PHP Instant Message Pop Up

I can write an instant message program, but my only hurdle is...how do I get the message to pop up automatically to the online user?

I'm not at all familiar with ajax, could you give me an example of how to do that?
User table is users, checking user_name and if message = 1. Thanks!

Firefox "pop up" when I recieve a instant message on Facebook Chat

Since I upgraded to Mac Os X Lion, I have a problem using Firefox with Facebook : whenever someone send me an instant message on Facebook, Firefox pops out and come at the front screen.
For example, if I m writing something in mail, if John Smith send me "Hello", Firefox appears, so does the chat window. It's really annoying because if I'm trying to read something while having a discussion on FB, I'm interrupted...
It happens whenever I'm on the main chat (any page of Facebook with the chat opened) or on the popout page (https://www.facebook.com/presence/popout.php), or even if the tab shown is another site.
It happens with all version of Firefox (3, 4, 5 and 6), and only with firefox (tried Opera, Chromium and Safari ; don't have this problem).
I haven't heard anyone having this problem, but now I have to use chromium for Facebook and Firefox for the rest of websites...

I was looking at youtube.com, which always tells me my browser is not supported and recommends I download Firefox, but that is what I was using, so I went to Firefox to check for updates. (I think I also had freecycle.org open.) Good catch. That almost certainly is an invitation to download malware.
There are a lot of infected web sites pushing "fake antivirus" software. If you have any doubts about whether your system might have become infected, you can supplement your regular security software with these two highly regarded scanners:

You question is very unique and interesting. I would like to answer your query. We can very easily activate and access the Instant Messaging feature in Microsoft Outlook. Just follow the below mentioned steps: -
Click on File---->Options---->Contacts.
A window with the name "Online Status and Photographs" will pop up on the screen. Select the check box of the options
"Display online status next to name".
By this, you will be able to use the Outlook Instant Messaging feature. Let me know, if you face any other issue.

Instant Messaging no longer works for me..why?

Instant Message came pre-loaded on my iPad 2 when purchased over 2 years ago. Always worked. Ever since downloading IOS7 and related fix-packs, no longer works. Ive gone to Settings and what I see does NOT match the directions apple.support. What is going on? Do I need a reloaded app from the Appke Store? If so, which one? Instant messaging

Hi All,
This Question is Just for General knowledge,
Is there any way of sending a Instant message from a R/3 client to a BW client. I heard there are some sendings ,thru which v can send message from Cross clients ( r/3 to bw and vice versa)
The message just pops Up like a information window.
Does any1 know this.

AOL Instant Message PW Error

Since updating to 10.7.2, I'm getting this annoying pop up error message about AOL instant messaging password error. The message states: iChat can’t log in to @mac.com because your login ID or password is incorrect. I don't use ichat and want the message to stop, so what do I do?

In iChat go to the iChat Menu > Preferences > Accounts
In here go to the Server Setting tab/Button for your @mac.com name
Disable (Untick) the SSL option.
Make sure the NON SSL server reads login.oscar.aol.com
This is the most common issue if the name worked before.
The other issue is having a @Mac.com name with a password that is longer than 16 characters.
If you are just getting around to using the @Mac.com in ICHat you will need to shorten the Password due to the Limit AIM has on checking passwords.

Does the ext directory have the php_oci8.dll? In the original steps the PHP dir is renamed. In the given php.in the extension_dir looks like it has been updated correctly. Since PHP distributes php_oci8.dll by default I reckon there would be a very good chance that the problem was somewhere else. Since this is an old thread I don't think we'll get much value from speculation.

Instant messaging for businesses

I am trying to figure out if this would work for me... don't like that there is no customer service via the phone.
For starters, we ar ea medical practice with multiple locations. Main office works from desktop while the other locations work through remote connections to the server. Will this work with a remote connection to the server to some locations. Will in pop-up on the screen?
We only need instant messaging, no calls at all...
what does that cost? How do we trial it?

I love Skype's instant messaging capacities - simple, clean, uncluttered, and no cost whatsoever! If your office is not using Skype to place calls, I do not see any reason to start a Skype Manager configuration. Regardless, Skype-to-Skype calls are also free of charge.
All of the participants need to:
Create their own new Skype accounts: http://www.skype.com/en/what-is-skype/
Download the Skype software onto their computers;

INSTANT MESSAGE dont work

Hi everybody
I install EP6 version 6.0.2.3.4
With KM and COLLABORTATION on the same computer .
The CLP is work and also the auto detect status
But when I try to send INSTANT MESSAGE the popup
Window is open and I can right my message but when
Press send it dont send the message and on the
User that I send him the massage I dont get the
Pop window .
Also my when I try to use the Application Sharing
It open a window for one second and then close .
What can I do ?

I am using Portal 6.0.13.0.0
KnowledgeManagementCollaboration 6.0.13.0.0 (NW04 SPS13). The instant messaging worked for the first time after restart. Afterwards, it stops functioning. I get the same problem as described in the original post as Window opens but it does not transmit the message to other user's window. Contact availability status display works properly.
The behaviour of instant messaging is erratic. Sometime it works and sometime it does not.
I am facing similar problem with Application sharing.
Any input ?

This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

New messages popping up in the middle of the last ...

So lately I've been having a problem where the latest instant messages from me to my friends and the other way around have popped up somewhere in the middle of the older messages. Even though I'm scrolling the window to the bottom, they just pop up somewhere in the middle of the old ones, and sometimes I'm even struggling finding them. The picture shows exactly how it looks.

I can't get that message to go away or work on the ical now at all. I try to force quit ical and have shut down the computer and it still comes up. Any suggestions?

Try removing the com.apple.iCal.plist file from your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences Folder. To find that Library folder, if you are using Lion, use Finder>Go Menu>Depress the "Option" key>Library. Drag the .plist file to your desktop, and log out/in or restart.
Next, make sure that you are not connected to the internet. Then to to your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Calendars Folder and remove any files with "Cache" as a part of the file name. Use the same method as listed above to get to the correct Library Folder. Log out/in, or restart and check iCal for functionality.
