Photosmart c6380 and windows 7

I am trying to install my HP Photosmart c6380 onto my compaq presario cq60-215dx laptop wirelessly and it has been giving me problems after problems.  First time installed it worked perfectly then we moved and it has never worked since.  I have tried uninstalling the program and reinstalling it.  However via disc or online it kept telling me that a driver was not available.  Finally it was uninstalled and I just now tried reinstalling it and it says "HP Installer Network UI Plug-In has stopped working" when I try to install it over the network.  My husband and I just received this printer not even 2 months ago, and have only used it a couple of times before we moved.  And now we can't even use it.  Please let me know what I need to do to install it on my laptop wirelessly and his (he has the same laptop as I with Windows 7)  I went into the control panel and unenabled internet explorer because I read somewhere that that might be the problem, it did not have the option to uninstall the program so I went and turned it off.  Any help would be awesome, thanks!

the problem here is your using windows 7..
there is no available driver for the windows 7 OS.. it may have work for the first time but windows 7 will update once in a while...
that why you were not able to use it properly..
the best thing you can do is use the generic driver for all hp printer which is Deskjet 990c..
Just wait until windows 7 drivers are available for download..

After this scanner/printer has loaded down the Driver - Product Installation Service the next step of downloading software is interrupted by the notice/instruction "The system cannot find the file specified" identified as

Now try reinstalling the HP Software and check if the installation goes as expected.

    2. Open the run dialog by clicking both the Windows key and the R key on your keyboard. Type %windir% and click on OK.
    3. Type hpoins*.dat into the top search bar, if there are any results rename the extention into old instead of dat. (e.g. hpoins1.old)

I got a new desktop with Windows 8.1 and have been unsuccessfully installing the HP Photosmart C6300/6324 All-in-One Printer series Full Feature Software and Driver  from HP Support website.  The problem encoiuntered was that after downloading and extracting the  file "PS AIO 04 C6300 Net Full Win WW 140 408.exe",  it stopped and there was no following pop-up window with instructions for the installation. Would you please show me how to get the installation going. I have been trying downloading and extracting many times. and the same issue happened. Please help. Thanks.

Hello TYH and thank you for using the HP Forums!
I understand the software download extracts all the way and completely disappears. I can provide a document for you regarding this issue.

  • D5160 will not print directly on DVD's or CD's with HP Photosmart Essential and Windows 7

I have just upgraded from a PC with XP utilizing HP Photosmart Premier software and the HD Photosmart D5160 to print on Printable CD's and DVD's.......to a Windows 7 Operating System which utilizes HP Photosmart Essential for its photo editing and printing.  With Windows XP and Photosmart Premier I could print on DVD's, with my HP Photosmart D5160 just fine.  Now that I have upgraded my PC and have Windows 7, I'm being told that I can't use Premier and as a result can't print on CD's and DVD's.  Is there a software fix that I can use or a certain software program that I can use with "7" so that I can once again print on these discs? I've downloaded the drivers (again) for the D5160 and tried everything that I can. HELP

What is the HP Photosmart printer model?

  • Issue with HP Photosmart 5520 and Windows XP laptop

    Hi there,
    Was hoping for some help.
I have a HP Photosmart 5520 which is setup correctly on my wireless network has been working for some time.
There are a few laptops on the network that can print to it fine, including my Asus, which is running Windows 7.
At this moment in time, my housemates laptop, a HP running Windows XP is unable to connect to the printer. It was working fine however after a virus and malware scan discovered heaps of malicious software, which was removed, the laptop was unable to print. It still had the printer as listed but it seems the actual print job wasn't being sent to the printer.
As mentioned earlier, I am still able to print fine from this laptop.
From here I have removed the printer from the HP laptop, along with the software. This was so I could attempt to reinstall the printer on the laptop. Now, when I try to reintall the printer, upon selecting the Wireless option it doesn't appear to be able to find the printer. This printer is setup on a static IP, so I've typed in the IP and it still appears that the laptop just can not find the printer.
I have attempted everything but nothing seems to want to work. I know XP is a dead operating system but the house mate has no choice but to use it for now.
Is there any suggestions? I don't know if it's the printer or the laptop.
Look forward to any replies, and thank you in advance.
    Kindest Regards,
    Michael.

Welcome to the HP Forums Rectrix,
I see by your post that you are able to find the printer over the wireless network on the Windows XP computer.
I can help you with this issue today.
Install the printer as a USB connection on the Windows XP to get the software fully installed.
Then setup the wireless by going to start, all programs, HP, select the printer, select Printer Setup & Software Selection,
select Convert a USB connected printer to wireless. Follow the steps to finish setting up the wireless connection.
If there is anything else that I can help you with just let me know.
    Have a nice day.

  • Photosmart B209a and Windows Photo Viewer, a bad combination.

The Win7 Windows Photo Viewer has the ability to set the paper size, quality, and paper type.  It works with a photosmart D5160 but it doesn't work with the B209a.
With the B209a, It sets the paper size correctly but it doesn't set the print quality or type of paper correctly.  The print quality always is set to normal and the type of paper is always set to plain.  I can get to the HP printer properties by clicking on "options" and then "Printer properties".  I can seem to set it to best quality and HP Premiums paper on the HP printer properties window, but it's all a mirage.  If I return to the Photo Viewer window and once again go to HP printer properties, the settings revert to normal quality and plain paper.  The actual prints are normal quality with grainy stripes across the picture.
To print high quality photos, I need to use another program like Paint.
    Is there a solution?

that seems to have worked for me, but the inactive screen is still blackened, do you think the photo viewer doesn't fully support dual monitors? I also noticed the picture is the same display size as the primary monitor, as in whatever size is is during
a slideshow on the primary is the same when switched to the secondary.
I could juy st tap the window key to get the primary back, but then the unused portions of the secondary revert to the background...this seems like a strong candidate for a windows update that actually changes the way the OS works... can I has some cash
    now?
    hey, MS, WTF?
pictures viewer unable to work with few monitors?
i checked - by pressing "Window Key+Shift and tap either the left or right arrow"
it changes monitor, but other one hold black!

  • HP Photosmart C4780 and Windows 8.1 -64-bit - Problems installing driver, plus wireless assistance

    Hello
Apologies, I am technically challenged, so I hope I can explain myself. I have the above All-In-One Printer/ Scanner and now have a newish laptop with Windows 8.1 etc etc. I have incurred ongoing problems trying to scan documents to my laptop. I have managed to deduce that my printer driver has not installed. I have followed instructions from one of your help pages and downloaded whatever I needed to, however the driver is still not present.
I read a solution offered through the Forum back in June 2014 about doing some form of reset. What exactly does this entail and will this result in me losing all settings/ favourites etc on my laptop?
I am just trying the 'unplug the printer for 60 seconds thing' as also suggested to someone in May 2014. In the meantime if someone could get back to me anyway, I'd be grateful. I desperately need to rectify this problem, which I've been putting off for a couple of months as I need to scan alot of documents urgently.
PS - can someone also talk me through how to get the wireless facility up and running after all these years!
    Many thanks, Amanda

Hello @AmandaGreyUK , and welcome to the HP Forums!
I see you're running into driver issues.  I would like to help.
I would suggest Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Once it is uninstalled, I would suggest putting your system into clean boot mode within the Microsoft configuration.  You can do so by following this document: How to perform a clean boot in Windows.
Once the computer is in clean boot mode, I would suggest reinstalling the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows.
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

  • HP Photosmart C6380 not scanning or photo printing with Windows 8

Just purchased HP M6/1125DX/15j with Windows 8. My current HP printer is an HP Photosmart C6380 All In One.  The printer does work but the photo part and scanning icons no longer appear that were on my desktop before. I tried to download the whole program that said would update my printer but after 6 tries at an hour each, at the end it just said my download was cancelled. Is there any chance my printer will be supported by Windows 8 and how do I do that if I can't download.  Or am I stuck buying a new printer? Thanks

  • Photosmart C6380 not recognized on network by Windows 7

Photosmart C6380 worked great on Windows XP computer. It could be accessed through the network from several XP and VISTA computers. Installed a Windows 7 64 bit computer. It could not print to the networked printer on an XP computer. Installed the printer on the Windows 7 64bit computer and could print to it from the Windows 7 computer it was attached to. Could not print to it from the XP computers. Have downloaded latest HP drivers for Windows 7.  I have seen a number of people complaining about the same problem in Microsoft forums. They have not been able to solve the problem. I downloaded an HP network test program to the XP computer and it does not see the HP printer on the Windows 7 computer. XP OS does see the printer and adds it but it doesn't print.

There is a detailed solution to this problem found on How to Geek at the following link:

This covers both file sharing and print sharing.

I have a photosmart printer - model: all-in-one 5520; code number HPC57CC4  and my operating system is windows 8.1.
I had problems with the scan function and so I decided to disinstal the printer (from the Control Panel) and I even cancelled  the HP folders.
Then I tried to reinstal the printer with the original CD but I got the message: INSTALLATION ERROR - DRIVER PACKAGE INSTALL GIVES THE ERROR -536870329 FOR THE PACKAGE  C:\Program Files\HP\HP Photosmart 5520 series\DriverStore\Pipeline\hpvpl09.inf   (that's the translation from Italian)
I have tried endless times to install with the online software from the HP assistance (hppsdr.exe, hppiw.exe, ps5520_1315-1.exe, hpscan and doctor) but I always get the above error message, the system recognizes my printer, but gives the error message few seconds after starting installing it.
If i use the printer from other PCs it's ok, I've also tried both in the wireless modality and with the USB cable but the result is the same: no installation!

  • Competition problem between Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 on Photosmart C5180 connected via LAN

Hello everyone, I am writing because I need some advice / help on a problem last night while configuring a small network.
The network is made up as follows:
    2 notebook: Windows 8.1 and Windows 7
    3 different printers:
2 USB connected to the respective notebook,
1 HP Photosmart C5180 network printer connected via LAN via a router.
    The situation is the following:
both notebooks recognize the various printers and are able to send and print documents but,
when the print command starts from both notebook SIMULTANEOUSLY or at a distance of a few seconds, the only document printed is ALWAYS the one sent from the notebook with WINDOWS 8.1. The other one submitted by WINDOWS 7 IS LOST without being reported.
So if I ask of you is someone experienced in the print queues, print drivers, competition in the print jobs that can help me in solving this problem.
    Thanks in advance

    Hello cesco,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having a communication issue when attempting to print on two separate printers at the same time.
This will be a communication issue for sure.  The computer can only send to one printer at a time. You will have to print to one printer, wait for it to finnish the print job and then send it to the other printer.
There is no way that you can print from one computer to two separate printers at the same time.
    Thanks for your time.

  • Drivers for hp photosmart d5360 and laserjet 4000 in windows 7,needed

i need the drivers for  hp photosmart d5360 and laserjet 4000  in windows 7
i have install windows 7 ver 7260 and everything was working fine,,then i have updated to ver 7600
and now my computer does not want to install the drivers,,
any ideas why is not working?
    thanks

It does not matter how we got Windows 7 RTM (7600). But if you have to know to answer the questions about drivers, then MSDN Subscribers and Technet Subscribers can download Windows 7 RTM as of August 7. I also have Windows 7 RTM and I now cannot install the HP Laserjet 4000N printer. It used to work with Windows 7 RC but now not with RTM. My printer is located on a Windows Server 2008 based computer. It properly browses and I I can select it from the server list of printers. But it then tells me that I dont have a driver. Where can we get a driver? HP will have the Windows 7 RTM version as well for their driver support.
