How do I enable Javascript in Foxfire 29.0? about:config does not work.
I've just downloaded the newest available Foxfire (29.0) in the hope I can access my gmail account. But it still says "Javascript is not enabled". about:config does NOT show a preferences menu, so I can't toggle Javascript on. I tried downloading add-ons to toggle Javascript on/off, but they are not compatible with Firefox 29.0.
Must I stop using Firefox altogether? I cannot access my banks, my credit cards, or my gmail accounts, nor can I access YouTube. This is all I use my browser for -- so Firefox is no longer useful to me, unless you can give me a fix for this!
Carol StromekThis solution didn't work, because the page was redirecting and never arrived. It might have been because I was using Internet Explorer, which also is not Javascript enabled -- but the Mozilla Support Forum requires Javascript enabled in order to access it!
I used Chrome, and was able to toggle it when the about:config field ''finally'' opened. The originally posted instructions omitted the instruction that the command about:config will only work if you do it from the Firefox home screen, where the orange word 'Firefox' appears at the beginning of the destination. -
Lync 2013 - Silent install via .msp does not work
The thread listed below is marked as "answered" and indeed the answer given is correct and should work. . . but recently it seems to have stopped working for many.
(EDIT: Site will not allow me to post the link I was planning to post, "until it verifies my account." So, I can only refer you to the thread named "Lync 2013 Client - Silent Installation")
Specifically, it should be possible to do a silent install of Lync 2013 by following the instructions given in the link above to use setup.exe /admin and create an .msp to put in the "updates" folder for the silent install.
The problem is, recently (September 2014-ish) this appears to have stopped working. The thread quoted above has several people replying, all during September 2014, that this method does not work. I am among them. Lync 2013 runs through
the setup, but only Office Tools ever appears as installed in the Start menu. However, if you go to Control Panel, Uninstall Programs, and look for Lync 2013, it is listed there. You can then tell it to "repair" the Lync installation,
and it reinstalls properly. This, of course, defeats the whole purpose of trying to do a silent install, however.
Since it appears that the .msp silent install method used to work, but now does not -- what changed? And what kind of workaround can be used?Hi,

You can use Lion Recovery
Before you do that, go to ~/Library/Preferences
Move the com.apple.iCal.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Trash.
Restart your Mac.
See if you can print or add an event now. -
Install acrobatx mavericks does not work
after a clean install of mavericks, the installation of acrobat x from cs6 does not work. Indesign, photoshop and Illustrater where installed.

Flash Player has downloaded/installed, but still does not work
This is a relatively new problem for my computer, but from what i have read, is a common problem so I know it is not my computer. Out of the blue, click on a video and all i see is a black screen. No adobe logo saying i needed to update or download in order to watch video. So i unistalled, rebooted and reinstalled..nothing. I uninstalled/installed with zip..nothing. Everything that is enabled is enabled..nothing. Reset IE...nothing. Downloaded Mozilla..nothing. I am currently running windows xp, IE 8 (32 bit) and all security software are disabled. The crazy part is that when i check the file for flash player, it does not show any bites in file. I know there should be bites in there because i checked on a computer with working flash player and it shows 6.00 mb. So somewhere from the installation, the file is lost. i have tried pretty much all suggestions, dating back from '09 and really really need some advice.
ok..flash player x is listed. always has been. i don't understand the whole "no files" bit cuz the computer that i am using show 6.00mb in files. unless it is outdated? this computer is brand new, custom made as of last month to my specs, so i can't see how adobe would be outdated. Mozilla shows in my add/remove files, but that flash player plugin is nowhere to be found. in fact, this is all the adobe files i see in order:

i am really not liking mozilla, however...upon clicking a video, it is telling me i need to update to newer version of adobe. i can bring up other websites, just cannot watch videos and was stuck on that redirect to adobe forum..will try the forum again. -

I have a problem with two of my servers. I have ~200 servers which are updating fine through WSUS. The settings are as you can see "3 - Auto download and notify for install" in the GPO.
This is the correct setting. I want to achieve that I can install the updates whenever I want on these servers. On client computers there is a strict schedule with auto installs.
My GPO works fine for 98% of my servers. On two servers (a big file server and a TMG server) the settings are made as you can see in the screenshots, but the updates still get installed automatically.
I have no idea what I'm doing wrong here... It is a big problem for me that updates get installed automatically on these servers.
Although the Policy and the Registry both say 3 the server behaves like option 4 is active.
I would be very thankful for any input on how to find out what's the issue here.and was not able to find any sign of an admin installing it in the WindowsUpdate.log.
Then the Windows Update Agent DID NOT install this update, and it's not really a WSUS issue.
My typical response to such a claim would be to ask you to show me in the WindowsUpdate.log where the update was installed... but it seems that request has already been answered.
The more relevant question it seems, is HOW DID these updates allegedly get installed?

OWB x64 bit client installed with RDBMS does not work?
Has anyone tried the OWB 11gR1 (11.1.0.7) client installed with Oracle database x64? I found out that I could not perform the following tasks:
1. could not create a new table
2. could not import MDL file the first time for a project (only project name is added; I had to run the second time to get all the profile and maps imported)
It throw out an OWB internal error and hangs after having the above two problems. Is there any configuration need to be done to get it to work correctly?

Re-installing an application does not work
I want to re-install an application to an individual machine by going to the machine and delete the registry key at
SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Group Policy\AppMgmt\REGISTRY ID. Then I reboot the machine. After the machine comes back online, I still do not see the application to be installed although on event viewers it says the installation begins
and then the installation ends and also I do see the registry id (to be assoicated to the installation) is put back at SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Group
Policy\AppMgmt\registry id. I am confused. Can someone give some clue where I can look into this issue?

Based on your description, we utilized group policy to install an application for a machine. However, we couldn't see the application even the Event Viewer says that it did install. If I misunderstand you, please don't hesitate to let us know.
Before going further, we need to make sure that the application was assigned to the machine. Regarding how to assign applications to computers via group policy, the following article can be referred to for double check.

How to change what a new tab opens to when auto:config does not work?

For an unknown reason my new tab changed from google to a weird yahoo one today. I cannot find how to revert it back even after i made google my home page and default search engine. I checked online and saw that perhaps I could fix things with the auto:config but I cannot even get it to open. When I try a search engine opens up. Any help would be appreciated.The correct name of that page is <b>about:config</b> and not 'auto:config'.

You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

2. Ctrl+F sometimes scrolls page to the bottom instead of displaying the "Find" bar. (might be related to 1).Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

Just re-installed a fresh copy of CS6 Photoshop on my Yosemite Mac Book Pro and somehow the Adobe Application Manager does not work and therefore cannot verify my copy. What should I do?
I get a message saying that Adobe Application Manager may be damaged and that I should install a new version of AAM. But after downloading a fresh copy of AAM and doing the install, the program (AAM) still will not install. It is like an infinite loop!

I'm sorry but I am not on Creative Cloud. I'm still on CS6 and it was the Adobe Application Manager that wasn't working and I could not install the update to this application. My AAM version is: 8.0.0160
The link you provided was the update that I wanted to install but it does not work. A window shows up during that install that says:
