Photshop Elements Wont Install

Thank you adobe for allowing me to waste a whole lot more time typing out my issue only for you to advise that I need to complete a whole load more details to enable me to post on this "forum". Of course a "forum" is always a useful device to avoid actually providing proper customer support - but here goes (again)...
I have purchased adobe photoshop elements 12 from Amazon. I have tried to install the program at least 3 times. On each occasion an icon appears on the desktop, but when clicked it goes into the windows 8.1 hourglass equivalent which then disappears after a few moments. The program does not open. If I open the program from a picture - 'open with photshop elements 12 editor' - the program opens. But then if I try to print a contact sheet the organiser does not open at all. The open organiser dialogue appears and after a couple of minutes the screen reverts to the state prior to the setting up of the contact sheet and is set for an individual print.
Is this program fit for purpose? If so, how come it doesn't work out of the box? What fixes need to be applied to sort out adobe's incompetence? I have tried copying the cd to the hard drive and installing as administrator - to no avail.
I have tried disabling all services (apart from microsofts) for a clean boot but this seems to be ineffective and in any case I'm not sure which start up services to disable - I have a disk manager etc. In any case a proprietory program should not be so flakey as to be uninstallable without the need for such tricks and so-called work rounds.
So what do the knowledgeable members of this forum suggest for starters?
I've also posted this in the "installation" section but those who have successfully installed the program may also have resolved the issue described.

Sorry you're having problems, but you're not talking to adobe support here. This is the user to user forum and we're just other customers like you.
Did you disable your antivirus/antimalware software and any products from Norton/Symantec during the installation? If not, I would uninstall via control panel and try that.

Adobe Premier Elements wont install.

I've been downloading the Adobe Premier Elements 3.0 30 day trial to finish a project from home.
I'm running Windows 7 and it doesn't seem to install.
Once the download is complete it states so and asks to install now.
Clicking install now does nothing.

Welcome to the forum.
In addition to Steve's comments, be aware that the trial of PrE will place a watermark on your Exported AV file, so you might not be pleased with using any trial to do work, other than to test the program.

Photoshop elements wont install

i keep getting an error message saying to check available space and write permissions in the destination folder. I have 306GB available. my temp file has been emptied and i have had it installed long ago. Help!

My photoshop elements wont install on my new computer.

I got Photoshop Elements for Christmas last year and downloaded it on my home computer and laptop. I got my laptop cleaned out a couple months later and noticed the download was gone and I no longer had it on that computer. I didn't think it was a big deal. Fast forward a couple more months and I got a different laptop and tried to install it to edit some pictures..but it won't install. Any help would be appreciated

What happens when you try to intsall it? Do you get any notifications? Are you using a download or do you have discs? Do you have it installed on any other machines (there is a two activation limit)?

Photoshop elements/premier 12 wont install

purchased photoshop elements / premier 12 store bought.. it installed the day i got it.. i recently upgraded to a newer laptop ( macbook pro) and it wont install.. YEs the cd/dvd works... the cd begins to run,another box pops up with the install logo... when clicking on it.. nothing happens.. it also does the same thing on the premier side..
tried online chat... they said ask the forum they dont support elements 12... you pay for a product yet cant get help even to install it.. not to happy at the moment.. anyone have any ideas how to get this to install..?? i read I'm not the only one with the same issue..

Please install Adobe Application Manager on your machine once and then try to install the product:

I have had elements 10 from the word go. I have just reset my computer to factory and now elements 10 instals then removes it's self

Hi,
My recently purchased PSE 11 wont install on my imac running Lion.
It says I need to D/L adobe application manager however when I do this, that installs but when I attempt to install PSE again, it brings me back to telling me I need AAM again ?
Its driving me crazy
Any help please ?

Thanks for your reply however I did DL the trial file from Adobe, which as you said, is the same as my CD/ version but the installer throws the "you need to install Adobe Support Assistant" message first.
I've pull that down too but it finds no errors on the install log ?
I'm wondering why this software installation is not just an easy step.
I'm not too computer code savvy so coukld really use some help here.

Can anyone help me print a phot pacage with Adobe Photshop Elements 8?

I am trying to print a picture package with Adobe Photshop Elements 8. The package size is letter (1)5x7 (4) 2.5x3. When I press print, the package is sent to my printer (an HP Photosmart Premium), but it never prints.
My computer shows it is "printing", but it just remains stuck in the que. I cannot even delete or cancel the jammed print job without shutting off the printer, closing the program, and rebooting my computer.
I can print individual pictures with Adobe Photoshop 8 and I can print other pictures and documents from other applications on my computer. So my computer and printer seem to be communicating and functioning correctly except during the use of APE 8.
The problem seems to be a gliche in the adobe program which does not allow me to print photo packages. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Though I can't tell you how to fix your problem, you can use a work-around to print your picture photo.
You can easily save your picture package as a pdf file which you can print at your convience.
install any print-to-pdf application.The application would register itself as a printer and whenever sent a page to print, would convert and save it as a pdf
prepare your picture package and print it using the print-to-pdf application
load the saved pdf file and print it
Adobe has its own print-to-pdf application too. http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/print-to-pdf.html

Yes, Actually was done from an Apple Genius at the apple store, the hard Disk was formatted and then re installed everything from back up.

PSE 8 wont install on my new imac

I see you have helped so many others and am hoping you can help me too. I am starting a new thread as you requested.
I had PSE 6 installed on my old mac G4. I transferred everything by a firewire cable to my brand new imac. PSE 6 wont work on my new imac so I upgraded and bought PSE 8 which wont install. I get 95% through installation and it fails stating "error 2".
I have uninstalled (using the adobe uninstallers) PSE 6 & PSE 8.
I ran the analyzer and it said to run the clean program (I did for CS3 and CS4). It also stated that Minion Pro-Bold font was a problem. I cant find it under the font section. PSE 8 still wont install.

Hi Debbie,
Ok. So let us go step by step:
1. Uninstall PSE 8 again from your machine through Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers/Uninstall Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.app
2. Now browse through the below location on your Hard Disk
<Macintosh HD>/Library/Fonts/
Check if there is any empty/non-empty folder present here saying "Minion Pro-Bold" ? If yes, then move that folder on your desktop.
If not, and say there is a font file present in this location saying Minion Pro-Bold.otf, then move that font file on the desktop.
3. Now try to install PSE 8 again.
4. If it works, hooray, our problem is resolved, go ahead and delete the empty/non-empty folder which you copied on desktop in step 2. If there is a font file(.otf format) which you moved on desktop then ypou can move it back inside the Fonts folder.
5. If it doesnt, then please attach the installer log file which can be located at below location to this forum thread, I will look into it more closely then:
<Macintosh HD>/Library/Logs/Adobe/Installers/"..Adobe Photoshop Elements 8...gz"
<Macintosh HD>/Library/Logs/Adobe/Installers/"..Uninstall Adobe Photoshop Elements 8...gz"
(If there are multiple log files in the above location, then please attach the one having latest timestamp.)

Looks like you have purchased PS 6, not PS CS6(version 14), along with Illustrator 9.
My first question to you is, from where did you actually purchase these apps now, as they are almost 10 years old?
So, if you are trying to install PS 6 on Maverick, then i would say Don't even try as it a very old product which was never designed or supposed to work with the latest operating systems like Maverick.
Same should be the case with Illustrator.

Please look into this list and see if your camera is supported by the ACR version you are using.
If it's not, then download and install the free Adobe DNG converter to convert your CR2 files to the Adobe universal Raw format and the files will open in all versions of PSE (keep your original CR2’s as backup) or for use in Canon DPP bundled with your camera.
