Physical path for XML created of program RTXDART_PT
Hi guys,
where does the program RTXDART_PT save its XML file? What is the physical path location?
Thank you!
Specify the full path in file name box when executing it, example:
/usr/sap/AAA/SYS/global/DART/PT.xml
Much better than searching for the files......
Good luck with DART files

Need FM to find physical path for given logical path
Hi Guru's,
I wanted to find the physical path for the given the logical path.
I have a requirement where i have to write records into the file mentioned via logical path .Inside the program i wanted to fetch the physical path for given logical path .
Is there any FM to achieve this functionality.
Thanks!!
PraveeUse fm FILE_GET_NAME to get physical file name from a logical file name. But u have to maintain the mapping between logical file name and physical file name in tran. FILE.
call function 'FILE_GET_NAME'
exporting
logical_filename = lds_name << Logical file name
importing
file_name = ds_name << Physical file name
exceptions
file_not_found = 01.

How to Configure logical path and how to retrieve physical path for an IDOC
Hi ,
I want to configure logical path for an IDOC,
and then I need to retrieve Physical path from this logical path
using a FM (eg. FILE_GET_NAME).
How to configure the logical path for an idoc ?
Regards ,
Harshit RungtaUsing Logical Files in ABAP Programs
To create a physical file name from a logical file name in your ABAP programs, use the function module FILE_GET_NAME. To insert the function module call in your program, choose Edit ® Insert statement from the ABAP Editor screen. A dialog box appears. Select Call Function and enter FILE_GET_NAME. The parameters of this function module are listed below.
Import parameters
Parameters
Function
CLIENT
The maintenance tables for the logical files and paths are client-dependent. Therefore, the desired client can be imported. The current client is stored in the system field SY-MANDT.
LOGICAL_FILENAME
Enter the logical file name in upper case letters that you want to convert.
OPERATING_SYSTEM
You can import any operating system that is contained in the list in Transaction SF04 (see Assigning Operating Systems to Syntax Groups). The physical file name will be created according to the syntax group to which the operating system is linked. The default parameter is the value of the system field
SY-OPSYS.
PARAMETER_1
PARAMETER_2
If you specify these import parameters, the reserved words in the physical path names will be replaced by the imported values.
USE_PRESENTATION
_SERVER
With this flag you can decide whether to import the operating system of the presentation server instead of the operating system imported by the parameter OPERATING_SYSTEM.
WITH_FILE_EXTENSION
If you set this flag unequal to SPACE, the file format defined for the logical file name is appended to the physical file name.
Export Parameters
Parameters
Function
EMERGENCY_FLAG
If this parameter is unequal to SPACE, no physical name is defined in the logical path. An emergency physical name was created from table FILENAME and profile parameter DIR_GLOBAL.
FILE_FORMAT
This parameter is the file format defined for the logical file name. You can use this parameter, for example, to decide in which mode the file should be opened.
FILE_NAME
This parameter is the physical file name that you can use with the ABAP statements for working with files.
Exception Parameters
Parameters
Function
FILE_NOT_FOUND
This exception is raised if the logical file is not defined.
OTHERS
This exception is raised if other errors occur.
Suppose the logical file MYTEMP and the logical path TMP_SUB are defined as in the preceding topics and we have the following program:
DATA: FLAG,
FORMAT(3),
FNAME(60).
WRITE SY-OPSYS.
CALL FUNCTION 'FILE_GET_NAME'
EXPORTING
LOGICAL_FILENAME = 'MYTEMP'
OPERATING_SYSTEM = SY-OPSYS
PARAMETER_1 = '01'
IMPORTING
EMERGENCY_FLAG = FLAG
FILE_FORMAT = FORMAT
FILE_NAME = FNAME
EXCEPTIONS
FILE_NOT_FOUND = 1
OTHERS = 2.
IF SY-SUBRC = 0.
WRITE: / 'Flag :', FLAG,
/ 'Format :', FORMAT,
/ 'Phys. Name:', FNAME.
ENDIF.
The output appears as follows:
HP-UX
FLAG :
FORMAT : BIN
Phys. Name: /tmp/TEST01
In this example, the R/3 System is running under the operating system HP-UX, which is member of the syntax group UNIX. The logical file name MYTEMP with the logical path TMP_SUB is converted into a physical file name /tmp/TEST01 as defined for the syntax group UNIX. The field FNAME can be used in the further flow of the program to work with file TEST01 in directory /tmp.
Suppose we have a logical file name EMPTY with the physical file name TEST, connected to a logical path that has no specification of a physical path. If you replace the EXPORTING parameter 'MYTEMP' with 'EMPTY' in the above example, the output appears as follows:
HP-UX
FLAG : X
FORMAT :
Phys. Name: /usr/sap/S11/SYS/global/TEST
The system created an emergency file name, whose path depends on the installation of the current R/3 System. -
Physical Path for KM Documents
Hi,
I would like to know the path for the physical location of the documents that I have uploaded into the Portal.
(EP6 SP9)
Regards,
HarishHi Harish,
to complete this issue:
(a) CM-Repository:
(a1) DB: As already said, nothing is saved within the file structure.
(a2) FSDB: Under the "normal" structure which is mapped within the CM Repository Manager settings; this only for the "etc" repository is the path given above.
(a3) DBFS: Under an internal structure of the directory mapped within the CM Repository Manager settings
(b) All other repository types depend on their types. Filesystem repositories for example of course - are mapped filesystem structures.
Hope it helps

Under Properties, Click on Access Link.
Under Access Link, there will be WEBDEV URL
Webdev URL is the path where your Documents are Stored.
Also, it is highly dependent on type of Repository.
All the 3 modes of CM Repository have different ways of Storing.
Kindly share, the mode of repository you use?

Simple Transformation for XML created by Excel
Hello,
Excel can produce XML files quite easily in this documented format:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa140062(office.10).aspx
(in excel: file --> save as and choose XML)
Does someone has an idea of how I can read this XML using a Simple Transformation in ABAP?
Example: if this is an excel sheet with 3 columns and 3 lines

¦ 12346 ¦ 20.02.2009 ¦15 ¦
¦----
¦

this is the XML
The goal would be to transform this XML into an internal table. Any idea is appreciated.

About the physical path for data archive
Hi guys,
Now we're doing the archive work.As our PRD system is a CI+DI system which has two servers just let me
call them 63 and 64 here.We mount a media on 63's root directory.So 64
cannot recognize the media indeed.And the background job of delete
programs,in fact,are dilivered on the two servers depend something like
load.
So parts of the jobs finished,but others are unsuccessful.
Now I don't know why the 64 server cannnot recognize the media's
directory.
How can I solve this problem?I've configured the directory parameter in t-code AL11,but it still only can be recognized by 63 which the media mounted on.
Now I have two ideas about this.
One is that using FTP to read or write files,so it has nothing to do with mount on which server.But I don't know whether it works and how can I do this.
The other is that using SAMBA to mount the media which is an area of a Windows Server onto the 63 and 64 servers simutaneously.
Do you have some much better advices?Please give me some advices.
Thank you very much.

Physical Path in File Adapter for Windows Server
Hi There,
I am trying to read a file from a directory on a windows server and write it to the same server in a different directory.
In the file adapter I gave the value for physical path as below:
"\\10.xx.34.xxx\Share\input".
However I am getting below message in the debug:
"Value specified for input Physical/Logical Directory is not a directory or is not readable."
Hence my question is what should be the value in the physical path for windows server.
Thanks in Advance

Edited by: user452458 on Jul 19, 2010 11:30 AMThanks for your reply again.
Actually they are not on the same file system.
I have successfully used FTP Adapter to connect to a UNIX server.
However is it possible to use FTP Adapter for Windows Server. If so how should be the corresponding JNDI defined.
I am getting below error when I use FTP Adapter for Windows Server:
Unable to send file to server. [Caused by: A remote host refused an attempted connect operation.]
; nested exception is:
ORABPEL-11429
Error sending file to FTP Server.
Unable to send file to server. [Caused by: A remote host refused an attempted connect operation.]
Please ensure 1. Specified remote output Dir has write permission 2. Output filename has not exceeded the max chararters allowed by the OS and 3. Remote File System has enough space.
Please Advise.
Thanks

Getting physical path from logical path
Hi,
I am using the FM FILE_GET_NAME to get the physical path for a given logical path which I have specified within the FILE transaction.
The code works fine when I run the program in foreground but it doesn't work when I run it in background.
Can anyone advise on why this is and how I can get this to work correctly in background aswell as foregroud.
The ultimate goal is to be able to poll a directory on the SAP server (which could be windows or unix) and to process the files in there.
Thanks,
RubyThank-you.
I would prefer to to use a default path if possible. The reason I defined a logical path was so that this could be defined outside the program.
Are you saying I cannot use this FM in background at all?
Is there another FM which will do the same thing but will work in background?
What I am trying to do is create a program which will run in the background polling a particular directory and then process the files in this directory if it finds any.
Do you know how I could achieve this using logical paths rather than using hardcoded paths? -

But in my program when i have used FILE_GET_NAME F.M to retrieve physical path from logical file.
Here this F.M is not returning anything.

Find physical patch for diskgroup in ASM
Hi Experts,
We have a RAC database 10..20.4 in ASM in redhat system.
there are two diskgroup as data1 and fradisk1
all of database backup files locate at fradisk1 diskgroup.
Sys admin wants to copy ASM data into tape for system backup and ask me physical path for these data files in fradisk group.
i can only get these info by asm_disk view
ORCL:FRADISK1
how to find orcl or exactly physical path for FRADISK1 diskgroup in system?
Please advised me!
Thanks very much!

In 10.2.0.4 it is not possible to physically backup ASM or its disks.
That is, one could physically use 'dd' ( diskdump ) to dump a disk physically to tape. But that would not be restorable. -
Dynamic title for Chart created by an xml-file in SAP ChartDesigner
Hello everybody.
I created an xml-file with SAP ChartDesigner for using it in my abap program. I import this file as a MIME-Object.
Everything works fine, i declared my charts and all my values.
But now I need a dynamic title on the top.
And know that I can give a title in my xml. But it's not dynamic.
I looked into the xml file and the path for the title is:
SAPChartCustomizing
Elements
ChartElements
Title
and then Caption.
p_ixml_doc = g_ixml->create_document( ).
l_encoding = g_ixml->create_encoding( byte_order = if_ixml_encoding=>co_little_endian character_set = 'utf-8' ).
p_ixml_doc->set_encoding( l_encoding ).
l_chartdata = p_ixml_doc->create_simple_element( name = 'SAPChartCustomizing' parent = p_ixml_doc ).
l_elements = p_ixml_doc->create_simple_element( name = 'Elements' parent = l_chartdata ).
l_chartelements = p_ixml_doc->create_simple_element( name = 'ChartElements' parent = l_elements ).
l_title = p_ixml_doc->create_simple_element( name = 'Title' parent = l_chartelements ).
l_element = p_ixml_doc->create_simple_element( name = 'Caption' parent = l_title ).
l_element->if_ixml_node~set_value( 'QRK-Mittelwert' ).
In my opinion, it's the right path :/
My other values i declare like this.
l_series = p_ixml_doc->create_simple_element( name = 'Series' parent = l_chartdata ).
l_series->set_attribute( name = 'label' value = 'TO' ).
l_series->set_attribute( name = 'customizing' value = 'Series1' ).
loop at gt_mw into gs_mw.
lv_tabix = sy-tabix.
l_point = p_ixml_doc->create_simple_element( name = 'Point' parent = l_series ).
l_element = p_ixml_doc->create_simple_element( name = 'Value' parent = l_point ).
l_element->set_attribute( name = 'type' value = 'x' ).
l_element->if_ixml_node~set_value( lv_tabix ).
l_element = p_ixml_doc->create_simple_element( name = 'Value' parent = l_point ).
l_element->set_attribute( name = 'type' value = 'y' ).
l_element->if_ixml_node~set_value( '35.00' ).
endloop.
It works...and i already checked this solution for my title, but it didn't work.
I call the xml file with the method cl_wb_mime_repository:

How to use P=name for Physical path name via t-cd:file
Hello experts,
I want to define physical path name using <P=name> for add-on programs.
It is desirable to save files on another drive from SAP installed drive.
I don't know which profile parameter can be changed.
I'm afraid if standard logic wouldn't work when I change a parameter.
I'm not sure, but DIR_TEMP doesn't seem to affect standard logic.
What parameter should I use for add-on?
Or can I create own profile parameter?
Regards,
Fukuhara YoheiIn my detail block I have 10 rows displaying that may or may not have data after querying. To set the default value in the detail block, you have to set the index value of p_session.set_value. Since I don't know how many rows are already populated, I'm setting the default value to all 10 rows. Is there a better approach?
Here's my code example, which I've placed in the additional PL/SQL section before displaying the form...
DECLARE
l_district_id VARCHAR2(7);
BEGIN
l_district_id := p_session.get_value_as_varchar2
(p_block_name => 'MASTER_BLOCK',
p_attribute_name => 'A_DISTRICT_ID');
FOR i in 1 .. 10 LOOP
p_session.set_value

p_attribute_name => 'A_DISTRICT_ID',
p_value => TO_CHAR(l_district_id), p_index => i);
END LOOP;
