Photosmart eStation C510a won't print anything

Hello I've owned a Photosmart eStation C510a for 3 years that is used in a computer running with Windows 8.1.   Everything was ok until a couple days ago, when I tried to print something. The printer had not enough ink and the page resulted was unreadable, so I replaced the black ink (That's the one I use the most) and tried again but the problem started: Nothing happended.  The printer stopped working and now I'm getting the following message: "New printhead Ink Alert. Used cardtriges might not complete the printhead start-up" I replaced the blue, yellow and magenta cardtriges and clicked "ok" with no results; the printer didn't show the "Now printing" message that was supposed to apper acordding with the videos I watched, only made some noises and froze everytime I try to print something. Printer maintenance tools don't work either. (No sounds, no actions in none of the options).  I tried a full reset but the message still appears when I turn on the printer. I don't know what else to do.  Any help provided would be appreciated.  Giss

Hi giss08,  Welcome to the HP Forums.  I see that you are having printing issues since installing new ink. Please click on the following link that deals with An 'Incompatible Cartridge(s)' or 'Incompatible Ink Cartridge(s)' Error Message Displays on the Computer or the All-in-One. If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest contacting HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. , : click here.  Thanks for your time.  Cheers,

  • Photosmart 7550 suddenly won't print anything but scanned images?

    Hi all,
I've had this printer for a while and have had zero problems with it, and I don't think there's one now. More likely a setting I can't find. I just scanned a bunch of stuff that printed up just fine, but text documents, (I use Open Office) and PDF docs will not. I've tested this out and haven't been able to discover what I've done wrong. I can print anything that I've scanned (scanned docs are displayed by Windows Photo Gallery), but no ODT (Open Office) or PDF (Adobe Acrobat). Won't print from e-mail, either. It was all working fine the last time I printed any ODT or PDF, but it has been a couple of months for those, though I was printing e-mails as recently as last week. Also, when I send the command to print, I see the status bar spooling the pages to print, but the printer never reacts. Then when I double click the printer icon in the toolbar, the printer status window that opens shows "printing", but then suddenly it says "deleting" and it disappears and there are no jobs pending.
I'm using Windows Vista 32-bit. Drivers are up-to-date.
    Can anyone help?

  • I Photosmart eStation C510a, the zeen will not sync with the printer,or connect to internet.

    Hi,
I require some asisstance with my Photosmart eStation C510a. The zeen will not sync with the printer, and I cannot seem to connect it with the internet. When I first installed this printer, it was fine, both the zeen and printer were connected and in sync.
An update was automatically installed by H.P. which appeared to create a problem with the zeen , being unable to sync with the printer, the zeen also lost the internet connection. The printer is working fine, and responds to the zeens commands for printing,
scanning and copying, but I would love to have the internet connection from the zeen, whereby I can use it for emailing etc.
Is there anyone out there that can help?
    Thanks,
    Christorobb.

  • HP C4180 Won't Print Anything

    Hello,
I've got a Photosmart C4180 that I use with my Toshiba laptop running Windows XP.  My wife was printing some invitations she is making when all of the sudden it just stopped printing anything.  She was only printing in black/white, but it won't print anything.  She tried replacing the black printer cartridge to no avail.  Now I can't get it to print the Test Report (it acts like it is, but there is nothing on the page).  When I clean the cartridges nothing prints.  When I align the cartridges nothing prints and I get a cartride alignment error, but I am assuming that is because it isn't printing anything and thus doesn't have anything to check the alignment of.
Can anyone help me with this?  I'm usually able to get it working, but not this time.  What happens to new print cartridges past their expiration date?  I'm not sure how "old" this new one is since my wife threw out the container it was in before I was called onto the scene.
    Thanks

    Hello eschwach,
It's been a few months, but I think the culprit wound up being the "new" print cartridge was too old and didn't work properly.  I think it was about a year past it's expiration date (never knew print cartridges had expiration dates).  Anyway I went out and bought a new one and it worked fine.
Have you tried any new cartridges?

  • The efax doesn't work in my HP Photosmart eStation. I can print via wifi and have internet

I just purchased a HP Photosmart eStation.  I can print fine from my computers and can see the internet via yahoo on the Zeen.  I have an efax account and in settings it states that my "account status is currently up to date".  However, when I type a fax number in (or any number) and press continue, I hear a sound indicating the button's been pressed and then nothing.  If i enter in additional digit, then the SW knows that I have entered in an additional digit.  Also for whatever reason, the "Installing Update" deosn't work either.  I've tried it multiple times.  It seems like it's working, but then I get an error message "Product Update Error"  A time tine out has occurred while waiting for your printer to be updated.  Finally, on the System Notification Page, it states the SD card is removed (do I have an SD card)?  Do I need one?  It also states Syncing Networks (Do not undock while syncing)-- it's said this for >24 hours.
    Thanks
    NEIL

I am literally on my 4th E-station printer.  My problem arises when I update the Zeen tablet software.    Upon doing so, the printer icon disappears from the Zeen tablet.   When I try to use certain features, it states that I must dock the Zeen tablet (which is already done) and sync.  Which I can not do because the printer does not recognize that the Zeen tablet is docked.  I did a factory restore, which rendered the Zeen tablet useless - the 'continue' button on the tablet in the Wizard setup is grayed out and I can not continue.  I brought it back today and it was replaced with yet ANOTHER.  i do not recommend updating the sofware.  It is what is causing all of my problems.  I inadvertantly did it this time and regret it.  I have advised everyone in my house NOT to update my Zeen tablet.  Thankfully I bought the black tie protection when I bought the printer.  Although - HP did send me a replacement once, but it was a huge hassle - and that one is the one I just had to replace yet again

  • My iPad shows my Photosmart 7510 but won't print. Wireless commands from my computer to printer work

My iPad shows my Photosmart 7510 but won't print. I've disconnected and reconnected printer, turned iPad off and on.  My computer communicates well wirelessly with the printer. Troubleshoot further?

I would try a hard reset on the iPad.
To do so, hold both the home button and sleep button down at the same time.
Keep holding them until the device restarts and you see the Apple logo.
Once you see the Apple logo, you can go ahead and release the buttons.
Once the iPad is booted back up, try to print to your 7510 again.
Let know if that helps resolve your issue or not.
    Best of luck,
    Kyle

  • Photosmart C6380 AiO won't print black

Hi, We have a HP Photosmart C6380 All-in-One that will no longer print black. The photo black and the color cartridges are OK as far as I can tell. It is the regular black that won't print. We had this happen the last time we changed the regular black ink cartridge. For some reason the new cartridge wasn't printing anything so we momentarily went back to the old cartridge and it worked again. Then we took out the old cartridge and put back in the new cartridge and it continued working. Now the cartridge is about half empty and it has quit printing black. This shouldn't be a computer related issue. But in case it is important: WIndows XP SP3. Sorry I'm not sure exactly what driver version I'm using but I did run HP Update through the Solution Center -> Help -> Check for Updates and everything is up to date as far as I can tell. I've tried to get the printer to print black by going through the menus on the printer itself Setup -> Tools -> Printer Status Report. It kicks out only a blank page. I tried running the HP Hardware Diagnostic Utility. It reports that everything is fine but, of course, when I tell it to print a test page it kicks out a blank page. We finally gave up and put in a fresh new black ink cartridge (564 XL) and it still doesn't print anything. Any suggestions?

I see this is still being read so the following is an update. My earlier reply mentioned the printer started printing again. It printed for a while but eventually the same problem started again- no black or blank print-outs and a new ink cartridge didn't help. I think the print head was dodgy. The printer wasn't worth the cost of buying a new print head and wasn't sure that would help. I looked for a printer at a thrift store with a matching print head or same ink cartridges. I found a printer that produced a good print test page after some cleaning cycles, bought it, and moved the ink cartridges to the printer.

Restart the router by pulling its power cord momentarily.
Next, turn the printer off then back on again.
    Try it agan.

  • Black ink cartridge in my Photosmart c309g-m won't print

I have an HP Photosmart Premium C309g-m printer. The black ink was low so I replaced the cartridge with a brand new HP564 black ink cartridge (not the photo black ink cartridge).  The printer will not print the black ink cartridge since I replaced it. I have replaced it with a new black ink cartridge twice thinking that perhaps the first one was bad. I have shut down the printer as instructed and waited. I unplugged the power source and unplugged it from my computer. After waiting the instructed time period, I plugged everything back in, turned the printer back on and attempted to print again. The black ink cartridge still will not print. The color cartridges and the photo black  ink cartridge are printing. I have done several clean printhead routines. I even attempted an alignment (this has failed). Now since the alignment procedure has failed, the printer attempts the alignment every time I turn it back on. This procedure continues to fail since the black ink cartridge still won't print! I am wasting all my color and photo black ink! What can I do to correct this problem? The error messages that I received were Oxc19a0007 and  Oxc19a00013. I could not find any other solutions for this problem.

I have the same problem as redtailhawk, however no error messages.  I have an HP Photosmart Premium C309g-m printer/copier/scanner.  The cyan, magenta, and photo black cartridges were all low, so I replaced them with remanufactured HP564XL cartridges from 4inkjets.com, which apparently are from LD Products, which is on the labels on each cartridge.  These are what I already had installed, and have been using sucessfully for the past two years or so.   The printer will not print using the black ink cartridge since I replaced the other three cartridges.  I believe, actually, that I tried to put a document and only the color text printed before I replaced the three cartridges.  I tried another remanufactured black ink cartridge, thinking that the one I had installed might have become bad somehow. What I have tried:1. I cleaned the printheads from the printer network page, then did a 2nd deeper cleaning.2. I performed a hard reset by unplugging the printer while it was on, after it got finished performing all tasks, then plugged it back in 30-60 seconds later.3. I verified that all cartridges were properly vented.4. I soaked the printheads in hot water and noticed that quite a bit of ink flushed out of them.  However, when I reinstalled the printheads and cartridges, all my ink level went down at least 50%.  Before I removed the printhead, I also noticed that there was some black ink on the printhead that looks like it had leaked from the cartridge prossibly. When I run a print quality report or printer status report, I see that the black does not print at all; the other four cartridges all displays their levels.  Also, every time I try to align the cartridges, the alignment fails.  I do not get any error messages, though. I am running Windows 7 (x64) and printing via USB.  I also tried printing via bluetooth as well as using the web services printer, neither of which worked.  I also booted into Windows 8.1 (x64) RTM and attempted to print, but I'm having the same problem. Please advise me on what I can do to fix this problem, or if I have to buy another printhead.  Thank you greatly in advance. Not sure if these would be useful, but I've include my printer's device information pages and well as the usage report.
Below is my printer's device information page: Below is my printer's usage report:

  • I have a photosmart 7350 that won't print on my xp update 1 machine. it runs the diagnostics from

Photosmart 7350,  Windows XP Upgrade 1.
The printer runs diagnostics at the printer but not to the computer.  The computer shows it as the default printer, but won't print a test page, a command line page or a notepad page.  The printer que shows the print command and a second later says deleted.

I would strongly recommend upgrading to SP2 or SP3 since both made changes to the printer backend. Has it ever worked?

  • HP Photosmart Premium C310 won't print black

My printer won't print black.  I've replaced all cartridges, removed and then reinstalled printer driver, and cleaned cartridges 3x.  After first time cleaning cartridges, the test sheet had black print, but some lines were better than others.  After the 2nd time, no black at all printed.  After 3rd time, no black at all printed.  What next?

Hi , Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I see you are unable to print in black ink on your HP Photosmart Premium C310, you have done some troubleshooting with no success. Please make sure you have not missed any steps listed here: Printer Prints a Blank Page or Does Not Print Black or Color Ink for the HP Photosmart Premium e-All-in-One Printer Series (C310) If you complete all of the steps in the document above and the issue continues, my own personal recommendation, not one of HPs, is to use the solution offered in the following video.  I only suggest doing this if the printer is out of warranty; How to fix a HP Printer, not printing black ink and missing colours  Although the printer might be out of warranty, if the issue persists, HP may be able to offer you something. Maybe they can offer you a discount on an alternate model. If you are in Canada or US call 800 474 6836, or you can Contact HP Worldwide. HP printers generally have a 1 year warranty from their purchase date, you can verify the warranty using the following link if you would like; warranty check.  I hope this helps. If this resolves the issue, please let me know so we can help others who may be experiencing the same issue.

  • Envy 7640 won't print anything except the print quality diagnostic

I'm trying to get a new Envy 7640 installed and working from my desktop running XP SP3.  I have it wirelessly connected to my home network and all machines can see the printer.  If I launch the HP Printer Assistant and print the quality diagnostic page, it works fine.  If I try and print a test page from Windows (or print anything else), it spools for a couple seconds, then the print job disappears.  My wireless laptop (MacBook Pro) can print just fine.
    I've already tried the following:
    Reboot the computer
    Power cycle the printer
Uninstall/reinstall the print driver in Windows
Connect the printer directly to the desktop via a USB cable (same result as trying to use it networked)
    Restarted the print spooler service
Disabled print spooling for the printer via the Advanced tab of the Printer Properties
Manually created my own TCP/IP port and configured the printer to use it
I'm at my wit's end here.  What else can I try?  Has anyone else experienced something like this?

The difference is a Windows print job goes through the spooler, and the situation you are describing, sounds very much like the spooler is corruppted or not working.
You can also try manually clean the spooler,  this page may be helpful on what is the spooler and how to clean the spooler: http://www.techienewsnetwork.com/fixing-or-cleaning-the-problematic-windows-print-spooler/

  • Photosmart Premium C309a won't print pictures in a document

I've had this printer for some time and it has been working O.K. but recently it has stopped printing pictures that are in a document I have created.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled twice and that has been no help.  It won't even print pictures from My Pictures files.   This issue is about a family history book I have written and need to print several copies.  I am really frustrated.  Can anyone help?

No I was not able to print from Paint.  I decided this morning to do yet another uninstall/reinstall but this time I did it from a download off the internet instead of the CD I have.  It now prints pictures from "My Pictures" file - at least it did when they had me do a sample.  But it still will not print pictures from my MS Word document.  I am under a real time crunch to get these books to the binderery so I experimented on printing from a PDF version I have of it.  And to my delight it prints correctly from the PDF! Obviously I need to fix the "Word" problem but for now at least I have found a solution to my immediate problem.I will continue to see if it is only this particular document it won't print the pictures from or just what is going on. Thanks for your help.

  • Photosmart plus b210a won't print info page for web services

I have just purchased a photosmart plus b 210a and its on a wireless network.  I have finally managed to get the webservices enabled (it took about 4 days of trying) but now I can't print the info page to get the code to register on to the eprint centre.  When I try it tells me to upgrade the product but how do I do that.  I have done the product updates through the preferences menu and its telling me there aren't any.  I have gone through most of the Hp websites for help but can't find anything on this particular problem so any help will be gratefully received.  Thank you.

    Hi there,
Thanks for posting all the steps you've done so far, and that pretty much covers HP's print quality troubleshooting document.
So the last thing you can try is this printhead soak method from community expert Bob Headrick: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Ink-Toner-Cartridge-Printhead-Issues/HP-6500-Office-jet-E709a-Black-pri...
