Hi
We need to implement inventory cycle count report . Is there a standard business content data source for this ?
Thanks and Regards
ArunSorry I never responded. It's really just a matter of what you need to report on. ISEG has all the basic information you need like plant, material, sloc, etc... so the other tables invovled is really a case by case type of thing. I can't think of much else you would really need for generic cycle count reporting.
Also, the previous post is a good method depending on your needs. If showing difference postings and whatnot is suitable, then go with the movement type. But if you need to dig deeper into it by showing system/counted quantities as well as the difference, then the custom extractor would be the way to go. For me, I did inventory accuracy/cycle counting type of reporting that needed to consider the actual quantities, as a difference of 2 units on an inventory of 100,000 units is a lot different that 2 units difference on a balance of 100 units. But that was just my case is all.
Hope this helps.

Cycle Counting procedures in ECC 6.0
HI all.,
SUB: Cycle counting in ECC 6.0 with WM implemented
Ref : Industry : Apparel
What would be the differences in the cycle counting procedure working on Version 4.6C and ECC 6.0.?
In 4.6C , we normally change the indicators of A,B,C or D in OMCO and set the parameters of frequency of cycle counting , say yrly, half yearly, quarterly or monthly.
Would the cycle counting procedure be the same with ECC 6.0?
I understand that from Version 5.0, we can do cycle counting without freezing the book stock i.e have open transfer orders unlike in 4.6C wherein we have to stop GR or GI at the time of cycle count.
Is the procedure same in ECC 6.0 ?
Do educate further on the Cycle count procedure for ECC 6.0 with WM implemented for an AFS related industry.
ThanksHi,
Try this it worked for me though,
1. Goto SPRO_ADMIN
2. Select the Project
3. Choose Change
4. Go To Transport Requests TAB
5. Activate CTS Functionality
6. Save it after the Pop Up
7. Go to Se10 and check if the Project Field is getting Populated with the Desired Project or not.

OPM Physical and Cycle Count API
We are developing a custom MCSA form that calls the OPM Physical and Cycle Count API to enter Physical and Cycle Counts. How does the API create new Tag or Count Sheet Numbers and which table stores this values. I see three input parameters for this API but not sure how they work - P_page_no, P_line_no & P_count_no.
Thanks, Tony W.You need to pass one serial at a time.
Hope this answers your question. -
Inventory - Cycle count history
Hi,
I wanted to know is there a form/report, which can show the details of the historical cycle count Runs?
i.e. if we schedule to the cycle count eg. every week, is it possible to see what all items are counted 3weeks back run?

Hi All,
I'm tryin to create cycle recommendations. If i update the old item groups with the newly created cycles, and when i run the cycle count recommendation, it shows an error, " No matching records found ITW1."
But when i create a new item group and attach a new cycle count, it works. What is the reason for this and how can this be solved?
We are on 2007B, PL14
Thanks,

In principle, the program calculates the planned date of physical
inventory according to the following formula:
planned date = base date + Interval (Trans.OMCO/Tab.XT159C-ININV)
Usually, the base date is the 'date of the last physical inventory'.
Depending on the type of the stock or the batch management
requirement, this date is read from one of the following table
fields:
MARD-DLINL (Normal materials)
MCHB-CHDLL (Batch materials, separately valuated materials)
If no physical inventory has been carried out yet and if this date
field is therefore empty, the system uses the creation date of the
material as basis date. The basis date then comes from one of the
following table fields:
MSTA-ERSDA (Normal materials)
MCHB-ERSDA (Batch materials, separately valuated materials)
Since the cycle counting physical inventory always runs for the
current fiscal year, the earliest possible physical inventory date
is the 01.01. and the latest possible physical inventory date is the
31.12 of the current year. -
Hi,
The below is the issue my user asking for.
there are B items are to be counted 6 times a year (Once every two months)..
For example:
If plant A has 1000 B items then 500 should be counted in month one and 500 should be counted in month 2.
However, it seems that all the B movers are in the same month thus the cycle count is for ALL items.
User asking why all items fall inonr month when he creates phy.inv docs in MICN.
Please help.
Regards,
amarHi
Cycle counting is a method of physical inventory whereby material is inventoried at regular intervals within a fiscal year. These intervals or cycles depend on the cycle counting indicator set for the material.
Cycle counting allows fast-moving items to be counted more frequently than slow-moving items, for example.
All materials to be included in the cycle counting inventory are flagged. This is done either manually, using a cycle counting indicator in the material master record (storage data), or automatically, by means of an ABC analysis. The cycle counting indicator allows you to classify materials into individual cycle counting categories (for example: A, B, C, D) In Customizing, you can set for each category how often the materials are inventoried.
You can flag materials that are to be included in cycle counting as follows:
Manually in the material master record (storage data)
Automatically using ABC analysis.
You can use program RMCBIN00 to carry out an ABC analysis, which assigns materials to each category according to consumption or requirements. You can choose whether the analysis should only include materials with cycle counting indicators or all materials. The cycle counting indicator can be automatically updated in ABC analysis.
To plan the cycle counting inventories, start the RM07ICN1 cycle counting program at regular intervals. This program checks the due dates for inventories for all cycle counting materials.
If it is time for an inventory for a certain material, use the program to create a batch input session to create physical inventory documents. Physical inventory documents are only created for stock type 1 (unrestricted use). The planned inventory count date is calculated as follows:
Date of last inventory + pre-defined interval
The interval between inventories for each cycle counting indicator is set in Customizing.
Use the batch input session to create the physical inventory documents.
Now you can carry out the inventory. When the difference is posted, the actual inventory count date is recorded in the material inventory data as the date of the last inventory.

Problem in Physical inventory cycle count
Hi Guys,
I m facing problem with the transaction MICN, report is RM07ICN1
This report works absolutely fine for "C" type indicators.(time interval is 2 years)
But when we try to run thw report for "B" type indicators(time interval is 1 year), I get incorrect outputs.
I have checked the table , so per day it should output 27 materials to be checked, but I get sometimes more than 1000 materials sometimes 50, sometimes 10 .
I cant resolve this issue .. The diffrence between the two indicators is the time interval.

Consignment vs owned inventory for the same material/inventory (cycle count)
Hi All,
I am looking at ways within SAP that I could differentiate materials/inventory that are consignment and owned inventory...
We have a department that are experiencing difficulties performing cylce counts as they both owned and consignments parts and materials and it is currently done manually.
Is there a way for us to generate a single inventory that includes both owned and consignment in the same report?
Any help would be great!
Cheers!
WendellHi Wendell,
If you have batch management and WM, this should not be a problem.. In this case, you should be able to identify where each batch is located and if the batch is consignment or own.
If not, then execpt you separate the inventory in different storage locations, the inventory could be mixed.
Anyway, I recommend you to move this thread to SAP MM:

BIG full inventory cycle count
Hi Experts,
We have a BIG inventory coming up in a month and it seems that no one knows how to create a CC for all the parts in our inventory... we need to count everything in stock and record it in SAP.
as of now MI31 will not work... because the ABC classifications. there will be no inventory doc. numbers created for parts that have already been counted within the set time.
and manually creating a CC for over 4000 slocs with MI01 is just crazy!!
is there a way to "override" the classifications in SAP to use MI31?
or is there a better T Code that can be used?
let me know,
thanksHi,
I think in that case you will have to make ABAP program by using following BAPI.
BAPI_MATPHYSINV_CREATE
BAPI_MATPHYSINV_CREATE_MULT
