Photosmart D7560 printers suddenly shooting blanks

I am flummoxed by this problem and flabbergasted by HP's suggestion: get new printers.  So I'm hoping someone here can help!
I have two Photosmart D7560 printers, each attached via USB to a Windows 7 Pro computer (2 different computers.)  They both have performed flawlessly until yesterday when, after spitting out a few complete and a few incomplete pages, the one printer just started to put out 2 blank sheets of paper for each print order of 1 copy.  I followed HP tech support's advice and ...
Disconnected it.
Took out the cartridges and print head and put them back in.
Downloaded the latest software and drivers.
Uninstalled the existing software.
Installed the new software.
Rebooted the computer.
The result: it's still shooting blanks.  So I pulled the file off the local network from the second computer and sent it to print on the other D7560.  It put out one or two partial pages in black only.  (In draft mode, it printed a complete but very blurry image.)  So I switched the printers on the two computers.  Both are now shooting two blanks per page.  It doesn't matter which computer sends the print command to which printer.  No matter how that goes, both printers fail to print.
Since both printers print beautiful self tests, they clearly are working, leading me to suspect something to do with the printing-whatevers associated with Windows 7.  HP no longer makes printers that print on DVDs and I am loathe to toss out my expensive stockpile of cartridges that fit both of these printers and a third I have in another office.
I should add that, unless I set the advanced properties of the printer to print directly to the printer (as opposed to the Windows spooler), the blank pages just roll out of the printer, with no "attempt" to print anything.  When I set the printer to print directly to it, the printer "acts like" it is printing (the print head is clearly moving back and forth) but the page is blank when it's finished.

  • Two HP Photosmart D7360 printers suddenly printing all green!

I have an HP Photosmart D7360. My husband has one too. We bought them at the same time about 2,5 years ago. Mine has worked fine until yesterday, when it started printing everything with a green tint. I did everything the HP website and forums suggested, cleaned the printhead, installed all brand new HP Vivera cartridges, and I'm using HP paper too (always have done that). Still printing green. To rule out a hardware problem, I removed the printer from my computer, uninstalled all the software, etc. then hooked up and installed my husband's printer. His is printing green on my computer too. Both printers print perfectly fine on his computer. Obviously, the problem isn't with the printers but with a setting or some such on my computer. I've tried everything, different printing applications, different settings, no solution. The only thing I haven't done is "calibrate color" - because I don't have that option! I click the HP solution center, then Printer toolbox, but it only gives me four options: to clean the printhead, to align the printer, to print a diagnostic page, and to print a test page. NO "calibrate color" anywhere on there... Please help, I'm at my wits' end! Thanks!

    pufiinc,
The cost in time and investment is lost.  The frustration is hard to get past in the short term because without a means to recoup the loss, you are stuck with the feeling that you have been betrayed plus you are behind on your work.  I don't know if this is in your venue; I read an article two weeks ago that swearing like a sailor about things out of our control actually makes us feel better.  You might consider a good cuss session - outside, away from the dogs and kids... and the neighbors.  Smiling... I am sympathetic.  I know the pain of printer and software betrayal.
Paper is controlled by lot number.  Check and see if all your paper is from the same lot.  Make a note of that lot number.  You never want to see that lot number on any paper you purchase in the future.
If you are curious (and not just "hands in the air" over this), it might be worth taking some of this suspect paper to a professional print center and asking that they allow you to test it in their printer.  Take a USB stick with some of your work so you can test what you are printing as well.  You need to test apples to apples on this.
Is your room temperature controlled?  Humidity controlled?  I do not doubt the paper is at fault; since it is OK at first and then "bad", it may be affected by the humidity in the room.  If the paper is picking up water vapor (or drying out) after being out of the package for a period of time - that would perhaps explain the issue.  Check for changes in the environment.  It is just possible this paper is telling you something - it's not being nice about it - but there may be a message in there somewhere.

  • The calendar on my iPhone 4s suddenly went blank and says NoEvents anywhere. What happened and how do I get the information back?

The calendar on my iPhone 42 suddenly went blank and says No Events. How do I get my data back?

I've been having the same problem every 3-4 months: the calendar app seems to hang up, I either reset the app/phone or wait it out, then presto! all internal calendar entries have been deleted. Unlike others in this thread and elsewhere, I am not using iCloud.
Interesting fact: while following the suggestion to hide all calendars, then show all calendars, I noticed that the internal calendar option is MISSING. It's like it just doesn't identify that there ever WAS an internal calendar. Really? Argh.
Apple Support: are you guys monitoring this? I've seen a few similar postings, so I don't think we're alone...
Granted, I have more than a few entries - years of calendar/appointment history have been imported from my old Palm Treo. Thanks to slow performance and odd calendar app crashes, I am very well aware that the iPhone's calendar isn't nearly up to the task of handling this many entries, and have been working to get the quantity of entries down. I must be up near some threshold, as response time seems to have improved with several deleted entries, though it was just before the crash+data loss.
Fortunately, I try to sync with my Outlook calendar nightly, so I do have a backup. However, this type of data loss and instability re VERY painful for those that actually USE and practically LIVE by their calendars. Here's hoping I can remember today's entry modifications...
One additional complaint: WHY can't I edit a recurring appointment WITHOUT it creating a NEW one? Crazy... For all the things this smartphone does well, it does several things VERY stupidly.

I'm afraid that you're not going to like what I'm about to write...
Your T40 has most likely become a victim of the infamous GPU failure that T4x/R5x with ATi graphics are infamous for, where the video card starts detaching itself from the motherboard as a result of  heating/cooling cycles and/or physical stress on the chassis.
Re-flowing/re-balling the solder in the GPU area or motherboard replecement are your only choices.
Good luck and let us know.
    Cheers,

  • Satellite P200-1JR: Display suddenly gets blank only reboot helps.

    Hi,
I have laptop Toshiba P200-1JR, and I'm satisfied by performances.
Unfortunately, I have experienced few problems for which I'm not sure if they are hardware (manufacture) or driver (software) problem.
    1. Display sometimes (maybe once a week) suddenly gets blank. Nothing special wasn't done previously, which shpuld be the trigger. Just at once. Only reboot helps.
    2. The same as 1, but previously dislplay just for few second gets crazy. Some side lines (like magnetic interrups) are on screen.
I've just downloaded bunch of driver updates (haven't applied them yet), but I want to ask before is this problem already known?
    Best Regards,
    Vladimir Stefanovic

I've applied most of the updates available on Toshiba site for this model, including BIOS update.
    But the problem persists!
The screen started blinking uncontroled for about 15 seconds, then it become completely blank.
Then I've pressed Power button [Sleep mode], and again the same button [Wake from sleep], and the machine continued working normaly.
I'm not sure but I think that previously (before BIOS update) I had to restart the machine in order to get it work again.
I'm interested if anyone here had similar problem?
(I ask this because I want to know should I return it to salesman or should I wait for some update)

  • Persistent Mail Crash / not a Shoot Blanks Problem...

    Hi Computer messiahs,
Since this morning, each time i open Mail.app it crashes. I went to different Forums and found some explanation and solution to my problem...
My problem seemed to be the same as described on Beoblog ... (I moved messages around to different folders (mailboxes) yesterday. Other similar characteristic: When I disconnect to internet it does not crash anymore...)
So I created a new rule using AppleScript "Shoot Blanks" that should help keep the problem from reoccurring.
I was happy having found this... Till Mail.app crashed 10 minutes later....
    ANY IDEA?? PLEASE!
    Polyvinyl Pierre

    Pierre,
I think the finding of the two account settings is very important, but you may have to remove the preferences more completely than can be done from within the Mail application.
Quit Mail. In the Finder, open Home/Library/Mail and make a Duplicate of the Mail folder, and drag this copy to the Desktop, strictly for temporary backup. Now open the original Mail folder to see whether it has one, or two account folders. Is there both a IMAP and POP folder present? If there is still a POP folder for this same address, delete it.
Next, open Home/Library/Preferences and find the com.apple.mail.plist file -- drag this file to the Desktop (likely to be deleted, later). Now start Mail again, and it should open as new, and you will need to re-enter your account set up information. DECLINE any prompt to import anything, and Mail should find all folders it needs in the existing Mail folder (that you have removed the POP folder from, if it was present).
Ask any questions needed to be comfortable with doing this.
    Ernie

Do a reset, hold down the home/power button together until you see the apple log and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.

Apart from the lock button problem in iphone 5 the display brightness suddenly goes blank and becomes normal after locking and unlocking the iphone. The Apple service centre in India is denying to service the iphone as it was purchase in USA even though the iphone is in warranty.

iPhones do not have an international warranty.  Warranty is valid only for the country of purchase.  This is most likely because different countries require different iPhone models.  Not reasonable to expect all countries to maintain stock for all models.

  • HP Photosmart D7560 set up failure - HP Setup Assistant - Mac OS 10.5.8

Ever since installing the Mac OS 10.5.8 combo update on my 2007 iMac 24", the HP Photosmart D7560 printer stopped working.
Downloading the latest driver software from HP ("HPInstaller_PSD7500v9.8.dmg") and running it seems to install software, but when HP Setup Assistant launches and tries to "set up" the printer with the new software, it first doesn't show the printer icon in the Select Device pane of the HP Setup Assistant window.
After checking the "My device is not listed" box, an icon for the printer appears. Then, after clicking the Continue button, the following message is displayed: "If your device is not listed, it is not supported by this installer. Please visit www.hp.com/support to download an installer, if one is available. If you do not have internet access, ..."
This printer worked fine with Mac OS 10.5.7.
    Can anyone suggest a solution?

  • Photosmart D7560 will not print envelopes - load paper into main tray

My photosmart d7560 will not print envelopes, after moving the envelope into position for printing, the message "load paper into main tray" is displayed.  It does print the envelope data correctly on a piece of 8.5x11 paper.  Setup is for a #10 envelope.  Envelopes are self sealing.  I have tried creasing the edge better but that didn't help.  I tried a non-self seal (which had a letterhead on it so I couldn't use it for this mailing) and it DID work.  Is there any way to make self seal envelopes work in this printer?

  • I have 2 printers - suddenly neither will print black ink

I have 2 printers - suddenly neither will print black ink - put in  new ink, cleaned the heads, this has happened before and then all of the sudden it starts printing black again - could this be a computer setting that is blocking black? I have checked for viruses and none come up,  I have plugged/unplugged both printers and no difference.   I believe it's a computer issue, not the printers as what would cause 2 different printers to stop printing black???  Can anyone help?
