"The ACS Database needs to be compressed as a part of maintenance operation. You can run the acsview-db-compress command from acs-config mode to reduce the physical size of the view database when there is a difference between the physical size and actual size of the view database. ACS 5.5 stops only the log collector services during compress operation and will be up and running after the compress operation is completed. You need to enable the log recovery feature to recover the log messages that are received during the database compress operation.
In ACS 5.5, database compress operation is automated. You can check the Enable ACS View Database Compress check box to compress the ACS View database automatically every day at 5 A.M. The database compress operation is run everyday automatically at 5 A.M whenever there is a need."
I already tried to manually compress the DB via "acsview-db-compress" without any effect.

Hello,
You're running into bug CSCum51180. The alarm should be a warning, not critical, and should be raised only when the physical size exceeds the actual size by more than a gigabyte (in your case, the difference is very small, 1.5 vs. 1.48).
The fix should be present on a future patch.

  • ACS - users in more than 1 group

    Hi,
is there an option to set users in more than 1 group on the ACS..for example an user in tacacs group and wireless group and citrix group. if so how do i go about doing it ?
    Thanks

Does this relate to ACS 5?
In ACS 5 can defined additional attributes for users that can be used in policy decisions

  • Heap size error when set to more than 1024 when system has 8GB of memory

    This setting:
    value="-Xms2048m -Xmx2048m -XX:MaxPermSize=1024m -Xrs -server -
Results in the service not starting and the message is logged:
Error occurred during initialization of VM
Could not reserve enough space for object heap
The server is Windows 2000 Adv, Pentium D 3GHz with 8GB of memory (OS sees 7,863,400 kb ram).
    This setting works:

Can anyone give me an idea as to why more memory can't be allocated?

Unless the OS is 64Bit, you need to set the max memory to NOT more than 1500m

My ipad had been frozzen my daughter puts the passwords wrong more than 3 times ,And its written on the screem connect to itunes .What shall I do please?Thank you.

You have to restore the device within iTunes. You want to use the same computer that you always sync with so that you can restore your app data and settings. You can restore with any other computer, but you will lose everything on the iPad.
    Instructions can be found here.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1212
You may need to restore using Recovery Mode. You can read about it here.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4097
    Recovery Mode Instructions
Disconnect the USB cable from the iPad, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off iPad: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for iPad to turn off.
If you cannot turn off iPad using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the iPad turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to iPad. When you reconnect the USB cable, iPad should power on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the recovery mode alert that iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode.
    Use iTunes to restore iPad.

  • Map.app image size is almost never correct. Always small, except when 'actual size'!

I insert images into Apple Mail and they look fine (Image Size set to "Actual Size".)
But sometimes I want then slightly smaller without editing, saving and re-loading.
So I use the very handy Image Size feature in Mail.app.
Sadly, whether the image is set to Small, Medium or Large, the image is ALWAYS resized to Small.
On rare occasions I see a difference for Large, but then medium and small are always the same.
Even the byte counts for the message are the same across all image sizes.
It seems the only REAL options are 'Small' and 'Actual Size'.
I have had this issue with all versions of Mac OS X that included this feature up to and including Mavericks.
Has anyone figured out the messed up magic that makes this feature work correctly, or in sty least a sane or consistent manner?

Thanks for the reply Jon, but unfortunately I ended up with the same result as MTSTUNER said (using the Crop Tool).
MTSTUNER, that definitely helped. The problem must have been in pasting, which as you said brings a "non-smart" image over. I was even able to resize a bit on the new document without losing any clarity whatsoever. Very helpful - THANK YOU!

  • Processing Multiple Files for more than 100 Receive Location - File Size - 25 MB each file, file type DML

    Hi Everybody
    Please suggest.
For one of our BizTalk interface, we have around 120 receive locations.  We are just moving (*.dml) files from the source to destination without doing any processing.
We receive lots of files in different receive locations and in few cases the file size will be around 25 MB and so while moving these large files, the CPU usage is varying between 10% to 90+% and the time consuming for this single huge file is around
10 to 20 minutes.  This solution was already in place and was designed by the previous vendor for moving the files to their clients.  Each client has 2 receive locations and they have around 60 clients.  Is there any best solution for implementing
this with in BizTalk or outside BizTalk? Please suggest.
I am also looking for how to control the number of files which gets picked from the BizTalk receive location.  For example, If we have say 1000 files in receive location and we want to pick at a time only 50 files only (batch of 50) then is it possible?
because currently it is picking all the files available in source location, and one of the process is dropping thousands of files in to the source location, so we want to control  the number of files getting picked (or even if we can control to pick the
number of KBs).  Please guide us on how we can control the number of files.

    Hi Rajeev,
25 MB per file, 1000 files. Certainly you got to revisit the reason for choosing BizTalk.
“the time consuming for this single huge file is around 10 to 20 minutes”
     - This is a problem.
You could consider other file transfer options like XCopy or RobotCopy etc if you want to transfer to another local/shared drive. Or you can consider using SSIS
which does comes with many adapters to send to destination system depending on their destination transfer protocol.
But in your case, you have some of the advantages that you get with BizTalk. For your scenario, you have more source systems (more Receive locations), with BizTalk
it’s always easier to manage these configurations, you can easily enable and disable them when a need arise. You can easily configure tracking; configure host instances based on load etc. So you can consider following design for your requirement. This design
would suit you well since you’re not processing the message and just pass it through from source to destination:
Use a custom pipeline component in the Receive Locations which receives the large file.
Stores the received file into disk and creates a small XML metadata message that contains the information about where the large file is stored.
The small XML message is then published into the
    message box db
instead of the large file. Let the metadata file also contain the same context properties as the received file.
In the send port, use another custom pipeline component that process the metadata xml file, retrieve the location of the disk where the file is stored, access the file and send it to destination.
Read the following article on this design..
    http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/180333/Transfer-Large-Files-using-BizTalk-Send-Side
This way you don’t need to publish the whole message into message box DB which would considerably reduce the processing time and utilises host instance to process
more files. This way you can still get the advantages of BizTalk and still process large files.
And regarding your question of restricting the Receive location to handles the number of files from receives location. No it’s not possible.

    M.R.Ashwin Prabhu

Nokia N8 is one of the worst handset I have ever had... I was the one who was promoting this device to everyone before launch and after launch but this Nokia people have screwed me.. with a week of purchase my handset was continuously resta...rting for a minimum 30-40 times in a day.. I took it to care center and they flashed it but nothing worked..
Later they told they need to send the handset to Delhi Head Office, which was sent on 27th And nothing happened till now, Its just revert is going on is shown from last 4 days..
I wont entertain this kind of service, I would move towards a legal action on this as I have a Job Sheet which says Target Deadline for handset is 25th of October and today is 2nd Nov..
The customer care guys told me If you want you can go ahead with the Legal Case.. This is what Nokia is doing in India now..

A very typical experience with Nokia Care in India. Nokia earned it's reputation via it's products and it's losing it via it's 'care' centres.

  • More than 7 hours to save a project

I am using DVD Studio pro 4, and my project has more than 1000 menus; the file size is about 5 GB. When I make a few changes and hit “save", DVD Studio Pro is taking more than 7 hours to save the project.
I know more than 1000 menus seems a bit unusual, but we are an authoring house, and we develop training DVDs with hundreds and sometimes thousands of screens.
Any suggestions on why DVD Studio Pro 4 is taking so long to save the project?
    Note:
I am using a G4 with OS X 10.4.8, dual 1 GHz, 1.5 GB SDRAM of memory, and my project is on an external 500 GB Lacie hard drive.

Thanks for the responses. I really need to get this problem resolved.
The changes I make usually involve adding more menus and assets to the project.
I do have the setting set to "Auto Assign Buttons Continuously." However, I imagine if this were a problem, then it should affect the response time of the application when it is being used, not after one hits "save". I really need this feature, and I would hate to have to change it.
I am not using templates; I am using my own menu assets--a different graphic for each menu. And all of my assets are in a "graphics" directory that is in the location as the project. The external hard drive has 245 GB free space.
What do you mean by the following?
"DVDSP writes out the file information every time you save"
    Thanks.

  • IChatAgent takes more than 100% of CPU

The iChatAgent takes more than 100% of CPU. It works normally for 10-15min with little CPU usage but then takes 100% of CPU and stays like that until I quit/kill the process. I tried waiting for hours to see it might go down is usage, but no, and the cpu fan remains on continuously.
I simply use it for text based chatting, and have disabled audio, video, microphone etc, and still this behavior that I can't use it for more than 15min.
Here is the iChat version: Version 5.0.3 (745)
    Macbook Pro/10.6.4/Intel Core i7
I have tried removing ~/Library/preferences/com.apple.iChatAgent.plist as suggested elsewhere, and that hasn't helped either.

    Thanks again Ralph.
No, I do not have any add-ons, just out-of-the-box ichat without any audio, video in use.
At this stage unfortunately, I can't continue using iChat as it hogs up the CPU in less than 15min. And that I do not experience any problem with other chat-clients such as AIM or jabber, so switching over to those until there is a resolution.

  • "actual size" does not display as actual size

If I open a document with "preview", and choose "dispay>actual size", the document will be displayed exactly at the actual size. For instance, an A4 document will be displayed exactly as large as an A4 size piece of paper. I checked by actually laying an A4 on the screen: they aligned perfectly. It appears that this program is aware of the pixel size or amount of Pixels Per Inch of my screen.
However, any other program I use to create documents, doesn't display "actual size" or "100%" properly.
Both iWork and Microsoft Office programs display documents way smaller than the actual size when set to 100%. Its is more like 50% to 60% of the actual size. Adobe acrobat displays at about 75% of the actual size. It seems that these programs base the display size on a preset pixel size or amount of Pixels Per Inch, that does not necessarily correspond with the pixel size of the screen. Since I have relatively small pixels, the documents are displayed very small.
*Is there any way that I can configure my OS or these programs in such a way that they will display "actual size" properly?*
I figure that if "preview" can do it, other Apple programs, like iWork, should be able to do the same.
    Thanks for your help!

The terms "actual size" and "100%" are misnomers. To give an example, if you open an image in Preview and choose "actual size", it will display your image at 1 pixel on the screen per 1 pixel of image. The size of the image you see on your screen will be different depending on the resolution and size of your screen. It does not vary with the resolution of your printer or the dimensions of the paper you have chosen or any other printer settings. The size you see on the screen has nothing to do with the size of your printout. "Actual size" is not really "actual size", as you have discovered.
Turn on the rulers that are built into Pages. They are not "actual size" either but they'll show what the size will be for the paper size you have chosen.
