PI 2.2 Monitoring Policies

I have created port groups and used the criteria of description used on network interfaces to categories the interfaces into functions, WAN facing, Internet facing etc.
I was hoping to then create Monitoring Policies to then use for each of the port groups I have created.
My end goal was to be able to generate critical alerts for when one of the interfaces in my specific port groups went down or had an issue and then tell PI to not alert for any other interface up/down event it saw. Therefore only getting critical alerts for interfaces I care about.
The problem I have is when creating the Interface Monitoring Policy there is no option to set the condition for Interface availability.
Does anyone have any idea how I can get around this or another way of doing it so I only get critical alerts for interfaces I care about and not for any of the other interfaces.
Thanks in advance.

I tried to work around this by setting a threshold on Input/Output Utilization to 1%, but this obviously doesn't work for 10 GB links as the normal condition is often below 100 Mbit.
I sent an Enhancement Request to our PM. It's just stupid that this feature is missing.

  • Doubt about TSAM database mantenance

    Hi to all
We are trying to implement tsam on Linux and we find the following problem:
The application appears to work up and communicating with the agent but in a short time the tsam.log.ddmmyy file shows the folowing error: ora-01654
Now we fix it doing a “purge all”
    The question is:
Is there a way to automate the cleanup of the database?
Can we set up something to make the information older than a month to be deleted automatically?
    Thanks in advance
    Guillermo

    Hi Guillermo,
It sounds like you need to add space to your database, or perhaps change your TSAM monitoring policies to not collect so much information. The TSAM console allows you to purge older records, but it doesn't provide a scheduled way to do this that I'm aware of. You could simply create a script that posts the appropriate page to the TSAM console to do this and then add the script to crontab.

  • Differences between Monitor and Decrypt actions in Decryption Policies

    Hi Everybody,
Currently I'm working in my first WSA (S170) implementation and some questions has popped up while I was configuring the Decryption policies. The main question here is:
What are the differences between "monitor" and "decrypt" in the URL Filtering options. As I understand the "decrypt" action allows the WSA to decrypt the packet and treats it like a plain HTTP packet applying the Access Policies, malware inspection and so on. Then I do not really know what the Monitor option does, I'm assuming that it does not decrypt the packet and only checks the destination URL and to allow or not the connection.
Thanks in advance for your collaboration.
    Jose M. Cortes H.

If you set it for Decrypt, it always decrypts stuff in that category.
If you set it to monitor, then other criteria in the policy are used for whether to decrypt or not, such as Web Reputation...
Here's the flow, which I pulled from the online help:
    https://wsaip:port/help/wsa_help/index.html?Decryption_policies11.html#wp1208329

  • What is the best product for network mapping and monitoring? I am an inexperienced user). Mac 10.9.2 laptop

I have lots of questions, but the gist is that I want to know the best product, preferably from the app store, that I can use for network mapping mapping and monitoring.
I want to get their mac address or other police trackable etc info so I can use my computer safely.
    I am also being cyberbullied.
I try just using ethernet but still get intruded on, for instance, messages that "other devices are using my ip address". The only other device I own is an iPod that I keep sahut off plus wifi turned off then.
(NOTE:  You can skip the rest of this message if you want. It regards hacking attempts etc,  a little out of the scope of discussion, perhaps).
Also a home intrusion where computer was thoroughly hacked with router(s) set up "very very close to me," according to Apple.
Also, hackers get into my Facebook and gmail and yahoo mail, really,  no matter what I try to do on my computer and how many times I change passwords it does no good.
Also,  The ip addresses for google and the one in syste preferences and the one looking up my ip address on ip chicken always gets three different results.
More worrisome it that hackers got into my Wells Fargo account a week after the intrusion even though I changed all account #'s and pw plus notified bank. They also broke into paypal using my new account numbers.
Also, stuff like Facetime pops up on my computer without my clicking on it even though I'm using ethernet to connect. I've given up on Time Capsule because I'm told that's how the hackers hacked my computer so thoroughly duriung the intrusion.
    Thanks.

    Aubry,
why don't you send your sequences straight to Compressor first, encode your movies as MPEG 2 and AC3 audio and import all assets in DVD studio PRO?

  • Is it possible to check if anyone has applied to monitor my web browsing history/cache/bookmarks as an employer on my home pc without my knowledge or consent?

I am using private windows to browse since someone seems to know what sites I've visited. I've done my best wrt blocking cookies and deleting history on exit, but some data in the "Library" exists.
Apparently my isp provider and employer can see my browsing history of a private browsing window.
I am currently self-employed but I volunteered for an organisation until October 2013. One of their members I worked closely with was stalking my email and browsing history without my knowledge.
Is it possible for this slimy bleep to have weasled their way into monitoring my web activity by claiming to be an employer?
Can I use a private browsing window safely?
I have a business to run, so I need my information, email, web activity to be kept confidential.
Any helpful advice will be gratefully received.

Your question is a bit confusing, and it seems that you don't quite understand who and what can view your internet activity:
    * Private browsing mode simply leaves no record of the sites you visit in your browser. There are so many other parts of the chain that can keep records. Example: Your computer could have tracking software (installed intentionally or maliciously), many routers have web logging, your Internet Service Provider can view the sites you visit, your employer if you are at work, the government has extensive tracking programs as well. Private browsing won't defeat these tracking techniques. It basically only prevents people who have physical access to your computer from looking in your history and seeing the sites you visited in PB mode.
    * Your employer can't just request to see the sites you visit when you are at home. The only reason your employer could see the sites you visit is it you take your computer to work and use your work network to access the internet (and the employer has enabled logging on their network hardware) or you have a work laptop and take it home and it has logging software installed on it. Many employers have policies against using work equipment for personal. But there is no way that your employer can call your home ISP and ask to view your internet history.
    * Your ISP keeps a record of the sites you access, but won't release that without a court order (or to the NSA....) so unless you have a court order or a snoopy ISP employee who has an axe to grind and is viewing your internet logs illegally you don't really have to worry about that.
    * It's possible you have malware on your computer that is tracking your internet history. [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware]]

  • ZCM 11 Group Policies not applying to satellite servers

    Hi there
We are running 2 Windows 2012 Primary Servers and a SQL 2012 Database server at our main site, all remote sites have SLES11 SP2/OES11 SP1 as satellite servers. We upgraded all servers last weekend to 11.3.1 and now have an issue with Group Policies applying to the satellites. The satellites are all set up the same with Authentication, Collection, Content and Imaging roles.
Since we upgraded Group Policies are (99% of the time) not applying on satellite sites. I have tried manually replicating content (I assume policies will come from content replication?) to the satellites - I've done this with a zac cdp replicate and zac cvc and everything seems to replicate over however I tried highlighting a satellite server and clicking on Action, Specify Content - select the Policy that is not applying and move it into the selected Content to update column and when I click finish I get the error "The Wizard cannot continue for the following reason(s): Unable to complete your request for the following reason: Error updating content"
On a managed device at the satellite site if you look at the properties of the Zenworks agent and click on Policies it has applied 4 device assigned policies successfully - Remote Management, Power Management, Application Launcher Config and Application Control Policy, also has successfully applied 3 out of the 4 User Assigned Policies - Mandatory Profile, Dynamic Local User, Application Control - but not the Windows Group Policy.
Our PCs are on Windows 8.1 and all policies were applying fine before the weekend upgrade......
Has anyone else had any experience of Group Policies not applying that could point me where to look? I have logged an SR with Novell through our reseller but as yet I am getting no response back at all, not even asking me for more information.
    Many thanks
    Sharon

Sounds like you have a content replication issue more than a GPO issue.
Especially if the GPO works for locations that point to the Primaries
    for Content.
Do you have throttling configured anywhere in any fashion?
You may need to increase the Replication Timeout to make sure content is
getting over to the Sats. Often increasing from 60 to 240 helps, but
watch out for throttling preventing content replication.
It is possible things are backing up.

  • Color management policies

If color management policies are turned off in Photoshop's Color Settings dialogue panel what happens when a file is pasted into a document that has a different working space? Does the pasted file get converted to the working space or are the numbers assigned to the working space?
EG: Working space is Adobe RGB 1998 and the file being pasted into that document has an Adobe sRGB space. Will the color numbers in the pasted document be converted to Adobe RGB 1998 or will they be assigned?
    Thanks

There is no “No Color Management” behavior in Photoshop despite the silly OFF policy. The RGB numbers are untagged and thus undefined but under the hood, Photoshop is still using its color management and Display Using Monitor Compensation architecture. The RGB working space you set in the Color Settings is what is used for the assumption of the scale ( color space) of the untagged data. Same with CMYK etc. All you have to do is open an untagged RGB doc, go into Color Settings and alter the RGB working space popup and the color appearance changes (not the numbers) because now PS is making a new assumption about this untagged RGB mystery meat. The OFF policy and untagged docs are bad, bad, bad!

  • Unable to edit Group Policies

On current build ZCM 11 SP3... We had some original group polices created for Windows 7 64 bit that seem to be applying properly to the workstation. I'm able to confirm workstation policy settings on the workstation by opening up gpedit.msc and confirming my settings. The problem that exist is when I login to the ZCM console and try to edit any of my policies it seems to come down from the server but when I open my policy settings they are all set at not configured. I even tried creating a test policy and making like three changes. I saved the policy and uploading seems to work without any errors but when I try to re-edit the policy it has the three that were change defaulted back to not configured. I attached a copy of the Zen_GP.log file that shows this...

    Thanks

I believe they are targeting ZCM 11.3.1 for the Fix, but that is still
    probably about 3 months out.
I have not really delved deep into where it is trying to find this DLL,
just that it is trying to find it and failing as you noted.
Maybe Procmon will show where it is trying to load it from.

  • Exchange Server 2010 usage monitoring

    Dears
How we can monitor Exchange server 2010 usage like owa usage, mail sending, contact Adding and editing ...etc.
is exchange has tools to do that or i have to use system center if yes what version of system center is Enterprise or Standard?

    Hi ,
Please check the below mentioned points
1.) For owa and rpc connections usage , you can make use of the mentioned script on below link.
    http://mikepfeiffer.net/2011/04/determine-the-number-of-active-users-on-exchange-2010-client-access-servers-with-powershell/
2.)For tracing the total mails send and received by the individual users (i.e internal /external)you can make use of the below mentioned script
    https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/scriptcenter/bb94b422-eb9e-4c53-a454-f7da6ddfb5d6
3.For contact adding and editing.I mean to track administrator related activities on exchange recipients ,You can make use of Exchange admin audit logging to track such kind of activities. But that will not tell you the count of total contacts that are in
exchange and it exposes only the changes which is done by administrator on the recipients available in exchange.
    http://www.msexchange.org/articles-tutorials/exchange-server-2010/compliance-policies-archiving/administrator-audit-logging-part1.html
Below is the link which will help you to get the Admin audit report via emails in HTML format.

  • Deploying QPM policies through CLI

    Hello,
We are using QPM v4.1 Combined (provisioning + monitoring) and using the IP Telephony wizard to create Voice policies on the network.
Deploying polices directly from QPM showed up that some deployment jobs fail for reasons such as "QPM internal error" and cause unexpected behaviors with half a QOS configuration deployed. For this reason, we prefer now deploying the created policies from the CLI. According to the user guide, we then only have to rediscover the device to be able to monitor it with real-time and historical QOS monitoring.
We are faced with the following problem : frame-relay subinterfaces configured with standard QPM policies are no longer visible when trying to create the monitoring task. This however was possible for the same policy when it was successfully deployed from QPM.
Am I missing a step ? Should I import policies from the device to QPM in order for him to recognize them ?
    Thank you for your support.

Sorry for passing this bad news unfortunately there is no such feature in ACS. The CLI for ACS is linux based interface. ACS is java based application which is running on top of it. It is using some SQL anywhere database to store the config.
This is not supported and not documented anywhere and strongly not recommended.
So from technical point of view, as CLI and ACS are not much related there is no such a
    possibility.

  • The quest for real estate (USB- monitor question)

    The short question:
Any advice or gotchas regarding USB->External Monitor adaptors?  Especially, if the monitor accepts both VGA and DVI, which type of adaptor would be better for performance?  Advice about brands/models is also welcome, but I live in Japan, so I may not have easy access to the same stuff as you.
    The details:
The need for more frequent travel is forcing me to transition from desktop to laptop life for the first time ever.  But when I'm at home or in one place for awhile I want to "pretend it's a desktop" - with an external mouse, keyboard, speakers, and two 19" monitors for video editing (in that situation I don't really care about the screen on the laptop itself - it doesn't match the shape, size, and color tone of the others anyway).  Unfortunately, the laptop I bought (this Acer) only has one HDMI port - no DVI or VGA.  The monitors I own can do either DVI or VGA.  I bought a cable to convert from HDMI to DVI for one of them - so far, so good (I haven't tried using it for PPro yet, but I assume it would be fine).  But the question is what to do about the second external monitor.  Apparently I can get an adaptor for around $50-80 to go from USB3.0 to either VGA or DVI with a driver to tell Windows what is going on, but some comments on the web say that video play is choppy - that would not bode well for editing work.  One guy said that he got a USB->DVI adaptor and had performance troubles, and traded it in for a USB->VGA one that worked better, but I would have assumed the opposite or no difference at all, so I'd like to know what you smart Adobe users think.
I also considered getting a dual monitor docking station like this Kensington and have the convenience of everything on one connection.  But I don't know if having both monitors on one USB3.0 interface is asking too much of it, and the price tag is a bit high.  If it has some sort of performance boosting hardware in it, that would be great, but the specs don't seem to mention it.  But maybe it doesn't matter.  I am a novice regarding graphics hardware and its related interfaces, so any advice is appreciated.

why are you using 2 monitors instead of the laptop panel and 1 monitor?
Because the laptop display is smaller, a different aspect ratio, and a different color tone (I tried adjusting them to match each other to no avail - they are apparently completely different display technologies).  Also, I like having a long timeline in PPro that runs across the two displays, but that only makes sense if the two displays are the same height and resolution.  Currently I arrange the second monitor above the laptop, not beside it, because the widths are much more similar than the heights.
However the latency and software with the USB video adapters have not been great and all the experience I have had with clients has required them to remove the adapters when using an editing application.
Well, the whole point of doing this is for PPro (for other uses, mismatched displays work okay), so if latency kills me, I'll return the adaptor and hate laptop life, I guess... Seriously, if the latency is so bad that I can't use it even with PPro panels arranged per JEShort01's suggestion, I don't know what my next move would be.  I could try to arrange my PPro panels with this vertical inboard-external display combo, but I think the colors, resolution, etc. will forever be disorienting.  I know that many people use PPro on laptops, but having gotten used to my desktop with dual 19"-ers, I have trouble imaging how they survive...
If the DVI is digital then you have better specifications than DVI Analog.
I've never heard of DVI Analog (I thought the D in DVI stood for Digital) and have no idea which kind is in the back on my monitors.  But I have seen these monitors when connected via both types of connectors and there is not any perceptible visual difference, if that is what you are asking.
However the posts you have seen regarding VGA would be accurate since VGA is analog and doesn't require the digital hand shake.
Aha!  That's the sort of nuts-and-bolts info I didn't know and was hoping for.  To sum it up, you're saying that in your experience USB display adaptors in general have trouble with internal latency, but between the two interfaces, VGA has a bit less overhead.  Okay, I'll try VGA in a reputable brand and test thoroughly.  I'll buy it at my favorite huge chain store that has good return policies, and I'll report back.

  • Using 2 Minis with only 1 monitor

I have posted elsewhere about the possibility of using 2 Minis (one PPC and one Intel core duo) with only a single monitor, keyboard and mouse.
I thought that Apple Target Disk Mode would be the answer, but I was reminded here that the remote Mac would only be useable as an external HD, not as a computer.
I am wondering therefore if a KVM switch is what I need, to operate either one Mac or the other. Then I would only use the FW remote control when I needed to transfer files.
Belkin makes one such KVM switch for the Mac mini, exactly the same footprint and finish, but rather pricey. There may be similar devices from other makers, possibly cheaper.
If anyone who used one of these KVM switches could give us some comments it would be much appreciated.

A USB-based KVM switch would be a good way to go.
If your connection to your monitor is digital, rather than VGA, these switches are somewhat expensive.
If you are willing to use VGA, then there are many options available in KVM switches at reasonable prices.
I'd recommend buying from a store with easy return policies, because it can take a few tries to get a model that suits your hardware.
Depending on how you intend to use your secondary Mini, a network remote control program like VNC might be a reasonable alternative to a KVM.
And transferring files through ethernet cable, an alternative to using Target Disk Mode.

  • Monitor profile, i think i did it ok but not 100% sure

After reading several previous discussions and answers i'm still unsure if i do the things ok.
I have calibrated my monitor using a Spyder3 hardware device.
Doing so i think this profile is automatically used by my monitor (Eizo cg243w)
If i'm also correct i have to do NOTHING inside photoshop in order to see on screen the correct colours etc.  OR do i have to set Colour settings to: Monitor colours? (Monitorkleur) with  Ctrl+Shift+K, then first question like this:
And further more, i work with 2 screens; 1 calibrated (main screen for editting purposes) and 1 screen not calibrated (second screen) for skype, bridge, mail etc.
I suppose, since i open PS on the main calibrated screen, this is not a problem, but again, am i correct?
    Thanks in advance

Adobe RGB (1998) is certainly a more appropriate working profille than your monitor profile.  But assuming "Uit" means "Off", I'd say the Color Management Policies section may still need work.
No one but you can say whether they're the settings "you should use".  We simply don't know your goals, how you want to work, what you want to do when there are mismatches, etc.
Bear in mind there are no "this is the one right way" settings.  Every single one of them has a use and a reason for being presented to you.
Here's a snapshot of my particular color preferences.  Since I publish a lot online and my inkjet printer prefers sRGB input, I have chosen sRGB IEC61966-2.1 as my default RGB working space.  If you're printing more often to wide gamut printers then it may be more appropriate for your Photoshop to prefer to use the wider gamut Adobe RGB (1998) color space - or even others.

  • HD monitor

What's the chance of apple releasing an imac with an hd monitor?

Well I would tell you bud, but then...first off, I dunno (that would be awesome though!) and secondly:
