Physical Path for KM Documents

Hi,
I would like to know the path for the physical location of the documents that I have uploaded into the Portal.
(EP6 SP9)
Regards,
Harish

Hi Harish,
to complete this issue:
(a) CM-Repository:
(a1) DB: As already said, nothing is saved within the file structure.
(a2) FSDB: Under the "normal" structure which is mapped within the CM Repository Manager settings; this only for the "etc" repository is the path given above.
(a3) DBFS: Under an internal structure of the directory mapped within the CM Repository Manager settings
(b) All other repository types depend on their types. Filesystem repositories for example of course - are mapped filesystem structures.
Hope it helps

  • Physical path for KM documents and folders in WAS

    Dear All,
    Could you please help me in finding the physical path of the KM Content stored in the back-end WAS.
    Helpful answers will be rewarded.
    Thanks
    Prabhakar M

    Hello Prabhakar M,
    In the Details of your Document.
    Click on Properties.
    Under Properties, Click on Access Link.
    Under Access Link, there will be WEBDEV URL
    Webdev URL is the path where your Documents are Stored.
    Also, it is highly dependent on type of Repository.
    All the 3 modes of CM Repository have different ways of Storing.
    Kindly share, the mode of repository you use?

  • Need FM to find physical path for given logical path

    Hi Guru's,
    I wanted to find the physical path for the given the logical path.
    I have a requirement where i have to write records into the file  mentioned via logical path .Inside the program i wanted to fetch the physical path for given logical path .
    Is there any FM to achieve this functionality.
    Thanks!!
    Pravee

    Use fm FILE_GET_NAME to get physical file name from a logical file name. But u have to maintain the mapping between logical file name and physical file name in tran. FILE.
         call function 'FILE_GET_NAME'
              exporting
                   logical_filename = lds_name << Logical file name
              importing
                   file_name        = ds_name << Physical file name
              exceptions
                   file_not_found   = 01.

    Hi ,

    Using Logical Files in ABAP Programs
    To create a physical file name from a logical file name in your ABAP programs, use the function module FILE_GET_NAME. To insert the function module call in your program, choose Edit ® Insert statement from the ABAP Editor screen. A dialog box appears. Select Call Function and enter FILE_GET_NAME. The parameters of this function module are listed below.
    Import parameters
    Parameters
    Function
    CLIENT
    The maintenance tables for the logical files and paths are client-dependent. Therefore, the desired client can be imported. The current client is stored in the system field SY-MANDT.
    LOGICAL_FILENAME
    Enter the logical file name in upper case letters that you want to convert.
    OPERATING_SYSTEM
    You can import any operating system that is contained in the list in Transaction SF04 (see Assigning Operating Systems to Syntax Groups). The physical file name will be created according to the syntax group to which the operating system is linked. The default parameter is the value of the system field
    SY-OPSYS.
    PARAMETER_1
    PARAMETER_2
    If you specify these import parameters, the reserved words  in the physical path names will be replaced by the imported values.
    USE_PRESENTATION
    _SERVER
    With this flag you can decide whether to import the operating system of the presentation server instead of the operating system imported by the parameter OPERATING_SYSTEM.
    WITH_FILE_EXTENSION
    If you set this flag unequal to SPACE, the file format defined for the logical file name is appended to the physical file name.
    Export Parameters
    Parameters
    Function
    EMERGENCY_FLAG
    If this parameter is unequal to SPACE, no physical name is defined in the logical path. An emergency physical name was created from table FILENAME and profile parameter DIR_GLOBAL.
    FILE_FORMAT
    This parameter is the file format defined for the logical file name. You can use this parameter, for example, to decide in which mode the file should be opened.
    FILE_NAME
    This parameter is the physical file name that you can use with the ABAP statements for working with files.
    Exception Parameters
    Parameters
    Function
    FILE_NOT_FOUND
    This exception is raised if the logical file is not defined.
    OTHERS
    This exception is raised if other errors occur.
    Suppose the logical file MYTEMP and the logical path TMP_SUB are defined as in the preceding topics and we have the following program:
    DATA: FLAG,
          FORMAT(3),
          FNAME(60).
    WRITE SY-OPSYS.
    CALL FUNCTION 'FILE_GET_NAME'
         EXPORTING
              LOGICAL_FILENAME        = 'MYTEMP'
              OPERATING_SYSTEM        = SY-OPSYS
              PARAMETER_1             = '01'
         IMPORTING
              EMERGENCY_FLAG          = FLAG
              FILE_FORMAT             = FORMAT
              FILE_NAME               = FNAME
         EXCEPTIONS
              FILE_NOT_FOUND          = 1
              OTHERS                  = 2.
    IF SY-SUBRC = 0.
      WRITE: /  'Flag      :', FLAG,
             / 'Format    :', FORMAT,
             / 'Phys. Name:', FNAME.
    ENDIF.
    The output appears as follows:
    HP-UX
    FLAG :
    FORMAT : BIN
    Phys. Name: /tmp/TEST01
    In this example, the R/3 System is running under the operating system HP-UX, which is member of the syntax group UNIX. The logical file name MYTEMP with the logical path TMP_SUB is converted into a physical file name /tmp/TEST01 as defined for the syntax group UNIX. The field FNAME can be used in the further flow of the program to work with file TEST01 in directory /tmp.
    Suppose we have a logical file name EMPTY with the physical file name TEST, connected to a logical path that has no specification of a physical path. If you replace the EXPORTING parameter 'MYTEMP' with 'EMPTY' in the above example, the output appears as follows:
    HP-UX
    FLAG : X
    FORMAT :
    Phys. Name: /usr/sap/S11/SYS/global/TEST
    The system created an emergency file name, whose path depends on the installation of the current R/3 System.

    to the default folder in C, but the command
    I'm using is:

  • About the physical path for data archive

    Hi guys,
    Now we're doing the archive work.As our PRD system is a CI+DI system which has two servers just let me
    call them 63 and 64 here.We mount a media on 63's root directory.So 64
    cannot recognize the media indeed.And the background job of delete
    programs,in fact,are dilivered on the two servers depend something like
    load.
    So parts of the jobs finished,but others are unsuccessful.
    Now I don't know why the 64 server cannnot recognize the media's
    directory.
    How can I solve this problem?I've configured the directory parameter in t-code AL11,but it still only can be recognized by 63 which the media mounted on.
    Now I have two ideas about this.
    One is that using FTP to read or write files,so it has nothing to do with mount on which server.But I don't know whether it works and how can I do this.
    The other is that using SAMBA to mount the media which is an area of a Windows Server onto the 63 and 64 servers simutaneously.
    Do you have some much better advices?Please give me some advices.
    Thank you very much.

  • Physical Path in File Adapter for Windows Server

    Hi There,
    I am trying to read a file from a directory on a windows server and write it to the same server in a different directory.
    In the file adapter I gave the value for physical path as below:
    "\\10.xx.34.xxx\Share\input".
    However I am getting below message in the debug:
    "Value specified for input Physical/Logical Directory is not a directory or is not readable."
    Hence my question is what should be the value in the physical path for windows server.
    Thanks in Advance

    Thanks for your reply again.
    Actually they are not on the same file system.
    I have successfully used FTP Adapter to connect to a UNIX server.
    However is it possible to use FTP Adapter for Windows Server. If so how should be the corresponding JNDI defined.
    I am getting below error when I use FTP Adapter for Windows Server:
    Unable to send file to server. [Caused by: A remote host refused an attempted connect operation.]
    ; nested exception is:
         ORABPEL-11429
    Error sending file to FTP Server.
    Unable to send file to server. [Caused by: A remote host refused an attempted connect operation.]
    Please ensure 1. Specified remote output Dir has write permission 2. Output filename has not exceeded the max chararters allowed by the OS and 3. Remote File System has enough space.

  • Getting physical path from logical path

    Hi,
    I am using the FM FILE_GET_NAME  to get the physical path for a given logical path which I have specified within the FILE transaction.
    The code works fine when I run the program in foreground but it doesn't work when I run it in background.
    Can anyone advise on why this is and how I can get this to work correctly in background aswell as foregroud.
    The ultimate goal is to be able to poll a directory on the SAP server (which could be windows or unix) and to process the files in there.
    Thanks,
    Ruby

    Thank-you.
    I would prefer to to use a default path if possible. The reason I defined a logical path was so that this could be defined outside the program.
    Are you saying I cannot use this FM in background at all?
    Is there another FM which will do the same thing but will work in background?
    What I am trying to do is create a program which will run in the background polling a particular directory and then process the files in this directory if it finds any.
    Do you know how I could achieve this using logical paths rather than using hardcoded paths?

  • Error in Workflow for Parked Document (FV60)

    Hi Workflow Experts,
    I have a FI document parking Workflow scenario which is 3 level release that is if the amount is upto 10000 first person will release if it's more than that upto 20000  then second user has to release ,if more than that then third user will post.
    For this i have activated the main workflow WS10000051 and for two level release i have activated the sub workflows WS10000052 for first level release and WS10000053 for secondlevel release and WS10000054 for thirdlevel release.
    I have also done the Release strategy configuration in SPRO such as
    in the following SPRO steps
    1) Create Workflow Variant for Parking Document
    2) Define Entry Screens for Parking Document
    3) Assign Compaany Code to a Workflow variant for Parking Documents
    4) Define Release Approval Groups for Parking Documents
    5) Define Release Approval Path for Parking Doc
    6) Assign Release Approval Path for Parking Documents
    7) Assign Release Approval Procedure for Parking Doc
    8) Define Users with Release Authorization for Parking Document. ( I have assigned the Position of CEO created in HR to this)
    Now when the document is parked it throws the error
    Error in workflow Customizing for document parking (tranasction OBWE) and it stops in the step Determining Sub Workflow.
    Has anyone come across this issue.Please guide me in resolving in this issue, i am not able to identify whether this error is happening in workflow or due to some missed entries in SPRO settings of FI.
    So please provide me how to do settings in SPRO For Parking, mainly in Tcode OBWE.
    Regards,
    Sagar

    Hi,
    Your question is exactly same as below.
    [Re: Error in FI Document Parking Workflow;
    Hope you 've gone thru this link already, if not, pl. go thru the above link. Also, give us more details on the error you see on the wflow log, like you are not getting any wflow template ID in the cont.element "&ACTIVITY_000043_TASK&", This should have either WS10000052, 53 or 54 depending on the Amt. level. See if you are getting any value here. If not, then there is somethign wrong in your OBWE settings.
    Also, sometimes, even though this step of "Determe Subworkflow" step works fine, if there is no proper agent assignment, then also, it cannot create work item for next step of Sub wflow and hence will error out.
    Pl .check the above. May be a detailed error message from wflow log would help us out in suggesting better.
    Goodluck

    In 10.2.0.4 it is not possible to physically backup ASM or its disks.
    That is, one could physically use 'dd' ( diskdump ) to dump a disk physically to tape. But that would not be restorable.
