Photostream not appearing in iPhoto

I had to reset my iPhone, and with that, update to iOS 8. Since then, photos I have taken on my phone are not showing up in my photostream album when i open iPhoto on my laptop.

If you enabled the new "iCloud Photo Library (Beta)" as part of the iOS 8 update, that prevents syncing with your Mac's iPhoto.  You can turn this new feature off in you iPhone's Photo settings and you should be OK.

  • IOS4 photos do not appear in iphoto

    HI!!
I have an iphone 3g with iOS4. After upgrading, photos taken from my iphone camera or even downloaded from the internet do not appear in iPhoto when I try to sync. I get a blank space with an outlined frame. Any fix? I have all updated software.

    Greetings,
Ensure all your software is up to date (Apple Menu > Software Update).
Remove the following to the trash and restart the computer and try again:
Home > Library > Caches (I remove the whole folder. It will be re-generated upon restart.)
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.iPhoto (There may be more than one. Remove them all.)
If the issue persists try importing using the Image Capture program found in the Applications folder.
If image capture works then try rebuilding your iPhoto Library following this article http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2638. Use the bottom 3 rebuild options.
If Image Capture does not work then there may be an unreadable picture in the camera roll which is blocking import. See this article for suggestions: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3195
    Hope that helps.

  • Why do videos from a shared photo stream not appear in iPhoto?

why do videos from a shared photo stream not appear in iPhoto?  Within iMovie, it appears as though videos can be imported from the iPhoto library.  However, within iPhoto there are no videos that appear within the Library.  Is it possible to import photos into iPhoto from a shared photo stream?  if not, how can videos be imported into iPhoto?

Yes, I am signed in to iTunes match on the macbook pro, iPhone , & iPad (all updated & correct music libraries) where I bought all the tunes but still no updated tunes on the iPhoto music library after 3 days of being on iTunes match.

  • Organizer photos not appearing on iPhoto after I downloaded them

I have Elements 12 and some photos I downloaded from iPhoto to Organizer now are not appearing on iPhoto, and are grouped together as a folder in Organizer, instead of appearing individually in Organizer

    Memory is getting small
By memory do you mean free disk space? How much free space do you have? It's strongly recommended that a minimum of 10GB free space be maintained (20 GB if you use iDVD a lot) for optimal system and application performance.
By searching for thumbnails can you explain further? Do you get a message?

  • Pictures not appearing in iphoto library

I'm using version 2.0.1 of iphoto. Some of the pictures that are in my picture folder will not appear in the photo library. I have "rebuilt" iphoto, but some of the more recent pictures do not appear in the library. Any ideas on what else I could do to get all my photos to appear in the library.
    iMac   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Some of the pictures that are in my picture folder will not appear
    in the photo library
That's not surprising since iPhoto 2 wouldn't have any way to know anything about photos that haven't been imported into iPhoto. Your Pictures folder isn't the same as your iPhoto Library folder.

  • Deleted videos or photos do not appear in iPhoto trash, Deleted videos or photos do not appear in iPhoto trash

    Hello,
I'm trying to free up space on my MacBook Air by deleting videos & photos, but when I attempt to do so, the supposed deleted items do not appear in the iPhoto trash.  Even if I drag to the trashcan in the list.  What am I doing wrong?  I delete manually the items, and they do disappear from view, but...where do they go/?
    THanks!

You need to restart your Mac after deleting data in order to see a difference in storage space on the hard drive.

  • Trashed photos do not appear in iPhoto trash

First time user, please be patient. I found this same question 30 minutes ago and now have lost it. I hate to ask again. I am using iP6. When I drag and drop photos into my trash, they are gone but do not appear in the trash? This just started about a month ago. One day it works a couple of times and then not? I am obviously doing something wrong.

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
If you have an album selected from your Source Pane and delete photos (from the album) then the photos disappear from that one album, yet remain in your Library. This would explain why you don't see them in the iPhoto Trash Can. Choose Library from the Source Pane and you will find them somewhere. The photos will also remain in every other album, slideshow, book, etc. to which they were assigned. If you wish to place them into the Trash directly from the album, you can type Option-Delete or Option-Drag them to the Trash. Once you've placed them in the Trash and emptied the trash, they are gone from every occurrence in your library.
In contrast, when the Library is selected as your source, photos will go directly into the iPhoto Trash. Removing items from the Library will delete them from every instance - that is, every album, book, etc, as stated above.
The exception to the rule is that Smart Albums behave differently. Because assignment to a smart album is determined by meeting the criteria for the album, as long as the photo remains in your library it will remain in the smart album. (Unless you change the criteria.) As a result, deleting from a smart album will delete the item from the entire library.
    Regards.

  • Photo Stream does not appear in iPhoto (9.1.4) Library

As it does not appear as an option i cannot turn it on on my new Mini running Lion . The rest of my iCloud setup runs correctly. Solution?

Using Photo Stream on your Mac requires iPhoto 9.2 or later, or Aperture 3.2 or later.
    You have 9.1.4

  • New Photos not appearing in iPhoto but are in Show Contents

    Hello,
I am have a few issues with iPhoto.
    1. My last two imports of photos do not appear.  the Last import is showing photos from back in 2013.  If I Show Contents I can drill down and see in Master, Original a 2014/04/12  & 13 folder with sub folders and all the pictures.  I made a not of the file names and back in Iphoto I tried to search for the image name but it did not retrn any results
    2. I have had to force quit iPhoto 2-3 times in the past two days
    3. Today when I open iPhoto, the Events do not show photo is is a black box.  If I scroll up and down it then shows some photos, like I would nomally see.
Do this issue seem to indicate a problem with iPhoto, is there an index type issuse.. can I rebuild iPhoto in some way
For point 1, can i delete the folders in the "Show Content" option and reimport them?
    Thanks

For point 1, can i delete the folders in the "Show Content" option and reimport them?
No.  If you know the file name of the photos that are not showing do a search form them with the search tool:
If the image shows up Control (right) - click on it and select Show Event from the contextual menu.
If it does'nt kdo the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
    2 - Run Option #4, Rebuild Database.

  • HT1338 Photostream not appearing in iPhoto11 preferences

    Hi,
I'm running iPhoto11 9.2.3 (629.52) and Photostream does not appear in preference.  Any ideas anyone.
    Thanks

    Hi...
Your profile indicates you have Mac OS X 10.6.8 installed. If that is correct, you need to upgrade your Mac to Lion v10.7.2 in order to setup iCloud so that you can enable Photo Stream.

    Lion's v10.7.2 requirements:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor

  • Iphone photos not appearing in Iphoto

When I used to plug my Iphone into my Imac, Iphoto started up and my I phone pictures appeared on the screen and I was given the option to import them, or not, into Iphoto; and I thought isn't this easy.
Now when I plug my Iphone in it still charges like it used to but Iphoto does not appear. If I manually open I photo it acknowledges that the Iphone is plugged in but no photos from my iphone are shown.
I don't think I have changed any settings.
    Please help!

    Hi,
Hmm..it should automatically sync your photos. But sometimes, the problem might be from your iPhoto. Check if your iPhoto on both devices is updated. Try restarting your computer too. I think updating the iPhoto on both devices is probably the fix. Try giving it a shot.

  • Shared Photostream not showing in iPhoto

I wanted to try out the new shared photostreams, so I created one on my ipod touch and shared it with a friend.  On my touch, when I look at this shared photostream, it says I have shared it with one person.  When I go into iphoto on my mac, I see the shared photostream, but its shows that it has not been shared with anyone.  Am I not looking at this correctly?
On a related note, I can also see this shared photostream on my PC, where I have the icloud control panel installed.  I tried moving a couple of additional pictures from elsewhere on my PC to this shared photostream, but these new pictures do not show up in the shared photostream on either my ipod touch or my mac.  Do I need to manually sync the photostream somehow on my PC to make these photos appear on the Apple devices?

    Have your tried the following:
Log out of iCloud in the System/iCloud preference pane and disable Photo Stream in iPhoto's Photo Share preference pane.  Then log back in and re-enable, respectively.  That should jump start Photo Stream.

  • IPad saved photos do not appear in iPhoto*

I have about 20 photos (screenshots) saved in my iPad photo album but when I open image capture or iPhoto they both say that there are no photos available for import. How do I transfer these images over? I also have photo sync on in my iPad settings but its not syncing to my desktop.
I am using a first generation iPad.

    Cambb wrote:
They were automatically saved to my 'Saved Photos' album. Id really love to not have to email myself every pic one by one. Seems like it should be easy to do??
It is very easy to do when it works - I have done it quite a few times.
and @Demo, I do have iPad clicked in both iPhoto and Image Capture. Both say I have no photos.
The usual route that I take when these things happen is to quit both apps on the Mac, reboot the Mac, restart the iPad and then try again.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
See if that helps at all.
If you do have to email the photos - you can do it in 4 emails - but I realize that you want to resolve this issue and I don't blame you!

  • Photos not appearing in iPhoto when importing from SD card

On the first instance of using my camera to import photos to iphoto, I used the SD card reader integral on the new iMACs; this worked fine - all photos appeared, I selected import and there they were. Since then, when I insert the SD card, it appears on the desktop and iPhoto launches. Iphoto then shows all the photos on the card that were previously imported, but not any new photos taken. If I open the SD card itself, the new pictures are there. So, why is Iphoto now not recognising new photos that I've taken?

Every application on your Mac has an accompanying plist file. It records certain User choices. For instance, in your favourite Word Processor it remembers your choice of Default Font, on your Web Browser is remembers things like your choice of Home Page. It even recalls what windows you had open last if your app allows you to pick up from where you left off last. The iPhoto plist file remembers things like the location of the Library, your choice of background colour, whether you are running a Referenced or Managed Library, what preferences you have for autosplitting events and so on. Trashing the plist file forces the app to generate a new one on the next launch, and this restores things to the Factory Defaults. Hence, if you've changed any of these things you'll need to reset them. If you haven't, then no bother. Trashing the plist file is Mac troubleshooting 101.
