Physical Inventory and snapshoot inclusion

Hello,
I have a question about physical inventory. When I took a snapshot and created tags of the subinventory not all the items were included in the snapshot.
I noticed that the system takes snapshots only on the items that have transactions in this month only. Is this true or is there another reason?
if YES, How can i take all items in the subinventory in this snapshoot?

That does not make sense. A tag should be printed if you have onhand no matter when the item was transacted the last time.
Verify that you did not limit your physical to a certain subinventory.
Try it in another instance that is more than a month old. If what you say is true, you should get very few tags.
If the behavior continues, you may have to raise an SR to get a patch.

There is no standard settings for your requirement. With a help of abaper you need to define an enhancement.

Physical inventory and Document posting issue

hi .,
The PI document was printed out and was to contain 3 different materials. But the PI document showed only Sl.No.3. Sl.No.1 and Sl.No.2 were not displayed.
When we go to MI03, all the there items are displayed in the PID No.xxx1234.
Sl.No.2 and Sl.No.3 are shown as COUNTED and ADJUSTED and Sl.No.3 has a status as NOT COUNTED.
The Planned Count date on the PID No.xxx1234 is 07/18/2006
When we try to do a PI Count using MI04 for Sl.No.3 giving the PID No.xxx1234 leaving the year blank, the following messages.,
" Please reconcile count date w.planned phy.invent date 07/18/2006 " with message number M7 730 as a warning.
After the warning message ,we get the next warning message " Document posting in different periods" and finally next we get an ERROR message with the text " A COUNT CAN ONLY BE ENTERED FOR PERIOD 06/2007.
We are on 4.6C with SP51. FY starts Feb. Our Current Period of control record is now 03/08
Has anyone come across similar errors and if yes, what was the action action.
Is there a SAP Note to recitify this error or do we have to open a session with OSS to generate a specific solution for this error.

Hi All,
The way I see this issue it's actually a lock. By that I mean, there's an open PID which can't be posted because it belongs to the previous period which is locked. Also a new PID can't be created because of this open PID.
Hence I suggested to go to MI02 and delete that particular line item. This deletion would not affect the other line items in the same PID. (Tip : There's a deletion indicator in front of the line item can be selected to delete a line item of the PID).
Then create a new PID. As far as the status of the inventory in 2006 is concerned it would be not counted.

Doubt in physical inventory regarding gain and loss

i am getting an error while i am trying out this. i am counting stocks in quality inspection also. there i am getting more stocks, so, i have tried to post the (gain)difference using 701 but it is showing an error
" Reason 0701 for movement type 703 not defined "
and then i tried with movement type 703 to post the difference, again it is showing another error like
" Entry 0703 does not exist in T157D (check entry) "
Is there any movement type especially to post gain/loss in quality stock in physical inventory ??
how could i resolve and post this gain in quality stock. kindly help me.

Posting differences to multiple physical inventory documents at a time

We recently completed a full physical inventory and are now needing to post our differences. Our business area decided to create our physical inventory documents with only one material number, so now we have a very long list of documents whose differences need to be posted. We were using MI20 to post the differences but it requires that you step through and save the posting for each document in the list (you can pull up the entire list and you don't have to make actually enter the document numbers, but you do have to hit "save" each time which is time consuming since we have so many.)
Is there another transaction that can be used to post all differences for a range of document numbers or do we need to have a developer create a BDC program that would accomplish this?

You can post the differences through MI37, enter PID number and choose status set for phys.inv.documents and enter posting date.

MB1C and Physical Inventory

Hi experts,
I have try to Post one material using MB1c using 561 movenent type,while saving it gives a message"Delivery 180000014 created". I dont know how this message is coming and the stock also not get updated.
Then by using transaction code MI01 for the material it saying error message"Phys. inventory document cannot be created
Message no. M7450
Diagnosis
A physical inventory document has to be created, but the storage location is subject to handling unit management.
Physical inventory in Inventory Management does not support handling units.

For MB1C
Try to understand whether a materia document has been created or not.
For this aim check MB51 with relevant parameters (that you have done MB1C such as material number,mov. type:561, posting date etc)
If not then this shows that it hasnt been done i mean no update.
Try MB1c again
For the other issue
You can use all the functions of Inventory Management, with the exception of the following:
u2022 Physical inventory in Inventory Management does not support Handling Unit Management.

Table and field name for Physical Inventory

Hi Experts,
As i have to put radio buttons with 2 blocks in a report for Phys. Inventory. Please tel me the following fields:-
Block1. Table name and field ( flag field) that shows physical inventory completed & not completed. (so many indicator fields but i want exaact one) or any other way to no PI done or not.
Block 2. Table name and Field( flag field ) for Physical Inv. Still to be executed , Physical Inv. Still to be Closed, Phy Inv. Executed, Phy Inv. Active Again.

double click on table fields
on the right side of the screen type the description of the field you want to know and execute to know the field name and the table where it is used.

Movement types and physical inventory posting

HI Expert,
All inventory differences are currently booked using SAP-movement types (MVT) 291 and 292.
Inventory differences have to be booked via the correct movement types in order to increase transparency to better analyze real consumption vs. lost inventories
For inventory differences during a physical inventory use MVT 701/702 and for inventory differences other than after a physical inventory use MVT 711/712. Currently these movement types are blocked for use in our company. So it needs to be implemented soon.So
1.I want to know if this action can be implemented.
2.Could you tell me what's the difference between the MVT291/292 and 701/702/711/712.

291 na s292 are the movements type when in u can issues material to any of the account assignment manually like cost center , project wbs, network, sales order etc.
701/702 and the correct physical inventory movement type this are trigred only when u do proper physical inventor process in SAP for storage location which is not managed with warehouse management
711/712 and the correct physical inventory movement type this are trigred only when u do proper physical inventor process in SAP for storage location are managed by warehouse management.
U will have to remove the bloked movement type 701/702 to use Physical inventory process

The information behind the blue-button for MI34, MI38 (as you mentioned) does not have enough detail. It's basically one-page. Is there another instructional source available? How is the logical file MMIM_PHYSICAL_INVENTORY_DOCUMENTS tied to the physical, can you clarify? Not sure how to determine where the sequential file being processed needs to be located. Thanks!

Assuming you are referring to WM inventory, it is very similar. Inventory is conducted at the SU level in WM if you are HU managed. One of the most widely known issues is the lack of ability to post differences of nested HUs at the WM level. If you are not using nested HUs, the process is the same as storage unit management without handling unit management.

PIAC Status and Physical inventory history

Hi Experts,
When Issuing goods / Posting material docs following error message is displayed.
"Serial Number XXXXX cannot be used - System status PIAC is active (EQU XXXXX)u201D
1. When cross checked with the relevant Inventory document, i could not figure out a relation.
2. In Physical inventory history -> Serial numbers, what does the following fields signify:
          i.   Equals:
          ii. CountedStck:
          iii. InvtBalance:
    Is there any relation with the PIAC status and above ??

Physical Inventory documents mass delete and reference in material document

Dear Experts,

1. Is there any option to mass delete physical Inv documents
2. How can i know if the physical inventory documents are posted (MI07) or not yet
3. If i see any material document of mov type 701 or 702, there is no reference of physical Inv Doc # in it. How can i know that this material document is created as a result of which physicl Inv document.

Yes You can delete the Physical Inv Documents with MIAD but for that you need to maintain one variant with it and copy all the Document no. in TEXT file paste in the in Archiving Selection's.

Please check ISEG table and provide the time Period as search menu so that you can see all the Doc's posted on today's date.

go to MB59 and check the Material documents with respect to Movement type and date. and the difference you will see in MMBE as per the movement used.
