Photosmart C4795 Wireless. Won't communicate with Mac Computer unless its through Ethernet cable

Hello,
I recently just purchased a new router (MediaLink) and had to change the name of my wifi account. Before, my printer was communicating and working perfectly with my Macbook Pro (10.6.8). Since I installed the new router, my printer is not being recognized by the computer. It states it is "not connected."
My first step:
I used HP Setup Assistant to reinstall my printer and configure it to the new wifi name.
It went through and connected to the internet, HOWEVER, when I got to the IP page, with the printer connected via USB, it said that "Device is not connected" and mentioned that my COMPUTER was not communicating with the wifi (even though I had full bars and was on the internet at the time).
Then I unplugged the printer and plugged in the ETHERNET Cable directly from the router and the printer was immediately recognized. I was in the other room and printing. But when I unplugged the ethernet cable, the printer disapeared! and went back to its original state! "Not connected/found"
My second step:
I proceeded to search MANY online forums AND call HP (they were no help since my warrenty is out) and did a few different steps:
Uninstalled and reinstalled HP setup and software
Downloaded softwere compatable with Mac Os 10.6.8
Unplugged printer, computer, and router and then replugged it in
Reset printer
Reset printer to factory settings
Reset printing system on my computer via system preferences
Tried manually adding printer via IP address
Adding printer normally from system pref. (the printer was not found UNLESS I was plugged into the Ethernet cable)
AND I HAVE HAD NO LUCK AT ALL!!! Before the new router, the printer has been fine! and was so easy!! What is happening and what can I do to fix it? Im considering purchasing a new printer Im so frustrated.

You don't need a new printer, you need a new router - one that supports Bonjour, which your Mac needs to communicate with your printer.
Is this router supplied by your ISP?  Did you contact them about it?  If you bought the router yourself, I recommend returning it and getting a standard router like Netgear or Linksys.

    I have a Photosmart Plus B209a, and I run 4 different laptops with a wireless connection They run Windows Vista, and Windows 7, and I can not print either. The Wireless hub was recently changed, but prior to that I could not print.  I get an error message when trying to reinstall the printer software from Windows that states that the USB device is not recognized AND SHOULD BE REPLACED .I bought a brand new USB cord for the printer from HP, and it still doesn't work. I was on the phone with HP for an hour and a half and they had control of my laptop and the issue is still not resolved, she said it must be my laptops problem and then transferred me to an online pay for help service that was a minimum charge of $65. All I know is I have had problems with this happening from the start, it seems every time there is a software upgrade, I have to reconnect to the printer, and now WINDOWS is not even recognizing the device...I will be interested in any answers you receive.   • Photosmart 8050 won't communicate with my computer

    My Photosmart 8050 printer has stopped communicating with my Dell computer. I have run the HP Print Diagnositc Utility scan and just get an alert that there is a connectivity issue. I have tried three different USB cables and determined that the cable isn't the issue. Also, I have gone through most of the utility steps and had no success. I am fairly certain that the printer connection is the issue but not sure what to do from here. Any thoughts or recommendations? 
    I istalled the printer software on a Mac I have and the Mac doesn't recognize the Photosmart printer either.

  • Uploaded photos but ipod now won't communicate with any computer

    Well I’m stumped and so are the pros that have given back my ipod and said good luck getting the data extracted. So maybe someone out in cyber space can figure this one out.
    Have recently come back from a month trip in Africa and have been using my ipod (30gig Video) to upload my photos to the ipod as storage. I successfully imported 24 rolls totalling up 14gig of RAW(CR2), Jpgs and mpgs from my Canon 20D and Canon Ixus 50. I imported them using the apple camera connector and still to this day can upload with no difficulty. The problem is, when I came back home my computer won’t recognise the ipod I’ve tried 5 other macs and they too don’t initialize with the ipod. The ipod will sit there with ‘do not disconnect’ yet no communication is happening.
    The repair agents that I took it to have said that it has basically lost its identity and doesn’t know whether it’s a mac or PC ipod. Strange considering it was working working with my mac the day I left and wasn’t connected to anything apart from my two cameras while away.
    I’m really keen to know if this has happened to anyone else and how on earth I can get the very important data off before it is replaced by apple under warranty. The repair agents said after doing a scan disk that they could retrieve a few jpgs at a large cost which I said no to as I want the RAW files more.
    I would love to hear from anyone out there that could provide any answers to my questions.

    Canon 20D (Raw Only)
    Canon Ixus 50 (jpgs & mpgs)
    Apple camera connector
    G5 mac
    Mac G4   Mac OS X (10.3.9)  

    Not to rain on your parade, but the rice thing generally takes around a week to dry an iPod out. To be sure I would turn it off do not attempt to charge. Seal the iPod in a bag of rice, for a week, (yes 7 days), remember to change the rice every day or so, then turn it on and see if all works. And like Ralph Landry 1 stated you may have already damaged it, but hopes this helps, good luck.

  • HP Laserjet Pro P1102W will only communicate with 1 computer wirelessly

    I am using Windows Pro 64 bit on 2 laptops. I have been able to configure the printer to work wirelessly on one of the laptops, but the 2nd laptop does not communicate with the printer. The 2nd laptop can see the printer, but not communicate with it (it does work when the USB cable is connected to the 2nd laptop). I have tried starting all over a couple times already, and re-installed drivers, etc... Is there something with this printer that will only allow it to communicate with one computer? BTW: both computers are newer DELL laptops, one is running with an i5 processor and the other with an i7 processor. These computers are almost identical.
    I need to print to it from both computers wirelessly; why is there an issue with just one of the computers being able to communicate with the printer?

    I see you are able to print wirelessly from one computer, but not from the other. Please use the Print and Scan Doctor on the second computer. Click here to download and run the Print and Scan Doctor>www.hp.com/go/tools
    If that does not resolve the issue, post back and let me know if there are any symbols other than green check marks and what they are next to of course. The wrench is not always easy to spot as the wrench and the check mart are in the green circle. 
    If you see only green check marks ( ), the tool did not find any problems.
    If you see green wrenches ( ), the utility identified an issue and corrected it automatically.
    If you see yellow exclamation points ( ), the test failed and required user action, but the step was skipped.
    If you see a red X ( ), follow the on-screen instructions to resolve the issue.

  • IPad Mini Won't Sync With Mac Mini (ios 8.1 OSX 10.6.8)

    Problem : IPad Mini connects to iTunes OK, can be seen in iTunes and I can select which movies to sync to it etc.  When I hit the "apply" button after making a change (ie deleting or adding a movie) the sync lasts just a second then the "sync" button remains greyed out, and I can't make them sync.
    IPad Mini ios 8.1 Mac Mini OSX 10.6.8 (latest available version for my mac mini)

    help, my wireless keyboard won't pair with my computer.  the green light blinks and it won't sync during the pairing process.

    Did it pair earlier??
    I just lost my Wireless kbd Bluetooth connection twice recently. And found the following solution:
    1. Delete the kbd from Bluetooth system prefs.
    2. Shut down the kbd
    3. In system prefs, keyboard choose "Configure Bluetooth keyboard..." at the bottom
    4. Press the power button on the kbd until the green LED blinks, kbd gets detected
    5. Switch OFF the kbd
    6. Click "Continue"
    7. Power on the kbd as described in 4.
    8. Kbd gets paired, enter the digit code and Enter
    9. Go to system prefs, Bluetooth and add the kbd as a favorite
    That did it for me. Hope it works for you, too.

    PLEASE HELP. My HP DESKJET 2060 All-In-One printer won't communicate with my HP Pavilion Touchsmart 14-b132tx. I've been printing before smoothly and it just suddenly stopped a week ago. I already bought a new printer cord and even the new one won't allow my printer to communicate with my laptop.
    I am using Windows 8-64 bit. I've already downloaded the latest HP Print and Scan Doctor and even uninstalled and re-installed the HP Deskject Ink Advantage driver but my printer still doesn't work with or communicate with my laptop.
    Please help me anyone? Out there?

  • WRT54G - Changed user name and password; now printer won't communicate with computer

    Time Warner used remote access to get into my wrt54g system and create a new user id/password for security.  As a result, my hp printer will no longer communicate with my computer.  HP says to hook up a usb from router to printer, but there's no usb port on the wrt model I own.  Don't know whether to buy a new router or if there is a solution to this problem.  I hooked up a usb from computer to printer but it did nada...

    so meaning to say you are unable to print even if the printer is connected to the computer. If that's the case even if your printer is connected wirelessly to the network then you will still not be able to print. Make sure that the printer will be able to print first when connected to your computer.

    Contacts are designed to be synced to a supported application on the computer or a cloud service.
    Pictures taken with the device are designed to regularly be copied off the device to a computer as would be done with any digital camera.
    If you have failed to use the device as designed it may be too late to recovery anything.
    Is the device regularly backed up to a computer via iTunes?  If so, the most recent backup (when restored to a replacement iOS device) should contain all contacts and pictures as of when the backup was created.

    You should not have paid twice. If you logged into the App Store with the same AppleID as you used to purchase Mountain Lion the first time, you should not have been charged again.
    If you internet connection is not working well enough to download it, do you have access to another network that might be faster? Perhaps and Apple Store nearby?

    Open the iPad and go into settings, general and reset all settings and content.   This will wipe everything off the iPad.
    Then you can set up the iPad as a new device.
