I print from the picture, instead of printing correctly the image is shifted to the left ~1cm and down ~1cm (diagonally, sometimes it's the opposite if I print from Picasa instead of Windows Photo Viewer) and never correctly; a "half" margin is always present, half because it is always on 2 sides. I downloaded the Windows 7 fix on HP's website for the A525, which didn't correct the problem, and I also tried installing the full installation avalible for Vista for that printer. The full installation was incompatible, and when I ran it compatible with Vista SP1 and with elevated admin rights, it said I needed to run as admin, even though I already was.
Does anyone have any ideas? I really want to get this fixed, especially since I have this printer networked and want to be able to print photos from another computer without walking upstairs, getting the SD card, transfering photos, etc. The SD card method works, but. . . you know, it shouldn't be doing this.
    Thanks,
    Ryan

    @Marshall-
I tried your solution by switching from the Photo Printing-Borderless setting to Photo Printing-with white borders. A suprising changed occured; though the image was  a very little bit distorted, sort of rotated, the print image was not shifted. This boosted my previous theory that distortion happened after the image was sent to que and before the printer recieved it, indicating a driver issue. That's where I think the issue is.
    Thanks,
    Ryan

  • Strange behavior printing  image

I'm printing an jpg of a piece of sculpture, and if I look at the image in Photoshop all of the highlights are completely blown out. However, when I place the image into InDesign, the highlights have detail, and the image becomes much too dark overall (actually it matches the jpg's icon view in the Finder). And when I print the file, the image has the same dark tones as the InDesign preview (doesn't matter whether I use typical or high quality display).
But if I go into Photoshop and adjust the curves just slightly, the InDesign screen and printed image look just like the original blown-out Photoshop view.
There aren't any adjustment layers in the image.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you
    (InDesign 7.0.2, os x 10.6.7)
    Chris

Yeah, that might be important. Do you still have the original unadulterated version of that file? Does Bridge say it has an embedded profile?
    Chris Vogel25 wrote:
I checked the separation preview, and for the orginal super-contrast jpg, I'm seeing values in the 30% range for all process colors.
That's a sort of medium gray color. Are you looking at the highlights, midtones, or what? The numbers you see in the panel are reflective of the pixel under the cursor position.
It still seems strange to see the huge shift between the original jpg and InDesign preview, no matter was the interpolation, downsampling, profile mismatch was.
If you are dealing with an image that was captured in a wide-gamut space such as ProPhoto and that has no emebedded profile, there's a pretty good chance that the color would darken if ID or shift quite a bit when you bring it into an ID doc whose working space is something more normal like Adobe RGB or sRGB. Even an embedded profile would probably see a shift if the colormanagement policy is set to do anything other than preserve the embedded profile on mismatch. Do you see a big color shift when switching from regular view to overprint preview (which happens when you turn on separations)? A lot of the colors you can capture in wide-gamut color spaces fall outside the gamuts of printing devices.

  • Adjusting contrast on grayscale pdf image

On Photoshop 6.0 I was able to adjust the contrast of a grayscale pdf image by going to image-adjustments-brightness/contrast,increasing the contrast, hitting ok. I could then save the image file. I just obtained Photoshop CS3 and things do not work that way. I do not see any change when I increase the contrast. However, I see an increase in contrast when I lower the brightness, but when I click ok, the contrast goes back to where it was.
How do I increase the contrast and save the image?

I'm sure I've asked this before, but why don't you use code tags?

  • HP Photosmart c309g-m carriage does not move to centre when lid lifted

    Hi,
I'm trying to change the cartridges on my HP Photosmart c309g-m. However, when I lift the lid, the carriage does not centre; it just stays on the right hand side, beneath the plastic cover, making it impossible to change the cartridges. Sorry that you are having a problem with your carriage not moving.
Try to unplug the power cord from the back and manually move the carriage.
Look the right right side of the carriage and see if a piece of paper or something is holding it hostage.

  • Printed image is half black and half red on A4 paper

I printed an image using Windows's default printer program.
The black photo ink cartridge is very low and the text one is around half.
I printed the image onto  A4 paper in landscape. The image takes up most of the page.
The last half to be printed looks red.

The printer will use a combination of all of the ink cartridges to print, to best answer your question. I posted a link below for you to check out as well, which is all about how ink is used.
