PHP5 & MySQL4 & phpMyAdmin

Hi!
We have Novell SBS 6.5, a tree with 3 servers:
1. Border Manager sp1
2. GroupWise (NAT) sp1
3. WEB (NAT) sp6 - Apache 2.0.59, MySQL 4.0.26a and PHP 5.0.5.
Before upgraded the third server from sp1 to sp6 we used PHP 4 with MySQL 4.0.26a without problems.
Now, when I try to work with phpMyAdmin 2.6.4-pl3, it displays partial DB information (tables format), but most other actions cause to Apache to crash with the following message on server console:

Address Space: ADMINSRV
Reason: Page Fault, Attempt to read from non-present page
Running Thread: Apache_Worker 4
EIP: 0xF50DA321 (PHP5LIB.NLM + 0xB7321)

Other strange message is the following error message when trying to connect with the MySQL Query Browser 1.1.15:
Could not connect to the specified instance.
MySQL Error Number 2003

If you to check the network connection, please click the Ping button.
I found TID 3958375 and downloaded the nw65sp5.exe file, but I didn't find the phpmysql.nlm or libmysql.nlm (from Nsure Audit) files.
Please help?

  • Apache, PHP, MySQL, phpMyAdmin

Hi, I'm upgrading to snow leopard and I want to setup my local webserver but I had some problem with phpmyadmin and mysql.
I've activated the pre-installed apache server from the system preferences panel and I've uncommented the load module of the php5 from the httpd.conf.
Which version of MySQL I have to use? And how can I configure the phpMyAdmin?
I've done this on my macbook with leopard, but I'm not beb able to do it on my iMac with snow leopard.

Umm.. well I know where the log files are for apache, but they're unlikely to help me fix mpd   I found the .error and .log files for mpd, they're in $HOME/.mpd/ , but they're both empty! This is really frustrating.. what the hell can it be? mpd was fine yesterday.. it connects on the default port, 6600, is it possible that one of the LAMP pieces of software is interfering with this? Yet if that were the case, surely me stopping all the LAMP-related daemons would allow me to start mpd...
The only other thing I've change since yesterday is my /etc/hosts:
    127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost kaminoitte
    That's fine though, isn't it?
Gaargh, this is doing my head in
EDIT:  Aah.. it might be a groups problem.. maybe. I've got it in my mpd.conf to run under user 'dave', but I accidentally used 'useradd' instead of 'usermod' yesterday when adding myself to the mysql group I made, so I may be missing from one of the necessary groups. I added myself back to optical and video yesterday.. would someone using mpd be good enough to post 'grep [mpd_username] /etc/groups' for me?
EDIT2 (1 minute later): Hehe, I just noticed I didn't add myself back to 'audio'... what a muppet. Problem solved!  XD

  • PHP5, Apache5,MySQL5 & Dreammweaver8

I am very new to PHP, Apache and MYSQL.
For two weeks now I have tried and failed to do the following
(all installations are local on my laptop):
    1. To set up the PHP Application server....why is it is hard
    and very frustrating.
Can someone help me with SIMPLE, inassuming instructions for
    installing PHP5.
The instructions(in the PHP manual) are helpless and hopeless
    for a beginner like me.
    2. To connect Dreamweaver 8 to MySQL database....the error is
    unknown!
Has this anyhthing to do with my failed PHP installation?

    Mwalimo,
I know David doesn't recommend it, but if you are pulling
your hair out you might just give one of the all-in-one
Apache/PHP/MySQL distros a try. I've had very good success with
    XAMPP. The
current version of XAMPP includes Apache 2.2.2, MySQL 5.0.21, PHP
5.1.4 (patched to work with Apache 2.2), phpMyAdmin 2.8.1, and an
all-in-one control panel. It installs easily and in one step, and
it worked for me right out of the package. The default
configuration probably won't be exactly what you want, so you'll
still have some tweaking to do.
The downside is that you won't get quite the latest releases
of all of the components, and you won't get updates (including,
notably, security-related patches) as quickly as would if you
install all the pieces individually. You also run the risk of being
stuck if development of your distro should ever stop, but the
worst-case scenario is that you'll have to re-install all of the
pieces individually -- which is exactly where you are right now.
First choice is to install Apache and PHP and MySQL and
phpMyAdmin individually. (Actually, first choice is to get yourself
a copy of David's book to guide you through installing Apache and
PHP and MySQL and phpMyAdmin individually.) If you simply can't get
the individual installs to work, or if you're pressed for time and
you need something temporary while you figure it all out, try
    XAMPP.
    Good luck.
P.S. To reiterate something David said above that I figured
out the hard way, if you do try to go the individual route,
    don't install Apache 2.
2.x. The 2.2 series doesn't work with PHP 5.1.x (except with
a patched library file, as is included with XAMPP). With PHP 5.1.4
or 5.1.5, make sure you install
    Apache 2.0.x (most
recent in the 2.0 series is 2.0.59).

  • PhpMyAdmin working with Server.app?

Has anyone had any success enabling mcrypt in PHP5.3.15 so that phpMyAdmin works while Server.app is running?
I've able to get it working under Snow Leopard, Lion and Mountain Lion but not while Server.app is running on by Mac Mini (late 2012) under 10.8.3.
I'm still under the 90-day telephone support, but Apple says this issue isn't covered. (Boo!) But for a mere $695 they can help me out with the problem that is related to a symbolic link (or lack thereof).
Has anyone gotten phpMyAdmin to work with Server.app?
    Thanks in advance.

    The solution:
    Copy mcrypt.so from
    /User/server/mcrypt/php5.3.15/ext/mcrypt/.libs/mcrypt.so
    to
    /usr/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20090626/mcrypt.so
    Saved $695!

  • PHP 4 will not compile in PHP5 on OSX Server 10.5.5  Mac Mini

I have been using a commercial server which does not give access to php.ini but bought a Mac Mini and OSX Server 10.5.5. My old PHP 4 program will not compile in PHP5. It gives weird compilation errors to do with curly brackets but as soon as I alter one bracket it jumps to another similar error somewhere else in the program. I think it may require tweeking the php.ini or httpd.conf files which I have opened using Terminal but I don't know what might need to be changed. I expected this to be a turn-key system ready to go. I knew there would be changed required to migrate from PHP4 to PHP 5 and read the official PHP site, searched many forums, and google searches, called AppleCare but none knows what to do. I used an editor and there are 276 open brackets and 276 close brackets. If you have made the same migration without difficulty please let me know. Maybe I just need to start again!

Well, I don't think the code is too messy except for the globals I use.
It is. The point of this function is beyond elusive given the number of side effects it seems to induce. Everything in it could be reduced to one or two lines, but odds are good it shouldn't even exist in the first place.
I just use the same set of globals for all functions so that these variables are readily available everywhere in the program without having to think about it.
That's a very common beginner tactic which is unfortunately very prevalent in publicly distributed PHP projects due to the fact that many of them are written by beginners. I'd highly recommend you start thinking about it if you want to get anywhere.
They are all constants once they have been set initially.
    http://us2.php.net/manual/en/function.define.php
Like $query is set only once when the program picks it up from a $GET statement.
And I'll bet you're not sanitizing that query string at all before passing it along to mySQL.
This leaves two questions. Do you think I should treat every function as a separate file and have the mainline bring them in as "included code". There are 126 functions.
Refactoring should improve the organization, performance and readability of your code according to some logical criteria. Simply putting each function in its own file accomplishes none of these things.
(I have also written a 6000 line program as a MySQL data processor to make it easier for my wife to manipulate the data in dozens of tables without having to keep track of all the unique keys. So this will be quite a big job.) If so I would appreciate a quick tip about how to do that in PHP. Other pre-processing I do with Applescript.
Why didn't you just install phpMyAdmin?
Second, goes back to my initial question. This parsing problem only appeared after switching to PHP 5.2.2 with MySQL. Could this weird behavior be caused by some setting in the PHP.ini or httpd.conf or my.conf files and if so what would I change. The fact that this has not been suggested on this forum makes me think it is not a config. problem. That in itself is useful information.
Probably not, but who knows what other nightmares might be lurking in this file. Did you use short tags like <? ?> or something?

  • PHP5 and MySQL 5 Compatibility

I host my websites on a reseller account for a webhost that is about to upgrade their server technology to PHP5 and MySQL 5. Both PHP and MySQL is now at version 4."something." :-) My question is this, I have websites that were built using MX Kollection Pro 3.7.1 and ADDT 1.0. Has anyone came across any compatibility issues with using PHP5 and MySQL 5. At this point, I don't think I will have issues using PHP5 - but not sure. But the MySQL 5 is uncharted territory for me.
I really don't want to have a website that will not function properly due to the upgrade. I hope someone has come across using those technologies, so let me know if you have had any problems. I exclusively use ADDT for my new websites. MX Kollection is for managing my older websites. I only use the PHP/MySQL combination for my websites.
Also, to write my database tables, I use PhpMyAdmin to create the tables. It is easy for me to login to my hosting account and use that program to write my tables. I then used Kollection or ADDT to write the scripts as far joining tables and stuff like that.

Thank you! I have sites hosted on two different accounts. Most on a multi account that allows me to host other domains and a "real" reseller account. Once the reseller account makes the change and everything still looks right, I will then cancel my multi account but not before migrating everything to the reseller account. I was scared that my websites would not work and was at a standstill on what I should do next. Thanks for the info!

  • Need Help With PHPMyAdmin!

    Hi,
I'm following along with this tutorial for installing PHPMyAdmin:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/settingup_php04.html
Per Step 8, when I go to
    http://localhost/phpmyadmin/setup/index.php
    I get this:
    Bzip2
Bzip2 compression and decompression requires functions (bzopen, bzcompress) which are unavailable on this system.
    ZIP
Zip decompression requires functions (zip_open) which are unavailable on this system.
    Insecure connection
    Force SSL connection
This option should be enabled if your web server supports it
    Servers

Anyone have any idea what the heck I'm doing wrong?
    Thank you.

What's it been? Couple of hours since you answered my last question? Should I expect a bill at this point?
Na, no bill, not yet anyway: the weather's crummy outside and I'm a bit bored is all.
I might just give the Sequel Pro a shot.
I strongly encourage it. If you have phpMyAdmin on your computer, if you're not careful how it's set up, it can be a way in to your databases. I see people looking for phpMyAdmin in the logs on my servers all the time. If you're installing on your own computer and it's always behind a firewall it's not such a big deal.
One thing. I tried entering http://localhost/phpmyadmin/ into a browser, and it brought me to a Welcome to PHPMyAdmin page, asking for a Username and Password. Also said, Cannot load mcrypt extension. Please check your PHP configuration.
Does that sound like I'm on the right track?
Well, sort of. I'm guessing the errors you're seeing relating to BZip2, ZIP, and mcrypt are because you're using the default PHP install, which doesn't have a very rich set of extensions or modules installed. I'm not that familiar with phpMyAdmin, so I don't know if those errors are important. I'd guess the most important one, that no servers are configured, is just because you haven't gotten the configuration done.
You can install a new PHP5 that has that stuff bundled in, but that opens up a whole new can of worms with Apache.

  • PHP5 GD2 + other modifications to be competitive...

I've been reading a number of Topics here about this issue but there seems to be no definitive 'Apple' resolution.
We really need to be able to install PHP5 (and other Modules, such as GD2) to be competitive and up-to-date with the industry. We are 'Mac' after all! It meant to be easy ... "I'm a mac, they're PC's" after all.
Can anyone please shed some light on upgrading OS X Server 10.4.8 to have PHP5 and the GD2 library WITHOUT breaking Server Admin, WebMail, MySQL... as this eems to be the result experienced on the other Threads.

    James,
1/ GD2 running with PHP 4 if possible, just mod
    current OS X server PHP?
This is simple and straightforward and according to the ktools site should be enough. Nothing will break and you get the extra functionality.
2/ GD2 running with PHP 5, replace current OS X
    server PHP.
3/ GD2 running with PHP 5 and MySQL 5, replace the
    lot.
2 & 3 are about the same as far as getting them to work. Not too difficult, but a few things will need tweaking and Server Admin has to be used carefully.
I tried Marc Liyanage's Entropy packages and screwed
    up there too.
His packages are great, but obviously cannot cater to all possible situations.
Personally I prefer building from scratch.
If I could have some step-by-step help in upgrading
    OS X Server 10.4.8 to have PHP5, GD2 and MySQL 5 with
PHPMyAdmin linking and working still I would be
jumping for joy. So much so I (and I'm sure 000's of
others) would be happy to pay for it! (maybe as a.pdf
    tutorial).
Can sure be done. However this means kissing Server Admin goodbye as far as web services are concerned. It's not that SA doesn't work, but it ocassionally hoses config files and in a scenario like this it means trouble for the unexperienced.
I am contemplating writing a few tutorials on this, but it will take some time (which I currently lack
So for starters let's get phase 1 done, so that you can use ktools.
    A few assumptions:
    -You do have a backup
    -You do have a backup
    -You are running 10.4.x
-You have not manually updated anything related to PHP or Apache so far
-XCode 2.4 or higher and the X11 SDK are installed on your server
    -You do have a backup.
    -You have a PPC processor
    So let's get going:
    1. Make sure you are logged in as root.
    2. Make sure you using the bash shell (look at the title of the terminal window). If not issue "bash".
    3. Edit /etc/profile and look for the following 2 lines:
    PATH="/bin:/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin"
    export PATH
If they are there fine, if not add/adjust them
    4. Install GD2 and required libraries by issuing the following commands one after the other making sure you do not miss any dots or slashes:
    (Instructions partly based on http://www.paginar.net/matias/articles/gdxhowto.html)
gcc_select 3.3 (unless you have Intel hardware. In that case ignore this command)
    mkdir -p /SourceCache
    cd /SourceCache
    curl -O http://www.zlib.net/zlib-1.2.3.tar.gz
    curl -O http://superb-east.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/libpng/libpng-1.2.12.tar.gz

    curl -O http://www.boutell.com/gd/http/gd-2.0.33.tar.gz
    tar xzpf zlib-1.2.3.tar.gz
    tar xzpf libpng-1.2.12.tar.gz
    tar xzpf jpegsrc.v6b.tar.gz

    cd zlib-1.2.3
./configure --shared && make && sudo make install
    cd ../libpng-1.2.12
    cp scripts/makefile.darwin Makefile
Now edit the file "Makefile" and make sure the paths are as follows. Be careful about what is commented ad what isn't:
    ZLIBLIB=/usr/local/lib
    ZLIBINC=/usr/local/include
    #ZLIBLIB=../zlib
    #ZLIBINC=../zlib
    Continue by issuing:
    make && sudo make install
    cd ../jpeg-6b
    rm libtool
    ln -s `which glibtool` ./libtool
    export MACOSXDEPLOYMENTTARGET=10.4
    ./configure --enable-shared && make && sudo make install
    cd ../freetype-2.1.10
    ./configure && make && sudo make install
    ln -s /usr/X11R6/include/fontconfig /usr/local/include
    (may cause an error. ignore)
    cd ../gd-2.0.33
    ./configure
    make && sudo make install
    cd /SourceCache
    rm zlib-1.2.3.tar.gz
    rm libpng-1.2.12.tar.gz
    rm jpegsrc.v6b.tar.gz

    rm -r jpegsrc.v6b
    rm -r freetype-2.1.10
    rm -r gd-2.0.33
    5. Install PHP 4.4.4 by issuing the following commands one after the other making sure you do not miss any dots or slashes:
    cd /SourceCache
    curl -O http://us3.php.net/distributions/php-4.4.4.tar.gz
    tar xzpf php-4.4.4.tar.gz
    cd php-4.4.4
    sh
    CFLAGS=-DBIND8COMPAT
    export CFLAGS
    ./configure --prefix=/usr --mandir=/usr/share/man --infodir=/usr/share/info --with-apxs --with-ldap=/usr --with-kerberos=/usr --enable-cli --with-zlib-dir=/usr --enable-trans-sid --with-xml --enable-exif --enable-ftp --enable-mbstring --enable-dbx --enable-sockets --with-iodbc=/usr --with-curl=/usr --with-gd --with-config-file-path=/etc
(The above is one long line starting with ./configure)
    make && make install
    sudo apachectl graceful restart
    exit
With a little luck you should now be all set and have an "Apple compliant" version of PHP with GD support.
php -v should tell you the version
php -i will give you more info.

  • Installing phpMyAdmin using a virtual host

    The situation:
Apache services are running (Windows XP SP2).
Virtual host has been successfully created and works both
with Dreamweaver php pages and pages entered directly in the
    browser address bar (e.g.
    http://mysite/folder/foo.php.
    Server root is d:\htdocs.
Sites stored in this server root: d:\htdocs\mysite.
phpMyAdmin folder stored in the server root
    d:\htdocs\phpMyAdmin.
    My problem:
I have successfully installed MySql and try to configure
phpMyAdmin according to the reccomendations in David Powers
book "PHP solutions". When I start to load the setup php
    using the address:
    http://phpmyadmin/scripts/setup.php
    I am
automatically connected to the internet and this page is
    loaded
    http://www.phpmyadmin.net/home_page/index.php
I have then manually modified the config.inc.php and stored
in the phpMyAdmin root. If I try to launch phpMyAdmin by
    entering
    http://phpmyadmin/ the same page is
    loaded from the
    internet but not phpMyAdmin.
What have I missed and how can I get phpMyAdmin to work
    properly?

No, but have done it now. Now I can load phpMyAdmin into my

Ok. So having installed the virtual host for phpMyAdmin just
lets me test if its running on my PC? Withougt a virtual
host how can I see if phpMyAdmin works?
    Thanks for your help.

  • PhpMyAdmin

    Netware 6.5 sp6 MYSQL 4.1.22 PHP5
We recently upgraded to sp6 and MYSQL 4.1.22 and went to PHP5. Before
this, phpmyadmin seemed to work fine (2.6.4pl3). With the upgrade, it
still seemed to work, until I went to copy databases. Now, I get errors
like this, "#1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual
that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use

I tried upgrading to the newest version of phpMyAdmin and, although I

I have often had the charset error when moving databases between
different versions phpMyadmin using the export/import. In the past I
have just deleted the reference to the char set on the last line.

  • PhpMyAdmin Error & installing mcrypt

First off, I am a noob and it is likely that i dont have something installed that i need. I recently got PHP5 running on my computer, MySQL is running (in the system preferences -- it is version 5.1.3), Im using the apache webserver that the macbook ships with. Ive been trying to get phpMyAdmin 3.1.2 installed for the last week and ive finally gotten to the point where i am prompted with login fields. However, I have two problems:
    1. I do not know how to get a login and password.
    2. An error stating "#2002 - The server is not responding (or the local MySQL server's socket is not correctly configured)" and "cannot load mycrypt extension. please check your php configuration."
I dont think that I have mcrypt installed on my computer so Ive downloaded mhash-0.9.9, libmcrypt-2.5.8, and mcrypt-2.6.8. I have no idea how to install them. I've seen on google that i need to ?cd ./configure make and makeinstall? them. However I tried this and I get several errors which I can post if anyone needs to know them.
If anyone can help me with the installation of mycrypt or give me any other help it would be greatly appreciated!

hiya, I am new to this to, but here are my answers,
    1. I do not know how to get a login and password.
A: these should be the same as the ones you have set when you installed MySQL or check the config.inc.php file in your phpMyAdmin folder to find out.
    $cfg['Servers'][$i]['user'] = 'root';
    $cfg['Servers'][$i]['password'] = '****';
    2. the socket problem I solved it by changing this config.inc.php values
    from:
    $cfg['Servers'][$i]['host'] = 'localhost';
    to:
    $cfg['Servers'][$i]['host'] = '127.0.0.1';
3.As for mycrypt extension I about following this guide not sure what will happen

  • Won't load php_oci8.dll: PHP5.2.1-dev, apache2.2.3, oracle10express on XP

    PROBLEM
Unable to load php_oci8.dll: PHP5.2.1-dev, apache2.2.3, oracle10express on XP Home Edition with SP2.
    STEPS TO REPRODUCE
    1)
    Follow the procedure here: http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/php/htdocs/inst_php_apache_windows.html
using PHP5.2.1-dev, apache2.2.3, and oracle 10g express (the latest versions as of 11-08-06).
    2)
Rename the PHP directory to C:\PHP5 and rename any references to in in php.ini and httpd.conf accordingly
    3)
    Restart Apache
    4)
Use the test code for phpinfo.php to see if OCI is loaded (it won't be)
    5)
Check Apache's error log and it will confirm that it could not load php_oci8.dll
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
    PHP.INI
    [PHP]
    ; About php.ini ;
; This file controls many aspects of PHP's behavior. In order for PHP to
; read it, it must be named 'php.ini'. PHP looks for it in the current
; working directory, in the path designated by the environment variable
; PHPRC, and in the path that was defined in compile time (in that order).
; Under Windows, the compile-time path is the Windows directory. The
; path in which the php.ini file is looked for can be overridden using
; the -c argument in command line mode.
; The syntax of the file is extremely simple. Whitespace and Lines
; beginning with a semicolon are silently ignored (as you probably guessed).
; Section headers (e.g. [Foo]) are also silently ignored, even though
; they might mean something in the future.
; Directives are specified using the following syntax:
    ; directive = value
; Directive names are case sensitive - foo=bar is different from FOO=bar.
    ; The value can be a string, a number, a PHP constant (e.g. E_ALL or M_PI), one
; of the INI constants (On, Off, True, False, Yes, No and None) or an expression
    ; (e.g. E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE), or a quoted string ("foo").
; Expressions in the INI file are limited to bitwise operators and parentheses:
    ; | bitwise OR
    ; & bitwise AND
    ; ~ bitwise NOT
    ; ! boolean NOT
; Boolean flags can be turned on using the values 1, On, True or Yes.
; They can be turned off using the values 0, Off, False or No.
; An empty string can be denoted by simply not writing anything after the equal
; sign, or by using the None keyword:
; foo = ; sets foo to an empty string
; foo = none ; sets foo to an empty string
; foo = "none" ; sets foo to the string 'none'
; If you use constants in your value, and these constants belong to a
; dynamically loaded extension (either a PHP extension or a Zend extension),
; you may only use these constants after the line that loads the extension.
    ; About this file ;
; This is the recommended, PHP 5-style version of the php.ini-dist file. It
; sets some non standard settings, that make PHP more efficient, more secure,
    ; and encourage cleaner coding.
; The price is that with these settings, PHP may be incompatible with some
; applications, and sometimes, more difficult to develop with. Using this
; file is warmly recommended for production sites. As all of the changes from
; the standard settings are thoroughly documented, you can go over each one,
; and decide whether you want to use it or not.
; For general information about the php.ini file, please consult the php.ini-dist
; file, included in your PHP distribution.
; This file is different from the php.ini-dist file in the fact that it features
; different values for several directives, in order to improve performance, while
; possibly breaking compatibility with the standard out-of-the-box behavior of
; PHP. Please make sure you read what's different, and modify your scripts
; accordingly, if you decide to use this file instead.
    ; - register_long_arrays = Off [Performance]
; Disables registration of the older (and deprecated) long predefined array
; variables ($HTTP__VARS).  Instead, use the superglobals that were
    ; introduced in PHP 4.1.0
    ; - display_errors = Off [Security]
; With this directive set to off, errors that occur during the execution of
; scripts will no longer be displayed as a part of the script output, and thus,
; will no longer be exposed to remote users. With some errors, the error message
; content may expose information about your script, web server, or database
; server that may be exploitable for hacking. Production sites should have this
    ; directive set to off.
    ; - log_errors = On [Security]
; This directive complements the above one. Any errors that occur during the
; execution of your script will be logged (typically, to your server's error log,
; but can be configured in several ways). Along with setting display_errors to off,
; this setup gives you the ability to fully understand what may have gone wrong,
; without exposing any sensitive information to remote users.
    ; - output_buffering = 4096 [Performance]
; Set a 4KB output buffer. Enabling output buffering typically results in less
; writes, and sometimes less packets sent on the wire, which can often lead to
; better performance. The gain this directive actually yields greatly depends
; on which Web server you're working with, and what kind of scripts you're using.
    ; - register_argc_argv = Off [Performance]
; Disables registration of the somewhat redundant $argv and $argc global
    ; variables.
    ; - magic_quotes_gpc = Off [Performance]
; Input data is no longer escaped with slashes so that it can be sent into
; SQL databases without further manipulation. Instead, you should use the
; function addslashes() on each input element you wish to send to a database.
    ; - variables_order = "GPCS" [Performance]
; The environment variables are not hashed into the $_ENV. To access
; environment variables, you can use getenv() instead.
    ; - error_reporting = E_ALL [Code Cleanliness, Security(?)]
; By default, PHP suppresses errors of type E_NOTICE. These error messages
; are emitted for non-critical errors, but that could be a symptom of a bigger
; problem. Most notably, this will cause error messages about the use
; of uninitialized variables to be displayed.
    ; - allow_call_time_pass_reference = Off [Code cleanliness]
; It's not possible to decide to force a variable to be passed by reference
; when calling a function. The PHP 4 style to do this is by making the
; function require the relevant argument by reference.
    ; Language Options ;

; libraries that are meant for redistribution, or deployment on PHP
; servers which are not under your control, because short tags may not
; be supported on the target server. For portable, redistributable code,

; Output buffering allows you to send header lines (including cookies) even
; after you send body content, at the price of slowing PHP's output layer a
; bit. You can enable output buffering during runtime by calling the output
; buffering functions. You can also enable output buffering for all files by
; setting this directive to On. If you wish to limit the size of the buffer
; to a certain size - you can use a maximum number of bytes instead of 'On', as
    ; a value for this directive (e.g., output_buffering=4096).
    output_buffering = 4096
; You can redirect all of the output of your scripts to a function. For
; example, if you set output_handler to "mb_output_handler", character
; encoding will be transparently converted to the specified encoding.
; Setting any output handler automatically turns on output buffering.
; Note: People who wrote portable scripts should not depend on this ini
; directive. Instead, explicitly set the output handler using ob_start().
; Using this ini directive may cause problems unless you know what script
    ; is doing.
; Note: You cannot use both "mb_output_handler" with "ob_iconv_handler"
; and you cannot use both "ob_gzhandler" and "zlib.output_compression".

; outputs chunks that are few hundreds bytes each as a result of
; compression. If you prefer a larger chunk size for better
; performance, enable output_buffering in addition.
; Note: You need to use zlib.output_handler instead of the standard

    # This is the main Apache HTTP server configuration file. It contains the
    # configuration directives that give the server its instructions.

    # In particular, see
    # <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/directives.html>
    # for a discussion of each configuration directive.
    # Do NOT simply read the instructions in here without understanding
    # what they do. They're here only as hints or reminders. If you are unsure
    # consult the online docs. You have been warned.
    # Configuration and logfile names: If the filenames you specify for many
    # of the server's control files begin with "/" (or "drive:/" for Win32), the
    # server will use that explicit path. If the filenames do not begin
    # with "/", the value of ServerRoot is prepended -- so "logs/foo.log"
    # with ServerRoot set to "C:/Program Files/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2" will be interpreted by the
    # server as "C:/Program Files/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2/logs/foo.log".
    # NOTE: Where filenames are specified, you must use forward slashes
    # instead of backslashes (e.g., "c:/apache" instead of "c:\apache").
    # If a drive letter is omitted, the drive on which Apache.exe is located
    # will be used by default. It is recommended that you always supply
    # an explicit drive letter in absolute paths, however, to avoid
    # confusion.

    # MaxRequestsPerChild: maximum number of requests a server process serves

    # configuration, error, and log files are kept.
    # Do not add a slash at the end of the directory path. If you point
    # ServerRoot at a non-local disk, be sure to point the LockFile directive

Does the ext directory have the php_oci8.dll? In the original steps the PHP dir is renamed. In the given php.in the extension_dir looks like it has been updated correctly. Since PHP distributes php_oci8.dll by default I reckon there would be a very good chance that the problem was somewhere else. Since this is an old thread I don't think we'll get much value from speculation.

  • No more phpMyAdmin in Safari 5.1.7 (6534.57.2) !!!

    Hi there!
I used to open and use phpMyAdmin in Firefox 12.0 with absolutely no problem.
Now, I want to use Safari because of the look and feel.
    Alas, Safari doesn't work!
Safari displays the opening page at the usual URL: http://localhost/phpmyadmin/index.php or http://127.0.0.1/phpmyadmin/index.php
    But :
1 - It always displays the warning "Cookies must be enabled past this point" even if in Safari Preferences I have set up the "Always accept cookies" option.
2 - After entering the convenient Username and Password it displays a blank page.
How can I solve this issue?
Many thanks in advance for your help!

    I solved myself this issue.
In your phpMyAdmin 3.5.1 config.inc.php file, just paste this line:
    $cfg['AllowThirdPartyFraming'] = true;

I'm trying to set up my phpMyAdmin, but when I enter the information I get this Error and I have no ideal what to do. I would really appreciate any help some one could give me. (I'm still very much a rookie).
    I'm on a Window's Vista prim, home
(The message that I get is this)
    Welcome to phpMyAdmin 2.11.6
    Error
    MySQL said: Documentation
#1045 - Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)
phpMyAdmin tried to connect to the MySQL server, and the server rejected the connection. You should check the host, username and password in your configuration and make sure that they correspond to the information given by the administrator of the MySQL server.
"I don't know where the configuration place is that they said I should check"?
Thank you for your help, Joan
P.S. I've never used any forum before so I'm not sure what I do next so I'll leave my e-mail adress [email protected]
