Where is it deleting the photos from? The Camera Roll? The Photo Stream album?
Have you exceeded one of the limits? The Photo Stream album will only keep the last 1000 photos and may remove the older photos, if you have more than 1000 photos in the stream.

If you've deleted pictures from your iPad and don't have a backup then they are gone.

Can I just transfer iPhoto pictures from an old mac to a new one without transferring anything else?

I bought a new iMac back in September and finally got around to setting it up. Unfortunately, I am having loads of trouble transferring stuff from my older iMac to the new one. It probably has something to do with the reason why we've replaced it...video RAM failure. I really don't care about settings and applications and most other stuff on the old computer, but I really do want my photo library and if possible, all my saved emails. Any help would be greatly appreciated. We've tried transferring info from first set-up of the new computer and the old computer would just freeze and have to be shut down half way through the process. We tried this for HOURS yesterday and just wouldn't work. Both computers were connected via FireWire, but it didn't help. I got so fed up with it that I just manually set up the new computer, but it's a blank canvas. I can get my new e-mail, but don't have my saved emails or my contact list. We tried transferring again after setting up the new computer but that failed as well...the old one froze half way through. Can I just transfer bits and pieces without having to transfer the whole user account and settings?

I stated that I did try to do all of this when I first set up the new computer...I did do the Setup Assistant numerous times but my old computer kept freezing half way through. Even if I did it when I first got the new computer back in Septemeber, I would have had the same issue b/c my old computer has been 'broken' for a while. My old computer can't handle doing too much at once and I think the setup and then migration functions I tried were too much. That's why I was hoping I could use the migration function piecemeal. I wish I could just check off the exact files and folders I want vs. having to choose it at the 'user' level...that's too much for my old computer to have to transfer.

The box to delete message from ISP's server once it is downloaded is ticked in Mac Mail account's prefrences and this option in the past did delete it from the ISP's server. It no longer does this, it only moved the copy from the ISP's in box to the trash so now the recived message has to be manually removed from the ISP's trash.
Does Apple need to supply a patch to put this right?

How to delete photos from iPad when original pics are no longer on computer

Hi
I need to clear photos from my iPad that were synced from my computer some time agi.
Since sycing those pics from the pc to the ipad, I cleared up my pc and backed up the photos onto discs.
How do I now delete those pics from the iPad, as the the images cant be selected and resynced from the pc anymore?

If you create an empty folder on your computer and you sync that folder as your photos folder, that will erase the photos from the iPad when you sync. Or you can unselect the Sync Photos From heading in the iTunes window and then sync to remove the photos.

How do I get my pictures from my old mac to my new one using CDs?

I had an old mac desktop that I had all my pictures on, so when I got the newest desktop i downloaded all my pictures on to CDs but my new mac wont open the pictures up in iphoto. I think it's because iphoto has bean updated alot since my old mac. So when I put it in an old mac laptop it worked. and I could download my pictures to iphoto. But I really need them on my desktop and im not going to spend days and days emailing picture by picture to my desktop (because there is a lot of pictures) someone please help me!

What version of iPHoto did you have? What version now? how did you make the CDs (share burn? export? what?) How are you trying to "open" the pictures? Exactly what happens? what error messages? anything else that might help?

Upon activating my Siri button, I get an unbearable screeching sound. I already turned in my old ipad under warranty for a new one because of this same problem. Now the newest one is doing the same thing. Anyone else out there experiencing this?

I'm wondering whether or not to get yet another warranty exchange for my ipad 3 over this horrible screeching sound associated with the home button. I was told at the Apple Store by the technician that he had never heard of this problem before and they gave me a new one. Now a few weeks later the new one is doing the same thing. Anyone else having this problem?

Try going to Settings > General > Siri and turn off Siri. Now try to activate Siri with the home button and you should get the voice command system (similar to Siri). Does it screech?
Next, go back and turn on Siri. Then back up your iPad to iTunes or iCloud.
Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. Does Siri still screech?
Lastly, Go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content & Settings. When the Set up screens show up, choose 'Set up as new..." and skip everything you want to. Test Siri again and see if it screeches.
If it does not screech when set up as new, then you may have something corrupt going on in your backup. You can restore form your backup and see if the issue returns. If it does, then go back and set it up as new again and maually set up your accounts and apps again.
If the issue continues even when set up as new, go back to the Apple Store.

Well never figured out how to go around this, but I did just manually do it in photoshop. My middle grey and white cards must not be right.

Everytime I send a picture from my old computer to the new one it becomes a winmail.dat. While it was a jpg when I send it. Also pictures people send me become winmail.dat very annoying. What can I do about it

okay-what type of machine are you sending it from ? It may be helpful to check "Send Windows-friendly stuff" maybe try sending it as an attachment or zipping it, then attaching it. Hopefully something will work in your situation-please see other people's posts on this topic

So my iphoto wasn't working, did the whole delete the plist and make a new library pressing "alt". But now i want to know how i can transfer all my photos into the new library, or some how fix the old library (because i really don't wanna move everything into a new library).

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
