Photostream cant be trusted!

When photostream was first announced I thought brilliant, I'm going travelling around the world for 12 months in October and photostream would be the perfect way to beam my photos back home so they are safe for when I return. Travelling with my camera and memory sticks is going to be a big worry as if i get them stolen that’s all my pictures gone and they will mean a lot more so then the hardware. However I have been putting photostream through some tests to see how good it will work when I'm away and I can safely say it can not be trusted.
Today I have taken 33 pictures on my camera and imported them onto my iPad with the camera connector which i bough from Apple, all 33 pictures transferred fine and i can view them all on my iPad and only 30 of them have uploaded into iColud. I have switched photostream off on my iPad and then back on again (so all the photos deleted and then were reuploaded) but the same thing has happened again. Furthermore, iPhoto only picks up 23 of the 33 picture I uploaded into the photostream. Again I have switched photostream off through iPhoto and back on again but the same thing happens, only 23 appear.
This is just not good enough, I could be travelling the world thinking all my pictures are getting downloaded back at home safely only to return and find only 2/3 of them have been backed up meaning if any of my memory sticks are lost, damaged, stolen or the images deleted to make room for new ones then I’m screwed.
Has anyone else been having these issues?
In case it makes a diffrence, I'm using the newest iPad and the latest software. On my Mac I'm running the latest version of iPhoto.

If you look through a week's worth of posts in this forum, you'll find MANY posts by users who have had problems with both photo stream and backups to iCloud from iOS devices that did not restore all photos when a resore was executed. I agree that photo stream is not rock solid. Of course the whole iCloud system is new and a lot of kinks need to be worked out. Hopefully, some day, the system will work as designed.
For now, I'd find other ways to save photos. I have several apps that I haven't really used much, but they are for syncing photos to other places like Dropbox. You might go over to the iTunes apps store and look over
** PhotoSync (wireless syncing between devices, but also suports Dropbox, Picasa, and other services.
** PicBox (uploads to Dropbox).
I'm sure you'll find others.

i can receive shared photostream invites, but cant create my own, well cant create one, but cant add subscribers why?

Can the RECIPIENT of a shared photo delete that photo from the Shared Photo stream on THEIR device or can only the ORIGINATOR OF THE SHARED PHOTO remove the shared phot by deleting it from the originating device? Trusted RFC for two managed systems where SID is identical

I fall into strange situation, We have maintenance landscape & project landscape where SIDs are same for D & Q Systems.
Now I am trying to setup System Monitoring & EWA etc from Solution manager, I cant create Trust Relationship between the solution manager & managed system where SID is same.
This is not about defining system in SMSY.
Any help is appreciated.

If the SID's are under different installation numbers then this should be fine. If they are under the same installation number, how can Solution Manager tell the difference between the systems, and know which system to trust? They become identical entities if they share the same installation number and SID.

ITunes wont recognise iPhone

iPhone 5s model A1457.
I have two Windows 7 64 bit laptops, one has iTunes 11.4 running, the other has the latest iTunes 12.0.1
iOS was 7.something and I stupidly tried to update overthe air to 8.1.2
Something went wrong and it is stuck in recovery mode.
Recovery screen (iTunes logo + cable picture) lasts only for a couple seconds before it turns off.
Cable seems to work because it worked for other iPhones I have used.
If I open iTunes, connect the cable to my laptop, then connect the other end to my phone, the phone turns on and then goes to the recovery screen.
iTunes does not recognise the phone.
Since I cannot do anything else with the phone, it will turn back off in a couple seconds.
Already reinstalled itunes the proper way (uninstall programs in order - restarted laptop - reinstalled)
Checked device manager. I believe the phone should appear under "portable devices" or something but "portable devices does not appear in device manager.
Also, I believe there is supposed to be something under "Universal Serial Bus controllers", but I can't see anything related to the phone.
Tried using different USB ports, but that doesn't work. (also note: unplugging the cable from the phone all turns it on and shows the recovery screen for several seconds before turning off)
Did something that involved turning off itunes, disabling then enabling apple mobile support (or something like that), then turning iTunes back one - didn't work

I somehow managed to fix it.
Solution:
It seems that iTunes could only recognise my phone if I plugged it in a certain way.
With the phone in one hand, I used my other hand to hold the cable (with thumb+ side of index finger) just under the head of the usb end.I then pushed the cable in (towards the phone). Without bending the cable, I slowly adjusted my hand till it worked. I knew this worked because I heard the notification sound from my pc.
This wasn't an issue of getting the right cable because I have used other cables which worked on other phones but not mine (this leads me to believe the port (hole) of my phone is slightly deeper than usual. that said i usually dont have this problem of needing to push the cable in to get it to work. I do however have a problem of getting cables that work (which could be relevant). My trusty one (which isnt actually trusty) works if i move it about and orientate it in a way that it works i.e. its very tempermental
well anyway....
Knowing all this, I held the phone in my armpit (to free up a hand), and again reoriented the hand holding the usb cable while pushing in towards the phone such that it worked (heard the notification sound from my laptop). with my other hand I started the process of restoring the ios on the pc.
NOW I HAD TO BE CAREFUL. If I moved out of position (even a little bit) the phone would disconnect and the restore would fail, so I had to painstakingly stay in position for the whole restore process. It took about 4 attempts but I succeeded in the end. You should watch out, even if itunes is still "extracting" the ios file my phone could still disconnect (i would only know if it disconnected when i get a failure message after it finishes extracting). i had to hold still throughout the extracting, the iphone checks, the actual iphone restoring process (where you see the loading bar on the phone) etc. after the extracting period, the notification sounds my pc makes when i plug something in went off occasionally which worried me, but i still kept still and in position throughout till i succeeded. so you cant necessarily trust the sounds completely
The restoring my backup process was not as painstaking. I plugged everything in, wiggled the cable a little till i could see my phone in itunes, then just restored the backup easily.
my hand aches from holding the cable for so long but i have succeeded in the end. I don't believe I have ever seen advice like what I have mentioned on the internet so i hope this will help everyone who seem to have tried everything without success

HP Pavilion dv7 2215sa memory upgrade to 8gb becomes unstable

I have a HP DV7 2215sa laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit ed and it has 4GB of Ram.
I wanted to upgrade the mem to 8GB to bought two 4GB mem from Crucial and experienced the following problems:
1. Turned on the laptop after the upgrade and got 'Windows is loading file' message. After that, windows didn't load and saw the HP logo again (as you would do when you start the machine up). Then was presented with two options..... start windows normally or load windows repair (something like that, I can't remeber the exact message). With Either option selected, the machine just goes into the same bootup loop and you then presented with the same two options.

2. Machine boots up after system check and......windows starts to load up, but crashes when I get to login prompt.
3. Restart machine again, Windows doesn't load and I get those previous two options again.....selsct load windows normally and....windows loads up! I manage to log in! I casn browse the web, load applications...and its quite fast but notice something strange. The screen flashes (just the once) and my wireless connection dies for about 5 minutes, i.e. get crossed symbol in the wirless icon as if to say its been disbaled when its not. The blue light is still on for wirless though on the laptop.
4. Wireless recovers. Run Go on to firefox, try to update it.....the update fails. Load itunes, it requires an update.....when it tries to download the update from apple, it gets a download rate that reminiscent of dialup...Kill, the download and acquire the latest file from Apple. Windows then tells me that the download in unverified and that it cant be trusted. **bleep**? Try this a number of times and then eventually it manages to accept the file somehow. But the drama doesn't end there, th install cycles about 5/6 times and then it eventually installs the application. (It was the 64bit version, 32bit couldn't be installed as advised by apple).
5. Rebooted the machine about three times and managed to log in all three times but still seemed unstable (i.e. firefox still didn't update).
6. Next day, started the machine.....BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH.....something about memory management. didn't get the error message recorded but knew it was to do with memory.
I've got my laptop working again by re-installing my old memory.
The modules that I bought were....... DDR310600 1.5V 4GB (x2)
My current modules are Samsung PC3-10600 2GB
I didn't try installing one module at a time to see which one was faulty because I was annoyed and just returned the memory back.
Has anyone had a similar experience with the same if not similar laptop? And if so, how did you manage to upgrade your laptop to 8GB?

I had the same issue with my dv7 2278 and was not able to fix my problem.
i tried 2 differenst memory manufactured, and each of them did not work.

HP Pavilion dv6000 - Blank screen

My HP Pavilion notebook PC, which is now almost 2 years old, is showing a blank screen. its not displaying anytihng at all. Not even on an external monitor. I was working on the pc when at once there came colored randonly moving lines and after sometime the screen went blank. i pressed a few keys randonly but somethin seem to work. so i shut down the computer by pressing the power button. when i restarted it, the screen was still blank though it seems that the computer did start tht is the touchpad's light were on, the cd drive also seemed to b fine.. as well as wifi etc.
any suggestions how i cud figure out wot actually the problem is?
i dont realy wanna take my computer to the repair shops here because they simply cant b trusted.
help!!

Illustrator CS4 wont save files, please help?

You can edit a file, go to save, close it down, then when you re-open it the changes made have not been saved?? No error message or warning pops up, and it all looks ok like it has saved properly, until you open it up again. This also happens when you use 'save as' command if you use the original file name. If however you type in a different file name - it saves ok. But obviously that is not great as you cant now trust or rely on the save mechanism of the programme, to make sure any changes to artwork have been stored!! I have never seen an issue like this, it is worrying, I hope somebody can help?

We are running CS4 on windows7 - yes PC!!!

We save in EPS, and its not just one file, its a variety of different files and it seems to be random as to which files it does it on, some work fine - some don't. And it can be anything from a minor text change to a colour change, it doesnt seem to matter on the change made, it reacts the same.
The files are saved over a network connection to a large external hard drive.
Its really puzzling and now starting to cause problems as we do a fair bit of work in it, and can't trust one of the most important features, and that any changes that have been done have been saved and stored!
Hope maybe you can help with any thoughts at all.

Dba_tab_modifications empty after statistics

My aim is to collect information from dba_tab_modifications every hour, to audit DML activity on many tables.
But, the problem is, when statistics is computed on a table,the related line on dba_tab_modifications is deleted.
So, how can I do ?

I went to verify with support about that 3 hour flush window as I had a doubt. I cant seem to reliably verify it, other than finding notes to say it used to be 3 hours, but now its once a day but might every 15 minutes but cant be relied on at all if the dml change doesnt exceed 10% . Anyone got a note to say exactly what it is in 11g and 12?

I would dispute the fact it doesnt populate if DML change is less than 10%, Ive seen it populate with even 1 row change in a many rows table, the dba_tab_statistics then uses that figure to work out if changes are stale.
Anyway, all in all, it cant be trusted to get the info OP wants.

Applications unexpectedly quitting.

When I first started to research Macs, I read in the FAQS that applications quit every now and then. I figured that it was no biggie. Photoshop has quit 4 times within the last 2 weeks, as well as Safari. For no reason. I have lost major progress in my work twice because of this. Is this common or do I have a piece of crap Macbook? If this is common, why hasn't Apple fixed it? I have only had it since June. I am also particularly angry that the new Pros came out right when I got mine. Should I take it in for repairs or what? Thanks.

I have a macbook pro 17" with 10.5.6 and some of my applications are quitting unexpectedly. Flash and Swift 3D will all of a sudden vanish. I have to restart or else it will just do it again. I can do the same stuff with the same files on any other mac I have.
I just recently zeroed out my drive and reinstalled EVERYTHING to see if that would fix it. (did this because i was getting permission errors in disk first aid that couldnt be fixed). NOW no errors with disc first aid, just apps quitting! It cant be trusted! any thoughts?

I have a Satellite 110CT (810). In fact, you do NOT need an external transformer or power adopter. You can just plug into the standard 110V hourshood power.
I installed Damn Small Linux as well and use it as a digital picture frame, works very well.

i was just about to order a 875P NEO when the 1.3 bios thing happened. issues with ram timings still not solved.. one thing gets fixed and another thing gets broken.. cant even trust the various hw testsites coz msi dynamicly overclocks the board under certain conditions..
now i wonder if i shouldnt go buy a gigabyte or asus instead.. please help me decide what motherboard to buy , is the neo still an option ?(

all boards have thier fault, Just remember to get a board with manufacturer's support. For me i still have my MSI, i was one of the survivors of the 1.3 bios. i also tried 1.4 bios which corrects the temp readings but is a poor overclocker so i switched back to 1.3b2 for my comp.
I think MSI is a good contender for an OCing mobo, altho abit is a good choice too so far or asus. it's really up to you. just read around threads about these mobo and look the manufacturer's support with the mobo.

Firts step i need copy extractor, in second step i need modify structure and field for consolidate the information.
Extractors 0FI_AP_6 & 0FI_AP_7 not have Key Field for execute SQL in BSEG.

To be quite honest - why are you copying the extractor?
The extractor code has a load of timestmp checking in the extract module
BUDAT is not good enough as a delta mechanism because documents are changed in their lifecycle and you would never get the changes to the document - ie if the user blocks it for payment or changes the due date or even pays it (e the cleared date and item status changes) - you will never get these changes
Thats why the std xtractor does this..

FM2-A75MA-E35, Less Usable Memory than installed....

I just powered up my new FM2-A75MA-E35 Mainboard with A6-5400K and 4G memory stick. Running Win 7 Ult 64.
When I used on board video, I had 3g out of 4G available. I assume the missing 1G was reserved for video use.
So I put in my ATI Radeon HD 5670 video card hoping that disabling the onboard video and using plugin video card memory would free up the missing 1G of ram.
Instead, now I have 2.9G out of 4G available.
Any help or guidance is appreciated.

F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL if i'm not mistaken are G-Skill Ripjaws (they are known to be very problematic on MSI boards Due to a DEAL with a brand-X) try some different RAM and i would suggest some from Corsair of 1.5v instead!
at most the board will dedicate with 8GB installed 2-2.5GB to the IGPU max (1.5GB if only running 4GB at the most) so it sounds more like a incompatibility due to the poor choice you have made when you bought the RAM!
if its no incompatibility then you have some VERY FAULTY RAM so its either a incompatibility or very BAD ram involved here.... i suggest you get some different ram from one of these 2 Manufacturers (Corsair & Crucial) as G-Skill cant be trusted on a MSI board as they have a very bad rep and in particular the RIPJAW skew they make!

I locked my Iphone 4s screen and it randomly wont turn on. you can hear all the sounds but wont work.

The lock button is broken so i cant do the home button and lock button trick... Itunes asks for 'trust' when i connect to itunes but i cant allow trust if the screen does work... Ive been told to restore the phone but itunes wont let me. The phone isnt recognized by the computer either... I have no way to get to the apple store for help. Any ideas for this being an easy-fix problem???

ive tried charging mine too. the only recommendation i can give is to allow the phone to completely die, and not being able to access any apps or anything to kill the battery makes it a long, boring process that could take up to 2-3 days (depending on the battery life of YOUR phone). im in the same situation, but my phone did flicker to life for 20 minutes or so, but then went back to the screen being a jerk. the only reason im continuing to put my phone on the charger is to assure that it syncs with my icloud so i can just get this piece replaced simply and easily.

Lost photos after ios 8 update and cant get photostream

Just updated iphone 5 from ios7 to 8 and now cant access all the photos which were on my photostream ?
The albums still appear in my phone which i created but there are no photos and none of them have backed up onto my computer.
Lost some really important photos so does anyone know how i can find them ?
