Photostream not syncing all photos

Photostream isn't showing all the photos I've taken.
I've updated to Lion, ran all software updates, enabled Photostream, etc. It shows up in iphoto (9.2.1), and  most of my shots are there, except for those taken in the last couple days.
Any ideas?
Thanks

just disabled and then re-abled Photostream, and some more photos appeared, but still not all of them.
This is very odd, anyone have any ideas?
thanks

  • Can not sync all photos in Aperture into Iphone 5

I can not sync all photos in Aperture into Iphone 5. It always can sync some photos into 5. Then finish and prompts: "itunes can not synchronize (other)thousands of projects, and see more information in itunes".  That means most of my photos can not seen on Iphone 5, it seems just can't import to 5. Is that the problem of Iphone or the pictures in Aperture, or even just because lack of sufficient space?

  • Photo Stream not syncing all photos

    Hi,
I'm experiencing some issues where Aperture Photo Stream is not syncing every photo to iCloud. I've successfully shared a number of projects but there are a few that just get stuck and only seem to sync some of the photos and the same ones each time. For example I've a project with 36 photos of which only 22 will sync which I've recreated a few times with exactly the same result each time.
I'm fully up to date with OS and Aperture and I've rebuilt permissions and the library and have deleted and recreated the Photo Stream a few times. All the photos are referenced and I've rebuilt the image previews in the project(s) concerned.
Looking in the Console log the only message I'm seeing which is indicating a problem are these which look related but give no further information or indication:
    Aperture: invalid share context
    Aperture: invalid context
    Any help appreciated.

WOW! That font is difficult to read. But, see if this support document helps you http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3989. Photos stream is based on date and photos more than 30 days old are removed. Photostream is designed as a temporary storage to allow you to download the photos to the computer.

  • TS3989 PhotoStream not downloading all photos

Hi, my iPad2 (iOS 5.1), located in China, is not downloading all photos on PhotoStream. I have about 430 photos but the iPad2 can only download about 200 then it stopped. The following factors are for your consideration:
    1. The iPad2 in question is not low on battery (more than 80%), and is connected to Wifi. The problem has persisted for days now. I know there're 430 photos on the PhotoStream because on my iPad1 and iPhone 4S I can see 430 photos.
    2. The iPad2 can successfully upload to PhotoStream photos taken from its camera. In fact, photos taken from its camera would even be downloaded as new photos in PhotoStream, yet still not all photos already on PhotoStream (uploaded by other devices) could be downloaded.
    3. I have several other devices participating on PhotoStream with the same Apple ID - iPad1 (iOS 5.01), iPhone 4s (iOS 5.01) and PC (iCloudWindows version 1.1). In fact, the bulk of the photos on PhotoStream now are uploaded from the PC via the iCloud service for Windows. The iPad2 is the only one having trouble downloading all of the photos.
    4. I have reset PhotoStream on the iPad2 once already. 10 days ago the PhotoStream download was stuck for 163 photos (over 400 total) for a couple days. So I've reset the PhotoStream and re-enabled. The download started again, but has stopped for a few days now at 220 photos.
    5. Just one more background - the iPad2 as I mentioned is located in China. I bought one for my parents so we could use PhotoStream to share photos cross border easily.
    Please help!!!

Nothing... I am waiting on a solution too.  I have the no "My Photo Stream" so no download location.

  • Photostream not syncing all pic after restore

I just got a replacement 4s. Everything was restored via iCloud. When I check my photostream is only shows 113 pictures when before I got the new phone it had the max of 1000. I have an iPad which has all the photos in the photostream and 2 windows 7 computers that are working fine with it too. I have turned off and back on the photos stream on the iPhone but I still only getting of the 113 pictures. Any suggestions to get all the photos to sync back to the phone?

  • Photo library not syncing all photos

iCloud photo library and syncing (not all photos)
I seem to have an issue with iCloud photo in that on my iPhone I have 2,224 photos, on my iPad it shows I have 2,211 photos and on my Mac it shows I have 2,209 photos And on icloud photo library on the web show 2,270 photos. For some reason all the photos on iCloud Photo Library are not getting sync'd to the other devices. On the bright side all my videos are sync'do across all devices properly!
Anyone know how I can resolve this issue?
    Thanks

    Thanks for your reply.
I realize that this is the iTunes forum. I'm using iTunes to sync my iPhone so it seems the right place. I've also cross posted in the iPhone Forum.

  • The New iPad will not sync all photo's

I picked up the new iPad yesterday at the Apple store and am having a problem getting it to sync all of my photo library.
Im using iTunes on Windows 7 to sync the "My Pictures" folder to the iPad.
It will sync some but not all of the folders in the "My Pictures". I have deleted the "iPod Photo Cache" folder, that did not help.
I have 2 iPhones and 2 older iPad 1's  which sync the photo's just fine.

Maybe, although I always thought there was a threshold for each device below which it wouldn't have to create an "optimized" (re-sized) version.  You'd think this would be a high number for the New iPad, giving the screen resolution.  For example, my re-sized (3072 on the long edge) pictures aren't being optimized before tranfer -- they're just copying over and they work just fine.
Who knows.  I just got off the phone with a tier-2 AppleCare rep (I found this thread while we were on the phone), and he indicated he would pass this thread along to the engineers.  It's a pretty obvious bug somewhere in the mix, and one I suspect they'll be all over right away, given the attractiveness of the new iPad to photography types.

  • LR4 not syncing all photos

I switched to LR4 right after it came out and I have never had any issues with it.  A few days ago I noticed that my syncing isnt working properly and it is making what is supposed to be a quick workflow take forever.  I import with a preset, then change contrast, blacks and such then sync all of the images with that. (this is the exact same process I have always used and I havent had any issues before) Only a few images actually sync, then I have to keep changing the settings to get back to what I originally synced to....I thought that I must have accidentally changed one of the settings or something, but when I tried it on my other computer, the exact same thing happened... Any ideas?!??!

Could it be a Process Version "thing"(?)
When syncing mixed process versions, or applying presets cross process version, some bets are off...

  • Photostream does not sync all photos to iPhone and iPad

I have deleted some photos from the Phototream on my iMac leaving only photos taken with my iPhone from May this year. The Photostream on bpth phone and ipad only displays about 50% of these. How do I get them all to sync?

PhotoStream syncs the lessor of  last 1000 photos or 30 days photos

    Photo Stream
On an iOS device, see the user guide for your device in Safari bookmarks or on the Support website.
On a Mac, open iPhoto or Aperture and choose Help from the Help menu.

  • Photostream not adding all photos in stream to restored device

I have an iphone, ipad, and laptop. They all should have my full photostream on them. However, a while back my pc stopped updating the photostream so I tried the typical "uninstall/reinstall" thing and signed in and out of my icloud. That helped in adding the most recent photos on the stream, but now only the most recent show up, not the full stream. My main concern is my phone. I just restored it from an iCloud backup because it had been acting up. Now, while my cameral roll has all 800+ photos, my photo stream on my iphone only has the most recent 150.
I am avoiding reinstalling iTunes for whatever reason because then readding all my music will be a pain due to funky id3 tags.
Has anyone experienced this or found a way to flush the photo stream?

    Thanks for the detailed data!
I wonder if there is something different about the images that didn't move to the iPhone 4. I know I've had trouble with moving video to older devices (meaning: it won't appear correctly), so I wonder if the more limited hardware of the iPhone 4 is the cause of the missing photos? Do you notice anything different (HDR, large file size, photo burst, image stabilization, etc.) about the missing images?
As for the missing photo on your computer, that should not happen. Because Apple assumes computers have more storage than iDevices, all the photos taken by all your iDevices are supposed to show up under Photo Stream. If you did not delete the image from Photo Stream on any of your devices, then it should ultimately appear on your Mac. Unless, of course, the Mac is unable to handle the image—like the argument for the iPhone 4 (above). If the photo that is missing on the Mac is also missing on the iPhone 4, then insufficient hardware is looking likely. Or, corrupted data.
The "1,000 and 30 days" is actually closer to "1,000 or 30 days". Here is what Apple says about Photo Stream:
"The My Photo Stream album on each iOS device holds your last 1000 photos. You can delete any photos you don’t want from My Photo Stream, and you can keep photos permanently by saving them to your Camera Roll. iCloud stores new photos for 30 days to give you time to connect your iOS devices to Wi-Fi so they can automatically receive the new photos from iCloud."
    Important points:
    - Each iDevice has a limit of 1,000 photos on the Photo Stream album
    - New photos are stored for 30 days in iCloud
    - If you want to keep an image reliably on your device, save it to the Camera Roll
    - Apple only guarantees that you'll have 30 days to move each photo to its permanent home on your computer
Other things can affect what is displayed in Photo Stream. For example, if you sign out of iCloud, all the images are removed. I don't know what governs which images return when you turn on Photo Stream again (by signing into iCloud again).
In the end, Photo Stream is intended to be a convenient way to move new photos to additional iDevices and computers. It is not meant for viewing photos, and it is not meant for syncing photos across devices. There is no single canonical "stream" that can be viewed by a device. (Contrast this to Flickr.) Thus, it is not surprising that each device has a different Photo Stream.

  • Ipad 1 not syncing all photos from icloud

i have just bought an ipad 1 64gb (ios 5.1.1) all works fine but only 120 of the 1000 photos have synced via icloud?
any ideas? do i need to plug into itunes 1st time?
    thanks

You should have been syncing photos to a computer to archive them, but it looks like you haven't been syncing via itunes to the computer.
I suspect from your description that you have been using photo stream.  This is a service used to sync photos between devices, it's not a storage/archive service.  Photos are kept in the stream for up to 30 days, after which they are deleted.  If you've been using photo stream, then this is most likely the problem.  Unless you've backed up the photos elsewhere, then they are gone.  It's too late to use itunes for getting back photos.  hopefully they are on some other device or computer.

  • Smrt album not syncing all photos to iPhone

I made a smart album today, and then chose to sync that smart album to my iPhone from iTunes.  However, iTunes syncs only 5 photos.  Aperture tells me there are 86 photos.
I figured the problem was that only 5 photos had previews generated.  However, I have used the Update Preview function on 6 photos, as well as the Generate Preview function on 6 photos.  However, iTunes still says there are only 5 photos in the smart album.  (I chose 6 photos because in the best case for my test, I would get 6 new previews, while in the worst case I would get 1 new preview.  In any case, I would get some new previews.)
When I use iPhoto to "Show Aperture Library", I see only 5 photos as well.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to get this smart album to sync?  Am I on the right track with the previews?
    thanks,
    nathan

    Huskte,
Yes, other albums sync, although I have only 1 other album selected.  The rest of the Aperture -> iPhone integration is done by iTunes's "All projects within the past x days" selection.  Come to think of it, I'm not sure if they are all there...  I will have to check that out.
Good suggestion, however, I'm pretty darn sure it doesn't have to do with the iPod Photo cache.  I tested the Aperture sharing capability by looking at this smart album through iPhoto, and it (like iTunes) says only 5 photos are in the smart album.  It's something to check when I get back to the mac, though.

  • Iphoto not syncing all photos

Hi all, got a MacBook Pro from end of 2011 and an iPad from a few months earlier. Every program on my Mac, iPad and iPhone updated. Suddenly, at least I think so, syncing my albums in iPhoto isn't working properly any more, some albums don't sync!? Any more out there experiencing the same issue? Example, pictures taken last week (with iPhone 4S) and sorted in different albums (copy from Photo stream), one album is syncing and not the other one, I'm going mad! This is only one example, some older albums doesn't sync as well and I have no clue why, HELP!

I'm bumping this thread as I'm having the same problem.
I recently bought an iMac ..  Restored from Time Machine of previous Macbook, and everything was fine.
I have been recently having some problems with sort order on the iPhone..   All events & albums are fine; organised correctly and sorted by date.   But the 'Photo Library' album, the one with every single photo in one big album, is in some unarbitrary sort order.    So I had wondered why this was.
I googled it, searched support communities, and even called AppleCare..   In the end someone suggested using both iPhoto & Aperture which I proceeded to do (to allow me to use the Aperture 'Manual sort order' feature)..  This didn't work as iTunes had some problem with preview sharing with Aperture & in the end I just shut that door for now.
So I then proceeded to resync my iPhone with my iPhoto library, and now I'm getting that error message on the screen of my iPhone saying, in my case', 1500 or so items could not be synced.   I followed insructions & checked iTunes for more information, but none was forthcoming.
So I have been looking around for some fix to this problem! (Woe is me!)   And so I stumbled across this thread, I tried trashing the iPod Photo Cache and nothing has seemingly happened.
Does anyone have a further step to take?

  • IPad Not syncing all photos

I just returned from a trip and had about 140 pictures that I edited in iPhoto, as I always do, and then tried to sync with my iPad.  For some reason only the last 26 photos show up.  I tried re doing it with the same results.  I then performed an update on the iPad and once again got only the last 26 from this trip.  The other photos are all there from previous trips.  What is going on and how can I fix it?  Thank you.

I tried both bits of advice from Demo in that order with the same results.  Only 26 of the 135 Fresno pictures show up.  I will attach a scfreen shot of the window visible during syncing.  A couple of things to mention are that I hit the delete button on a few that were terrible instead of edting them.  I also had accidentally used my iPhone on a video instead of picture setting and two of these are in the queue but not at the point where the photos start showing up.  "Trips" should include Fresno but you can see it does not.  "Fresno" has only two listed despite the fact that I want all 135 in that folder.  It probably adds up to more than 135 since I deleted some but they are hanging around.  When I completed the syncing process, my iPad said six photos could not be imported and to see iTunes for information, even though iTunes says nothing.  I recall in the past that there were two or three that could not be imported for some reason.  Here is the screen shot and thanks for any help and advice that I can receive.
