Photoworks plug-in location in iPhoto?

I'm experiencing the same problem identified in a thread last year.
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1826903
My Export window in iPhoto stopped appearing after I tried to download the PhotoWorks Photostreamer package. I went to the Apple Store and they reinstalled iPhoto. My Export window started appearing again, so I thought the problem was solved. When I re-installed the Picasa plug-in, the same problem occurred. I read the thread from last year (thanks!) and have disabled my Picasa plug-in. So, now my Export window appears again, but no luck using third party plug-ins until I can somehow find and delete that Photoworks plug-in. It's clearly still there because the Photoworks tab still shows up in my Export window. Just wondering if anyone knows how I can find that plug-in and kill it once and for all. I've sent an e-mail to Photoworks, but no response!
Thanks!

Search hard enough and sometimes you can find your own answer. For those experiencing the same problem as I have, go into your Library on your hard drive under the folder "Application Support." In there, you should find a subfolder entitled "PS2 Exporter.iPhoto Exporter". Move that into your trash and the plug-in should disappear.
Too bad Photoworks couldn't put its plug-in in the iPhoto Plug-Ins folder.

i moved the folder containing all of my photos to a new location on my hard drive by mistake. I've moved it back to its original location, but iphoto no longer sees the photos. What step(s) am I missing to allow iphoto to see the photos as it did before. Also,
I am trying to back up all of my photos to a thumb drive. Is there a way to do this thru iphoto?

Witholut knowing what you did, it's hard to know what you missed doing, no?
Try Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library'
Backing up just the Photos? File ->Export
    Backing up the Library?
    Most Simple Back Up
Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
    Slightly more complex:
Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically. Examples of such apps: Chronosync or DejaVu . But are many others. Search on MacUpdate

  • My photos won't "load" - it has worked fine for at least two years, but suddenly now when I plug in the chip, iPhoto opens up as usual, but the window just says "loading photos",  and the little wheel keeps on spinning - can anyone help me?? I am new here

my photos won't "load" - it has worked fine for at least two years, but suddenly now when I plug in the chip, iPhoto opens up as usual, but the window just says "loading photos",  and the little wheel keeps on spinning - can anyone help me?? I am new here. I need to get it working again because we're about to go on a trip!

What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later:
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

  • HT3986 Where are the individual files located in iphoto

Where are the individual files located in iphoto, thanks for your help

They are all stored in the iPhoto Library.  You would need to examine its contents to see them separately (outside of iPhoto).

  • Locating the iPhoto Library exclusively on an external or NAS HDD

I have been successful doing this with iTunes. Is it possible with iPhoto?
The ideal scenario would be locating the iPhoto library on an external NAS on my network which would be accessible via Mac (and yes, PC - sorry - not living in a perfect world, yet).
Thanks in advance and sorry to all if this is the 100th time this question has been asked.

Welcome to the Apple user to user assistance forums
No it is not the 100th time - more like 250th time
1- the iPhoto library must be on a Mac OS extended (journaled) format disk which can not be accessed by a PC
2 - iPhoto has no cross platform capability
3 - iPhoto does not support a multiuser environment so even with multiple Macs sharing a single library you have to be very careful not to cause problems
4 - You can (although there are significant drawbacks) have iPhoto reference the original photos on a NAS but the PC users will not see edits made by iPhoto and iPhoto will not reflect any changes made in the originals by another computer - this is possible but not recommended
5 - iPhoto is a relational database program using an SQL database and it must have total control of the content and structure of its database (as any relational data base must have)
6 - You need a profession DIgital Asset Management program (DAM) to do what you want effectively

  • Can't locate imported iPhoto files in Finder

I recently imported a series of pictures into iPhoto. However I can't locate these picture files on Finder..What happened was I had to fire up iPhoto app each time and right click to 'Show File'. It said the path was user/Pictures/iPhoto Library/Originals/2007/...
I want to locate these files on Finder, however, when I clicked on user directory user/Pictures/iPhoto Library I can't drill down further. It seems that 'Originals' folder is missing. When I show package contents though, this folder showed up. This is a frustrating experience for me because I can't upload the pictures to the web, or easily find them.
Does anyone has any idea if this is normal behavior or is there a way I can easily access the list of pictures I've imported without firing up the iPhoto? Appreciate any response. Thanks very much.

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
Does anyone has any idea if this is normal behavior or is there a way I can easily access the list of pictures I've imported without firing up the iPhoto
This is perfectly normal behaviour for v7 of iPhoto. The change was made to the format of the iPhoto library because many users were inadvertently corrupting their library by browsing through it with other software or making changes in it themselves. If you're willing to risk database corruption, you can restore the older functionality simply by right clicking on the iPhoto Library and choosing 'Show Package Contents'. Then simply make an alias to the folders you require and put that alias on the desktop or where ever you want it. Be aware though, that this is a hack and not supported by Apple.
However, better to use one of these:
10.5 users: If you use the extended Open or Attach dialogue (with Column View) you can scroll to the bottom of the Shortcuts and find the Media browser there. Select any pic you want from there.
Another way to access the files with iPhoto not running, is to create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use THIS
    Otherwise:
There are three ways (at least) to get files from the iPhoto Window.
    1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
    2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
    3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.
To upload to MySpace or any site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. If you're using Gmail you can use THIS
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.

  • ITunes no longer opens when I plug in my iPhone - iPhoto does. Help!

Don't know what happened - but when I plug in my iPhone to sync - iPhoto opens up - not iTunes.   I went to Help, and changed USB port, restarted computer and iPhone....  iPhoto still opens instead of iTunes.  Device only shows up on iPhoto window, not iTune.  Is there a fix?

It SHOULD show up in iPhoto if you have photos in your Camera Roll, in addition to opening in iTunes.

  • Changing location of Iphoto library

I am looking to change my Iphoto library to an external hard drive, as my 250GB internal drive is just not large enough, especially as I am now using itunes to watch movies and TV shows. Is this a simple operation? The help menu has instruction on changing location but I am worried this just refers to a different folder within the internal hard drive.
    Anyone got any suggestions

    It's very simple.
Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
    3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
    4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.

  • Aperture GPS locations and iPhoto 09

I use Aperture to handle all my RAW image files that have been geotagged using Maperture with the latitude and longitude information and was hoping that iPhoto 09 would pull in that information. But after playing with iPhoto for a little while it seems that it sometimes pulls in that info, but most of the time I find that it doesn't.
Has anyone else experience this problem and found a workaround? Is the location information stored in the preview images created by Aperture?
    thanks

No, this information is not included in the Aperture Previews.
You will need to export the files from Aperture and then import to iPhoto, making sure to write the data to the files on export.

  • How can I get my photos to save the GPS location for iPhoto?

I noticed that the info on my photos uploaded from my iphone 3G is not marking their location on the map. How can I activate this feature so the GPS location of the photos taken is saved to each photo's info in iPhoto after I upload it? Thanks!

So i have a dslr canon and take great portraits and tune them to exactly how I want them to look, they dont print at all like the colors presented on my screen. If i antique them then they print yellowish. Ive even tried printing them at walgreens because i thought it was my new printer. Hp hasnt let me doown til now. Is ot a printer setting? Ive never had this kind of printing issue.

  • Lightroom: Geotags/ locations from iphoto import (using plugin) are not showing in Lightroom and metadata

Hi, I imported my iphotos to Lightroom using the plugin and realised that the geotagging/locations that I did on iphoto did not get transferred.  What is the best way for me to get the geotags transferred without having to geotag all the photos on Lightroom again?  Going forward, I intend to geotag my photos on Lightroom only, how do I make sure they are in the metadata?  Thanks!

    Hi ltjunior,
Where are your images stored on your computer?
Can you locate them, and import them directly from Finder to Lightroom's Library module?

  • Changing the file location of iPhoto library...????

I have a 13' Macbook since early 2008 with an 80gb hard disk.
    I also have a 500gb Time Capsule..
Due to the size of my hard disk and my music collection amassing already 80gb+ I changed the file location of the iTunes music library to the Time Capsule.. this wasn't too difficult to work out how to do, but, i now have over 50gb of photos and videos in iPhoto and do not want to delete any. This has resulted in my hard disk/start up disk being full to capacity.
I now of course need to change the location of my iPhoto library from being on the MacintoshHD to being on my Time Capsule, but unlike with iTunes i can find no way of doing this... can anybody help??
    thanks in advance

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library Folder from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
    3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
    4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.
    but
    1. Have you a wired or wireless connection to the Time Capsule? A strong warning: If you're trying to edit the Library (that is, make albums, move photos around, keyword, make books or slideshows etc.) or edit individual photos in it via Wireless be very careful. Dropouts are a common fact of wireless networking, and should one occur while the app is writing to the database then your Library will be damaged. Simply, I would not do this with my Libraries.
    2. Are you also using the TC for back ups? because the device is not intended for both back ups and general storage uses.

  • Can't locate my iPhoto library

The version of my iPhoto library connected to 'Pictures' is old and incomplete.  My photos are normally stored in another place on my iMac but I don't know where. Earlier today in error opened the Pictures directory and now iPhoto is defaulting to that and I can't find the correct location of my photos.
I have tried searching for photo names in Spotlight to see if I could identify a path name but with no success.
I also went into TimeMachine and searched there but not really sure what I was looking for.
I have checked /volumes/ and there's nothing showing for iPhoto
I know the directory is somewhere on my system but don't know how to locate it.
    Be grateful for any suggestions!
    I'm using Mavericks 10.9.2 and iPhoto 9.5.1

My photos are normally stored in another place on my iMac but I don't know where.
If you pictures are not stored in the default location in the Pictures folder copied to the iPhoto library  it is because you changed that - if you do not know what you did no one else can possibly knw - can you explain a bit more?
If you launch iPhtoo while holding the Option key down you wil get a select library window that shows the available iPhtoo libraries that iPhtoo can see - what does that give you?
