Hi Gurus,
I need your answer, during the upload of physical inventory we encounter this error Document ________ does not exist in calendar year 0000? let me know were i can set this and fix this error?

How are you uploading your physical inventory record.The document number and year is not matching with system document year.Check your file what is the year and check the document in mi02 which year it was created.If your file incorrect year year then change the year and load the file.

Customized physical inventory upload with serial number

Hello SAP gurus,
My client have a requirement for physical inventory upload in bulk.
Their requirement is - they will create physical inventory document using MI31 and MIE1.
Then they will take printout of these documents- will add physical count into it.
Then they want upload this file to post difference.
They don't want to do it manually as they have large amount of data.
They also want to incorporate serial number in it.
My query is as we are posting difference using z-program with serial number-
1.if one material with serial number have stock 10 in unrestricated and 5 in quality.
different serial numbers are assigned to unrestricted an quality stock. At the time of entering count e.g.for Unrestricted if physical stock is 11 .
then system will ask for 11 serial numbers. they will provide 1 serial number for extra material which we can fetch from file.
But as we are doning in background , we want pick 10 serial numbers for existing material and again assign them. Same scenario may be for quality.
From where (table) I can find these serial numbers assigned to unrestricted and quality stock to pick and again assign to them?
2. I have query regarding physical inventory count for special stock e.g. sales order specific stock.
In which case special stock in SAP may differ from physical stock?
If in any sales order have 5 qty of material and in storage location have stock 4 or 6 for that sales order.
Correct me if I am wrong, because I am not able to understand physical inventory for special stock?
3. I got error for a special stock material i.e. sales order specific material under quality and with serial number- When I am trying to post
physical inventory differnce , then system gives me error - You can't post differences as serial requirement is set.
Post it by 711,712,713,714.
Why this error popup?

Serial # uploading limitation in physical inventory doc

Hi,
when uploading a physical inventory document it allows only 18 serial numbers to upload at a time and it is very difficult task as per the business is concern where there are about 9000 seria (qty)l for some materials
is there any way to upload the total serial numbers at once from ecxel to SAP

When I was researching this a year back, I couldnt find an interface or API for uploading counts to a physical inventory. At that time we used Data Loader template to copy the counts into oracle, it worked for us

How to exclude a set of materials from cycle counting physical inventory
Details:
Set of material to be uploaded to SAP on say Jan-2011 from another system with cc indicator D:once
in a year and fixed,before uploading into SAP physical inventory will be done .
So we donot want again those materials to fall in the cycle counting in the same year.
So is there a method to exclude these materials from CC counting for the year 2011
or is there some way to upload last inventory count date in SAP system so that it will exclude those
materials?
Any answers will be appreciated.

Thank you for your reply.
If material count is less than this method is well valid.
IN our case there are 7lakhs materials and having diff cc indicator A,B,C,D...
So it will cumbersome for client to keep track of all those materials when to update cc indicator.
So any other thought? can we upload last count date while updating materials details or similar

Implementation of physical inventory

tell me the detail steps while implementing physical inventory newly for a company ( with t codes)

First you can use the trn. MI01 there put all the material save, then use T-Code MI04 there you have to enter the count the if you want put 0, put it and make the tick then save then use MI22 post the difference.
About Physical inventory process you have another way :
1. Use t-code MI31 instead of using MI01 , it will give you a document number of all your stock.
2. If you did not get the document number use t-code MI24 .
3. MI21 to print the document.
4. MI04 to enter the count if you want put 0.
5. MI07 post.
Create PI document using MI01 (MI31 -Using Batch)
Enter Count Using MI04 (Select Zero Stock Indicator)
Post Count results using MI07
Check Results using MI24
Upload initial Stock using MB1C 561

Physical Inventory with Serialized Material Masters

Our meter inventory is serialized under material masters for each meter type. We have separate plants for our gas vs. electric meters, and only one storage location per plant. In one case we have over 15,000 meters under one material master. When performing a physical inventory for material master A we have to enter over 15,000 serial numbers. Has anyone found a good way to enter the count results when you can only enter 18 serial numbers at a time then page down to enter the next set of 18 serial numbers and so on until 15,000 meter serial numbers are entered?
During testing, we also found that if the entered quantity is not a match to the number of validated serial numbers entered in the Maintain Serial Numbers screen, you need to cancel the session, and start over. Is there a way to correct the inventory quantity without loosing all of the serial numbers just entered?

Hi Ken,
Not sure which transaction code you are using. However, the place where you are updating serial number, take a F4; this will open a selection screen (Similar to IQ09 selection screen). On this serial number selection screen, press multiple selection button on serial number - where you will see pop-up for multiple selection for serial number. In this pop-up window, you have one button called "Import from text file". Use this button to upload 15,000 serial numbers and select them.
So, prerequisite is to create one flat file with 15,000 serial numbers.

i have a question in Physical inventory...i want to know whether we can use a batch session to upload count results using MI34 for a physical inventory count...if yes can anyone explain how to do that by using a text file...

Please accept my sincere apology now coming to my issue I have created PID document using MI31and freezed book inventory for the last day of a previous month and I get the actual physical verified document from client only after 10th of current month . Now why I have freezed on 30th is because this data should compare with the closing stocks of previous month.
Can i get input in full for processing the T code MI34 where for already created physical inventory document I can count and post.

Physical Inventory for IM Locations

Hello !!!
I have the following scenario:
This is the current process, we have the counts in a manual way and analyze the result in excel.
1.- People have printed forms in blank (tickets)
2.- then go to the location and counts the found materials,
3.- then people capture that counts in excel,
4.- FI analize the results in excel and prepare a file to be upload into SAP
5.- and finaly we use the MI10 with a batch input to load the differences and zero stocks.
(Not use the standard SAP txns for physical inventory IM like MI01, MI21, MI04, MI20 , MI07)
Now we want to eliminate the "excel" process and have it in SAP, I mean, it is possible to generate a range of physical inventory documents in blank for a specific storage location (without material), then they go to SAP and capture the material number counted, then have a transaction to check the differences and then post them?.

Movg Avg Price 0 after Physical Inventory

Hi All,
I am facing a very peculiar problem. Whenever my client writes all their inventory after Physical Inventory, Moving Average Price of the article turns to $0. Means I understand Movg Avg Price = Total Value of Stock/Total Stock, but still Movg Average Price turning $0. I have not come across this scenario till now.
Can anyone please tell me what to do that Movg Avg price does not turn $0 if we write off all inventory using Physical Inventory?
Or is this the way system will always behave in this scenario?

or something special with uploads or BAPI etc?
I have never seen that a physical inventory effects the moving average price, so I guess this is caused by own coding.

Need help in creating a Physical Inventory Document with HUs given

Hi Gurus,
There is a problem I am facing while doing a ALV report.
I have created the report and there is a button which i have fixed which has to create Physical Inventory Document.
The scenario is:
I will select the records in the report based on the Vessel Bill Of Lading (VBOL) (related to Batch characteristics of a material) and then i need to pass those values to create Physical Inventory Document.
I got a functional module HUINV_DOCUMENT_CREATE which will create the document but I am not clear what are the values that I need to pass in this.
Or do anyone know how to create the Document by passing HU (Handling Units) and Plant & Storage Location?
Please help me in the same.

Physical Inventory Movement Block not Rest at Storage Location Level

Hi,
We are facing a typical problem in our Production System and the issue is as follows:
1. We have created a Physical Inventory Document for a material with Freeze Book Inventory and Posting Block indicators.
2. We completed the count and entered the same with reference to the PI Document.
3. We reconciled and posted the differences in the system.
4. We still find that in Material Master the Physical Inventory block for material movements was not reset automatically at the Storage Location stock view.
Please help us urgently as all our Goods movements for this material are held up.

I am able to see 4 PIDs in MI22 for my material.
2 docs pertaining to the latest Annual Physical Inventory in 2010.
These documents are for the same material in the same plant but for different Storage Locations. Out of which when i see the Material Master - Storage Location view, i see that the Physical Inventory Block "X" is set for one of the Storage Locations.
The PID for the Storage Location with this Physical Inventory Block for Movements indicator, is already settled (Count done and no differences in physical and book stock in this storage location).
The problem persists and i need to remove the posting block which was not reset.

Our suggestion on Physical inventory at the client site was as per SAP
"If the flag for posting block is set then no movements can be posted for that material. Note that the inventory document should be created at a material / plant / storage location level so as to not block that material at other storage locations. If a block is not required then do not flag the Set posting block indicator. It is always prudent to restrict the amount of materials being counted and to clear the count results quickly so business is not interrupted"
CLIENT feedback: " Like wise we asked the client to make the selection by Plant = 1000, SLoc = 100, and WBS =2312-344-332 and checked Posting Blocked.
My understanding was that this selection would block only the 1000/100/WBS location.
Client is having a problem is that people trying to transact in a SLoc other than 100 (200, 300, 400) are experiencing the Blocked warning.
I know I heard that we can inventory a Storage location in SAP and lock it and the rest of the sites could continue without interruption.
Any suggestions on how we can achieve this.

Are you setting teh posting block at the time of creation of physical inventory document or by running MI32 later?
If you are running MI32, then ensure that you enter teh storage locations correctly, else the material irrespective of storage locatioons may get blocked.

T-code WV31 create physical inventory for vendor consignment stock

Hi all,
I have some issue with T-code WV31i n Sap Retail. Even though it supposed to create physical inventory doc for unrestricted use stock, it also create physical inventory Docs for special stocks (vendor consignment stock). What could be the reason?

Hi,
If i do physical inventory for 2 quantity.
1. Consignment Payables account debited with 2 qty ( Now stock becomes 4 nos)
If i issue 4 quantity
2. Consignment Payables account credited with 4 qty.
If i do consignment settelment, it is setteling 4-2 (for 2 quantity).
But I want to settele for 4 quantity.
